I went out for my evening walk last night. It was a good song and I was walking kind of in the middle of the street because there was no traffic (I was still on my street) and it's easier and safer in case I pass someone walking a dog and have to jump off the curb and back on again to pass.
This guy comes up to me holding out a flower he'd picked along with a bunch of other ones (I'm sure he was just trying to be nice) but THE SONG WAS GOOD and I wasn't going to stop so I said I was allergic without slowing down. He keeps up with me and practically shoves it in my face and I yelled so hard at him "I'M ALLERGIC!!!!!!" and it kinda made him go "whoa" or whatever.
I AM allergic but that's not the point.
Anyway, when someone says they're allergic to something, you don't shove the item in their face.
Fair point!
I only question it because I used to be so shy and quiet. Never really had opinions and did whatever I was told. Now, in my old age, my resting *kitten* face is not an act and I have opinions (usually unpopular ones) all over the place and OMG have I found a voice!

Also I don’t know about where you are but in my old stomping grounds it used to be a fairly common scam to shove flowers into people’s hands and then charge them for it using guilt as a tactic.

You should test to see if they are a universal one upper by mentioning how much sleep you got the night prior - like - man that 7 hrs last night was awesome. I feel great ! — see if they respond with - bet it wasn’t as good as my 8.5
I’m curious if they want to one up positive things as well as negative things - or just want to be most miserable or what -
You have to do this and report back I’m intrigued2 -

I’m curious about this as well. My suspicion is that people’s general negativity and love of complaining will outweigh their one upmanship.0 -

Why, when I am in the self checkout at a store, does the next person feel they need to be all up in my business? Like, excuse me- I need at least a 4 ft bubble, you standing directly next to me isn't going to make me go any faster.
That is my current irk of the moment.1 -

I just had to tell someone that because they don’t live in our county they are not entitled to our county’s resources and they should contact the agency in their own county and then I looked up the number and gave it to them and I was very sweet and polite and they told me I was supremely unhelpful and that hurt my feelings because I did everything I could for this person within the parameters of what I am allowed to do. I’m sorry but you don’t pay taxes here *kitten*4

Some just don’t get it - I do a similar type job and get my share of rude folk - I just tell myself they are just frustrated at the process not at me and try not to take any reaction personally-
Also you’re pretty
