07/26 DNW, but it’s good to be back at a deficit and so much easier after the break. I’d been struggling a bit before, so I’m hoping the reset helps with adhering to my diet. I didn’t weigh in this morning because I was camping last night. First weigh in will be tomorrow.
07/27 202.6. I’m pretty happy about this since it was what my last and lowest weigh in was before the diet break. I’ve only been back at a deficit for two days.
07/28 200.8. Wow. I expect it will bump up a bit since that's the way the process goes, but I'm really glad that the break I took didn't derail me from losing.
07/29 199.6. Yay! I have not seen this number in five years. At some point it's going to bump back up a bit, but soon enough I won't ever see the 200s again.
07/30 200. Glad I got to see the 190s before the bump up. Probably will see them again this round.
07/31 200.4
08/01 200.6. NSV: Jeans I've been wanting to wear that couldn't be gotten past my hips July 15 can be buttoned as of today. One of my goals is to fit comfortably into them by Labour Day. I haven't been able to wear them since the fall of 2014.
08/02 202. Ate above maintenance yesterday.
08/03 203.4. Monday is almost always the highest day of my week. Extra carbs and eating at maintenance on weekends are the reason. I'll be back at a lower weight by Friday (usually my lightest day of the week).

7/26: 235.2 (+1.6)/20.2 (+0.2). I had some company over last night (social-distancing on the outdoor patio), and I had a "cheat-meal" and three drinks. The meal was more of a quantity issue than quality; I'm going to treat it like the "slip" it was. I have another "outing" this evening (outdoor social-distancing visit) with my wife at my brother-in-law's home. I'm not sure what we're eating, but I'm going to go into it with portion control (and no more more than a drink or two) in mind.
7/27: 235.8 (+0.6)/20.2 (0.0). I went to with my wife to my brother-in-law's yesterday, and "it could have been worse." I had a couple of drinks, I ate reasonably (probably 1.5 times what I would have had if I was alone), and it's really hard to stay on target when I'm not completely in control of everything. Spending time with others twice in a short weekend (every other weekend is three days for me) is unusual. I'm going to be 100% on-plan for the next five days (including this one). Let's see how long it takes to get back to where I was this past Friday. I'm adjusting my goal for this week, hoping that I can end up where I started at the end of last challenge.
7/28: 234.8 (-1.0)/20.1 (-0.1). It always feels good to see the scale move in the right direction. I stuck to my plan 100% yesterday, I had lots of water, and I got lots of rest. My back is feeling MUCH better, although it's "tender" in one spot that does not make much sense to me. I used Salonpas on it a couple of times, in that one spot, but I haven't used it for at least four days. It remains very sensitive in that one spot, but not sensitive in a "back pain" sort of way. It feels almost like I had a really bad sunburn, but only in that spot. Nothing is swollen, and the area has no discoloration or redness. Maybe it's time to contact my doctor.
7/29: 233.4 (-1.4)/20.0 (-0.1). Ah, the beginning stages of weight loss! It's so much fun to be able to make up for a "slightly bad" weekend with two days of sticking to my plan. And, as write this, I understand that this is not usually how it works. In my life, it takes 2-3 times the effort to counteract the effects of any one "moment." Remembering this helps keep me on track. It keeps me from grabbing for that last drink, from eating that last bite, and from sometimes engaging in behaviors that are not consistent with my goals. Thank you to everyone who has expressed concern about my back (and about me in general). I'm seeing my chiropractor today, so hopefully I'll have some good news tomorrow. As always, when I'm in this group, I feel loved.
7/30: 233.0 (-0.4)/19.9 (-0.1). I slightly oversnacked last night, but I was overall on-point and sticking to my plan. I also made it to the chiropractor yesterday. I actually had a bit of a lower back spasm while I was on the table, but he was still able to adjust me, so I'm hopeful my back will get back to normal soon. He didn't seem concerned about my "sensitivity" in that area of my lower back. He said that Salonpas is known to cause some skin/soft tissue irritation; plus, it seems to be feeling less sensitive every day. Other good news: I'm having a pool table installed on my covered patio tomorrow morning, and I'm getting a table tennis "top" for it soon, so I should have some reasons to get off my @$$ soon. I miss basketball, and I miss going to the gym, but I really need to get my body moving. Sad news: I went to see my "brother" yesterday (my mother's 15-year-old American Eskimo), probably for the last time. My poor little old man can barely walk, but he's absolutely beautiful (he looks like he's 4 or 5 years old). I said my goodbyes, but I'm quick-to-tears today thinking about him.
7/31: 232.4 (-0.6)/19.9 (-0.1). My pool table is being installed as we speak, which I'm excited about. Sticking to my diet is working out to be pretty easy at the moment, but exercise has been much harder to "work back in." I did not talk with my mother yesterday about her dog, so I think I'll check in with her today. I'm a little bit scared that I'm going to get some bad news, but I know it's the right thing to do. I'm trying to get better at dealing with death and grief.
8/1: 230.8 (-1.6)/19.7 (-0.2). Two weeks in, 10.2 lbs down (wife is down 3.0, but has much less to lose than I do). This weekend is a three-day weekend for me (I get every other Monday off); my niece's birthday party is Sunday, and my in-laws are coming over Monday (all events outdoors, with masks, and socially-distanced). This means increased temptation(s) and lack of complete control regarding my food intake. I'm going to try to change the narrative of what a "weekend" means for me (I love "The Weeknd" by the way). I will have a drink or two tomorrow, but that's it; and my brother is pretty good at generally encouraging portion control, even without me asking. On Monday I will not drink at all, and I think I can get away with eating my own food (my wife can get/make something for the in-laws if she wants to). I'll have a little bit (very small portion) of dessert at the birthday party, but likely none with the in-laws. I still haven't uncovered or played with my pool table, but that is definitely going to happen today. I hope everyone has a great weekend!
8/2: 230.6 (-0.2)/19.7 (0.0). I had three glasses of wine last night (maybe 3.5) while my wife and I broke in our pool table, but I also skipped a snack I would have normally had. I'll count that as breaking even (or close to it). I am still undefeated on my new pool table; my wife "had" me one game (had a shot at the eight ball, but knocked it and the cue ball in for a game-ending scratch), but I pretty much kicked her butt the rest of the night. It's my niece's birthday party tonight, and my brother apparently ordering take-out sushi for everyone. Yes, my 8-year-old niece loves sushi. The great news is they're ordering from a place has pretty clear nutritional information, so I know what I'll be eating tonight (which drastically improves my ability to "plan for it"). I'm feeling a little different today, in a good way; I think my face is just starting to thin out. My next NSV would be to be able to comfortably button my shorts. I can currently get them closed, but I am far from comfortable doing so. I also think I'm ready to get back on the exercise wagon. I'll start by dusting off the rowing machine to see if I go for 5-10 minutes. I'll shoot for every other day for the next couple of days, and see how that feels. On my "off" days I'll try to do some resistance exercises. I really wish my gym was open. It's so much easier for me to get a comprehensive workout there.
8/3: 231.4 (+0.8)/19.8 (+0.1). I went a little heavy with Sushi last night, I had two beers, and I shared a giant piece of cake with my wife (which I chose NOT to finish). It's still the weekend, though, so it's always going to be tough. I'm going to fast until lunch today. My in-laws are coming over, and bringing lunch or dinner with them. I am going to do my best to REALLY control things. So far I'm up less than one pound for the weekend, which is not bad, especially considering that I had a night of drinking Saturday and a party yesterday.

