Nov 17…..189.8…..(Trend Weight: 189.4)….. I almost convinced myself that I’d made some extra positive changes to my diet. Then I weighed myself this morning and after some investigation and reflection….Not really. Not enough anyway. I’m going to work on a better upcoming week. I’m running out of options for better health. There’s no way around exercise and you can’t outrun the fork. Gotta do it the old fashioned way and stop thinking I can outsmart the experts!
Nov 24…..189.6…..(Trend Weight: 189.2)….. I am not doing well in every possible way. Mentally, physically, emotionally. I’ve got to get a grip. Losing site of my own health is not helping anyone else who needs me right now.
Donna, it is very challenging when you find yourself plateauing after successfully losing a good deal of weight. My goal was to lose 100 pounds by last July 10th (52 weeks), and I got within a couple pounds of that. Then, my weight shot back up to 239, and fluctuated between ~233-239 for weeks, until finally this past week, when after 71 weeks I weighed 229.5. I've read that dieting long term, you can run into this problem. I guess our bodies need time to adjust to the new reality. My suggestion is, just be okay with trying to maintain your weight for a while. Eventually, you'll be ready for another round.
I fairly recently decided to forget about having failed at losing the whole 100 pounds, and I changed my goal for rate of weight loss to half a pound a week (from the 2 pounds a week I started with). Ironically, I now seem to be making some progress again. (knock on wood)
I really like the way you strike through your weight ranges on your march toward your goal. It instantly communicates where you've been and where you're at. If you don't mind, I'd like to start doing the same for myself. Here is what I've come up with.
(I think I've been extremely optimistic in choosing the final range, but we'll see):
330; 320's; 310's; 300's; 290's; 280's; 270's; 260's; 250's; 240's; 230's; 220's; 210's; 200's
Please don't be discouraged. You can do this. It just might take more time than you had planned.

So far so good. I'm focusing on tracking calories and paying attention to my protein intake - figuring out how to get more protein on a daily basis is a bit of a challenge but I think that's going to be key in feeling full and not losing muscle mass.
Most of the time I'm netting 2,200 calories or less but I have one day a week (hooray for pizza day!!) that I know it will be higher. My calorie focus is helping me do a better job of portion control.
I hope everyone had a happy Thanksgiving!10 -

I find maintenance is usually easy & occasionally (like right now) difficult fir a few days. Once my taste buds go back to low sodium/low sugar, it’s much easier.
It’s scary, but I can feel I’ll get back on track after a few days of attention.

Hi Friends! Hope you're having a great weekend!
@frankwbrown I love your posts. I think you're right about plateaus; the body is trying to get back to its equilibrium.
@Paz922 I need to lose the weight I gained in the last two years. I think the challenge will be not to gain weight during the holidays yet have fun.10 -
@cpanus You are doing amazing with your workouts!!! Bravo!4

Great work! Slow and steady- you are losing weight. Pizza Day is a great reward for your hard work. We have to live a little, right?5 -

Well I didn't get to the 180 or below. Had an uptick to 181.8 lbs but I was true to my calories, carbs, water and exercise so just a normal weight fluctuation. So I lost 30.2 lbs during the 3 month challenge. Which is excellent!
So starting 11/1 at 181.8 lbs with goal of 15 lbs for the 3 months. This 10 lb average / month that has been going on has got to slow down soon, I'm thinking.
Welcome back to past challengers and to the new ones!
64 yo 5' 4" Heaviest Weight twice-255 lbs, got down to 122 lbs 2010 and kept it off 5 years then got lazy.
11/1/21-181.8 lbs
11/7/21-180 lbs! Down 75 lbs.
11/14/21-176.6 lbs! Down 5.2 lbs of my monthly goal of 5 lbs and my 15 lbs for the 3 months. 78.4 lbs lost. About 60% loss of my goal of 133 lbs to lose. Did 223 minutes on my Elliptical today. I wanted to finish the last 10 minutes of the movie and wanted to hit the 16 mile mark!
11/21/21-177.4 lbs-stayed under my allotted calories/water but did eat 400-600 more calories than my usual 1000-1200. Had 1689 but with exercise was allowed 3804. I don't normally eat any of my exercise calories back. I have been losing about 10 lbs/month but expected it to slow down a month or 2 ago. Guess thats what it is doing now.
11/28/21-175 lbs. Down 80 lbs total, 6.8 lbs for November goal of 5 lbs! I did fairly well on Thanksgiving. I did my Elliptical in the morning (216 minutes-15.25 miles) At the 3 pm lunch I only ate meat (turkey, ham & pork) and broccoli and no gravy. (The sides just weren't calling to me to eat/try them, as usual, in the past). Later that night I did have a small piece of a homemade flan (I never had it before and the girl who made it is in pastry school) and someone else brought a pumpkin cheesecake that looked wondrous, from a Farmer's Market bakery, that I had brought home. I had 1,357 calories of my allotted 3,810, for the day.

