Katla - If you type into google 'waitrose walnut choc chip brownies' it should come up. I'm not going to put in the walnuts because the kids don't like them.
Amber - Whenever I read your posts I think, 'It sounds like the Wild West'. And then I remember....It is!!!!!

Heather: Chocolate chip brownies are divine. It sounds like a lovely project with the kids. Unfortunately, my pants are snug enough as it is, so I will abstain for now. I couldn't eat just one. :ohwell:3

I have an idea, but I'd like to see what the next pair is in the pattern to be sure.3 -
Katla - I'm not doing it with the kids, I'm delivering the brownies to their doorstep. We will wave through the window!

Heather: Thank you for your concern about my daughter in law. The waitrose chocolate chip brownie recipes sound delicious. I wouldn’t include walnuts either. Too many members of our family need to be careful about nuts. Thank you. During these times we’re all in our separate places and need to keep from giving or catching the virus. :ohwell:
Amber: Congrats on shopping success. As to masks, I’ve gone to the stores early in the morning and have seen very few people without masks. Most early customers are seniors due to store policies attempting to improve safety. I’m wearing my mask so I figure it is protecting me from them.
Safeway and Walmart both have in-doors and out-doors in place. It is a way to protect people from being too close to strangers for comfort and safety. I take my own durable bags in all of our local stores. I don’t expect cashiers to touch them because they need to be protected from customer’s bags that have unknown possible germs. I go to the end of the checkstand and put the food into my own bags myself, after the cashier runs the prices into the system.

LOLOLOLOL Oh Heather! A wall. A large, impassable wall goes up in my head as soon as any type of number puzzle comes up. Even number related topics. Stock market, taxes, bills...my brain says "Nope. Don't care." and shuts down. lol Go ahead and give me a clue. Is this a math puzzle or a "language" puzzle? I will try if it is actually some other type of puzzle. lol
Barbie- You are one of our "sages". Those people you go to because you know that they have the answer; they are just waiting for you to ask for it or find it out on our own.
Pip- Is that Rocky or Floyd you have been sharing with us? (Although this last one could be Bullwinkle?)
alabastermama- What is your name? I must have missed it if you gave it. I live in a beach/resort town on Lake Michigan. It is still pretty cold up here, but people (local and tourists) are flocking to the beach when the sun is out (which it has been lately) and it is just crazy! Gathering in groups, like it is okay because they are outside...OF course the local business owners want beaches/the state park and businesses to open by Memorial Day (I mean, we all do) but not if it means spreading the virus to uncontrollable numbers. Our positive COVID cases have doubled in this past week, and so many people are screaming at our governor to open things back up at the end of April. In my opnion, it hasn't even peaked in our county/area yet. So frustrating.
Well, I got out today and got some of my outdoor chores done. The temps got up to the high 40s and the sun was out, so it felt really nice. If the wind dies down, I will be able to burn the tree limbs that I will be cutting off the trees tomorrow. I spent some time today planning crafts and stuff and got sidetracked on that timesuck called Pinterest. It was okay, though. I spent a LOT of time laughing because I found pages under the topic of "snark/sarcasm". It filled a wonderful need in my life for "dark humor".
Ah well, I have a load of laundry in the dryer, waiting to be folded and beans soaking on the stove that will go into a crockpot tonight with a ham bone, so that I will have soup when I wake up! Grateful for crockpots and their inventor (godresttheirsoul). love to you all! ttfn xoxoxoxo KJ (Kelly)

We were meant to be at the highlight of the cruise today, the Geiranger Fjord. I had booked myself in for a RIB trip this morning and we had a coach tour of the mountain scenery with a musical performance in a church for this afternoon.
The weather is sleet and moderate wind with heavy cloud cover. 3° C this morning for my boat trip.
All I can say is Phew!
Here it is in nice weather!
Lovely! I doubt we could have seen much of the mountain tops. The RIB trip went up to that waterfall.
Still waiting for my money back.

