04/27 DNW today. I live with my in-laws and the scale vanished from the bathroom because I think my sister in law used it to weigh her cat. So I took that as a sign from the universe to just wait until tomorrow morning. I didn’t sleep so great and woke up at 4AM wide awake, so I’m hoping that doesn’t affect my appetite too much today. I’m hoping to be down from 125.2 tomorrow morning. It was a weekend filled with birthday dinners for my husband but I did manage to stay relatively close to calorie goals. Last night I probably went over by about 150 or so, which isn’t a killer. I also focused on drinking more water yesterday but lacked enough fiber. So drinking a good amount of water and getting enough fiber today is my goal today!
04/28 124.4 Down back into the 124 range. Dipped last round to 124 and bounced back up to 125.6 then down to 125.2 I think it was, which I concluded was due to water weight. I was excited today to see I’m back in the 124 range. I also had a NSV today by upping my daily pushups from 3 sets of 20 reps to 3 sets of 25 push ups. I’ve been doing pushups every day for a week and a half or more and feel like I have already seen a difference in muscle definition 😊. I had remembered reading in the past that your arms are one of the muscle groups you can see a change in relatively quickly. So that was nice to notice yesterday and today 😊.
04/29 124.4 Stayed the same and I’m good with that. It’s been a great day so far, our morning walk was almost 4 miles around our neighborhood. The sun was shining, and it finally felt a little bit like spring again after the rains we had on Sunday and Monday. I even spotted some violets on my walk. Yesterday was a good day food wise and I have today’s menu mapped out and I’ll be pretty close to my calories with two glasses of wine included. (The wine is to celebrate my husband finishing up his semester of grad school. 😊)
04/30 124.4 Stayed the same. Yesterday was a good day and I didn’t even end up drinking last night so I woke up feeling pretty good today. I find my body is sensitive to alcohol and even a glass or two will affect my sleep and the way I feel the next day. I guess it’s a blessing in a way because it makes me want to drink less. This morning I decided to give my muscles a rest and didn’t do my daily push-ups and air squats. I did get in a 3 mile walk this morning before the rain started, so I feel like I’m off to a good start for the day. I’m also looking forward to this weekend. It’s supposed to be 70 on Sunday! Yippee!!
05/01 124.0 Yay! Back to 124 😊. I ate well yesterday and about ¾ of the way through my dinner I decided I wasn’t satisfied so I wrapped it up and decided that I would eat something else to satisfy me. I ended up finishing my dinner with weighed out dried mango and apricots. My dinner was yummy though, it was kale gnocchi from Trader Joe’s mixed with a touch of their canned tomato sauce and 1 cup of their red pepper and tomato soup. I think I’m having a hard time with the 1200 calories and like when I exercise because I eat a little more and feel more satisfied. When I have to stick with 1200 calories, I feel like my meals are pretty small. We haven’t been going out to get food and only getting it delivered from Imperfect Foods, so I haven’t been able to get all of the produce I would like to volume wise. The produce is great from them but my family has been extremely careful with everything coming into the house. So having a ton of produce delivered is a bit of a chore because we are washing everything all at once and it takes like an hour to get it all done. I guess you could say I’m being lazy… because I am. I can’t wait for the days to be normal again and I can go to the store and buy whatever produce I want and not feel as though everything is contaminated. Sorry if that was a little ranty.
05/02 124.0 Yay, still at 124! (I'm not trying to be sarcastic). Yesterday was good food wise, I’m really enjoying weighing my food to know how much I’m putting in my body. For my breakfast yesterday I made myself a chocolate protein mug cake that was divine. It helped my chocolate craving and didn’t get dry or have a weird texture. So that was a solid win. Today was a beautiful day and a good one food wise as well. I intermittent fasted until 11ish today ad started my day with a pineapple beet smoothie and two slices of sprouted cinnamon raisin toast and a smidgen of butter. Then we had baked chicken parm with brown rice and quinoa pasta.
05/03 122.8 I’m so excited! I beat my round goal and I’m so happy! I feel so good despite getting stung five times yesterday while tending our honey bees. I love the way my body feels right now and I don’t have that fluffy feeling in and around my belly/hips area. This was a nice number to wake up to. The last time I was in the 122’s was when I had the flu in February and wasn’t eating for like a week... so naturally that weight came back when I started to feel better and eat. Now I’m eating well and got to that number in a healthy way.