Medium range goal - I turn 60 in early October, so the goal is to be under 300. It would mean I've lost over 100 lbs. in just under a year AND first time under 300 since my late 40's.

Day/Weight/Comment
07/26 - 326.9 - Huge uptick. Overate yesterday and my last meal got me sick and bloated. Not sure if it was undercooked (ribs) or something else, but I'll be preparing them differently next time.
07/27 - 329.0 - Strictly an excess of calories over the weekend. Prolly why I felt ill over the weekend (too much food). I'll be interested to see how much I drop by Saturday weight-in, since it normally reflects the largest, final, end-of-the-week drop.
07/28 - 324.2 - I knew it would drop, but with two small workouts (one aerobic, one weights), the drop was more than I hoped. I'm almost back to where I was Saturday morning. Sometimes you just find the *thing* that clicks and works for you. Over the years, like SO many, I've tried a variety of things. And then I just stumbled across intermittent fasting. I started with the standard 16:8 and slowly moved over to 20:4. I began watching Dr. Jason Fung, who is probably the formost authority on the subject and he spoke of alt. day IF. I worked up the nerve to try it. For someone that LOVES to eat, like I do, it was ALOT of nerve. I'm now starting my fourth week. Per Dr. Fung, there is no reason why the loss won't continue. Now down about 15 lbs. in those 3+ weeks. A little fast, but one by-product is that the loose skin gets eaten from autophagy/ketosis. And there are numerous other health benefits, too, not just the weight loss. I'm just very excited that something works that doesn't limit the foods I eat
07/29 - 327.7 - I always expect the uptick the day after eating. A little high since I drink so much in the morning, but I'm still OK since the weekly trend is down. I try to focus only on the Saturday weigh-in week over week.
07/30 - 323.5 - And the beat goes on... I'm gonna be close to making my medium range goal, but just losing 100 lbs. seems so distant.
07/31 - 324.6 - Only a 1 pound uptick. Looks like I might have a shot at making my goal for this round, IF I can get in 2 workouts before tomorrow's weigh-in. Made it to the gym this afternoon. Got a decent back workout in, plus 30 mins. on an eliptical (@ 75% heart rate 161 bmp max x .75 = 121 avg.)
08/01 - 322.6 - Not quite there, but I've still got 3 days. The good part is that the last weigh-in day is right after a 42 hour fast.
08/02 - 326.7 - OK, not happy about the uptick, but if there is little rise tomorrow, then I'll be ok. I like going to the gym very early, like before 6AM, but on weekends it doesn't open until 7AM, which does not work for me. I'll have to think of ways to change my plan.
08/03 - 324.0 - Well... that's a welcome surprise. After 2 days of eating, I'm only up 1.6 lbs., yet down 2.7 from yesterday.

