We ALL have good rounds and bad but that is part of life. Don’t stay away, stay accountable. We don’t judge, we support.-Jpv,2/13/19
What we need to succeed is a sustainable way of eating, not a DIET we go on and off.
People say keto/LCHF isn’t sustainable but I’ve been doing it for over 4 years with amazing results!
This is NOT A DIET. It’s a LIFESTYLE.

Day/Weight/Comment
11/07 …..189.0….. ENDING WEIGHT LAST ROUND
11/08 …..189.2 ….. (Trend weight xxxxx) Not off to a great start with the scale. Late night snacks brought on by excessive hunger. I worked hard in the yard yesterday for over 3 hours and burned over 700 calories just in raking. Those calories can come in much faster than they leave!
11/09 …..189.6 ….. Trend weight xxxxx) No TMI again. Very early weigh-in after, essentially, no sleep and all those other excuses. Yesterday it was not on my daughter. It was on me. I know what good habits are. I know what low calorie is and what low carb can do to help me. I recognize the right foods. It’s time to stop glancing at it all and start staring at what I need to do. It has been out of control since just before my surgery.
11/10 …..189.6 ….. (Trend weight 188.6) I just realized my fitbit wasn’t linking to my trendweight.com so my trending weights have been off. I think It may have something to do with my daughter’s new fitbit I bought her for her birthday. It may be scrambling up my info. I found another way to get it in the meantime so I’ve included it today. Sheesh….this is worse than I thought or imagined!
11/11 …..189.6 ….. (Trend weight 188.6)
11/12 …..189.4 ….. (Trend weight 188.8) I can’t take this many changes at once on the new format. I will work on trying to get my spoiler available but hidden first in order to shorten my posts again. Dr. appointment yesterday for surgery follow-up. They are trying to find me a cardiologist and an endocrinologist within 100 miles of my home (rural area). They also have to accept my insurance. Wish me luck on that!!!!!
11/13 ……189.2….. (Trend weight 189.0) I am happy to see a smaller number on the scale. However my trend weight just keeps going up and is almost matching my weight. I made yesterday a better day with some better choices. I am aiming for another good day. I hope this challenge will keep going and that we will not lose so many important people. Each and every one of you offer insight and value and I appreciate you all!
11/14 …..xxxxx ….. (Trend weight xxxxx)
11/15 …..xxxxx ….. (Trend weight xxxxx)
11/16 …..xxxxx ….. (Trend weight xxxxx)
11/17 …..xxxxx ….. (Trend weight xxxxx)
Every healthy habit brings me closer to scratching each of these off to NEVER see them again!

@quiltingjaine I sure hope I've missed a post where you've reconsidered leaving. If not, I hope you do decide to stay. You bring so much to this forum! It won't be the same without you!
@musicsax Thank you for offering to keep this forum going! If you need help, I'll be glad to step in when needed (even if hopefully @quiltingjaine stays and we just give her a break from posting every 10 days).
I'm getting use to the new format and it does seem to be a cleaner/easier to read format. However, I only post via my laptop so have no idea of the issues people are going thru via ipads or phones. Thank you to whoever got bbcode and preview back! And thanks to MFP for listening to our concerns!7 -

8: 220.5 Down 1 pound from when I started last week. I'll take it. I've been not feeling very good about having gained around 10 pounds since the ankle sprain/wasp sting event over the summer. I'm hoping I can stay focused this round and see some real results.
9: 220.0 Over calories yesterday, didn't make it to the gym, tracked only 40oz of water, and am now on about 5 hours of sleep for no reason. On the plus side, I ended my eating window about 2 hours early yesterday. That might be the only thing creating today's loss. Getting ready to go to the gym now, but gonna take it easy because I'm tired.

11: 222.0
12: 220.4
13: 217.8 I have not been able to access MFP Community since they worked on it several days ago, and it was somewhat challenging not being able to check in here. I still can't get here on my phone, which is super inconvenient. Anyway, I've kept up on going to the gym. The spike on the 11th was likely from going two days in a row and harvesting willow for several hours on that second day. Went to Applebee's for my Veterans Day meal. I love that the veteran menu has realistic portion sizes, as compared to their regular menu. I also picked up a veteran meal voucher from Texas Roadhouse, so I'm looking forward to using that on another trip to the city. I'm happy with my progress this week. Oh, and psst, hey stalker. Instead of hiding behind that disagree button, maybe you could share what you're actually disagreeing with in every single entry that I post. Just a thought.

