It is a wonderful peaceful getaway. Lower Laguna Madre in South Texas fishing for Redfish, Speckled Trout & Flounder.
Oh and in the pic that is a protected wild turkey ... we have a couple of dozen that roam around the area LOL

THERE ARE NO QUICK FIXES OR SHORTCUTS to achieving permanent change.
REMINDERS One or two thoughts which might give heart to some of you.- Daily weight fluctuations are normal, and can be as much as 2 lbs a day for no apparent reason.
- A general downward trend is what we are looking for.
- Eating out can cause apparent weight gain because of high sodium levels, but usually goes quickly. Drinking extra water helps with this.
- The human body does not react instantly to what we do to it. Sometimes it can take several days to see results.
- Plateaus are a normal part of the process. The body is consolidating and adapting to your new way of eating/exercising.
- The closer you get to your goal weight, the more difficult it becomes to lose weight, as your body becomes more efficient at using what you feed it.
- When you exercise you build muscle, which takes up less space than fat, so use measurements as well as weight to assess your progress.
- Getting/Staying fit and healthy requires a lifestyle change for most people.

09/04 - 191.6 I'm happy to see that. After my daughter's softball game yesterday she really wanted a caramel frappe from McDonalds, which also happens to be my weakness. I had iron clad willpower and didn't get one for myself as well lol I set my goal to lose 3 lbs in this challenge, which seems like a little too much but I really can't wait to see the 180's, so I'm hoping that my willpower sticks around! My youngest 2 kiddos and I are going to our lake lots to camp this weekend so I wont be weighing in tomorrow, and I'm sure there will be a small bump in my weight. Have a good weekend

09/04 114.4 Got a soccer work out in this morning. Feeling sleepy and looking forward to the long holiday weekend. Having the Monday off will be nice and it’ll give me some extra time to cook something fun! I haven’t figured out what but I’m in the mood to experiment this weekend.
We had Bertucci’s delivered last night as a surprise from my father in law’s coworkers but it didn’t hit me too hard. It was a small piece of chicken parm, about 1 ½-2 cups spaghetti, salad, and a roll. I was full afterwards and didn’t feel icky…so that was good 😊. It didn’t make me retain too much water either, which was a plus for me. The meal train is dropping off a crustless quiche for dinner tonight which shouldn’t hurt the water retention either. I’ll just have to embrace the challenge of being ok with not knowing the calorie counts.

One day at a time, choosing hope, intermittent fasting, and tracking along with people in THIS GROUP almost every morning have helped me meet my 10-day goals! Staying in community really does help! I never felt I had to lose weight before but 15 lbs makes such a big difference on my frame and on my mindset. Yesterday was a good day. For whatever reason(s), I feel much more in control and determined. I seem to be succeeding at curtailing my night-time snack habit. I’ve set a goal of losing 1 pound/round, which seems realistic even with holiday season coming up. I guess one good thing about the lack of social gatherings is the reduced supply of beautiful goodies everywhere! Anyway, here’s to a great round for everyone.

09/04 - 154.5 - Worth it! We had a mini girls night last night, I got to go to a new restaurant so I splurged a little trying things and had a glass of wine with dinner. The storm derailed our original plans which I planned my breakfast and lunch around but this new place was much fancier and harder to plan around. Ended up getting the grilled trout. I hit my water goal before leaving the house and had several glasses of water in between sipping my wine. We shall see how bad this derailed me tomorrow.

So, I'm curious and haven't really seen this type of thing asked...What do you do for work or to fill your days? If you work, what do you do? Are you retired, a stay at home parent, unemployed thanks to covid or other circumstances and trying to stay sane(is that possible? aha), or anything else I'm forgetting?
At the moment, I'm blessed to work from home while helping medically/socially complex patients find the resources in their community and help them navigate the system.
I just got a new job and moved to Texas in late March, just as everything shut down. I've been working from home since I started, minus a few days in the office to get my computer, work phone, equipment for once I return (I work at a power generation plant so hard hat safety glasses, etc are needed). I sit pretty much all day on the computer but I try to get up and do little stuff around the house. Tend the garden, go for walks, clean little areas of the house. BF getting surgery next week so I'll be doing all that, working, and playing nurse to keep me busy. We also have Fam (Hubby, wife, 2 littles, and hubby's mom just moved into town -- living with them until her apartment finishes construction and can move in). Almost every night we go over there, bring food (main dish or side) and they provide the rest so a shared cost. Gives us a chance to get out of the house and gives Fam a mini break (usually to focus on cooking) while we entertain kids.