Goal for Round 121 - 57.0kg
Day/Weight/Comment
7/26 - 57.3kg, back on track yesterday and today, I felt awful after eating all the junk on Friday, thanks for the hugs :-)
7/27 - 57.0kg already at goal for this round but the challenge will be to maintain it!
7/28 - 57.0kg, holding steady, not much walking because I'm dog-sitting 24/7 and she is not allowed to walk :-/
7/29 - 56.9kg, back to where I was a week ago... where to from here? I need to do some yoga to stay fit...
7/30 - 56.7kg, that's 125 pounds! Yay! Yoga is a must do so I need to quit fobbing it off.
7/31 - 56.8kg, too much chocolate yesterday, although I do recommend the Tunnocks Caramel wafer, only 130 calories...
8/01 - 57.3kg, ugh, couldn't stop eating, could it be the carbs. Sick of logging food so didn't.
8/02 - 57.4kg, another crappy day with unbridled eating, so am cutting out carbs for a bit and not logging starting today
8/03 - 57.3kg, tentatively back on track now. Not logging again but keeping it real.
8/04 – 56.7kg, big drop which may not last but I've finished the round better than expected.
I'm switching to maintenance now and think weighing everyday is too tedious. I'm grateful for this challenge and will definitely step back in if things get out of hand. Thanks to everyone for all the support!8 -

I'm just too danged cussed to let this thing knock me back, and ruin all the effort I have put in to get here. I am stepping up my routine, and taking control. Sheltering in place means I can fully concentrate on getting in my exercise, and preparing healthy food.
July: focus is on improving stamina, strength, flexibility, which may impact the scale
Aims:
- 2020: Goal is to stabilise weight around 145
- Strengthen strategies to reframe the tendency to use unhealthy snack food as a reward/treat.
- Make sure I have prepared healthy snacks available
- Cut down on eating between meals by keeping busy

THERE ARE NO QUICK FIXES OR SHORTCUTS to achieving permanent change.
REMINDERS One or two thoughts which might give heart to some of you.- Daily weight fluctuations are normal, and can be as much as 2 lbs a day for no apparent reason.
- A general downward trend is what we are looking for.
- Eating out can cause apparent weight gain because of high sodium levels, but usually goes quickly. Drinking extra water helps with this.
- The human body does not react instantly to what we do to it. Sometimes it can take several days to see results.
- Plateaus are a normal part of the process. The body is consolidating and adapting to your new way of eating/exercising.
- The closer you get to your goal weight, the more difficult it becomes to lose weight, as your body becomes more efficient at using what you feed it.
- When you exercise you build muscle, which takes up less space than fat, so use measurements as well as weight to assess your progress.
- Getting/Staying fit and healthy requires a lifestyle change for most people.

7/30 - 66.6kg, looks like my body is getting rid of all the extra food I've eaten in the weeks before starting this challenge. Also happy to see that early dinner yesterday and just tea in the evening worked well! Really trying to get into the habit of not eating too late.
7/31 - 66.6kg, went out for a bike ride, but had some unhealthy snacks later on. Gotta remember it's not perfection I'm aiming for but balance and healthy results.
8/01 - 66.7kg, yesterday's eating caught up with me. Today was such a good day! Drank lots of water, did a light workout, ate healthy foods and had dinner early, then went for a walk. Feeling great ☺️
8/02 - 66.6kg, not really getting there huh😂 Had a lovely day with the family, trying to make drinking 2L of water per day a habit.
8/03 - 66.2kg, woah! I was waiting for progress but I wasn't expecting this! Gotta keep it down now.💪
8/04 – 65.9kg, what a tumultuous 10 days this has been (even if my weight doesn’t exactly reflect the fluctuations of motivation and discipline). I am so glad I stuck with it! I love this format and reading all of your little updates - so inspiring. Definitely joining the next round!8 -
JUST GIVE ME 10 DAYS ~|~ Round 121 (round 53 for me ) I'm in for another round (of course!) – I need to just keep going! Yet again thank you @GrandmaJackie such a champion particularly in these unprecedented & unsettled times, helping keep some stability in our lives, for setting up these challenges.
Female age 62 5' 4” - Achieved goal weigh of 125lb in summer 2016 by losing 66lb and have gradually gained between 7 and 11 since then; I don't want to gain any more, but would like to get back to my goal weight – I'm working at it – it's a permanent way of life !
Goal for this round – re-lose those 2 pounds ! - get back to & stick with good habits: be mindful of what I eat & drink, keep walking, no binges, really want to keep the 10 days binge free! Keep calm, wash hands, be kind and follow all latest Government guidelines for C-19 virus.End of round 69 134.2 lbsKeep calm – we're all in this together!