Goal for this round: Maintain weight while continuing to focus on strength training and running
Previous days11/8 Forgot to weigh this morning because I was in a hurry. Had a nice non scale victory on my birthday morning though and ran the best 5 miles in a long time, 3 out of the 5 miles were sub 10 minute miles which I haven’t done in a LONG time! So, I’m super excited about that 😊. Another non scale victory I forgot to mention last week was that I took my measurements and lost an inch from my hips even though my weight has gone up and down over the past month and half since starting strength training.11/13 117.something Started the day with a 7 mile long run. Breakfast and lunch were good but I ate a lot of cake batter while making the cake and frosting for the birthday celebration with my in laws tonight. Then, we’ll be getting Thai which is pretty salty so I’m sure there will be a blip up for the next couple of days.
Today I’ll be catching up at work after being on vacation and then my husband is cooking us dinner while I go get a massage after work. So, it’ll be nice to get home and not have to worry/think about what’s for dinner (we were going to get Indian takeout but we some food in the fridge that needs to get cooked). Either way, I don’t have to think about it so it’s a win in my book. Have a happy Monday all!
11/9 119.4 Ugh, my body is a ball of pissed off hormones, TOM is arriving very soon and we ended up getting Indian takeout last night after all and then my mother in law surprised me with a couple treats from the bakery for my birthday which I indulged in, so hello water retention. Super tired today because I slept horribly and woke up feeling very sensitive to everything, it’s like all my senses were heightened in a panicky way. It was bizarre and reminded me of when I was younger and just “didn’t feel good” as my 10 year old self would say. I think it was just a borderline panic attack, so I hung out with my cat for a few minutes before getting my butt in gear to go for a nice slow 4 mile run to help recover from yesterday’s awesome but higher intensity run.
Food choices are going to be tough because when I’m tired I want all the foods that aren’t great for me. Even the Body Battery on my Garmin watch told me it was 43 to start the day when normally it’s 80+.
On the bright side I did have a lovely birthday and I’m looking forward to making 31 another great year for me!
11/10 118.4 pre workout 117.2 post workout. Feeling better today and was able to do a nice 6 mile run this morning. Food has been good today and I have pork tenderloin with veggies on the menu tonight for dinner. Not sure about which veggies but maybe some of the ones I already have roasted along with some salad greens and dressing.
11/11 Did not weight this morning but food was good yesterday and I’m off to a good start today as well. Did a nice slow 4 mile run this morning while catching up with my step mom. I agree with the others, this new update is not great. Not sure what’s for dinner except for another large salad from our CSA greens.

@PrimalJillian - I remember when you mentioned someone disagreeing with all your posts a while back and I thought maybe someone was accidently hitting it when they scrolled on their phone. Evidently, I was wrong and it is bothersome that whoever it is, has been on this thread long enough to continue to hit that button without an explanation.4

BBCcodes are the commands that you put in brackets [ spoiler ], [ color=blue ], etc.

I'm a 5'7" 54yo woman in SE Michigan.
I did a couple rounds earlier this fall and found them helpful! Then, I got super busy, had some travel, fell off the bandwagon, and gained some weight back. 🙄 I'm ready to jump back in and continue the journey here!
SW: 161 lbs
UGW: 145 lbs.
11/08 - 161.0 Had a good day - so busy, I didn't have time to snack! (Now that's busy! ) I did squeeze in a short jog at the arb in the gorgeous weather.
11/09 - 161.2 A little uptick, but my body has a delayed reaction. I limited snacking and ate well. Need to drink more water.
11/10 - 161.0 Got into snacking this afternoon, particularly peanut butter which is my Achilles heel.
11/11 - 161.2 Another busy day with not much snacking.
11/12 - 159.6 Beautiful day; would like to get in a jog - but I threw out my back again and I probably can't. Might try a walk. Need to drink more H20.
11/13 - 159.8 Went out to a nice restaurant for dinner with friends the 2nd night in a row (different friends - LOL!). We'll see what the damage is tomorrow. My back is doing better; I do back exercises (from PT) 1x /day to keep problems at bay and increase to 2x/ day when my back is not doing well, and they're very helpful. Was all set to jog this afternoon - but rainy sleet started coming down just as I got to the arb. *sigh* Nope.