Round 112 Goal: Try not to focus on the fact I'm playing catch-up after going totally off track for 3 to 4 weeks and gaining back 7.2 pounds (180.6). To stay motivated, I need to celebrate the fact I stopped the downward spiral, and be happy with each pound I lose even if it's the second time around. AND quit obsessing over the fact I gained 7 pounds back and just get on with it

04/28 - 183.8 lbs - I logged my foods yesterday. I drank about 80 oz of water too.
04/29 - 182.4 lbs - I logged my food. I drank about 64 oz of water and got on the elliptical for 1 hr.
04/30 - 181.6 lbs - Another successful day logging foods. 20 minutes walk, 40 min elliptical. No snacking!
05/01 - 181.6 lbs -I walked 4 miles and logged foods. Went over on calories. Had a steak with the fixings.
05/02 - 181.6 lbs -Didn't track calories yesterday. I need to start doing it again today. Discipline!

Thai food yesterday. 🌶 I stayed away from the caloric curries, but even so, lots of sodium in stir fry. Overall calories were in line, though, so whatever. I launched my “new” business yesterday — actually long-time business teaching writing classes, workshops, mentees, but now online and on my own, not through the university or school system. 📚✍🏼👩💻Wish me luck! Gorgeous weather! I’m planning a couple of walks (one at a nearby park to see the wildflowers) and at least an hour in the garden. I have to do some baking and delivery over the next few days — our Unitarian-Universalist congregation) is doing a “thinking of and missing you” thingy for staff and members who are home alone through all this. I have four, so bread in the oven for our piano guy. I guess I’ll do one a day unless I resort to a big batch of cookies or a couple of quick breads. I think it’s a lovely way to reach out and “hug” at a distance. Have a lovely Saturday!

