Welcome @cclark351! Would you let us know what you’d like to be called and your general locale? What is a “push bike”? Brava for 5 miles!
    Barbara

A "push bike" is what Australians call a bicycle. Why ... I have no idea because we ride the bicycle, we don't push it!

:) Our friends didn't come for a visit today. They had some sort of emergency at their house so that allowed me time in the afternoon to pull some more weeds.

:) It was cold and very windy when I took my evening walk so I was surprised that I saw quite a few other people walking.

Machka- Your shoreline pics are fantastic! I hope you are able to visit NZ and still remain in a bubble. Also, thanks for the article on busy people needing quiet. That is definitely me.

I've been to NZ a few times, but only to the airport in Auckland. I would like to see more! It won't happen for a while yet ... at least a year ... and if/when it does, I will have to do some careful planning. Gone are the days of just flying into a place and winging it! Anyway, that's something for 2022, perhaps. I hope.

Tracey- Your daughter is lovely; devil's horn and all! lol I have a bump in the middle of my forehead. It doesn't hurt, but it has been there for many years. Doctor's always ask about it. I don't remember ever banging my head hard enough to produce a bump, but I wonder if it could have been a result of my son's kickboard coming up from under my jaw (causing some major jaw pain and a cracked molar). Anyway, I tell my kids that it is my unicorn horn growing in. lol

My husband had a bump on his head too when I met him - had the bump for years and always wore a cap to cover it. I don't know if he remembers where it came from but it might have been something as simple as a bang on a corner of a cupboard. Then one day a few years ago, he went to the Dr for something else and casually mentioned the bump on his head. The Dr referred him to a specialist, the specialist told him it was quite a simple job to remove it ... and a few weeks later it was gone. You wouldn't even know he had a bump now.

Of course, now, on the other side of his head, he's got the burr hole scar from where they drilled in and placed the brain monitor.

This is really good! I use some of those tips and over the next year, plan to incorporate more. But this list isn't just good for people with brain injuries, it could also be useful for people with other issues like the early stages of dementia, strokes, or even just aging.

    Sunday --

    Groceries ordered
Sheets washed and hanging on the line
    3 CDs ripped & 1 to go

Having half a cup of coffee before heading out for a bicycle ride on a lovely, sunny, warm afternoon.

There's a bit of a breeze about which isn't great for cycling, but is wonderful for drying the sheets!

I love an herbal tea called "good earth" the tags on the tea bags have "sayings or words of wisdom" my one for tonight is " your value doesn't decrease based on someone's inability to see your worth" - unknown

I felt like it was a message that many of us could use occasionally

I drink the cinnamon tea from Good Earth- Sweet and Spicy-but never noticed the tags- I will have to check that tomorrow night. The cinnamon is so good- a friend who was hooked on Fire Ball whiskey and now just drinks this tea.

I'm awake early because I'm excited about seeing the grandchildren this morning. I did get 6 hours, which isn't bad for me, especially if I've set the alarm. I've got an hour left before I wake DH.
We are going to walk to 'Three Cornered Wood' to meet them. About 45 minutes each way. ETA is 8.30.
It's just a little patch of woodland at the top of Hove Park and I've not been there before. An adventure! :D

Last night DH had the rugby on his laptop and there was nothing much on TV, though I recorded something to watch another day because it finished late. So I played our recording of Mamma Mia, and we had a good singalong. And there was a bit of 'sofa dancing'. :p

Yesterday afternoon I rang my friend in York, who sounds resigned to having to sell her apartment because she can't bear to carry on working as a lawyer. She is 72. She is going to work out her four weeks notice. I was able to be a bit of a sounding board for her and then I talked about Shirley and my technology anxieties. The whole conversation did me good.
When she moves she will be back in Portsmouth, nearer to me for our lunch meet ups, living in her old tiny apartment that she sold to her son. She intends to travel, do culture, lunch out often, and visit her son, who lives in Singapore. Seize the day! :D<3
I love those kind of conversations. DH is very good, but he has a few blanks where he struggles to empathise with my worries. Women friends fill those gaps. It's a bit like me not sharing his passion for cricket, though I do try! I always ask, and I always listen, though he knows my heart isn't in it! ;)

Love to all. Heather UK xxxxxxxx

21: Listen to a piece of music without doing anything else:

Mentioned to Joe might take Tumble to dog group. Later tried to wimp out, but he encouraged me. Glad he did. Dog group wasn’t there but we hiked out to the point anyway. Gorgeous brilliant sunshine, refreshing breeze, restorative, but was sad not to see the dog group folk. Will try to reconnect with them via email.

Tina agree about the bandages. Haven’t been able to find the Curad brand for a long time. They were the best.
Debbie in Napa “Do not wait” Truth this.
Katla Schooner looks quite regal on his throne ;)
Kylia those are some very long days. Good for you for delegating at least some tasks.
Michele when our church meets the maximum allowed capacity (at this point 25% or 50), the church secretary puts a sign on the door saying something like “sorry, limit met, come earlier next time ;)
KJ fire ants and snow storms, yikes, poor Joaquin!
Rori hooray for your first jab. I took an aspiring before my Pfizer jab, and also smeared some lidocaine on both arms, adapted from the recommendation from the Idaho mammogram folks. Now I read I shouldn’t have taken NSAID before, might reduce effectiveness. Hmm. Will use the lidocaine again and have the aspirin handy for immediately after… ;)
Welcome @yensidtoon ! Would you let us know what you’d like to be called and your general locale?
Rebecca “water in, water out” hahahahaha!
Machka thanks! I’d have to push any bike up the least little slope, never found gears low enough…
Welcome @justace0305 Stacey in Des Moines WA! Getting your mind right is the foundation, imho.
    Kim  that message.
Heather What you said about Johnny struggling to empathize with your worries describes Joe to a T. Thankful for all the women on this thread and my 3 friends here who fill in that blank.

How have I changed during the pandemic? My lazy side has gotten stronger. Without the external structure of classes (line dance, T’ai Chi, dog group etc) I’ve retreated to my recliner in front of the tube. Hope I can overcome when classes can open up again.

    Lighter, lovelies!

    Good Sunday,
Kelly I am 2 hours due West from Hocking Hills. I am about 30 mins due north of Caesar's Creek. We have lots of parks fairly close by. I use to love hiking by myself, but don't feel safe with that anymore. Maybe my next dog will be a good walker. 😎Husband uncomfortable walking on uneven surfaces due to his very limited sight.