Day/Weight/Comment
07/26 136.2 what !!!! 453 calories in credit, but 23 carbs over – 9.79 miles walked yesterday.
07/27 135.6 – only 3.74 miles walked yesterday, (travelled up to take DGS#1 out for the day), hence 54 calories and 75 carbs over. DGS#2 placed on transplant list last night
07/28 134.4 – 9.78 miles walked yesterday, 623 calories in credit, all macros well in green. I am gutted; I am 2 years too old to become a living liver donor to DGS, but encouraging news is that so many of my extended family have also volunteered, lets hope that one of them is compatible and he holds on till a suitable donor can be found – he is very ill now
07/29 134.4 - 364 calories in credit, 3g fat over. DGS update; my niece's husband is a potential match for live donor, awaiting blood results and a scan on Friday, just hope the dear little one can hold on that long
07/30 134.4 - 12.9 miles walked yesterday. 603 calories in credit, all other macros in green.
07/31 135.4 - 4.5 miles walked, over on calories & other macros, also didn't get all water in; took elder DGS out for the day to a country park.
08/01 134.8 – 10.4 miles walked yesterday, 558 calories in credit, all other macros in green. More importantly a liver (or part of an adults liver) has become available for my tiny DGS – in fact he is actually in theatre as I type undergoing the major surgery to give him a future, so hopeful that this is successful. (Fingers and everything else possible crossed !)
08/02 135.6? - 10.22 miles walked yesterday, 430 calories in credit and all other macros in green. DGS liver transplant went really, along way to recovery, but he now has a chance, I'm so relieved and grateful for a wonderful surgeon and supporting team, the donor (RIP) and his/hers grieving family & friends . Thank you all for your thoughts, prayers and good wishes, so much appreciated.
08/03 135.2 – 6.34 miles walked yesterday (took sick DGS 2 year old brother out for the day). 365 calories in credit, 16 carbs over. DGS#2 still very gradually improving, scans & blood results show good results, still very sleepy from anaesthetic and morphine for pain – poor little mite – but it's very optimistic (fingers still crossed).
08/04 DNW this am – our bathroom is being refurbished now for the next 2 weeks so I have no hard surface in the house to place the scales on; only have the patio outside and as I always weigh naked after my first bathroom visit of the day thought I'd spare my neighbours that unpleasantry !! I shall weigh in every am in the next challenge, but clothed!! 6.26 miles walked yesterday, miles will be more difficult to achieve whilst the workmen are here, but I'll try to get an hour or so in before they arrive and then some in the evening around commitments with MIL care. 169 calories & 4g carbs over. DGS is still doing well, daily scans & 4 hourly blood results still improving, he was unsettled last night, but they think it is cuz he's hungry ; can start to have a little milk from today.
KEEP SAFE EVERYONE . Keep calm – we're all in this together!

07/26- 185.2 had a great day worked out and spent the day by the pool so excited for this loss finally but worried if I can maintain it
07/27 184.8 finally some movement, eat less than normal since my stomach was bothering me. Took a day off from workout
07/28 183.8 another good day it seems, I am scared to believe it is true. I worked out and was under for my calories.
07/29 184.4 completed my work out and under on calories
07/30 184.4 went to beach and made sure I squeezed in arms workout before my sons baseball game. Eating was good but not perfect
07/31 184.6 good first half of the day and completed my workout but was really hungry and a little stressed and made poor choices after dinner
08/01184.4 I am pleased that I stayed the same. Took a rest day from workout and went out to lunch with friends and splurged a little.
08/02 185, completed strength workout and Long Beach walk and on point with calories but had a lot of sodium. Will try to flush it out today
08/03 184.8 completed my workout and long walk. Eating was good during the day but have dinner out so I was pleased with the slight decrease back down
08/04 184.4 completed my work out and and wen over in calories, I was feeling hungry most of the day7 -

08/04 203.4. Not so great especially considering that CICO should mean that I lost more than I have this round. But who knows? Might be water. Might be waste. Might be fat. I'll keep plugging along. It was really great to see the 190s this round and I'm determined to see them again soon. Hopefully it will be the next round.

Ultimate Goal: 185 lbs., but realistically 15-18% bodyfat.
10-day Goal: 321.5 I'm basing this off my ENDING weight from last round PLUS forcing myself to consistently work out. Gotta be accountable and responsible.

08/04 - 320.9 - Got in a good weight workout yesterday and planned to go to the gym early this morning, but everything is under water this morning (Philly area). With the storm/hurricane not expected to pass through until mid- to late afternoon, my plans just changed. The good is that I made my goal by more than a half pound.

07/28: 134.5 | Birthday was yesterday, so an impromptu visit from my parents was accompanied by an impromptu cherry pie. Along with testing out some other foods/recipes earlier in the day, definitely went over the calorie count. I didn't feel comfortable turning it away, but will probably just throw the leftovers away (sorry mom! It is very good, I promise!). Recommitting myself today.
07/29: 133.2 | Sort of recommitted myself; ate only half a piece of leftover pie. Had some great Mediterranean food from Aladdin's (regional restaurant chain based in Ohio, with some locations in surrounding states). Stayed within the calorie count, so gonna keep up that progress and ensure at least some weight is lost this round...

Round 121
Month/Day: Weight / Comment
07/26: 210.2 / A bump up from yesterday, but no surprise. Had my hand in the candy dish and other carbs all day yesterday. And, it was too hot and humid for very much activity outside.
07/27: 210.8 / I guess I will be happy with this for a Monday morning. Way better (4.2# better) than last Monday.
07/28: 209.4 / fingers crossed and mouth shut, I might make it to below 208 this round.
07/29: 206.8 / Ok that was unexpected, obviously. I better wear a neck brace for tomorrow’s jump up.