04/27 DNW today. I live with my in-laws and the scale vanished from the bathroom because I think my sister in law used it to weigh her cat. So I took that as a sign from the universe to just wait until tomorrow morning. I didn’t sleep so great and woke up at 4AM wide awake, so I’m hoping that doesn’t affect my appetite too much today. I’m hoping to be down from 125.2 tomorrow morning. It was a weekend filled with birthday dinners for my husband but I did manage to stay relatively close to calorie goals. Last night I probably went over by about 150 or so, which isn’t a killer. I also focused on drinking more water yesterday but lacked enough fiber. So drinking a good amount of water and getting enough fiber today is my goal today!
04/28 124.4 Down back into the 124 range. Dipped last round to 124 and bounced back up to 125.6 then down to 125.2 I think it was, which I concluded was due to water weight. I was excited today to see I’m back in the 124 range. I also had a NSV today by upping my daily pushups from 3 sets of 20 reps to 3 sets of 25 push ups. I’ve been doing pushups every day for a week and a half or more and feel like I have already seen a difference in muscle definition 😊. I had remembered reading in the past that your arms are one of the muscle groups you can see a change in relatively quickly. So that was nice to notice yesterday and today 😊.
04/29 124.4 Stayed the same and I’m good with that. It’s been a great day so far, our morning walk was almost 4 miles around our neighborhood. The sun was shining, and it finally felt a little bit like spring again after the rains we had on Sunday and Monday. I even spotted some violets on my walk. Yesterday was a good day food wise and I have today’s menu mapped out and I’ll be pretty close to my calories with two glasses of wine included. (The wine is to celebrate my husband finishing up his semester of grad school. 😊)
04/30 124.4 Stayed the same. Yesterday was a good day and I didn’t even end up drinking last night so I woke up feeling pretty good today. I find my body is sensitive to alcohol and even a glass or two will affect my sleep and the way I feel the next day. I guess it’s a blessing in a way because it makes me want to drink less. This morning I decided to give my muscles a rest and didn’t do my daily push-ups and air squats. I did get in a 3 mile walk this morning before the rain started, so I feel like I’m off to a good start for the day. I’m also looking forward to this weekend. It’s supposed to be 70 on Sunday! Yippee!!
05/01 124.0 Yay! Back to 124 😊. I ate well yesterday and about ¾ of the way through my dinner I decided I wasn’t satisfied so I wrapped it up and decided that I would eat something else to satisfy me. I ended up finishing my dinner with weighed out dried mango and apricots. My dinner was yummy though, it was kale gnocchi from Trader Joe’s mixed with a touch of their canned tomato sauce and 1 cup of their red pepper and tomato soup. I think I’m having a hard time with the 1200 calories and like when I exercise because I eat a little more and feel more satisfied. When I have to stick with 1200 calories, I feel like my meals are pretty small. We haven’t been going out to get food and only getting it delivered from Imperfect Foods, so I haven’t been able to get all of the produce I would like to volume wise. The produce is great from them but my family has been extremely careful with everything coming into the house. So having a ton of produce delivered is a bit of a chore because we are washing everything all at once and it takes like an hour to get it all done. I guess you could say I’m being lazy… because I am. I can’t wait for the days to be normal again and I can go to the store and buy whatever produce I want and not feel as though everything is contaminated. Sorry if that was a little ranty.
05/02 124.0 Yay, still at 124! (I'm not trying to be sarcastic). Yesterday was good food wise, I’m really enjoying weighing my food to know how much I’m putting in my body. For my breakfast yesterday I made myself a chocolate protein mug cake that was divine. It helped my chocolate craving and didn’t get dry or have a weird texture. So that was a solid win. Today was a beautiful day and a good one food wise as well. I intermittent fasted until 11ish today ad started my day with a pineapple beet smoothie and two slices of sprouted cinnamon raisin toast and a smidgen of butter. Then we had baked chicken parm with brown rice and quinoa pasta.
05/03 122.8 I’m so excited! I beat my round goal and I’m so happy! I feel so good despite getting stung five times yesterday while tending our honey bees. I love the way my body feels right now and I don’t have that fluffy feeling in and around my belly/hips area. This was a nice number to wake up to. The last time I was in the 122’s was when I had the flu in February and wasn’t eating for like a week... so naturally that weight came back when I started to feel better and eat. Now I’m eating well and got to that number in a healthy way. I hope everyone has a wonderful Sunday!

Thank you so much for that, it means a lot! I have had a pretty constant up and down with food but I’m determined to keep at it this time because I want to continue feeling amazing Yea, the ladies were a little feisty yesterday but that’s life. I still love them and they make me happy when I see them carrying in bags of pollen for their peeps. The picture shows the yellow and orange pollen they’ve been bringing in. I hope the picture doesn’t creep anyone out, so sorry in advance if it does!

It’s scary to think about increased risk for getting sick with loosening restrictions. Mixed emotions. For some reason feeling encouraged today. Yoga 30 min. Jazzercise 20 min. Diet was not good quality. If anyone reads this and has any tips about how to become a morning exerciser before work let me know. I think it would really help me schedule wise, but I’ve never been able to drag myself out of bed early to do it.

