Janetr you look amazing! How long did it take you to lose weight?
Love Viv
Viv, thank you sweetie, I had gastric bypass surgery almost 7 years ago. Losing happened quickly , about nine months, but the struggle to keep it off is real. Just as anyone else trying to maintain, once the "honeymoon" period is over you have to eat right, and get plenty of exercise, etc. I lost #125 lbs and was up about 20 # 3 years ago and thats when I joined MFP and found this group.

Just a quick note to remind y'all that discussion of divisive topics should be kept out of the main forums. There is a lot going on in the world right now, and some of those topics have us falling on different sides of the fences. To keep things calm in the community, discussion of divisive topics should be kept to groups. If you'd like to discuss politics or other topics that some feel strongly about, please create a group and invite others to join you there to discuss.
I hope all is well,

I had typed some answers to others and got busy and lost them before I posted. Thank you ALL again for welcoming me back so warmly, it's like coming home after a long trip.
Our good friends and neighbors found out yesterday, that their house cleaner tested positive for Covid on Thursday and she had just been cleaning their house Wednesday for several hous. The neighbor lady is 76 and has been on oxygen for many years. I'm trying not to worry but its not easy.
Today has been quiet, hubby and I are big football fans so Sundays are full of game watching.
Have a terrific evening my friends.1 -
KJ thanks so much for letting us know that Suebdew and husband are recovered and doing well. I've thought of them so often.

Had an avocado/tomato/red onion on a slice of hearty toast today. 2 cups of coffee, and a fig newton. Today is just a minimal eating day. Yesterday I had a homemade cheeseburger, and was absolutely full for most of the day today! Never did get super hungry.
Have started taping Holiday Baking shows. Those make me so happy, and less fattening.
My avocado plant has 6 huge leaves. I move it around the house depending on where the sun hits the carpet. It is so spoiled!
Hugs ladies!

Thanks to KJ for reaching out to me this morning. It has been a couple of months since I posted I realized I can’t keep up but I’ll try to check in often. Missed hearing about your lives and hope to be able to get on every day. My eye sight is getting worse so reading is hard. But I realized I was playing solitaire a lot soI can do this. I can still drive and listen to my book club selections on my computer. We are feeling pretty good and getting into more activities. I would turn my calendar to a new week and it would be blank. Lol.

I just watched one of the Holiday Baking Shows last week- it was a repeat but had to watch it. The lady that ended up winning is from my home town(it is a very little town so was SHOCKED to see the town name pop up under her name when it was originally on. )

awesome! I like to see some of the guys put stuff together! I mean that is sexy to see a guy bake stuff hahahaha! I about died when one contestant was making a sauce, with cream, put a spoon in it, and then swiped his finger on the back of the spoon! I was like what the heck! I guess to see if the consistantsy was ok, or if the sugar melted!

Here is the one I was talking about;

Sue - nice to see you pop in.
Debbie and Rebecca - I watch the holiday baking shows too, I don’t k ow why, I’m not a baker at all!
Our little guest left around 430 this afternoon, her parents tried to pay me, but I had to much pleasure to accept payment for it. They said, but you bought her stuff, I said because I wanted to. They quit trying to get me to accept and told me they will take me out for dinner at some time.
After she left I went to buy a new boot tray and mat for inside the door. I also stopped at Michael’s to get some felt to make a stocking for Kaitlyns new puppy. This will be the 13th of these that I have made and my daughter, Lauryn, has made 6. I have the layout and will start with the sequins and beads tomorrow night.

I wanted to share this post that was on our local Rant and Rave FB group today. Usually it’s all rants and anger but once in a while we get a gem.

Hi so much time online with online classes and other since 2nd (lighter) lockdown. Weight up.
I'm still trying. I go out for a walk to the cemetery most days.
I'm gonna try for a little walk before 8:30 classes and another between class ending at 12:45 and class starting at 2:30...
Wishing you all a good day.
Avoiding controversial discussions, Congratulations to those who are happy about the present usa elections and my sympathies to the feeling of one's preferred candidate or party losing, to those who are sad.2 -
LOL! had to comment before I forgot! Rita, I read your post and thought it said you made pumpkin muffins and the pumpkin was made fresh from a pumpkin pie you bought! lol I had to read it a few times before my brain identified pie pumpkin, not pumpkin pie!

I saw this when I was riding the bus home from work, and cracked up ... burst out laughing and then had to stifle it quickly.
That pretty much sums up my recent university experience.

Suebdew in TX: Good to hear from you.
Tracey: 🥰the Rave. Also, I bow to your creative prowess on the Xmas stocking.1 -
"Get to do"s and "chose well"sChose well: dogs to powerline, livestreamed church, watched STAS Day 12 (two feet up and middle), caught up STAS challenge.
Bonus: line danced at the port, emailed board meeting reminder and revised minuted..
Get to do: submit grant pics and receipts, pick up labs, shop for part D, take pics of car, test Bluetooth speaker so can do BB&B or T’ai Chi from voice recordings, make experimental almond paste, declutter sideboard, practice new dances (I ain’t never gonna love nobody but Cornell Crawford (Alley cat), A Little Less Broken, One margarita, I’m so used to being broke, All Night, Sleeping with the Devil, Nothing but You, Blame it on my beating heart, Homesick); prep potato area and raised beds for beets, carrots, parsley root, parsnips, radishes and sow; weed drive again, finish weeding flower bed, mulch flowerbed; invest another 10 minutes in prepping living trust, Freddie’s for complete series TDAP <$48, get Shingrix vaccine, find and configure a screen time popup, figure out where to plant naked lady bulbs. Next Wednesday minutes to history. Reward: inventory seeds, plan fall cool season garden, order replenishments
New Ways November
8: Find out something new about someone you care about: one of my friends sold her house and is moving to Portland, our line dance teacher is moving to Arizona. Happy for them but selfishly whining and boo hooing for me.
9:plan a new idea or activity you want to try out this week: Irish Terri’s standing pilates video.
Good news: line danced two hours at the port, despite cold and windy. Great news: our teacher is reconciling with her husband.
Not such great news for us, means she’s moving away.
Terri Brava for the results of sticking to your goals!
Lisa sending good vibes for Thursday’s appt and quick relief.
Kelly thankful for your hand rocking those cradles. Stella for President! Thanks for the Suebdew update.
Lanette I’ll check out the Dr. Fung Youtube videos. To be honest, I don’t think I could either eliminate sugar or fast for more than 12-14 hours. Not motivated enough. the “Banning Court” home, especially the chimney and porches.
Tracey does that make you and Lily first cousins, three times removed? Bless those boys’ mother! Another hand that rocked the cradles…
Feels a little chilly in here, maybe Joe turned the thermostat down to 68 (Katla, Lanette, Fae, Tracey, Beth know you’re laughing and shaking your heads at me.)
Speaking of Fae, where are you?
Lighter, lovelies!
Barbara, the Southern Oregon Coastie AHMODNovember: better than October.

Good morning Ladies!
@barbiecat may I join your group?
I’m Keri and live in Gloucester, Va. I’m 51 and almost an empty nester, our baby is 16. Although, my Mama has moved in so I suspect that empty nest will never happen. Haha It’s all good. I have 3 girls and 3 grandchildren that come over often. Life is good. 😊
I started my journey at 200 on October 1 and today my weigh in was 183.2 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 Tomorrow I have an appointment with the bodpod so hopefully, my scale is not lying to me!
I’m a SAHM with a million projects. My biggest one right now is scraping the popcorn ceilings and making them flat. Seemed like a good idea when I started. 😂😂 My kitchen is now 1/2 scrapped and looks terrible! Oye!
