First snake of the season in my yard, a big 2 metre brown.. Im irked that it went hiding in the leaves under the banana trees.. a place my dogs like to play. 😐 I'll have to keep them out of there.

    🥺 aren’t they really poisonous?
    Oh Australia 😳

Absolutely, they are deadly. One bit a greyhound next door few years ago and the poor thing screamed in agony for 10 mins before it died.. Ill never forget how that dog suffered. My dogs are only little so they won't survive a bite. .. that scares me. Its really my only concern in regards to snakes.. the fear my dogs will get bitten. 😔

JUST HOW DANGEROUS IS IT? The venom of the Eastern Brown Snake is rated as the second most toxic of all snake venoms in the world, next only to that of Inland Taipan (which is also a native of Australia). The venom of an Eastern Brown Snake contains a cocktail of poisons.

    That’s so scary!
😢 that poor dog next door.
Do you call someone to come find it or just wait for it to move on?
    I wouldn’t rest.
So sorry you have to deal with that.

And I was gripping about raccoons. 🙄 shame on me.

Some people call the local snake catcher if there's a snake in their house etc... but we do get lets of browns and red bellies, browns down near the chook pens especially. They are just a normal thing most of us country bumpkins are aware of and we just avoid where possible. Snake season is a thing.. it just irks me in that I worry about my dogs.
PS .. it will likely stay in the area for a bit.. theres been rat *food* activity down the feed sheds lately.
I have shovels all over the place should I need a weapon 😂

    Who doesn’t like to edge?
I like both but with circumstances. Middle if they’re still warm, edge if cold.

It’s almost torturous to edge! But satisfying in the correct circumstances. Edge brownies I mean. I’m definitely more of a middle girl. Those chewy edges just seem unnecessary. But to be clear: I’m not brownie shaming. In fact, I could put this in the neutral thread and be perfectly fine. “Your choice to be a brownie edger or not is something I’m 100% neutral about.”

Screenrant advertising every response by an actor/singer/showrunner to a question as hilarious.

    Trust me. They usually aren't.

I had some sort of allergic reaction to one of the weeds I pulled.
This evening when it cooled I went out very briefly and yanked out some vine (not poison ivy) around my deck.
When I came in about 20min later I started itching.
My feet, ankles and the tops of my hands.
I lost my mind briefly while I scratched as hard as I could without breaking the skin for at least an hour.
    Miserable.
It stopped and looks completely normal now.

I thought it was going to itch until I scratched the skin off. 🥺

Trying to make a change that I am not used to. Being more understanding seems to be a huge challenge that I know is good for me, but the biases that I have put up a wall that is hard to overcome. Gotta keep trying to break it down.

It sounds like Virginia Creeper - i react to that as if it were Poison Ivy.
    Does it look like this?

Also, I use tecnu poison ivy scrub after I'm out pulling weeds or picking berries where those vines hang out. It works great.

If I am gardening while I’m sweaty almost anything can irritate my skin. It’s pretty annoying. Most of the time I wear gloves but still