I too love cake batter ! That and the fact that I would eat too much of the baked cake too means that I rarely bake, although I did bake with my two little DGC last Thursday, but I have to set an example and not dip into the bowl & they each scrapped their own mixing bowl that day which kept me under control !!3 -
Round 168 (100th for me). I prove yet again round after round that I need this to help keep me on track.

I was so disgusted and disappointed with myself the last few day of last round; so challenge for this round is to stay on track; I'm endeavouring yet again to have a binge free 10 days, after all it is only 10 days! – I want to drop a good few pounds by the start of December as I feel more comfy in a dress I want to wear for Peaky Blinders dance night – any loss will be a win!
Covid restrictions have mostly been lifted in England – we reached “freedom day” months ago, but remember there is still a pandemic, cases are continuing to rise: Covid is still around! Continue to wash hands, be kind, wear a mask in public indoor settings, always consider others.Achieved goal weigh of 125lb in summer 2016 by losing 66lb and then gradually gained between 7 and 11 since then & didn't want to gain any more, It's took me 75 rounds to achieve my under 130 target; back to maintenance again!! A healthy life style has to be a permanent way of life.

Day/Weight/Comment
11/8 136.2 – better numbers ! 7.3 miles walked yesterday, calories and carbs both just slightly over, no binge.
11/9 135.8 – yes! Back to where I was 5 days ago; 2 days to gain 3+ pounds, but 3 days to lose it and feel better for it ! A binge not only brings weight gain, but makes me feel bloated, uncomfortable, lethargic, generally disgruntled and my mouth breaks out in ulcers. It's about time I leant my lesson! 11.75 miles walked yesterday, a very good food day, calories well under, carbs just 9 over. No binge!
11/10 135 - 9.57 miles walked & then a good few hours helping DS with her newly purchased bungalow; taking up old wooden floor panels, underlay, removing skirting boards then loading into the skip. Reasonable food day, just about kept with in calories, but exceeded carbs.
11/11 135 – 10.01 miles walked yesterday, excellent food choices; calories and all macros in credit.
11/12 135.6 – 3 miles only walked yesterday. Over indulged on freshly baked crusty bread, but stopped myself going into a binge. Both calories & carbs over, but I did log every mouthful which is an improvement for me. Travelled up to childmind my little toddler DGS & took him up to spend the day with DIL and 2 DGDs aged 5 months & 3, we baked cup cakes with the older two then walked to the childrens playground before the return journey. A wonderful family day .
11/13 136.4 – 10.78 miles walked, ate at an Indian restaurant at 9.00pm, as you all know, there are no low calorie, low fat or low sodium choices on the menu !!! But the company made up for this, and of course I did enjoy the food ! Had a very low calorie lunch in preparation and walked to the restaurant too. I didn't even try to calculate the calories in my meal, to be honest can't remember the name of it; something like Atilia sizzling lamb ? Served with mushroom rice and naan bread, the later two items I shared with DH AND I left some of my bread, that has never been known for me !!! Plan a low calorie first half of the day, but of course Saturday is pizza night, AND will really push the water.
P.S both spoiler & BBC have worked this morning without any additional intervention from me !!
11/14 135.6 – sodium flushed away !! 11 miles walked, calories well under, carbs 9 over. A good choices day.

