Hello everyone and big hugs to all who all dealing with anxiety and stress. I know that the news cycle has certainly taken a turn for the worse. Reading all of your posts this evening I am aware of how much this virus thing has weaved its way into our daily life.
I had a work meeting and was supposed to be out of town tonight, but after driving several hours this morning was told it was canceled. I can't say I'm too sorry about that, I wasn't looking forward to it and I was happy to turn around and get a surprise evening at home- my job has a fair bit of travel and it wears on us since I have young kids. My family has a vacation planned next week for spring break. We are hemming and hawwing a bit about going, but so far are leaning towards going. I know that could change by next week, but we will reevaluate and see then. There are cases in my state but none in our county yet. The plane trip will likely be stressful, though.
In other sad news, our state has banned gatherings of over 250 people, and so the Shamrock Run I signed up for this Saturday has been canceled. I think I'll find a way to run my own personal 5k, since I've been working so hard to get ready for it! I do think it's probably a good idea to ban large public gatherings at this point though, but it still is a little disappointing. Silver Lining- the weather is supposed to be crap on Saturday so at least I don't have to run in the rain/wind!
@mmdeveau I am so sorry about your jury duty experience. You would think we would have a way of questioning people in a more sensitive and less-public way. It's such a critical part of our justice system!
@KeriA Aquazumba sounds so much fun. I'm glad you feel comfortable at the gym, and it's sweet your son is looking out for you. I have been wondering myself about the gym. If it's clean and not too crowded, I'd probably go for it too.
@aliciap0116 my husband is the same way. He makes me feel like such a worrier. He is one that feels the whole thing is overblown. I'm reading the news more than him, and consider myself a little more up to speed though. It's a balancing act for sure- wanting to be prepared but yet not wanting to feed our own fear and anxiety too much.
@sharpdust I'm distracted by this too, as is probably noticeable from my post tonight. And yes- you can do it with the loss! Weekend is coming up- what's the plan for success?
@Terytha I am sad to hear that you are having a rough spell. I hope that the cloud lifts and we see you again soon.
@AlexandraFindsHerself1971 sorry about the evening not going as planned. I hope you get some good sleep tonight and that tomorrow is better!

Goals: let's say we get to a solid 195 this month. We'll start there and see where it goes.
Non-weight goals: continue logging everything in grams, work on getting sodium intake beneath 2000mg each day, continue getting at least 100g protein each day.
Sodium: lol, nope
Protein: yesss
Fitness goals: lift more than 3x this month (lol) ▌▌_ _
Running: let's go for 25 miles. It's not about the distance, it's about the form. Get the form right.

I know CoViD19 is weighing heavy on everyone's minds, certainly on mine. Hugs for all of you. Internet hugs are free of germs and excellent for social distancing. I went to the grocery store yesterday, and it was absolute madness. Ugh.
Anyway! I hope everyone has an excellent day today! I'm going to go in on either some Chinese food tonight or some detroit style pizza, not sure which yet, to celebrate my first Friday off the awful shift. I should maybe lift some weights. I will lift some weights.
Friday! Kick it in the *kitten*!

Down a pound! I'm at 278 now. I had just more or less accepted that the recomp that I've been doing has happened instead of poundage loss, and I wouldn't make my poundage goal for the month. My body might surprise me. I knew it had to happen at some point as I am consistently eating at a deficit.15

CW: 220.2
GW: 160ish
March Goal Weight: 212
Weigh-in day: Friday
3/6: 218.2
3/13: 218.6
A gain! I am okay with it though. I had a rough week last week with being sick. I am still not quite 100% but almost. Fairly sure some of my weight loss last week was due to water weight being lost as I was sleeping a lot and not drinking enough water and super dehydrated. I'm going to keep trucking on and just be happy that I seem to be fully in the 210s now!11 -
SW: 272

