@starrjulia8 thank you! What kind of puzzles do you do? I currently have 3 crosswords on the table. I told my husband I think I’m brain dead. He’s a Sudoku guy. We also used to do lots of jigsaw puzzles but Oskar is too fond of knocking things off the table!3

We ALL have good rounds and bad but that is part of life. Don’t stay away, stay accountable. We don’t judge, we support.-Jpv,2/13/19
What we need to succeed is a sustainable way of eating, not a DIET we go on and off.
People say keto/LCHF isn’t sustainable but I’ve been doing it for over 4 years with amazing results!
This is NOT A DIET. It’s a LIFESTYLE.

Let’s do this!
This is round 8 for me.
161 SW: 222.2
EW: 221.6
162 EW: 218.6
163 EW: 211.8
164 EW: 211.6
165 EW: 206.0
166 EW: 206.2
167 EW: 203.2
Round 168 goals: Pelo 2-3x/week; strength training 2-3x/week; 10,000 steps/day; <90 net carbs/day; lose as much weight as I can!
SW: 203.2
11/8: 201.8 53 net carbs, Pelo ride done, and step goal achieved. I’m starting to see a pattern emerging with the way my body loses now- stalling for about 2 weeks surrounding TOM, then suddenly dropping a lot all at once for about 10 days before starting the pattern again. That makes it feel like I have very little time each month to lose, but if it’s going to be bunch within those 10 days, then it’s really not so bad after all.
11/9: 201.6 63 net carbs, step goal achieved, and strength workout done. I had an incident where I had my injera recipe put into the MFP recipe calculator previously, but made it a little different this time but didn’t edit the recipe until after I already ate it. Still managed to pull off a good day in spite of the injera incident though, so I’m happy with that 0.2 loss! I also am wearing a pair of size 10 jeans today- the first time I’ve actually worn them since I bought them a few weeks ago as a motivator. Talk about a confidence boost!
11/10: 200.8 I’m so close to under 200 I can taste it! I was concerned pizza night night cause issues, but it obviously didn’t. 77 net carbs, step goal hit, and Pelo ride done. Come on 199!!!
11/11: 201.8 Well, here we are again. I’m not exactly surprised, just disappointed. I was hoping for another day or two to drop below 200 before the hormonal stall. No such luck. If this time around is anything like last time, that puts the end of the stall coming on Thanksgiving, just in time for the feasting day. Womp womp. Lol But it’ll pass, I know that! I can still very easily see <200 by the end of the month! 70 net carbs, step goal achieved, and strength training done yesterday.
11/12: 200.8 39 net carbs, step goal hit, and Pelo ride done. Maybe, just maybe I’ll see that 199 tomorrow yet. If not, then I’m sure it’ll be another couple of weeks. We’re attending a weeding out of state tomorrow evening, which means eating a few meals out this weekend. It’ll be what it’ll be, and I’ll be under 200 pretty darn soon regardless!
11/13:199.8 YAHOOOOOOO!! All I wanted was to see that 1 in front by today. We’re heading out of town for a wedding and I just wanted that 199.x before a little bit of planned indulgence. 34 net carbs and step goal achieved yesterday.
11/14: DNW carbs ??? Step goal ??? Wedding out of town last night, so I gave myself permission to enjoy the night after I had a well navigated lunch. Back at it today!
11/15: 199.0 I really had no idea what to expect, after the wedding and riding in the car for 5 hours each day both Saturday and Sunday. I was shocked in the most delightful way to see this drop! 21 net carbs and a Pelo ride done yesterday. Didn’t hit my step goal due to car ride, but still a successful day!