Hello! I’m 34F, 5’4 and started using MFP again at the end of May and feel like I am in it for the long haul this time, learning how to cook healthy foods and creating healthy habits.
May 28th 2021 Weight 240lbs (also my highest weight)
Ultimate goal weight 170lbs (I’ll reassess once there but that feels more like a doable goal right now)
Challenge starting weight- 204lbs
Challenge end goal- 190lbs (Firmly into onederland)
Sunday is my weigh in day
11/01 204.0 up a bit from yesterday but had double my normal sodium intake yesterday. It makes for an even number to start out with
11/07 205.8 +1.8lbs had an imaging appointment the next town over was stressing out for, day of didn’t eat beforehand then went shopping and brought so many treats plus fast food for lunch and dinner. That was the only day I actually went over my bmr but was over my calorie goal more often this week. Plus side, results of imaging were good news.
11/14 204.0, 1.8 lbs lost, 0.0lbs lost this month. Alright, am now at least back where I started this month. Had a pretty good week, two hikes, one walk and two shopping days that got a lot of steps. Finally found a pair of hiking shoes that fit (had to get a mens pair as have not found one women’s pair in wide) Been wearing them around the house and for shopping, hopefully will be good today, first time using them on a hike.
11/21 203.4 -.6lbs the week and month. Okay week. 1 hike and 3 walks but was more hungry this week, and ate out a couple days so I was over my calorie goals a few times. Edited my calorie goal to losing .5lbs a week and may keep it like that for a bit… I won’t make my 190lb challenge goal that way but will still be in onderland by end of the challenge
11/28 202.2 -1.2lbs this week, 1.8lbs this month. 4 walks this week, I eat somewhat unhealthy for a few days this week. On the plus side I also tried a couple healthy new recipes: a Lentil-potato soup and a chicken curry. Both very nummy. Think the loss is more a cumulative couple week whoosh than anything in particular I did this week

I now weigh the same as I did on my wedding day. That was 18 years ago and 3 kids later. I'm so proud of myself for putting my mind to finally losing this weight and achieving this goal in life. I need to get back to weighing in everyday though.
Keep up the great work everyone! I was told this weekend at the ringette tournament I was at that I looked like a tiny teenager, lol. I'm 51 and only 5"0 so I guess I could see that with my jacket, mask and hat on, lol. Figured that was a compliment!10 -