07/31: 205.8 / I am getting close to a range where I could be happy in maintenance. Got here quicker than I expected, so I will need to manage expectations. And, there are some social engagements coming soon. Expectations = Premeditated Resentments. 😊
08/01: 206.2 / Not bad considering the pizza I had for supper last night feels like it is still sitting in my stomach like a cannon ball.
08/02: 208.2 / Not the least bit surprising. Over at some great friends last night where they served a feast in honor of my birthday. (I know, birthday was almost a month ago and your sick of hearing about it. Ha!) But they have been out of town and this is the first time we have seen each other for a while. Not blaming anyone but myself, but I overindulged.
08/03: 207.6 / Expectations exceeded since last Monday. I will take this and run with it. Not literally. I don’t run. Joints can’t take it. Walking and biking are more my thing.
08/04: 207.0 / I accomplished my goal of lowering my average from round before! I went from 211.5 to 207.9! On the 28th I wondered if I could make it to 208, and ended up averaging less than that. Now I need to stay the course. Same goal for next round. I would like to have a few rounds (or a life) where the average hovers around the 205 mark and consider if this should be a “reasonable” maintenance weight.
I see the next round is posted so I will see you all there I hope.

Need to dip my toe into the 160's!
IF: 16:8
7/26: 171 nice round number to start R121
7/27: 170.1 Glimpse of the "0" back from last round. Lots of gym activities for me over the weekend. A bit worried going into the week. The gym is not as ready of an option with my work/sleep routine; and mother-nature is dishing out extreme heat which doesn't work out well for me walking outside during my lunch time. Tune in tomorrow to see how I resolve this activity quandary!
7/28: 169.8 Blessed with a cooling rain so a nice evening for my walk. Can't credit the BIG 3 oz loss solely to that. All I can say is don't mistakenly take a magnesium supplement instead of your crazy pill on an empty stomach. In a desperate attempt to keep what is likely not a fat loss, I just got back from a fasted hour walk in the low 80's sunshine. Plan to take the pup on a shorter one when it cools off this evening--gotta stay on her good side.;)
7/29: 170.0 Feels like a solid pound lost since the beginning of the round. YAY! I feel more "centered" once I inexplicably nudge up a couple ounces after following all my rules for several days in a row. Something comforting about knowing that lower number lives because it's been achieved. Maybe those ounces are in transformation, too? Fat-to-Water-to-Muscle-to burn Fat-to-Water to....? So I made that last part up--I don't know if that is how the body burns or not, but it feels like how my "extra" is rolling right now. (pun intended):*
7/30: 171.1 Speaking of inexplicable...I noticed many of us bumped up overnight, more than a few ozs in some cases, despite doing everything right. (Exceptfor@luksterdog118--congrats on solidly landing in the 160's!) Oddly enough, my mirror and my scale are not synced. I look so much healthier than I did last round and even yesterday when I was over a pound lighter--lol! So I share this to say that our daily victories are where we find them, scales be damned! Keep pushing 10-day Fit Fam!
7/31: 171.2 Looking forward to gym day and date night with the hubs. He is such a lucky man!;)
8/3:172.1 Skipped a couple days of sharing my weight increase. Yes, there was cake involved. Not going to make it to the scale goal in short of 24 hours but continue to see positive physical changes that also may help to explain the weight increase. Am I going "less fluff; more buff"?
8/4: 171.9 Weird round. I may be allergic to the 160's. As soon as I dipped my toe into that range, I bounced up fast! Still eating right, logging and exercising so I know someday my whoosh will come. (I already have my prince!) Hope to see you all in R122.7 -

07/26 209.6 7350 steps yesterday for the funeral. 2109 calories family ordered a late evening pizza and I ate none....1.4 drop overnight want to keep it but I am skeptic...
07/27 209.8 13394 steps yesterday 1260 calories in beach and sun day with my family. Exhausted today and very, very hot outside today. Lunch walk will be in the halls.
07/28 208.9 13455 steps 1493 calories lunch and evening walks. Good results started believe it not’s gonna disappear.
07/29 208.4 12967 steps 1539 calories lunch and evening walk.
07/30 208 Yesterday 16298 steps and 1740 calories. A little high for calories, but very active afternoon. Walked my little ones to the park and back one mile there and one mile. Not high intensity although we do some running but we also stop to look at every beautiful flower!!! My daughter “It’s so beautiful, I love it!” Steak for dinner and half a slice of fruit tart at work. Very good.
07/31 208.2 Yesterday 13744 steps and 1526 calories very active, happy not stressing about slight uptick. My office is having pizza today but I am having a turkey cutlet salad. Been up since 330 this morning so today should be interesting…
08/01 207.5 13000 yesterday good on calories
08/02 207.8 13000 steps better on calories although I did treat myself to some Cajun fries and iced tea for lunch and felt guilty.
08/03 207.7 Yesterday 12363 1244 calories morning walk to the park with my little ones... cake no frosting with whipped cream and fruit yesterday afternoon. I don't eat whipped cream easy to skip it and eat the fruit only. Bee sting came with cake causing me to flash my neighbors friends as I try to remove the bee from my upper thigh. It was quite a show. Lol
08/04 207.1 Yesterday slow cooked beef with asparagus for dinner, Omelet with avocado toast for breakfast, snap peas and wasabi and soy almonds for lunch.1602 calories 13885 lunch walk and aerobics in afternoon.

