It’s good news they been calling in inventors to create tests to medical equipment that can be made fast efficiently their letting them get through red tape faster . This is the time for new inventors with no backers to shine! All the way to companies to be heroes 🦸♂️ in the science field

Heather I'm not an attorney, but maybe you will have a slightly better chance of getting money back if you have stated your requests for refunds to the airline and SAGA in writing, preferably tracked or certified somehow, and as soon as possible. You may have already done that. Copy to your attorney if you have one. It won't hurt, and it ensures that there can be no future argument about what you requested (an immediate full refund, which you are entitled to).

Love the quote @SuziQ113 -one of my favorites also!
Took the day off work today. Still organizing stuff, cooked some dinner, went for a walk, cleaned litter boxes, actually took a nap. Decided to pick up a new printer (my old one is near death's door). Not able to hook my state computer to local printer. Ordered one from Best Buy (they brought it out to the car). That is the first time I have ever used any "curbside pickup." The new one lets you email documents to it, so that should be helpful since I know I will need printed documents. Also will have some I need to sign and scan, etc.
Sounds like everyone is dealing with social distancing well. Ohio has been a bit aggressive, getting to it sooner than others, and I am glad we did. I know it will get bad here, but hopefully not at the level of some states. My heart goes out to the hot spots.
Well, off to clean kitchen. Then brings small pub table up from basement to use to put some of the stuff from work on so I know where things all.
Take care all,

Janet OKC: Sending good thoughts to your niece. I hope the cancer is gone forever and she heals well. :flowerforyou:
Heather: I hope you get full refunds for your cancelled cruise and are able to thrive in place for as long as necessary. Someday adventure travel will again be safe and accessible. Karen has good ideas.
Margaret: I wish you luck in getting your son to reduce cigarettes. My parents never quit smoking until their hearts quit beating. I worry that my children could go that direction. I hope they never get addicted to tobacco products. They certainly never smoke in my presence. I hope they don’t’ smoke at all. As mothers we worry and pray.
Tere: Your husband sounds like an energetic and motivated man. :flowerforyou:
SuziQ: Laughing out loud. Thanks!
We usually have hummingbirds year around but haven’t seen them in a long while. I hope nothing bad has happened to them. I fear that I may have caused trouble my using ant bait nearby. I am sad and worried. I plan to take the feeders down, wash them well, and put them back. I hope the mamas are sitting on eggs and I caused no harm.
Done!

Hi Gals,
I have caught up in my reading and thought I’d put out an update on what’s going on here. My part of California has been shelter in place since March 16th, so going on 2 weeks. It was very difficult for me in the beginning but that is finally beginning to turn around.
I am classified as an agricultural worker when I am at camp and they are paying me for 10 hours a week. There are no kids at camp so the winter harvest is mostly mine – that is great! I have shared with a few friends and neighbors. And have begun planting for late spring/summer/early fall harvest as well. I know lots of folks have never grown their own produce and/or don’t have the space, but if you can I’d really encourage you especially during this time.
I think it is SuzieQ with the cute pots in her courtyard, they would be great for a clump of chives (which you can put in anything you want a onion flavor, or garlic chives which taste garlicy), or for basil.. Those will both help flavor up a meal that might be a bit boring.
My embroidery business is slow but I am working on advertising via facebook and have gotten a bit of business. I am also going to work on a few other venues of advertising. As items can be left on my porch or sent to me, and sent back or picked up off the porch.
I am realizing how social I really am, although in small groups, I have embraced the on-line (facetime) dinner, cocktail hour, and book club. I must admit I somewhat lost it on our online book club. Near the end of the meeting they were talking about the impact of shelter in place was having, and when one woman said “it is so horrible, my nail gal won’t open her shop for me (which btw would be illegal) I have not trimmed my toe nails in 16 years, it is completely wrong to expect me to go back to that.” At first I was sure she was being funny, but nope! I was so angry I could barely talk, but I choked out my reality; I have not yet recovered from 2008 and I could not imagine how I was going to survive this, I went off for minutes - I think it brought them all up short. But the up shot of it is many orders for embroidery, and gardening.
As time has gone on and much of the rest of the country is catching up to the shelter in place rule California has thing are getting easier. Anyone who is struggling financially I recommend you reach out to all of your creditors. I have at this point lowered monthly payments on a number of bills $ 20 at the low end to waiving payments for 1,2 or 3 months. Warning this may not be easy. The cable company’s auto recording said the wait time for a real person was 9 hours and 23 minutes, I was determined. And I hung in there, and waited just a few minutes under 6 hours. But am on a different plan that is saving me $20 a month.. because I made the call on my cell phone I could wear my headset and do stuff while I waited. So $20 x 1 year = $120 / 6 hours = $20 an hour which I felt was worth it. I have saved on electricity/natural gas, credit card, cable TV, mortgage and on Monday will be working on my cellphone bill.