Day/Weight/Comment
11/08 - 182.4 Well the scale is up today, but that’s ok. I know I ate well yesterday and went for a hike. Hoping my last weigh-in wasn’t just a fluke and that the scale drops again.
11/09 - 180.8 Very happy to see the scale back down today. Ate well yesterday, though not much activity.
11/10 - 181.2 Sigh. Scale back up again for some reason. Stuck to my calories and meal plan yesterday though so will just keep at it.
11/11 - 182.6 I have no explanation for the scale going up once again. Stuck to my calories yesterday. Have to hope this is just normal fluctuation and I’ll have a big drop soon.
11/12 - 179.6 Grateful to see some forward progress. Stuck to my meal plan yesterday, though not much activity.
11/13 - 179.6 No movement, but had a reasonable and healthy eating day yesterday. Today I’m going out for lunch through so may end up seeing an increase tomorrow. Will try to get some exercise and drink lots of water to counter balance as much as possible.
11/14 - 181.4 As expected, scale is up following a salty (and delicious) restaurant meal yesterday. I was very active though (long bike ride) and drank plenty of water so hoping this goes away soon!

Day/Weight/Previous Day’s Comment
11/8 207.9 Walked 3.3 miles, ? cal, ? net carbs, 2 glasses wine. Wonderful jazz music brunch at Brennan’s with our adult children (they threw in their credit cards and would not let us pay), 60th birthday celebration for DH since we had the kids all together. Walked through our daughter’s new home built in 1948 … definitely a fixer upper in an up and coming area of town. She told her siblings she was pregnant at brunch. So much celebration this weekend. Taking my mom to the airport today and pulling the plug on gluttony for the rest of the week!
11/9 207.4 Walk 3 miles, Bike 20 min, ? cal, ? net carbs, AF.
11/10 206.7 Walked 1.3 + 1.3 miles, Strength Training 1 hr, weeding garden, ? cal, ? net carbs, AF. Still not journalling my food but I am paying more attention Mon & Tues. TODAY is the day I pull it all back together water, tracking every bite and exercise. Took the leftover pumpkin cookies & pear cake from the baby shower to alumnae social event last night instead of a bottle of wine. All the sweet temptations are gone!
11/11 205.5 Walked 1.6 + 3.1 + 1 miles, 1524 cal, 114 net carbs, AF. Donated blood (targeting 4x per year). Started journaling my food for the day in the morning again and then updating it throughout the day. Definitely makes me think before putting something else in my tummy and I’m more accountable.
11/12 207.0 Walked 1.8 + 1.4 miles, Strength Training 1 hr, 2267 cal, 151 net carbs, Torchy’s Tini. DH went to happy hour with clients. My sister stopped by to drop something off so we ended up going out as well. After I returned home I walked the dog once more before DH returned.
11/13 207.4 Walked 3.7 + 3.1 miles, 1642 cal, 118 net carbs, 2 glasses wine.
11/14 209.3 Walked 1 mile, 2431 cal, 242 net carbs, 1 wine, 1 blackberry liqueur w/ soda water. 11550 steps shopping at the Nutcracker Market with DD. DH’s birthday celebration with dear friends that included purple & gold layered cake.

I have NO explanation for this bump up from yesterday. Ok, yes I do but it involves an overabundance of information.

Marginal day of following my self-imposed rules yesterday.

Important work being done here. I wish I could remember that every day.
Had a spinning class last evening after work. I was there a few minutes early so I decided to do some upper body dumb-bell exercise. Very proud of myself for staying in my lane. The young lady next to me was using twice the weight I was lifting. Others were at many multiples more. I put my ego in my pocket and wasn’t even tempted to “look strong,” or “feel week!”
Very satisfying muscle soreness this morning and no injuries. Getting wise in my old age.

I am totally fine in this neighborhood. I need to train my metabolism to like it here. I need my metabolism to trust me. “No Mr. Metabolism, I will never starve you. So, you can burn away at your heart’s content. No need to hoard calories and store them for later!”
OK, that was weird.

This reading is better than I deserve after yesterday’s behavior. Regardless, I am at my lowest 10-day running average since September.
Looks like they have reinstated things so I can at least post the way I usually do. I keep a Word document and copy/paste from it each day. And the spoilers are back, 😊

Worked my buns off yesterday in the yard. (too bad buns are not my “problem” area. HA!) Ate half a frozen pizza and still lost weight! The rest of yesterday’s food was reasonable.
Today will be another story. Pizza out with folks to celebrate Mom’s birthday, then a turkey dinner+potluck for supper at church before the annual meeting.