08/04 - Act: 153.0 Trend: 153.5 - Not sure how, but this is what popped up and made it really close to goal. This partial round was really to see where I'm hovering, and less to lose despite setting a goal (which really was wishful thinking of dropping water weight since I've been horribly dehydrated). I'll take that as a win. Not sure if its a mental thing or what. I was so used to being brutally honest posting here that I built a habit of being cognizant of my habits. I'd have to admit to this community my shortcomings (which are plenty but some... well...) and it was easier for me to walk away rather than admit I was being an uncontrollable glutton. Not consciously doing that, but maybe, just maybe, being back to posting is causing it to happen subconsciously. Hmmm...
Previous Day's Comments07/31 - Well, first time weighing at all since May... Not too bad, I'll say. I haven't done anything except the occasional yoga, walk, and once a hill run with the middle kid. She's in cross country so she likes to try to kill me on runs haha Absolutely no food tracking done, no attempt at portion control, nothing! I'm actually quite surprised about my weight, especially as I've been super bloated and heavy feeling lately, I figured I'd creeped back up in to the 160s. Apparently this is a stuck weight and I'm glad for it. Now time to move my stuck weight down.
08/01 - DNP
08/02 - Not surprised, had a big day out yesterday goofing off and trying to enjoy time with the kids during their last full weekend together. I'm not as bloated as normal, but I am a bit dehydrated so I'm assuming that's the uptick. Going to focus on water today as much as I can. Update on my Godson -- he's out of the hospital and seems almost normal. Obviously a little slow and groggy from 5 days in the hospital getting poked and prodded (he's 2 so easy to irritate with that) but his attitude is definitely come back to shine. His appointment concerning transplant has been postponed as the family wants both parents there during the process (and to calm the little man -- they learned during this trip if only 1 parent is there at a time, he is uncontrollable but once they got approval for both to stay, he was much better and his health turned around for the better almost immediately) and to make decisions as a team regarding their son's future. Hopefully things will calm down on the COVID front as they can't postpone too much longer but I also understand the concerns of having only 1 parent at a time.
08/03 - We did a Linner yesterday and it was the only meal I had (hello unplanned IF day). Ended up hungry right before bed and was scared to get nauseous so I had a quick pizza pocket snack. Glad I ended up down despite that. Hoping the girl gets up to go for a run with Fam so I can maybe join in for at least a walk. I don't feel super bloated, but my belly is sticking straight out instead of a sag so I know there's some bloat there. Had water but not enough yesterday so pushing water as I type to get a headstart on my day and hoping it'll alleviate some of that bloat look. Since my late night snack last night, I'm pushing breakfast out and trying to fast a bit longer despite being peckish right now (been eating a small half breakfast around this time and then eating another small half breakfast when BF gets up and moving to make something (or I realize he's not and I start to feel pretty hungry again). I need to get back into IF but I've been waking up super hungry since spring. Not sure if its the heat, the change in pace of meals in TX (mainly routine change), or if I somehow trained my body to be hungry first thing in the morning somehow (which NEVER was the case before in my life). Guess I have some learning to do with my body again

It’s a lovely morning but heating up fast. Birthday cake on tap for DH, but I’m planning the rest of my day to compensate, and will be spreading soil in my new garden bed, so that should burn a few calories. I’m determined to lower my calorie average by at least 100 this round, and to up my exercise. Have a gorgeous Sunday, all. Be safe & healthy. 🌸❤️🌼🥗🌻
7/27 - 181.8
Oooh, the cake was good. And lasagna for DH’s birthday dinner. Salad today, baby! I did do a couple hours worth of hard labor in the garden — I’m turning the lawn at one side of the house into flowers, so schlepped a lot of 40-lb bands of soil around. More today, then compost. Better than the gym!
7/28 - 182.8
Cake + no walk due to lightning + a bit of munching last night = bloat + weight gain. Back with the program today. I want to get back to running, so am thinking of doing a round of C25K starting tomorrow. Planning a nice walk this evening. I’m off to buy more soil — I have about half the lawn covered for my side-yard garden. Yesterday was horrible hot, but it’s lovely today, so I need dirt! These days, I dream in flowers.
7/29 - 181.8
I almost finished laying the new garden bed yesterday — today’s the day! I’ll do that this morning (12 more 40-lb bags of soil will be my weight training) and then I’m off for a long walk along the river this afternoon. Now to eat well at meals and slay the snack monster....
7/30 - 182.8
Aaack. But I did eat salty yesterday and had an adult beverage last night, which I rarely do, but I finished laying out my new garden space (below). Now I wait for the paper under the soil to decompose, and in the spring I’ll plant a wide variety of flowers for birds, bees, butterflies, moths, and me! That’s 2,240 pounds of soil there!
7/31 - 181.8
Almost forgot to check in!
8/1 - 182
DH wanted Thai yesterday, so I had just 2 summer rolls with shrimp and peanut sauce. Delish! I did eat a bunch of popcorn last night and feel a bit bloated — still wrestling with the evening snack monster. It’s a new month so I am going to try for one behavioral change — breaking the evening snack habit is my goal for this month. I did go for a lovely 5-mile walk yesterday, and worked in the garden. All good. Have a lovely weekend, all!
8/2 - 181.8
Holy cow, where has this round gone? And why am I still not doing what I need to do? More to the point, why am I still doing what I don’t need to do? To be honest, I don’t even mind my weight right now, especially since it’s been with a 4-lb range for 6 months (so I’m no longer gaining), but most of my clothes are for smaller me and I don’t want to buy clothes! I’m wondering once again whether obsessing constantly about calories, macros, minutes, miles is counter-productive for me at the moment. I mean, I record everything I eat, so it’s not as if I’m unaware of what and how much, but it’s not working for me like it did before. Maybe I should stop thinking in terms of re-losing 50 pounds and shift to a 10 or 20 pound goal. Your thoughts/experience about this sort of thing appreciated!
8/3 - 182
Gorgeous day here! I have a full morning of garden work planned, removing a few things, moving a few, planning and plotting.... One thing about working in the garden — I can’t snack! 🌻🌿🌸🌱🌼 I wish you all a lovely day!
8/4 - 182
First, I hope everyone in Isaias’s path is safe. 🌂
And then there’s my lack of progress.... Since my calorie average for the round is higher than my TDEE, I can’t pretend to be surprised. Even with exercise (obviously not enough), I need to eat fewer calories (also obviously). Next round? I’ll try.