Amber ... I was wondering, as you described JR's issues (both the skin and digestive), if you have had him tested for allergies? When my older boy was around 2-1/2 he had issues with eczema and I took him to doctor after doctor using different creams. No one tested him for allergies. We went on this way for a long while until we put two and two together and discovered he had an egg allergy. Just a thought.
Pip ... I love that last photo you posted ...
So the guys wanted me to bake something fun today. Made a three-layer chocolate cake (no eggs) with buttercream frosting. Had never made one but decided that if 8 year olds can make perfect layers on the food channel baking shows, surely I can too. Wishful thinking. LOL. My cake didn't have enough frosting on the sides and I wasn't going to make more, but they liked it. Thought about a pretty plate ... but then thought not.
I had so much more I was going to comment on, but I've lost my thoughts. Thinking of you all.

I took the hummingbird feeders down and washed them thoroughly before putting them back out with fresh nectar. I also hosed down the windows before I returned the feeders. A little feathered friend buzzed by me to see what I was up to. I hope I’ll see it and many of its friends at the feeders soon.

Margaret - I quit smoking 11 years ago, it is a very stressful process and I learned through it that I needed to be ready for it. I understand the desire to get your son to quit, but I know from my own experience anytime someone suggested ways for me to quit before I actually decided I wanted to and was ready only made me smoke more. Your son, from my understanding of what you have shared is just getting stronger it may not help him at this time.
Kim - I was floored reading how selfish the woman In your book club is being, I hope that you get 1000’s in business due to standing up to her. Unbelievable!
I had to go into work this morning to trains new security guard for the nursing home. I came home and tidied a bit, then went to watch tv in the bedroom while Rodger was watching TV in the living room. I ended up watching a show on Netflix called Self Made the story of Madam CJ Walker. It caught my eye as Octavia Spencer was the lead and I love her. Anyway it’s only a 4 episode mini series and I started and finished it in 4 hours. Good show for anyone looking for something to kill some time.

One of the residents at the Manor today told me the groundhog is in isolation and that’s why Spring isn’t showing up. He’s a curmudgeonly man so it was nice to get a joke out of him.6 -
My husband is the opposite of some of yours. He is very high risk--heart, lungs, cancer---so he is clearly isolating. Only one other person is allowed in our house (the woman that I walk with every morning) and he goes out only to the yard and across the street to the mailbox if no one else is there. I have been out twice this week (grocery and post office) only on the condition that I wear gloves and strip off all my clothes when I get home, put them directly into the washer (I enter the house in the laundry room) and go directly to the bathroom and shower and wash my hair. Then he goes out to the car and wipes everything down with sanitizing wipes.

I agree with you about my son. The problem is smoking makes you getting a more serious verison of COVID and he has already been through so much medically. This is how I approach it and he agrees. Still easier said then done in trying to quit.2 -

Just me checking in.💖. Hope everyone is hanging in there. I am doing OMAD (one meal a day) and feeling really amazing. I know fasting is not for everyone, but it works for me. My eating window is noon to 4pm. Then the rest of the time I fast. My complexion has cleared up, and my lichen sclerosis auto immune disease has gone into a bit of remission. Its a way of life I can do for the rest of my life for that fact alone.👍
Athena cuteness !