3/8: 249
3/13: 243
March GW: 240 (if there are not too many family gatherings)
Woo! Lost the water weight, which I did expect, but I was surprised to still be able to have a loss beyond that. I just might be able to hit my March goal after all!
@CupcakeCrusoe, nice job! And either of those food options sound delicious, I've personally been craving Thai food.
@AlexandraFindsHerself1971, woo! I'm glad you had that happy surprise.
@FadedNovelty, great mindset, it is easy to feel discouraged when we don't lose.
@shorepine, sorry about the run cancellation, but like you said, you can do your own. I hope your trip goes smoothly!9 -
I am stress eating. Not total binge but eating what I want without too much thought. Its the stress of the virus. If I'm gonna be home for a while I need to come up with a plan so I stay busy but also avoid other people. I was telling my friend that I want to set a schedule for myself so that the looming lock down isn't so terrible. For example:
8:00-9:00 Walk/Hike
9:00-10:00 breakfast
10:00-12:00 Lesson plan
12:00-1:00 Lunch
1:00-2:00 Nap
2:00-3:00 Strength Exercises
Etc. Etc.
I think that will make things easier, by being productive but also being responsible. I think eating bad 2 days due to a pandemic is understandable but I don't want this to lead to my total abandonment of good habits. Stay safe everyone!9 -
Friday weigh in - have to make it quick, not a lot of time!
Hope everyone is taking it easy and realizing it's ok to feel anxious and worried about this virus. Hang in there and do the best you can and if you go off plan just get right back to it when things settle down. Sorry for the possible missed trips. So disappointing, I know. I had to cancel mine and to be honest I am ok with it even though I am disappointed. We can just go another time and it will be safer to just stay home. But I also was able to cancel everything and there were no flights involved. Prayers to everyone and their families.

-Move more – commit to at least 15 minutes a day for 6 out of 7 days – not doing so great with this. Still a work in progress. Has always been my struggle. But I am going to continue to work on it.
-Limit alcohol intake - so far March hasn’t been the greatest, but compared to prior months I think I am doing ok. 3 out 12 days.
-Work on reducing the bad fat – still a work in progress…went over a couple days but I am aware of it
-Work on changing my negative thoughts to positive ones – this is a hard one right now as I am going through a family thing right now that is bringing me down. Some emotional eating but again I am very aware of it and working on identifying when it's happening.

Good morning everyone, I think yesterday might have been the quietest day on this thread I have ever seen, going back to October. I think everyone is overwhelmed, scared, and distracted. We just need to do our best to stay healthy and give ourselves grace when we are stressed and don't eat/exercise perfectly.
Schools are closing here for two weeks starting next week, although I anticipate them being closed for much longer. All social and kid events (the party, my son's soccer, and dance) are cancelled as well. I have permission to telework and am very happy not to come into the office after today. My husband, sister, and brother-in-law all work in large government buildings in DC. They are trying to get approvals to telework but are dealing with red tape. Our daughter is at college and about to start spring break; her classes are moving online so she is sorting out whether she will be with us in DC or her mom in Florida or a combination of both. Our older son is at an Air Force base in Italy. He lives and must stay on base. I am not aware of any cases on base, so he is relatively safe given that he is in Italy.
@sharpdust I think your idea for setting a schedule is excellent. That was the advice we received from our younger son's school too. I've decided to add in some personal goals as well. I'm going to take an hour each day to clean out a closet or cupboard, work on meal planning, learn meditation, get the taxes done, etc. I'd also like to make a point to catch up with family and friends by phone/video each day. If you are living alone, I would suggest finding a friend nearby that is similarly committed to limiting their exposure that you can socialize safely with on a regular basis. Also, I don't know whether you have contact info with your students but reaching out and counseling them on this situation might help distract you as well.
It is hard to say what will happen and how long this will all last. I'm am happy to deal with any inconvenience if it keeps us healthy. Sending cyberhugs to everyone and prayers for you and your loved ones.7 -
Sooo. We're (work) closing early today and maybe not coming back Monday.
One of my coworkers has a baby who needed basically her entire stomach transplanted two years ago and he will be off for the foreseeable future.
This is not helping my anxiety over whether we're all gonna be out of a job soon.
I hate feeling so helpless.11 -
@aliciap0116 Those are all excellent suggestions! I love the idea of checking in with a friend/family member via videochat once a day, and picking one organization goal to get through. Also, good suggestion from @sharpdust about following a daily schedule.
I'm telecommuting and trying also to stay home with my daughter, and so far she is just binge watching cartoons which is making me feel guilty. But- it's the only way I'm able to get any actual work done. I wonder how long the schools will be closed for.
I'm also stress eating- being out of my routine and close to my own kitchen is not helping!

