    Day, Weight, Comment

4/12 – 200 – 10,163 steps yesterday. Camping this weekend and TOM. Still really depressing looking at the scale.

4/13 – 200.2 – 10,533 steps yesterday. Wow. Just wow. Way to go, fatso. Still my TOM, but typically the water weight drops when it starts. So, I guess this is my weight now and I’ll need to start over. Weight loss goals adjusted again.

    4/14 – 200.2 – 11,369 steps yesterday. Fasting today.

    4/15 – 196 – 10,292 steps yesterday. Balance, grasshopper.

4/12 - 125.4 - Happy 40th birthday to me! 🥳 I am so, so happy today. If you had told me on this day last year that today I’d be 40 lbs lighter, able to run a 5K without stopping, able to hold a full plank for 2+ minutes and able to do 3-4 full push-ups, I would have laughed. I owe a ton to this group and all the support - it’s still hard to believe how far I’ve come. The process really can work! We can do this! I’m in the best shape I’ve been since college and so much happier and healthier than I was. I got to sit outside in the sun with two friends yesterday for a picnic birthday brunch - it almost felt normal. Both my husband and I have our first vaccine and are scheduled for #2 at the end of this month. I have two amazing kids who I have the incredible privilege of getting to raise and teach each day - they even made Mommy a special birthday cake with TONS of sprinkles (Daddy helped with the baking but the sprinkles were all them). I know there is so much wrong in the world right now, but today I’m focusing on the joy. 🥰

4/13 - 125.4 - I will absolutely take that on the scale this morning, since I ate yesterday like calories didn’t exist. Back to reality today - I’ll still enjoy the leftovers and the rest of the birthday cake, of course, but I’ll measure and track them now. Thank you all for the birthday wishes - I try to be a positive voice and give back a little of the help and support I’ve gotten from this group. I hope everyone has a great day - I started mine with a killer leg workout and now I get to go try out my blender with a breakfast smoothie!

4/14 - 126 - Higher on the scale than I’d like, but there are multiple possible reasons (birthday celebrations catching up to me, hormones, water weight from working out) so I’ll just keep tracking and see what it does. A bit sore and tired this morning; was up multiple times last night with the toddler. My strength workout this morning was back and biceps, then I added a 10 minute HIIT to that to burn some calories.

4/15 - 125.0 - Went for a 40 minute run this morning; my pace was slower than usual so it only worked out to be about 3.6 miles but I was just feeling really tired. Happier with the number on the scale but would prefer to have more energy. I skipped most of my regular meal prep this week (too busy on Sunday) and it’s made such a big difference in the difficulty of tracking my calories. Facing multiple times a day the dual questions of “what do I want to eat?” plus “What will fit into my calories?” is mentally exhausting compared to simply having everything planned. I won’t skip it again!

    😷Take care! Stay safe!😷

March focus: improving stamina, strength, flexibility, which may impact the scale

    Aims:
    2021 Focus:
    • Maintain weight < 150
    • Strengthen strategies to reframe the tendency to use unhealthy snack food as a reward/treat.
    • Make sure I have prepared healthy snacks available
    • Cut down on eating between meals by keeping busy
    [/color]
Never give up! Never give in!
    Recent Back Story:
    • 2018 goal: get back down to 160 ✅
    • 2019 goal: proceed down to 150 ✅ with 2 months to spare
    • 2020 goal: maintain below 150 dropping slowly down to 145 ✅ Strength training has slowed progress, but that’s okay.
    • That's a WIN in my book!
    • 2021
    • Focus: maintenance! I might even manage to lose a bit more ever so slowly.
    • (One good thing about Covid is that I don't have to traverse the minefield of family celebration meals.)

THERE ARE NO QUICK FIXES OR SHORTCUTS to achieving permanent change.
REMINDERS: One or two thoughts which might give heart to some of you.
    • Daily weight fluctuations are normal, and can be as much as 2 lbs a day for no apparent reason.
    • A general downward trend is what we are looking for.
    • Eating out can cause apparent weight gain because of high sodium levels, but usually goes quickly. Drinking extra water helps with this.
    • The human body does not react instantly to what we do to it. Sometimes it can take several days to see results.
    • Plateaus are a normal part of the process. The body is consolidating and adapting to your new way of eating/exercising.
    • The closer you get to your goal weight, the more difficult it becomes to lose weight, as your body becomes more efficient at using what you feed it.
    • When you exercise you build muscle, which takes up less space than fat, so use measurements as well as weight to assess your progress.
    • Getting/Staying fit and healthy requires a lifestyle change for most people.
Stick with the process. It DOES work! But it does take time, effort, and most of all, patience!