04/26 …..204.3….. ENDING WEIGHT LAST ROUND Weight was inflated due to travel & Chinese food the day before. Therefore, my hope is to lose a full 2 pounds (or more) this round to be at a 0.1 deficit (or more). If the travel yesterday caused suspected water weight, this, at minimum should be attainable.
04/27 …..203.2 ….. And there goes the water from the Chinese Food two days ago. Now, to work on the weight gain. Goal: 202.3 or less. I worked hard yesterday doing a mix-up of movement and exercise. Very sore knees over the past couple of days due to some of my exercise choices so I’m keeping an eye on that. I pray today will be a strong day. It is Sunny & beautiful today with no rain expected until after 8:00 PM tonight so I plan on taking advantage of that. I will be traveling tomorrow for carpeting about 200 miles away each way. Carpet sales were prohibited until May 1st so I’m getting my butt out there to get the 7 different pieces/sizes that I need. Good luck everyone on this round!

04/29 …..208.4 ….. Are you flipping kidding me????? Yes, I double-checked the scale several times. Travel yesterday consisted of no snacks, a light lunch and a small dinner I split into two portions (brought the other one home). High sodium Thai dinner with real rice (not cauliflower) so I know I’m retaining some water but this is crazy! I did eat the other half of the dinner at about 1:00 AM (about 3 hours before I went to bed). Today is cold, very gloomy and depressing with lots of rain. I will be indoors all day but I will be walking my hallways, using my ski machine etc. Lots of Parsley tea for me today! It was a long trip and when we arrived I could not even bring home the carpet. They did not have enough of the color/style I chose so they have ordered it precut in my sizes (I need 6 pieces). So next week will be another trip. Better choices next time!
04/30 …..207.9 ….. I peed all night so the water is shedding from the travel food. Traveling 3 times in the past week has made my journey a little rough this past week, but moving forward and soldiering on. I am going to work on some cleaning projects today in my house so I will try to stay fairly active but sorting clothing and going through paperwork does not involve a lot of steps so I will try to fit in some sets of other things. Yesterday I managed to burn an extra 858 calories with exercise. It is cold and rainy again here so I’ll be staying inside.

Today we are supposed to have a record breaking high for April, 102 degrees!
4/30 119.5 Well, I ate very strangely yesterday. A lot more veggies than usual and an adequate amount of protein. But when I got on the scale this morning it said 109.0 - I haven’t been that light since I was 4’6” in 5th grade! - I knew that was wrong. I got on 3 times and finally got a reasonable weight. May be time for a new battery! TWC app says we hit 100 in our area yesterday but the official temp fell short of the record. Another chance today - it was 82 at 7:30 this morning but it’s cloudy now.

04/29 - 126.3 Obviously the extra 100-200 cal over my cal goal on the 27th and then no sleep on the 28th didn't negatively affect my weightloss. I'm very happy about that. As long as I keep up a little bit of activity throughout the day, I should be able to include my nightly craving for extra sharp cheddar lol
04/30 - 126.3 I'm not too worried about the scale not moving. I ate popcorn last night and I use a grotesque amount of salt in mine lol As long as I drink lots of water today and continue as normal I'm sure the scale will drop tomorrow.
05/01 - 126.3 again. Yesterday I went waaay over my limit. I ate taco bell, Hawaiian pizza, but it mostly had to do with the entire bottle of wine I drank. Just happy I maintained instead of gained.
05/02 - 129.2 YIKES I ate almost 900 over my goal and went on a 2-mile run followed by a mile walk to cooldown. I'm hoping it'll go down and is mostly water along with food weight. Guess we'll see tomorrow.
05/03 - 128...maybe? I stepped on the scale and it was 129.2 Did it a couple of times, still 129.2. Then I tried it again and it went to 128, now it won't change from 128. Yesterday I met my calories goal, drank water, used the restroom, and I'm feeling mega bummed. I'm thinking I won't make my goal of 125 and that feels awful. I really sabotaged myself the last couple of days.