Hello all! I am going to give this a try. I have been actively watching my CICO for almost 2 years. In the spring I started eating gluten free-ish (about 95%) to help alleviate symptoms from hashimoto's. I started Dec 1, 2019 at 231.0 lbs. I am a 38 year old mom of two who "loves" to run half marathons.
11/1: 203.4 lbs - 20 days out from my half marathon and no motivation to train.
11/2: 202.6 lbs - yesterday was a good day eating wise but not much exercise.
11/3: 202.4 lbs - I was able to get in a run yesterday and my husband made an awesome GF lasagna. good day all around!
11/4: 202.2 lbs - Not much activity yesterday but I kept my calories in line.
11/5: 201.6 lbs - I weighed in much later today which is probably most of the decrease. I ran 2 miles yesterday. I am 2 weeks out from my half marathon and couldn't do my last long run last weekend bc I was sick. So I broke my 12 miler over today and tomorrow. I ran 6 this afternoon and will run 6 tomorrow morning. I am eating gluten today bc Chick-fil-A chicken tenders sounded way too good after my run but I only ate half my fries bc I was full. Have a great weekend all!!
11/6: 202.0 lbs - I expected the increase due to the Chick-fil-A. I was only able to get in 3 miles this morning. I haven't eaten well today but stayed within my calories.
11/7: 201.8 lbs - not great for eating today. We will see what happens to the scale tomorrow.
11/8: DNW - I had to run out to the school bc my daughter forgot her glasses, so I did not weigh in. Happy Monday everyone!!
11/9: 202.8 lbs - I've been under calories everyday... frustrating but just the way it goes.
11/10: 202.0 lbs - I've been eating fairly well but not wanting to be active.
11/11: 202.0 lbs - happy thursday!
11/12: 200.6 lbs - I'm sure this loss will rebound a little. I weighed in late and did not eat much yesterday.
11/13: 200.6 lbs
11/14: 201.8 lbs
11/15: 202.2 lbs
11/16: 201.6 lbs - I ran a quick 2 miler yesterday. I am 5 days out from my half marathon and now it is time for the obsessive checking of the weather forecast. Ha!
11/17: 202.4 lbs - 4 days out current temps should be in the low 50s with 25% chance of rain.....
11/18: DNW
11/19: 201.0 lbs - 2 DAYS from half marathon!!! I'm now on to the hourly forecast. We are now up to mid 50s with 50% chance of rain.
11/20: 201.0 lbs. Picked up my packet for the race tomorrow. Super nervous!!!
11/21: 202.0 lbs - The half marathon went really well! I got a PR! My knees had been feeling a little twingy, so my husband helped me KT tape them and I had no pain!
11/22: 201.8 lbs - I think this weight is a lot of water weight form swelling after running yesterday. I'm going to have a donut this morning then back to normal eating!
11/23: 202.6 lbs - well.... I had a popeye's chicken sandwich for lunch.... which was delicious but not great for me. ha!
11/29: 199.8 lbs - I hope everyone had a great week! Thanksgiving food isn't really my jam so staying under calories has been fine this past week. I also have been more active since we got our new dog. I had ~ 17k steps yesterday after my run and walks with the dog. Have a great week all!!9 -

This has been a rough month eating-wise. Prior to this, I had the newbie blush of logging and exercising, easily staying at calories for a couple of months. Then November - a big birthday, with multiple days of celebration and the leftovers, Friendsgiving, Thanksgiving, more Friendsgiving, etc. This challenge has been at the back of my mind, so I'm thankful for the continued motivation to stay on track as much as possible.

Well...I discovered Skip The Dishes food delivery last Monday and that was NOT a good thing. Apparently one CAN order a cinnamon bun, lg Chocolate Chip Cookie, brownie & an extra serving of icing and have it delivered right to your door! Who knew!! 🙄
This incident on Monday set me up for quite a few days of taking too many calories. I consumed a lot of sugary sweets.
Most days last week I binged on sugar so no surprise I didn't lose any weight.
Im still keeping up the long walks tho.
This week my goal is to stay on target with the food in-take and no sugar binges!
Nice to see everyone's progress.
We got this😃6 -

Hello Everyone--I’m checking in a day early because it’s the end of the month. I’m happy to report that I met my November goal of losing 4 lbs, and I’m planning to lose another 4 pounds in December. I have not made any progress in completing the C25K program—I’ve been focused on recovering from a lingering cold. I’m looking forward to getting started once I’m feeling well. Best wishes to everyone!

My name is Donna and I am 61 years old. I live in the Midwest of the USA. 5' 5" tall. My starting weight was 253. I have relapsed in the past year and need to get back on track. I am type 2 diabetic and in remission for breast cancer. Health is my #1 priority.
Thank you @RubyRed427 for starting another challenge.

Nov 01…..189.4…..(Trend Weight: 187.7)…..What a horrid way to start the month. Pizza and Halloween candy were present but not to blame. It’s on me.
Nov 03…..189.0…..(Trend Weight: 187.9)….. Weight down a touch, but trending up. Good news on my surgery results. No sign of breast cancer in the surgical tissue lumpectomy. So it looks like I may be around awhile folks! Today is my daughter’s 27th birthday who lives with me. There will be festivities, food, cake, ice cream etc. So many reasons to double celebrate today for us! Tomorrow, back on track! Snow again here today. Outside too cold but I will try to get my steps in the house around the renovation men. The tile project should be done by tonight. Another week or two of men working and I will get a break until after New Years. I can’t wait!
Nov 10…..189.6…..(Trend Weight: 188.6)…..I’ve been eating horribly since I found out I needed the surgery. The surgery is over but the bingeing hasn’t stopped. It’s time to get myself back in control. This is counter-productive!

11/29/21-174.2 lbs.
11/30/21-176.2 lbs Ugh! Hopefully my usual uptick before a drop or water weight. I had Mission BBQ last evening.
Still down 5.6 lbs of my 5 lb monthly goal, so I'm ok. 7.6 would have been nicer though.7