JUST GIVE ME 10 DAYS ~|~ Round 147 (round 79 for me ) I prove time after time that I need this to help me keep on track! Thank you @QuiltingJaine for setting up the new challenge.

Female age 63 5' 4” - Challenge for this round; need to get back to maintenance – get back to and stay at or >130. Away in our touring holiday for a weeks holiday, bbq each night with a glass of wine, but plenty of good long coastal walks (weather permitting!). Will try everyday to be in credit with calories. Need to get back to good habits; be mindful of what I eat & drink, try to keep it in moderation, keep walking, no binges; remember keeping the 10 days binge free makes such a difference! Not taking any chocolate with us – DH can sort & control his own! (He's lucky he's never had a weight problem.) A healthy life style has to be a permanent way of life.

Keep calm – we're all in this together! Wash hands, be kind, continue to follow all latest Government guidelines for C-19 virus. Be positive for the vaccine – I've had my first, spread positivity and encouragement for it to others.

Achieved goal weigh of 125lb in summer 2016 by losing 66lb and then gradually gained between 7 and 11 since then & didn't want to gain any more, It's took me 75 rounds to achieve my under 130 target; back to maintenance again!! A healthy life style has to be a permanent way of life.

    Hi again!
    First round for me !
Also I should mention that this is the first time I am trying keto ! We'll see how it goes!!!

Female, 36 yrs old 1.65cm ( 5' 5'') . I reached my highest ever weight at 70,7 kgr (155.9 lbs) and I have started a slow but steady effort!
Hopefully, this challenge -alongside everyone- will speed things up a bit!

    SW: 68.3 kgr (150.6 lbs)
    GW: 64.3 kgr (141.8 lbs)
UGW: 54 kgr (119 lbs) by August 2021

    Fifth Day Weigh in

    04/12 68.50 kgr (150.6 lbs)
04/13 68.00 kgr (149.9 lbs) Ok... I could not believe my eyes -half a kilo in a day! I guess it was the keto shock to the system! First time doing anything like that... Just taking it a day at a time!
04/14 68.00 kgr (149.9 lbs) No change whatsoever!!! Xmmmm..... I would like to see at least a 67,9kgr - for phycological reasons!! Anyway, I guess it was because I only had a very light workout and the last meal was at 21:15!! Even though I was under my daily calories.... Alas... Tomorrow is a new day!!!
04/15 67.60 kgr (149.0 lbs) Yeah!!!! Hello sweet 67!!! One hour of yoga practice yesterday and I managed to have my last calories at 20:30 last night!! I also upped my water intake … A day at a time!! I realise now that perhaps my GW of 64.3 ( 4kgr, 8 lbs lose) for the 10 days keto might be a tad unrealistic!!!
04/16 67.20kgr (148.2 lbs) !!!!!! I had to get on my scale two times to make sure that the number I was seeing was not just wishful thinking!!! Hehehehehehe.... Wow.. First time that I have lost more than 1 kgr (>2.2 lbs) in four days! I am astounded not only by the loss, but from the fact that I ‘m not that hungry or I don’t have ‘’what to eat next’’ on my mind all the time.. Of course, I am aware that it is the beginning and it is ok if at some point I will not lose any weight, at least until my body gets ‘’ accustomed’’ to the process, but I will enjoy the journey!!! ;)

@quiltingjaine How right you are! I used to feel so much guilt if I could not reach my unrealistic goals!! I would say to myself that I should have pushed harder, starved more, done more, and I didn't ''listen'' to by body... The result, I would get so frustrated and tired by the process, that it would not give me joy... And I would stop trying...

I couldn’t understand that this is a journey, that is meant to be enjoyed!! We should be grateful that we are aware of the situation, and we are taking steps to better ourselves. It is ok if not every day is a loss, as long as every day is enjoyed... with the overall goal embedded in our minds! :)

Thankfully I am more capable of taking those unrealistic goals with a sense of humour .. ever though I still haven’t taught myself to set realistic ones!!!

    Let's do it!!

@musicsax I am astounded by your milage!!! I admire that so much!!! Walking around the woods must be a joy!!! Also, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!! I wish you all the happiness!!