@IsMollyReallyHungry DD was married to this same fellow in Dec, 2006. They had met on May 1 that same year, hence picking 5/1 for the remarriage. They were married for about 6.5 years the first time, I think. They have been seeing each other again for at least a year, maybe they never stopped. 05/01: 232.0 (-1.2)/19.8 (-0.1). Hi everybody. I've missed you all, and this place. I've been trying to dip my toe back into the idea of getting myself healthy again, with little success. It's frustrating to have gotten (again) so close to my all-time highest weight. Every time this happens (my relapse), I initially (for a while, actually) beat myself up for getting into this place again. It's easy to forget how stressful life is right now for just about everyone, and how it might be a decent idea to give myself a break. Especially when I look in the mirror. I've been tracking my food successfully now for a few days, but not being able to go to the gym or play basketball has significantly inhibited my ability to perform enjoyable exercise activities. I bought some home gym equipment (rowing machine and sliding gravity weight-lifting machine) at the beginning of COVID-19 lockdown, but my motivation to use it has been sporadic.
05/02: 230.8 (-1.2)/19.7 (-0.1). Six days in, 7.6 lbs and 0.9 BF% down. I still don't think this is sustainable (check that... I KNOW this is not sustainable), but already my massive gut (from 4/26) is looking better. I know that it will be harder to notice a difference later, so I'm appreciative of this moment, where things are moving fast and it's easy to see. I've been doing really well at staying within my calorie goal each day, even with "splurges." Last night I had a beer with dinner, but I planned on that earlier in the day by reducing my snack intake. It's early, and there will still be ups and downs, but being here works (community support and friendship). Counting calories works. There's simply no reason for me NOT to be here. I like being here. AND I love all of you for being here, too. I'm going to work on integrating some exercise into my daily life at home.
05/03: 230.2 (-0.6)/19..6 (-0.1). I was over my calories by about 300 yesterday, though I tend to overestimate my food intake a bit (purposely). My alcohol and "crap" intake(s) have decreased dramatically since I've been back; I think it has a lot to do with simply tracking my food. So far, so good. I'm feeling lazy today.

My biggest goal I would like to accomplish (outside of weight loss) is my evening snacking. I’m trying to focus on not eating after 8pm.... I can do great all day but after the kids are in bed I raid the fridge and cabinets sometimes adding 300-400 calories/day.

70 year old female...5'5" ...I used to be 5'7" but arthritis hit and I lost two inches, so now that two inches is squished around my waist like the billows of a big accordion...
...Oh, well. I'll just keep working on it.
We used to walk 5 miles a day. A pinched nerve and back surgery side-lined me for about a year. Then I had back surgery. Then I had hip surgery March 10th. Recovery is slow. Sure do want to be back walking!

It’s amazing to me how much I resent this, how different my attitude about posting to this thread is when I’m just making up for self-lost ground rather than moving ahead on my journey. As much as my 2 week plateau bothered me, I knew I was doing the work and there was nothing more I can do. Now I’m still doing the work but my mindset feels different. Oh well, I will just keep grinding away at this 1.2 so that I can start moving forward. Life is a journey.
05/03 186.4 Still going down. Another 0.4 to recover all my gains. I have decided to take a maintenance week and set my calorie target higher. Not sure I will try to eat fully at the higher target, but it worked for yesterday to know I had some extra room even if I didn’t use it all. Most important thing is to eliminate emotional eating binges that set me back before I worry about losing more.