7/26 – 185.9 This is a glorious day as I have been recently struggling with the 187 speedbump. I’ve now had TWO days under 187 and I think it’s going to stick!
7/27 – 186.2 – Not surprising, because I had some rice with a little soy sauce with dinner last night and that always makes me retain a little water.
7/28 – 186.3 – I guess that exciting “dip” was just a tease. That’s okay. It is cardio day on the stationary bike so hopefully I’ll get this moving back in the other direction.
7/29 – 186.3 – Holding steady here, not bad. I’m really not feeling well today so I’m just going to try to take it easy.
7/30 – 185.4 – There we go! Yesterday I got in my steps, logged my food and drank tea as I tried to rest a bit.
7/31 – 187.0 - Had “dinner night” with my husband. It was the first take-out we’d had in 4 weeks. It was delicious – no regrets.
8/01 - 185.8 – Nice recovery after a take-out dinner. Now it’s time to work on August goals!
8/02 – 184.8 - That was unexpected, but I’ll take it! I’ve been doing my scheduled cardio and being really careful about logging foods after the take-out day and it seems to have worked.
8/03 - 183.8 - Wow, even more unexpected. I wasn’t feeling well yesterday, so I was essentially coach bound all day. I did close my diary “under” yesterday – my only healthy accomplishment.
8/04 – 183.5 – It has been 10 days already! Time flew! I am also pretty stunned by this weight decrease, because in July I struggled with getting under 187 for weeks. I guess that’s proof to just keep going and be patient!
3.1 lbs lost this Round!

