Tracey, yes i think all of us here in France were thinking we might have "it" when we had the minorist of symptoms as the symptoms became so diverse. A friend had return of hayfever after decades without and had trouble breathing and a firm clinical confirmation of "it". but in fact when tests became available she was tested negative (apparently didn't have "it") though most of those seriological are not 100%. but she did turn out to have hayfever again, so it seems to be that.

I lived w a med student and he told me about how there was a thing in medschool to think you had a lot of things as you learned about them.
When a teen or in 20s my good friend said she and her sister would say "yeah i had cancer again last week" joking about their fear of potential seriousness of various symptoms.

Heather, it is so hot here too. 93°. No beach here (i AM jealous). not my fave. Supposed to meet fellow classmate today at 5pm (hottest time) in a café. I planned to walk there (about 20 min) but no way.
I did go for a fast walk this morning early w heart rate monitor to be sure i wasn't ambling and strolling most of the time.

Machka yeah a real change in travel context.

Heather, i close the curtains, shades, shutters and windows all day and open them late, late, not before 10pm. and put the fan on late and early morning. It's 93 now but was 63 in early morning. Thunder expected and the temps are supposed to go down to between 73 low and 83 tomorrow. My place is north-facing 6th floor, windows very poorly insulated (don't always close properly, old metal frames, single pane from 70s.) An apartment opens only to one side but 6th floor helps make it a bit breezier sometimes. i bought a new fan online at beginning of lockdown and it is not as good as it seemed online, even with reviews..

Just announced here ... a 5K and 10K event usually held in the northern part of the state in October is being held as a virtual event this year.

I've pencilled it onto the calendar. 10K might be nice to aim for. :) I can run 5K fairly consistently, although not fast, now.

machka: Bravissimo! Positive vibes for his speedy recovery from the surgery! Great use of the waiting time!!!

We got a decent parking spot with no fees, and I wanted to run some errands in the city, and the sun was shining for the first day in a while, so I figured it was a good opportunity to get a good walk in. :)

I arrived back at the hospital 2 hours later, but he was taking his time coming out of the anaesthetic. Just a bit longer than they were anticipating. I wasn't allowed in to see him or sit with him, so I went for another walk and found a little bit of lunch.

Then I paced the parking lot a bit, which I didn't count in my total. Finally I started feeling really sleepy (I had to get up at 6 am which I hardly ever do!), so I sat in the van. And finally they rang me to come in and get him. He was quite chipper and chatty ... I'm never like that coming out of anaesthetic, so I have to hand it to the anaesthetist for giving him the right concoction.

When we came home, he didn't feel sleepy but he laid down to rest with some gardening magazines ... and I laid down on the sofa and was out like a light for 1.5 hours!

He's a little sore but not doing too badly so far and if it is nice tomorrow, we might go for a little walk. :)

Dr Katie: Glad to hear that DH is getting on well after his surgery.

    Hello everyone.

It has been a few busy days for me. I cannot believe it is pre-Friday! Oh, how I love this day. Actually, I love all days, the good, the bad, and the ugly. If I wake up it’s another day I have on this planet we call earth.

My best friend contacted me two days ago and she would like to come for a short or long visit. I have no problem having her in my house – she has been in lock down since the start of this thing and does not go out due to severely reduced mobility. She has made plans in the past so I am trying not to get too excited, but it’s hard.

Machka – I was glad to hear everything went well with your DH’s procedure and you felt comfortable with the medical team. Sending healing thoughts.

Katla – Would love to see a pic of you astride Arrow.

Tracey – Oh, no leveling! Will that have an effect on the deck too? Glad you were able to get your hair done. Doesn’t it feel nice to be groomed?!

Cell Phones – I always laugh when we have these conversations. We are NEVER not (sorry for the double negative) tracked when we use/carry our cellphones. We call and text everyone from everywhere, we check our accounts, we pay for things, we order things, we visit sites, etc. Yes, we can set privacy settings and avoid certain apps, but the reality is – it really does not matter. We are watched/tracked all of the time. My viewpoint is…..I do not do anything illegal so let them track my boring life!!

Checks – Still using for some merchants because they want to charge me for paying online. Sorry – I am not going to pay someone to get my money quicker. When the cost of a stamp is higher than the online fees that will be a different story.

Pip – Yeah! Two week notice!!!!! I am so happy and excited for you. DNA testing – LMAO…..but, I guess it keeps those picking up after their beasts.

On Dog Droppings – OK, everyone is going to think I am so bad. A neighbor got in to the habit of not picking up after her very large dogs. Since I am in a town home community it is impossible to avoid those piles when walking to and from my car and the mailbox. After cursing under my breath for weeks and after everyone left for work (I was remote that day) I picked up all of the piles and placed them in a bag (there was like 10 pounds of the stuff). I tied it off and put a very nice note on the bag stating if she did not start picking it up the next time I delivered the piles to her door they would not be in a bag. Problem solved! I know it was a passive/aggressive move. Normally I would just talk to someone if I saw it happening but she was purposely walking the dogs when no one was (or so she thought) watching.

Heather – So happy you had some time with your friend. Although we have technology to see each other it still is not quite the same as being with someone in close proximity. I love the current movement of all being free to be who they feel they should be. Even the use of the term non-binary is putting people in to a group, but it does allow for us to learn about how others view themselves and the world.

Lisa – The glider turned out great! It is so much fun seeing how different we can make something.

Ginny – Sorry to hear about your staff member. Hopefully it is a mild case and he can heal at home. I have a feeling as time passes each and every one of us will know someone.

Vicki – Sorry to hear about the work hours and the hives. Also about the lack of cause/determination.

Allie – I just shake my head – who knows what SIL stated to doctor. Oh, but of course how would she know? She really does not care for her mom.

Kim – I think we have all learned a little more about ourselves. It’s a great feeling to flip the negatives.

Karen – How sweet of you to run out for chocolate ice cream. Wish I had some right now! LOL…..I need to keep that stuff out of the house.

Beth – It sounds like nothing has changed with the individuals at your place of employment. Sorry! Glad you are able to get a haircut. I certainly felt like a new person after I had gotten mine cut.

Rori – Glad to hear from you. Big hugs and waves of support.

Well, it’s time for me to put my butt back in to gear and earn my living.

    Hugs to all,
    SuziQ – SFL

Karen--They did scope to find out where the bleeding was and they found some small uclers but nothing that would cause blood loss. So they figured I wasn't making red blood cells. Things are slowing building up, but still feel weak and get tired really easy. I don't eat much meat as can't chew it, do eat seafood and fish. Been years since I have had a period and can say I am very happy about that.
Machka--So glad all went well with DH's surgery.
This week is flying by and more business are opening. I just think I never went before the lockdown and not interested in going now. Just seems so strange to see people wearing masks.