11/8 216 (+.4) Hiked 6+ miles with my sister yesterday. It was a beautiful day in the mountains. I should be on a downward trend tomorrow. No scheduled exercise today, but I’ll be drinking lots of water.
11/9 215.4 (-.2) Today, I’m back in the pool. My low weight was last Friday. I had my indulgence meal Friday night and I’m still trying to catch back up. No hugs necessary. Just playing some mind games that come along with losing weight. As long as I stay focused, the whoosh will come.
11/10 213.6 (-2.0) This was my lowest weight last round so I’m glad to see it back on the scale today. Drank all my water yesterday and had a wonderful swim. No organized exercise today.
11/11 213.8 (-1.8) Today I’m meeting a friend for lunch, so I’ll have an indulgence meal. I’m sure I’ll be over calories, but I will be eating lighter for breakfast and dinner. Still on a downward trend overall.
11/12 214.2 (-1.4) I’ve been bouncing around in this area for the last ten days. I’m not surprised, but still a little frustrated. So I’m going to focus on eating right and exercising with the goal of being under 210 by the end of the month and leaving this struggle in the dust. Life’s been busy, in a good way, but I’m definitely not getting all my water in. Still logging and exercising, so it will come.
11/13 213.8 (-1.8) My weight is coming back down. Hoping for a new low this week. Swimming was great. No organized exercise today, but will be hiking with my sister tomorrow. Wow. We are already more than halfway through this round.
11/14 213.4 (-2.2) A new low…finally.:)

I had a fun day yesterday. I took my 4-mo-old puppy, Rory, to the local dog show and he earned his Canine Good Citizen (CGC) certificate and his Novice Trick Dog title! It’s a huge show, but he did fine in the chaos of people, dogs, & noise. Here’s he is after doing his tricks.
11/09 - 180, ave 179.6
Ok, this makes sense since my calories have been very close to maintenance for the past week. Slowly dropping back down.
11/10 - 178, ave 179.2
Nice drop! I think it’s all the walking in obedience class, because my calories were barely below maintenance and I had some sherbet and some triscuits and cheese last night. Whatever! I’m off now for a walk with the pup, aiming for 3 miles. That’s about his limit for now, and will give me a little peace and quiet later!
11/11 -177.8, Ave 178.7
Cutting & pasting. Anyone know if there’s a place to give feedback on the “improved” format? 😤🤮🤯
11/12 - 180.6, Ave 179.2
My inner bear is trying to pack on weight for the winter. 🐻 Still not a fan of the new format, but I’m figuring in out.
11/13 - 180.8, Ave 179.6
Oh, yeah, cheese and ice cream and two oatmeal chocolate chip cookies. Onward!
11/14 - 180, Ave 179.8
I ate too much again (but quite consciously!) and didn’t get my usual long walk, but I ate fully intending to cut my calories wayyyy back the rest of the week, so all good. I’m striving for not only weight loss but a sustainable way of eating that allows for a few days of cheeses and pastas, with my overall average intake lower. I’m finding this stops most cravings. I may not lose as fast as I could with more restriction, but as long as I’m trending downward over the long haul, that’s fine. And it’s snowing here!

Hello everyone, late joining this group. Joined mfp yesterday and thought I'd give it a try.
Been at this weight for a long time and decided it was time get moving on losing the excess lbs and to getting healthier. Better to do it with like minded people, instead of alone. With the holidays looming in the very near future, now's a good time as any to start this new journey.

11/12 Did not post
I too love cake batter ! That and the fact that I would eat too much of the baked cake too means that I rarely bake, although I did bake with my two little DGC last Thursday, but I have to set an example and not dip into the bowl & they each scrapped their own mixing bowl that day which kept me under control !!
Oooo that is a good incentive for you, I’m glad it worked well!
This year I only made a one layer cake at least and didn’t start my morning today with cake for breakfast. So it’s already looking better than last year and there is a lot less left over as well (my in laws each took a slice or two for themselves, so we only have a 1/3 of a one layer 9in cake left. So I’m hoping to not gain 3 lbs from birthday cake this year. I’ll have one piece today and freeze the rest for a later date.4 -