I think this was the cruise we did for our 50th wedding anniversary in July 2016. You will enjoy these places when you get there! Alesund is charming. The cathedral in Tromso is spectacular. And as for the Geiranger fjord! We did a speedboat trip there. Others did the rib or kayaking.3 -
Made a chuck roast in the IP, got chicken marinating, made pork chops then lime shrimp. Made a taco spaghetti for Jess and Colby. Colby’s mother has something like 5 children. I don’t know how she does it with dinner. I had to make 3 separate dinners. Well, I really only had to make 2, I made 3 so that I could get something else out of the freezer. Vince had chicken leftover, I had salmon cake leftover, and I made the taco spaghetti for Jess and Colby.
This morning went to Aldi. Went to Lowes Hardware in the afternoon. Vince needed a four port something or other and some sort of adapter. Then we went to WalMart because we wanted to see if they sold refills for propane (they don’t) and got a few other things while we were there. Came home and vacuumed out the spa in case Jess and Colby decide to go in. I’m betting not – I don’t think Colby has his bathing suit with him. Also made hamburger patties to freeze for later
Now I need to log.
We’re running low on “pops” so I’ll make more yogurt tomorrow and then after it drains I’ll make more pops.
Bananas – yes, I’m preparing for Christmas. I told you I was BTD. Vince said “well, I guess we need to put up the trees”. Ahhh…no
Okie – I wonder if that knife sharpener is still good? Thanks for telling me that it IS a knife sharpener. I was wondering
It was interesting. All the stores tell you to stay 6 feet away from another person (that’s fine) but then they have such narrow aisles that there is no way you can be 6 feet from the person next to you!
I was thinking of making mini cupcakes for Jess and Vince, but, really, there's enough for dessert that I'm not going to be bothered.

I was in a lot of Challenge threads (GoTs, Harry Potter etc) for a while when I was first losing weight. I found they were a great motivational tool to do different exercises etc. However, after a while, I got uber competitive, so decided to withdraw from most of them. I like groups where I feel and affinity with the other members, so I still belong to some of the general ones I joined at the very beginning, and I'm assistant coach for Sole Mates Walking Group.

Regarding forum, threads, etc.
I'm a member of 2 forums (MFP and Bikeforums) and am an active poster on both ... although that goes in waves depending on how busy I am. Here, I'm involved in this thread, 3 challenge threads, and I'll weigh in on various threads in the Fitness subforum ... and occasionally one or two other forums.
On FB, I communicate with family and friends, and I "own/manage" a page and a group ... both of which have to do with cycling and I am a member of several groups, most of which have to do with cycling.
The Brain Injury Association of which I'm a member and board member has just set up a FB group which I need to join shortly.
I've created a group on Teams for my immediate work area, and we chat now and then.
Both of my uni courses have a discussion forum which I participate in occasionally.
I'm not good in person and I'm terrible on the phone ... but put me in front of a computer and I'm tapping away at 60 wpm.

Autism
My grandson was 12 before he was diagnosed as being neuroatypical (autistic). His (appallingly late) diagnosis prompted me to learn more about autistic traits that may go unrecognized - especially by the autistic person. I have been particularly interested in autism in women, many of whom go undiagnosed.
From Synapse.org, here are characteristics of autism:
"Autism is distinguished by a pattern of symptoms rather than one single symptom. The main characteristics are impairments in social interaction, impairments in communication, restricted interests and repetitive behaviors. Other aspects, such as atypical eating, are also common but are not essential for diagnosis. Individual symptoms of autism occur in the general population and appear not to associate highly, without a sharp line separating pathological severity from common traits.
People with autism have social impairments and often lack the intuition about others that many people take for granted. Noted autistic Temple Grandin described her inability to understand the social communication of neurotypicals as leaving her feeling 'like an anthropologist on Mars.' "

Until I was 18, my mother gave us a selection of cereals for breakfast, then made one lunch for us all, and one dinner.
After 18, I was on my own for both breakfast and lunch, and when I was home, she made one dinner. She still does that. She has a dinner plan and sticks to it.
If any of us wanted anything else, we were free to make it, but we had to make it and clean up any dishes involved in the making.
I don't recall her ever making a different dish for each person.

Returning to MFP today. This is the place I had success prior to WW. I lots my first 25 # here, then lost a total of 50 with WW. My husband lost 40# after he joined. We stopped losing when it went to freestyle, but honestly, I think it had lost its luster by then. We stopped tracking. Fast forward to last May when my life was interrupted after my mom had a bad fall and was hospitalized. I stayed in Michigan for 2 months, home for one and back again for one more as I tried to find her a better living situation. Had to empty her old residence, set up her new apartment and try to get her acclamated to her new surroundings in a Senior Living/ assisted living place. During this time, I was diagnosed with R.A. and have started medication to manage it. Needless to say, I quit WW, and the weight has crept back up. Exercise has rarely been something I enjoy. The RA makes me regret it the next day. Of course it's worse when you sit on the couch all day, so it's time to get out of this rut. The clothing I just bought in a size up is already uncomfortable. So I purchased a scale and signed up for premium, to turn things around.