About me:I love learning about food and everything about it; from the way it acts in the body to learning to cook a new recipe. I went to school for nutrition (got my bachelor's) but I didn’t become an RD because it didn’t feel like the path for me. I guess I wanted to keep it as more of an interest instead of a career. I then went into public health to further my education and I currently help medically complex patients by connecting them with community resources to improve their health and life. I enjoy helping family and friends when they ask for advice related to food and nutrition. Plus, it helps me brush up on what I spent so much time learning!Previous days’ entries
I’m here because when I’m not paying attention to what I eat, I start to gain and feel uncomfortable in my body. For me that results in frustration and a lot of other emotions. It has also increased my cholesterol in the past (It’s good now as far as I know thanks to diet and exercise). I have a family history of diabetes, heart disease, and all that fun stuff. So, I want to prevent that for myself by getting a hold of my food habits now.
I’m always open to conversation about food and nutrition, so feel free to reach out to me!07/26 117.2 Starting at the same weight I ended in round 119 thanks to eating a whole lot of salt on Friday after our hike. As semblances of normal life start creeping back in like takeout food, I find it harder to resist. Especially when it’s right in my face (Like my in-laws ordering takeout and wanting us to eat upstairs with them). I have a hard time saying no to those things because I enjoy them. One positive is that I feel like I did well last week and made a huge volume of summer squash to go with a minimal amount of Chinese food I ended up eating (maybe 1 cup worth of General Tso’s chicken, one chicken finger, and ½ cup pork fried rice, a fried dough ball, then a mountain of sautéed zucchini/summer squash). That method worked pretty well, I felt satisfied afterwards, but it took a while to feel full. I wanted to eat more but resisted.
I know I said going into this it would be tough because the lower you go the harder it is to get to the goal number at my height. I just need to remind myself of that and keep on chugging because I love the changes I have seen and feel very comfortable in my own skin. I just don’t want to feel uncomfortable again…which can happen if takeout becomes a habit.
So cheers to a new round with a new focus and challenges of not letting takeout food get in the way of my success.
07/27 117.2 Solid start to the day with a good soccer workout before the 100 degree plus humidity weather rolls in. I made a new batch of granola yesterday and added some crushed up brown rice cakes to it to add some bulk without a lot of calories. I’m excited to try it with my fruit and yogurt for breakfast.
It’s CSA pick up today and I got an email saying there will be peaches in it, so I’m very excited to try those! I love in season and local peaches! They are so so yummyyyyy! We’ll also be getting kohlrabi which will be fun to cook with! I love kohlrabi just sliced and munched on raw. So much yummy produce is really going to start rolling in and I’m so excited about it!
I’m also feeling refreshed after my mini vacation last week of having Wednesday to Friday off work.
07/28 118.0 Salt is not my friend. Had Thai food last night and wasn’t over on anything numbers wise. Done with takeout for a while. My husband really wanted it last night and I caved because it sounded way too good as I was really hungry at the time. Bleck, now I pay. Hoping the water weight doesn’t stick around because it doesn’t feel good being all swollen. I felt it in my fingers and face this morning snd hoping it fades.
Besides that, we went for a really nice walk this morning at around 5ish miles and it included black berry picking! So that was fun coming home with about a pint of wild black berries to accompany our CSA blueberries, apples and peaches in the fridge. I have healthy food all planned out for today and planning to stick to it.
07/29 119.2 Water weight is crazy right now. Besides that, I had a really good soccer workout this morning. I also switched up my breakfast routine today because I had leftover kielbasa to finish up. So I browned the kielbasa (4 oz) slices in a pan and then threw in an egg. Then on the side, I had a slice of whole wheat raisin toast (Angelic Bakehouse brand) topped with ½ tbs peanut butter along with some blueberries and blackberries. It was a pretty balanced breakfast and it’ll be interesting to see how well it keeps me satisfied.
07/30 117.0 Finally got the whoosh of water weight released. I can feel it too! My fingers don’t feel swollen which is nice 😊. We went for a really nice walk this morning. I think it clocked in at about 6.5ish miles. I think I’ll be frying an egg to go with my yogurt and fruit this morning. Then for a snack I’ll have some fresh kohlrabi and cucumbers. I’ll probably have a couple pieces of dried fruit with it too for a sweet treat. I’m looking forward to possibly having a taco salad for dinner tonight! Have a good day!
07/31 116.4 More whoosh of water weight 😊. Finally back to baseline after over a week of highs. We did a really good soccer workout this morning. I have my meals all planned for the day. For breakfast I’m having leftover chili I made last night topped with an egg. Then I’ll have fruit, yogurt and granola on the side. Snack will be some more kohlrabi and cucumber sprinkled with chili lime seasoning. Then, for dinner I think I want to make chicken thighs, purple potatoes, and zucchini ribbons with a touch of alfredo sauce for dinner tonight.
08/01 115.6 Whelp there’s a number I don’t remember seeing, even in high school. Maybe middleschool, so when I was an awkward 13/14 year old with a completely different shape to me. This is exciting and I’m really happy with it 😊. Let’s hope it sticks! In the meantime I will celebrate the victory with some online shopping to treat myself.
I have my typical breakfast planned today in addition I’ll be having some leftover chili on the side with an egg on top. Not sure if I’ll be hungry after such a big breakfast. Then we’ll be having homemade pasta & meatballs for dinner tonight. I think I’ going to make some zucchini ribbons to add some veg to the dish as well. I’ll probably have a cucumber salad to go with it too.
NSV: I have officially been logging for 110 days in MFP 😊.
08/02 115.6 Nice to see it stick. We had Chipotle door dash for lunch today and I calculated my bowl on their website and realized after the fact that the bowl I ordered had almost 3,000 mg of sodium in it. (Ingredients: barbacoa, brown rice, black beans, fajita veg, guac, mild and hot salsa, and romaine lettuce.) So, I’m sure I’ll have some water fluctuations into tomorrow. It also clocked in at 1,000 calories. After logging all of that, it makes me realize how I got up to the weight I was at. We were eating a lot of Chipotle and take out pre-pandemic, which definitely adds up over time into real poundage. After having for the first time in a while… I wonder why I ate it so much before because I wasn’t that impressed with it today. I think I’d rather splurge on Thai food for a sodium bomb vs Chipotle. I plan on having a light dinner tonight like salad and then some fruit and yogurt. I really hope the sodium doesn’t bother me too much.
08/03 114.8 We did a killer soccer workout this morning and I feel great afterwards! I’m glad the Chipotle sodium bomb didn’t stick. I wonder if it’s from the magnesium I’ve been taking each evening to help with sleep and a few other things I had read about. Other than that, I haven’t really changed anything with my routine. I’ll happily take it though 😊. CSA pick up today and I’m so excited because they said we’ll be getting tomatoes and peppers! I haven’t had fresh peppers yet from them and it’s been a few weeks since we’ve gotten tomatoes. Breakfast and lunch will be typical meals for me and dinner will be jerk roasted chicken thighs with a ton of roasted veggies (summer squash, eggplant, and green beans) to use up what we didn’t eat from our csa last week.
08/04 114.8 Last day of the round and feeling like it was a success. 😊 Our CSA was amazing last night and shocked that we got 2 cantaloupes! I wasn’t expecting that and got so excited when I saw them grab them to put in the trunk! I can’t wait to have some with my breakfast this morning!! Anyways, we went for a really nice walk this morning and picked some more wild blackberries along the way.
Today we have our meat csa pick up and are planning to stop for ice cream afterwards because my sister in law has been craving soft serve frozen yogurt for well over a week now. So, I’ve decided to indulge too!
This round was crazy and really showed me how much my weight can fluctuate. At one point it went up 2 or 3 pounds over two days. Then it whooshed down and stayed there after a couple rounds of not losing. Feeling grateful today about it all. Looking forward to the next round!
Total weight loss for this round: 117.2 -> 114.8 2.4lbs lost total.

@HealthierinMFP Your/our weight fluctuates daily because of hormones. I used to have a video in my spoiler which explained this AND why weighing only once a week is not an accurate representation for women. Don’t stress over the fluctuations, learn the pattern of your body. 😘3
