5 miles running and 3 walking. Hardly anybody on the roads when we first got out, so we were enjoying running in the road instead of the sidewalk. We even made the usually too-dangerous dash over to a nicer neighborhood that doesn’t have sidewalks at all.

Then just when we were relaxing, things got crazy! My husband unbeknownst to me was counting the number of times we nearly got hit by a car - 211. And it seemed like the cars were there for no other reason than to try to kill us! The same car would come shooting down the street, do a u turn, and shoot past us again. Then we would see what you could swear was the exact same car on the next street over! Finally I saw one of them make a stop and realized, it was dinnertime. A horde of door dash and Uber eats drivers were delivering dinner for everybody stuck at home. Driving like maniacs trying to get there on time for a good tip and unfamiliar with where they were going.

We passed several other people running, including some people wearing masks. I had never previously seen anyone but us and one military guy run here.

Despite the tail end of it being a little like a game of frogger it was a nice run. Weather perfect. Cherry trees in bloom. I have given up trying to keep any particular pace right now. The sidewalks here are just too bad. We were running like eleven and a half minute miles, which is the pace we usually run on a moderately difficult trail. We did throw in a couple of strides when we got a nice open stretch of road.

Ah man, that doesn't sound much better. Maybe go back to the park, but cough a lot? Just kidding, but really, I don't know... I hope you can find a good solution so that running can really be relaxing!

Got the run done early today. Tough slog on the trails again. I'm counting it as speedwork, maybe hills - it certainly wasn't fast but it was hard!

@rheddmobile Glad you got out for a run. Sorry you almost got run over 211 times!!! Now that you know it was delivery people, maybe you can schedule your next run earlier, or later, so you aren't at peak dinner time.

@autumnblade75 Hang in there. Don't give up. Doing something is better than doing nothing at all. Try to give up the concept that you have to do things perfectly or not at all, if that is what you are doing. "Don't let perfection get in the way of progress" is a quote I heard somewhere and try to live by.

@PastorVincent Love the cartoon. That's why I have a dog and not a cat. Sounds like your coach is NOT going to give you a break. Another thing you can use as weights, if you are just trying to tone and not bulk up is cans of soup and doing lots of repetitions. I used to do that. I think I need to start adding that to my week at some point.

125 new posts! You are all so active!!!!!!

I ran two runs on Saturday because 1. it was fun and 2. I kept thinking about how they may do a lock down here soon and I won't be able to enjoy the trails or roads as much.

    I am still working.

Last week I was afraid of my hours being cut and this week I am the last man standing. Only one left in the office. All the hours are great and I am grateful.

I am proud of all of you for working so hard and maintaining and pulling yourselves back up. You are all amazing heroes.

I hope to run this evening - I took the dog to the trail after work yesterday too and it was absolutely lovely.

Just hoping we can keep going. :)

    We're all in this together!

I think I may actually hit my running goal! In fact, I think I have a good chance of surpassing it
I am sooo excited! This is my third time joining these and will be my first time actually hitting it. AND I did it four months pregnant.
I don't know if I'm just feeling really good about myself and ambitious, but I think I will set the bar even higher next month

    YAY!!!!

@autumnblade75 I was actually talking about your running, but it applies to all aspects of life as well. Doing something for others has great benefits for ourselves and lifts our spirits. Glad you can sew the masks and hope you find a way to do it more efficiently. Have you googled it?