Gotta love the ups on weigh in days. I know I've been quiet for a bit now (although that may be a good thing to some lol) but still feeling like a turtle in it's shell. Momma's liver biopsy came back malignant yesterday which was as expected. I'm in a nesting mode and struggling to participate in the world at the moment. Even though I'm not active in thread and news feed I'm still lurking around. Hugs to those who are struggling and high fives for all the accomplishments/goals hit. Anxiety is all around so wishing all a happy, safe, and positive weekend.19 -
Hey All,
Soooooo... for some reason all my meal logs and exercises were wiped for today. They still show up on the home page, but when I go to my diary, there’s nothing there. And I do NOT feel like doing it all over again. I don’t even know how it happened. I was logging dinner, turned my head to look at the tv, and when I looked back at the screen it was blank 🤬 Uuuuuggh
@bluffgirl67 I’m so sorry to hear about your mom. Prayers to you and your family that she can fight and win.
Congrats on the loses @AlexandraFindsHerself1971 and @CupcakeCrusoe !!!

March goals: 1. Taking the necessary precautions needed to avoid contracting the COVID-19 virus. At present there are two cases at my hospital. But since we are a small hospital as soon as the patients are tested positive they are send to a bigger hospital within the health care system which is well equipped and have more negative air pressure isolation rooms. These are rooms used to treat patients with airborne contagious diseases and prevent cross contamination from room to room. I am surprise to see how calm everyone is but today there was a mask mandate for all employees. We are all doing our best trying to keep ourselves and patients safe.
2. Get out my sewing machine and start making alterations to my spring and summer clothes, I am not an expert by I did pass sewing 101. Buying new clothes is really expensive.
3. Getting my Patio garden ready for planting my flowers when the weather gets a bit warmer. Nothing beats having a patio overflowing with beautiful flowers.
4. Continue to exercise and eat healthy sometimes a good workout is needed to help with the stress of everyday life.
@bluffgirl67 Sorry to hear about your mom, I wish you and your family all the best.
Everyone try to keep yourself and loved ones safe especially the elderly and those with suppressed immune systems. Lets hope this virus goes away soon without causing too many deaths. May God keep us all safe.

I'm so sorry to hear about your mom, @bluffgirl67 Sending hugs to you and your family!
What a week. My sister finally had an ultrasound but hasn't received results from it yet. My workplace announced it is closing all indoor portions of our facility as well as events, meetings, volunteers, etc. For now, I am still able to work, but we will see what next week brings. Schools in the area are all closed, so some of my coworkers will be off due to that. Others have arranged to work from home. I am planning to continue going into work for as long as I can.
I stocked up with at least two weeks worth of food today. No TP since that can't be found anywhere right now, but I have enough to get through the end of the month. Crazy the things that people stock up on, lol.
My weigh in day is tomorrow but I had a couple of glasses of wine tonight and ate like crap today so I'm not expecting a loss. Seems the least of my concerns at the moment though.
I hope you all stay safe and healthy in the weeks to come! Praying this will all blow over very soon.5 -
I'm sorry to hear about your mother @bluffgirl67. I'll keep your family in my thoughts.2

Midterms are done! Spring break has started 🥰 now I really have to get back on track and stop failing myself 😢7

Down another pound this morning. This is good. I feel good, so I'm not worrying about it.
Boyfriend is working from home (he's in IT) until the beginning of April, and Girlfriend's classes were all online anyway this semester. We don't go out much anyway, so I'm not terribly worried about us here.
I just have to say again how easy I'm finding eating less to be. Even when I'm terribly hungry before a meal, I now know that the portion that I choose that is measured and weighed and smaller will satisfy, and most of the time any cravings I've had have been very low key and not at all hard to resist. I've been recomping more than losing many weeks, and I feel stronger and more capable and less of a blob. I feel very good, and I can't say enough that just sticking with the logging and eating sensibly and within the limits equals good results.

Height: 5'7"
Highest Weight: 254
End of December Weight: 246.7
End of January Weight: 244.7
End of Feb. Weight: 242.2
3/7: 241.5 (-0.7)
3/14: 241.2 (-0.3)
End of March Goal Weight: 237
Final GW: 165 (then reevaluate)
I was surprised to see a small loss this morning given the fact that I did not eat well yesterday. I kind of just stress ate throughout the day and ended up being way over on sodium. Then I had two glasses of wine last night that definitely hit the spot, but couldn't have helped. My clothes are definitely getting baggier though, and I'm sure I will see a bigger loss soon if I get back on track and keep my sodium under control.
Hope everyone stays healthy during these crazy times we're going through right now!7 -
@AlexandraFindsHerself1971 I’m so proud of you!2
