I would definitely NOT say you had wide hips. You look awesome!

Not that there's anything wrong with wide hips.

I didn't at all say there was anything wrong with wide hips. I just answered OP's original question.

    I didn't say you did?

it appeared that way to me, because you quoted me and said "not that there is anything wrong with that..."

 It was a general statement that, while it may be piggybacking off of your comment, was in no way meant to imply that you felt one way or anther about hips and the size of them. As far as the piggybacking goes it was simply a convenient place to make a statement, as simply stating out of nowhere with no context that there is nothing wrong with wide hips would be odd.

hence the reason I said "appeared that way to me..." calm down. I was just clarifying I see nothing wrong with it.

where did all of this come from?

more importantly, mind if i watch?

from me answering the OP's question, lol.

to me you dont have big hips at all but if you want to know enter your measurements here http://www.calculator.net/body-type-calculator.html to find out what type of body you have

That calculator told me I'm a banana even though my bust and hips measurement are exactly the same and my waist is 8 inches less (ie your standard hourglass).

    I'm confuuuuuused!!

    Does it really matter?

I don't think you have wide hips, but your hips do have a curve to them, they just don't seem wide. I wouldn't worry too much about what shape you are, classifying it is irrelevant.

I am pear shaped, my waist is 25" and my hips are 37" but I wouldn't mind losing an inch or two off that measurement!

After your comment I decided to try that calculatorm, even though I already know what shape I am  ... I am 37-27-37, and it told me "Sorry your body does not fit in the 4 types we calculate" or something like that

    I'm nearly 20. Why?

And yeah when I look in the mirror they look wider to me

I'm not a ruler. Rulers don't have D cups or C's for that matter.

As far as how I dress. I actually dress to eccentuate having an inverted triangle shape. But also emphasize waist. I have been trying to look for jeans that emphasize my narrow hips but emphasize my butt sometimes I just dress like how pears do's and dont's.

Your profile says 35. Just wondered if there were was a reason it was brought up. When women have children, some of the hips get wide so I wondered if that was what you were thinking.

    And I'm a ruler and I have D's.

thank you I need to change that

my shoulders are 39 inches thank you very much :)

this is how I look completely not a ruler. But I guess you're right never will be an hourglass. I'm good with that as long as inverted triangles DO have defined waists

also when I lose weight I lose it in my hips I was a 35-23.8-32 before at my smallest. My bust stays large but my but goes down. I was thinking if I build it up with muscle and flatten my stomach then I could be 36-23-33.

    Oh.

    Welll.

I'm gonna say you look like a ruler/borderline inverted triangle. But I might be swaying more towards ruler/banana. Sorry.

But anyway. Back to my revolution!

Going to agree with this ^

And if you are a ruler, there is nothing wrong with that. Rulers do have hip definition, just not as much as say someone who is pear shaped.

Like I said, I am a ruler and minus the fat and flab right now, I love my shape and I'm enjoying seeing it as I lose the body fat.

I don't like the ruler shape it seems boring. And rulers don't have 40' shoulders. I have a ruler lower half if inverted triangles don't have defined waists. Then I guess I'm half rectangle half inverted triangle

Somewhere online I once found a site that used about 6 or 8 shapes instead of just 3. It included a cello ( a larger hourgalss), and a lollipop ( a slighltly topheavy hourglass with long thin legs). I would love to find these descriptions again, since they seem to give more options. I seemed to be a lollipop, which made much more sense than the hourglass.

Not that any of it really matters!!

You're an inverted triangle, and you don't appear to have much of a defined waist. Edited to say: looking at your pictures including your bust and shoulders, you definitely taper from top to bottom.

    If my waist wasn't defined I wouldn't have a 25 or like usual a 24' waist.

My waist is smaller than my hips. But I don't think in my case the waist really matters tbh.

Yeah you look like a triangle. your hips are really small compared to your shoulders. Im closer to a ruler shape and I have DD's so yeah you can have boobs and still not be an hourglass.

You look like a triangle to me. I have DD's and I look more like a ruler so you can still have boobs and a smaller but and no be an hourglass. I have some cushion in both areas and I don't have big hips so that make s me a ruler.

lollipops aren't hourglass shaped. They're top heavy... I'm actually a lollipop but that's not one of the standard shapes which I prefer.

Apparently I'm a skittle and I should stay away from short cut jackets and should wear things that make my legs longer and slimmer. Which is funny because I'm already basically all leg. I'm like two legs with boobs and ahead stapled on. Sheesh.

You're 20 years old and slender.

    WTF is wrong with that?

Nothing I actually like my shape I just wanted a name for it. I guess I'm an inverted trectangle lol

lmao. Ruler body shapes seem boring? Are you kidding me? LMAO. well..okay then. Best of luck OP.

Personally I think all body types are interesting and I can't believe how obsessed people are with labeling themselves. Does it make them happier to know they have an interesting body shape? Does it make them important? Does their shape translate to them being interesting even if they have a bad personality?

How does body shape define people as the person they are?

I am not sure why you are making this so difficult. Your question has been answered. No, you do not have 10 inches or more difference between your bust-waist-hips. You are not hourglass. You do not have "wide hips." You look like an inverted triangle. The end.