I joined MFP on March 27, 2010 weighing in at 388 pounds. I was re-gaining weight and stumbled up on it while trying to get back on track. I was determined never to see 400+ on that scale again for me.
I have been morbidly obese all my life. I have a lifetime of mental and physical scars from obesity. In October 2004 I had Gastric Bypass surgery. WLS (Weight Loss Surgery) was the best gift that I could and did give to myself.
Between 2008 and 2010 I gradually gained back 80 of almost 300 pounds lost initially after weight loss surgery. I never reached my goal weight of 200 pounds. I still managed to keep off over 65 percent of the weight I lost which is very good and I am very proud of my accomplishments since 2004. It has literally changed my life for the better on all levels. I am here to lose re-gained weight and to reach my initial goal weight. I am in no hurry. I am taking this one day at a time and I am in it for the long haul.
Surgery did not fix the head. It is a good tool and the best gift I have given to myself, but it was not the easy way out as many people think. Once the honeymoon period is over after the WLS it is up to the patient to keep the weight off.
On August 29, 2011-- I was admitted to Intensive Out Patient Eating Disorder Program to learn how to manage my binge eating disorder effectively. The program is wonderful indeed and will be instrumental in me reaching all of my goals. The focus of this program was how to eat and not diet. Weight loss was not a goal of the program. I actually gained 20 pounds in program. But I had to get thru a lot of stuff and my the time I was released I had stopped gaining. I was discharged from program on December 3, 2011.
My tool is still working for me today. My head is still the issue. SO the struggle continues. I will never beat myself up again. I fight the fine fight faithfully and positively everyday. Because that is what will get me to my goals one day. Even though it may not show up on the scale every day -- Everyday I make progress one way or another just by showing up, waking up and trying.
Giving up is not an option for me. Perseverance, Patience, & Positive thinking will help me reach my goals…… and the same is true for you too!! We have the power within us. *One of my major goals is to get my BMI under 40 (260 weight) so I can have surgery on my knees *

I'm just too danged cussed to let this thing knock me back, and ruin all the effort I have put in to get here. I am stepping up my routine, and taking control. Sheltering in place means I can fully concentrate on getting in my exercise, and preparing healthy food.

REMINDERS One or two thoughts which might give heart to some of you.Stick with the process. It DOES work! But it does take time, effort, and most of all, patience!- Daily weight fluctuations are normal, and can be as much as 2 lbs a day for no apparent reason.
- A general downward trend is what we are looking for.
- Eating out can cause apparent weight gain because of high sodium levels, but usually goes quickly. Drinking extra water helps with this.
- The human body does not react instantly to what we do to it. Sometimes it can take several days to see results.
- Plateaus are a normal part of the process. The body is consolidating and adapting to your new way of eating/exercising.
- The closer you get to your goal weight, the more difficult it becomes to lose weight, as your body becomes more efficient at using what you feed it.
- When you exercise you build muscle, which takes up less space than fat, so use measurements as well as weight to assess your progress.
- Getting/Staying fit and healthy requires a lifestyle change for most people.

05/01–174—I figured yesterday’s uptick was salt and expected a drop, but am SO thankful for it. I did hit my water goal yesterday, which I haven’t been doing consistently for months. Yesterday doesn’t make it consistent, but it’s a start back in the right direction. Did well with food choices too. I’m slightly encouraged by the feeling that, for one day at least, I was able to be back in control of what I put in my freaking mouth!
05/02–173.4—Got in all my water yesterday, did well with food, and also got in two miles of walking after dinner. Steps: 11,206. Yesterday felt good, and a comment that @quiltingjane made was dead on—One Day at a Time. I think it’s clear that I’m a food addict and have been my whole life. I’ve had a relapse over the last 8-10 months, but it’s time to give up those bad habits again and make new ones like I had done before. I did it once. I can do it again.

04/27: 140 (+.4) Lol. Burned 850 calories doing a 3 hour bike ride and I gain weight? Maybe just working through the 3 liters of water and electrolytes I drank. Had pasta for dinner and some margaritas but don’t think it was over calories. The body is truly just a chemical reaction.
04/28 (138.8 (-.2) Got a nice walk in yesterday. – rest day from the bike. Added some core and strength.
04/29 (138.6) (-.2) Ate ok yesterday and did a nice ride.
04/30 (138.6) (0) Never believe it when it doesn’t change. Scale is lazy on some days. Aren’t we all. Had a great salad for dinner. Heading out for a walk in this gorgeous weather.
05/01 (139.2) (+.6) Did a ride and some core work. Food was ok.
05/02 (138.6) (-.6) Walked and rode today. Going to attempt to make pizza today…..
05/03 (138.8) (+.2) Ate late and it was pizza. I did a long ride today so I needed to carbo load.
