My takeaway.....just don’t compliment people in that way. I don’t want to give people the wrong idea. 🤷🏻♀️ It’s not necessary to say anything really I suppose.
That's generally my approach too, which is unfortunate because I think compliments should be more freely given. But it seems like someone is always looking for something between the lines, and nothing is always safe, so...1 -

I was just legitimately confused...😅
I will no longer speak as I could be flirting, I could be insulting. I have no idea anymore😬
Just say 'nice toes' everybody wants to be complimented on their toes. And if toes are out of sight, nice ears?2 -

Agree with this! It's too easy for everybody to get the wrong idea these days. No more 'nice hair', 'you eat soup so quietly', 'nice way strutting your stuff'.

I was at Walmart a few months ago and I was standing in the bread section minding my own business wondering what bread I wanted to buy, an older man who worked there came up to me and said "please don't take this the wrong way but I find you extremely beautiful" he smiled then went on his way. The way he delivered his compliment was so respectful and I absolutely appreciated him telling me not to take it the wrong way. I understand why he felt the need to tell me this as I also been approached and been told "damn girl, you fine" all while getting looked at up and down. I think complimenting a stranger is a pretty great thing. So many times I've been complimented and those people didn't know that I was feeling so depressed and that little "I like your nails" went a long way for me. A stranger made me smile when I most needed it and they didn't even know it. I guess what I'm trying to say is, if you want to compliment someone do it. Your words could impact a person in the most positive of ways.8 -
Walmart bread section.
Noted.

Alright, I'll be the anti-social one.
There are times and places where I like talking to people I don't know, but those don't include the grocery store (or, for that matter, any other store, public transportation, libraries, etc...). Gym would be borderline.
And yes, that does apply to attractive women. It might be an ego boost later on but at the time you're just freaking me out.2 -
ladies of mfp
would you prefer him to be overly toxic or kinda a doormat?
(no in betweens & honest answers only pls im trynna see something)
Toxic is horrible, so I would go with doormat and do my best to work with him on it. I've been a doormat before, so I get it. I feel like toxic people want to hurt other for what's best for themselves, and doormats do what is best for others at risk of making themselves unhappy. I would rather someone too selfless than selfish.2 -
Guys,
What kind of body type do you like for women? I'm always curious. Obviously I would never change for a man but I do wonder what they prefer.0 -

I'm a girl but as I've aged ive grown to appreciate all body types. There seems something sexy about the unique curve or muslce or style of a woman's body1 -

ETA: This post was relatable. I remember reaching above the stove (when I was 9 months pregnant) and catching my big belly on fire ...true store...also "insightful"
Okay but have you ever put the cereal in the fridge and the milk in the cupboard? That’s when things get real scaryfor real though, gives new meaning to having a bun in the oven. Did you get hurt??also..

I agree with this. I used to prefer all feminine all the way but lately I’ve found myself really attracted to more stereotypically masculine body types, let me see if I can find a recent example
Edit: ok the one I was thinking about is a fairly controversial celebrity so I won’t go there but take Ruby Rose for example1 -

When I was pregnant I put Tabasco sauce in our bathroom linen closet. Like... how does that even happen?? 🤣 I still get reminded of that mistake 😑🤣2 -

All the nope. I've never been able to wear one-piece anything because of my height, jumpsuits, rompers or whatever, so there's just no way I'd be comfortable working out in that.0 -

Women, Which is more loathsome - an unsolicited d pic or unsolicited advice in the gym?1

🤔 I've not been on any dating apps (where, legend has it, 🍆 pics are unfortunately abundant) and I rarely frequent gyms but of the two...it would be the advice.3 -
twitchandshout wrote: »Women, Which is more loathsome - an unsolicited d pic or unsolicited advice in the gym?
How unsolicited are we intending? Like completely out of the blue, or just a little early/no stamp on the already composed invite?3 -

Unsolicited advice is my #1 biggest pet peeve
So.....what if i observe you training and notice if you continue doing what you are doing you will most likely tear your rotator cuff.....do i, A- keep my mouth shut and let you do damage to yourself.....B - offer advice and let you do damage to me as you shout me down for mansplaining or some other sexist charge......or C - send a D pic 😆5 -

In the future you might want to include a period at the end of your sentences.2 -

You may wish to avail yourself the use of a comma to delineate time from advice.4