@CamandJarvis wow! It's so interesting to hear what other people do for work outside of my bubble. That sounds like this pandemic really switched up what a normal workday would have been for you! It's nice you have family in Texas too, it can be so stressful moving somewhere new without any family around.4

Goal for this round: to lose 1 lb. It would be even better to get below 190!
I plan to keep my calories around 12-1300 each day and continue drinking all my water.

Day/Weight/Comment
09/04 191.8 to start this round. I didn't drink enough water yesterday and didn't realize it until bedtime. Also, I thought I came in at 1293 calories yesterday and then realized I also ate walnuts as I was cooking bc I waited too long to start dinner. Plan for today.. only snack at planned snack time. Do not eat mindlessly.

Round 125 Goal: I will be going to the beach next week, so my plan is to hopefully maintain through that & not gain. Would love to be under 170 when this round ends but not sure that is doable with a vacation in the mix.
Day/Weight/Comment:
09/04: 172.7 (down .7 from yesterday) Happy with this drop to start this round! Yesterday was my 4th day this week AF, I don't think I will have a drink until we are at the beach next week. Trying to bank some good losses before then! Up for today is a run and cooking a nice dinner tonight, last night was kind of a scavenger hunt for something to make, so my body is craving a real meal tonight.

They are definitely my chosen family. Met them in Kansas when the wife worked at the army base I was stationed at and after she got the job down here, she moved in Sept last year (she's born and raised in this town). BF and I came to visit, fell in love, he got a work-from-home job and ended up moving when his lease was up in Dec (couldn't renew- owners got stationed there again and wanted their house). I started job hunting with everyone's help and here I am, finally! Can't wait for the pandemic to be over so I can go explore my new state. I've wanted to move to Texas for years and now I'm here, I can't fully enjoy it. Buuuuut, the weather is great and really motivates me to get out and go for walks more often, which I really needed so that's a big plus. I finally feel "at home"4 -
I will be back for another round. This will be my second since leaving in February and returning. This should be an interesting round. Hopefully it works out in my favor! Goal is to drop 2 pounds and be at or under 162.xx for 50% of the time.
Rnd 124 SW - 169 EW - 164.3 (-4.7)
09/04 - 164.3 I stayed the same so I am probably done losing all of my water weight. Hopefully I can have another nice drop or 2 this round. I have some dental work later this afternoon, so I doubt I will be eating dinner. I hate going to the dentist and didn't sleep well last night because of it. I will be glad when it is done!

@playhardkf2017 I am an accountant for multiple Lifecare Communities. I work in the corporate office and take care of all of the billing and accounting for each facility. I worked from home for almost 4 months, but did finally get to come back to the office about a month and a half ago. The state aloud us back as long as we had our own offices and not cubicles. We do assisted living, heath care, memory care, and independent living. I work full time and I am in charge of 4 different communities in 3 different states. I am married (for just over a month now "quarantine wedding" and we have 5 children (21, 20, 18, 15, and 12). We were together for almost 8 years and lived together for 6 before finally getting married. We did not want to put any more pressure on the kids seeing as we were blending 5 kids into a new house already, so we waited. I have 4 of them still at home so I am always dealing with one of them. Our state is doing online schooling until January so I have two of them that I am constantly trying to keep on track. My husband and I love to go 4 wheeling either in our Jeep or on the 4 wheelers and we love watching movies. It's interesting to see what others do these days.6

@jenn990205 Nice! You sound like you have your hands full with your job and kiddos. That's always a challenging balance act. My husband and I don't have kids (maybe adoption down the line when we have a big enough space), but we do have a kitty named Alfredo. We live with my in-laws (including sister in law) and plan to do some major renovations in the next year to our basement apartment we created 7 years ago (add a bathroom, full kitchen with sink, another bedroom/office space, and add some egress windows and our own entrance) because it is currently studio style and we have to walk up two flights of stairs for the main bathroom we use or one flight to use the sink to wash dishes. My mother in law is currently going through a lot of medical issues right now, so it has been good to be with them and help her with things (new found skill for me: giving a Lovenox shot so she won't get blood clots).
When we have time my husband and I enjoy hiking in the White Mountains or just going for walks around our neighborhood, playing poker, and a couple of board games. We also hang out in our yard and do a little bit of gardening when the animals let us grow things to completion.
I LOVE to cook, so I enjoy picking up our CSA's weekly and experimenting in the kitchen. I dream about the day when I will have my own kitchen with all of my appliances, ingredients, oven, and a sink all on one floor. In our apartment now we only have a couple of burners, fridge, microwave, and pantry area. I never knew how much I would long for a sink in my kitchen haha!
Ps. Congrats on your quarantine wedding, I'm sure it was beautiful and so special!6
