    :open_mouth: [That's actually the face I'm making. WOW!]
    I am impressed that you got yours first. You must be closer to where they are manufactured.

    @katharmonic Those pictures are beautiful. I'd say well worth the time and effort it took to get there.

    ^^^^ This... EXACTLY!!!

    @Faebert hang in there! You are doing great!!!

    No run for me again today. My quads are still sore but not as bad as yesterday. I did a couple of gentle stretch videos this morning and hope to get out for a run in the morning.

    @katharmonic – those pictures from your hike are gorgeous but I am not ready for snow! What was the temperature during your hike? Did you ever get warm enough to take your jacket off?

    @polskagirl01 – Beautiful Fall foliage!

    @Faebert – I have zero mechanical skills so I’m in awe of your putting together the treadmill all by yourself! I hope having it will relieve some stress you have going on now. Hugs!

    @noblsheep – The medal is beautiful!

    @katharmonic Great hiking pictures. For some reason, I wasn't expecting to see snow.

    @noblsheep That's awesome! You must be the first one to receive it. Can't wait to get mine.

    @Faebert Sorry you have had such a rough month, but sounds like you are making progress. I'm impressed that you were able to put the treadmill together by yourself. Sometimes handling life is hard. You are doing great.

    @polskagirl01 Nice run and love the forest trail and golden colors. Mom and dad and I are planning to go for another drive today to take in all of the colors around here.

    @Teresa502 Hope the stretching helped and your quads feel better.

    @Faebert good for you for getting your treadmill assembled and using it! Hang in there, you're doing great.

    @noblsheep the medal turned out so cool.

    @Teresa502 and @quilteryoyo - there was really only snow/frost on the trees and greenery up above 3500 feet or so. There wasn't snow on the ground, but lots of ice. I think the temps started around 28 degrees when we set out at 4 am. It really varied a lot but the sun came out and it felt pretty good, maybe into the 40s at points, but of course colder at the summits. I never took my jacket off I did take my gloves off and on a lot. I also wore fleece-lined hiking pants which was a good move, and my new Salomon hiking boots did well. I certainly tested out their waterproof nature.
    @Teresa502 hope your quads feel better after some more stretching. Mine are pretty sore and yoga helped some today.

    @polskagirl01 beautiful fall colors. Looks like a lovely place to run and clear your head.

    Treadmill this morning before yoga, but I didn't get there on time so I had to finish up after. My Garmin is still not even close to being calibrated to the treadmill pace. I may need to do a longer run on it. It is frustrating because I keep adjusting it and it shows up fine in Connect, but in Strava it doesn't adjust to the new distance so I've been deleting and re-entering manually. Let's get it together everybody!

    Got 5 miles running and a hike on the far side of the river Monday. Getting used to the gravel, my legs don’t feel as beat up as the first time. It’s really pretty back there. There were two large horse trailers at the trail head when we arrived and we kept seeing fresh hoof prints (and fresh poops!) but we never did see any horses. I think they turned the opposite direction from us and looped back around before we finished. We did see two bobcats though! Two! I looked it up and bobcats are solitary ordinarily, and this isn’t their breeding season, but sometimes they remain with their mothers through the winter, so I’m guessing it was either two young brothers or a mom and mostly grown child. They were standing right in the middle of the trail when we sighted them and just looked at us as calm as could be, then swiftly vanished into the underbrush.

    My husband also glimpsed what he guessed was a gray fox run across the trail but wasn’t sure. We peeked back and yep, big brushy pile exactly like the fox den they used to have in our back pasture. And then a dozen strides down the road we could smell it. Yep! Definitely a fox!

    Weather was windy, nippy, and foggy. I got to try out my new sleeves. I was a little chilly setting out, never got hot enough to want to take them off. They were comfortable though.

    I liked this big golden tree.

    New sleeves!

    This was where we stopped - according to the map the trail ends about half a mile before this point, but we didn’t figure that out until later.

    @teresa502 Great job on finishing your marathon!

    @noblsheep The medal looks great!

    @katharmonic Beautiful hiking photos!

    @faebert Sorry things have been hard lately. Great job on getting the treadmill together. I hope it helps.

    @polskagirl01 What a lovely fall run.

    @rheddmobile How scary to see not just one bobcat but two. Great photos too.

    @martaindale The one good thing about running in warm weather is I always know how to dress.

    I decided to move today's run to Friday. It was 32°F feels like 23°F with freezing drizzle this morning. I don't have the right gear for that kind of weather and I don't want to slip and fall running on icy roads in the dark. Especially when my race is less than 2 weeks away. I'm not sure if I will try to run tomorrow or not. It's only supposed to be 36°F tomorrow and rainy but not icy. I haven't decided if I will tough it out or not. But it should be nicer on Thursday and Friday.

    Oh and I forgot to share. You guys get bears, coyotes, and other deadly creatures. Because of the rain and warmth, NZs most dangerous creature has come out! Open to suggestions on how to deal with these wee beasties...

    @kgirlhart Unless you are a rabbit the bobcats aren’t all that scary, they are super shy. I grew up on a farm with bobcats on the property and only once saw one, although we often heard them screaming in the mornings! They sound like human women, it’s freaky.

    @skippygirlsmom The sleeves are Decathlon. I tend to forget Decathlon even exists but everything I’ve bought from them was inexpensive but good quality.