Goal for this round: Maintain weight while continuing to focus on strength training and running
Previous days11/8 Forgot to weigh this morning because I was in a hurry. Had a nice non scale victory on my birthday morning though and ran the best 5 miles in a long time, 3 out of the 5 miles were sub 10 minute miles which I haven’t done in a LONG time! So, I’m super excited about that 😊. Another non scale victory I forgot to mention last week was that I took my measurements and lost an inch from my hips even though my weight has gone up and down over the past month and half since starting strength training.11/15 120 pre-workout. Didn’t weigh post workout. I’m cool with it. I did some comparison pictures today from various weights over the past year and a half and although I’m technically higher in weight, I noticed I’m still the same size as in my lower weights. So, I have my muscle to thank for that. Food has been good today and I had another awesome run this morning along with a strength workout during my lunch.
Today I’ll be catching up at work after being on vacation and then my husband is cooking us dinner while I go get a massage after work. So, it’ll be nice to get home and not have to worry/think about what’s for dinner (we were going to get Indian takeout but we some food in the fridge that needs to get cooked). Either way, I don’t have to think about it so it’s a win in my book. Have a happy Monday all!
11/9 119.4 Ugh, my body is a ball of pissed off hormones, TOM is arriving very soon and we ended up getting Indian takeout last night after all and then my mother in law surprised me with a couple treats from the bakery for my birthday which I indulged in, so hello water retention. Super tired today because I slept horribly and woke up feeling very sensitive to everything, it’s like all my senses were heightened in a panicky way. It was bizarre and reminded me of when I was younger and just “didn’t feel good” as my 10 year old self would say. I think it was just a borderline panic attack, so I hung out with my cat for a few minutes before getting my butt in gear to go for a nice slow 4 mile run to help recover from yesterday’s awesome but higher intensity run.
Food choices are going to be tough because when I’m tired I want all the foods that aren’t great for me. Even the Body Battery on my Garmin watch told me it was 43 to start the day when normally it’s 80+.
On the bright side I did have a lovely birthday and I’m looking forward to making 31 another great year for me!
11/10 118.4 pre workout 117.2 post workout. Feeling better today and was able to do a nice 6 mile run this morning. Food has been good today and I have pork tenderloin with veggies on the menu tonight for dinner. Not sure about which veggies but maybe some of the ones I already have roasted along with some salad greens and dressing.
11/11 Did not weight this morning but food was good yesterday and I’m off to a good start today as well. Did a nice slow 4 mile run this morning while catching up with my step mom. I agree with the others, this new update is not great. Not sure what’s for dinner except for another large salad from our CSA greens.
11/12 Did not post
11/13 117.something Started the day with a 7 mile long run. Breakfast and lunch were good but I ate a lot of cake batter while making the cake and frosting for the birthday celebration with my in laws tonight. Then, we’ll be getting Thai which is pretty salty so I’m sure there will be a blip up for the next couple of days.
11/14 Did not weigh. Made a baked French toast with high fiber challah bread for breakfast, Lunch was some left over Tom Kha soup and brown rice from Bi Bim Bap bowl I got for our birthday dinner last night and had one slice of the cake too. Dinner will be lots of veggies because we have an excessive amount still left from our CSA. We got behind one week on eating the majority of the veggies and now each week we have so much left over. I’m going to sauté or steam some of the greens so they’ll be easy to freeze and add to soups this winter/spring. I think I might blanch the cauliflower we have and pop it in the freezer. I’m grateful our top freezer/fridge has a really good sized freezer.

Welcome! to JGM10Days Mary @mazzeryamaryliss
Well don't disagree with me on this, unless you have posted new threads on MFP using an Android device, you won't realize... It is SO MUCH SIMPLER to post a new discussion now! It's just hanging out at the touch of the blue + sign! ❤
Anyway, I offered last week when everyone was crying the blues over the changes on MFP. I can help in posting new JGM10D rounds. I've always thought it should be a shared responsibility. It's not difficult.7 -

I was late to the discussion about it, but I was definitely going to hop in and offer to help post. Never done it before, but I figured it couldn't be THAT hard, right? My only problem is my schedule being wonky, I don't know if I could be reliable every 10 days for a new one, but here and there if needed!7 -

Day/Weight/Comment
11/8 / 198.8 / Haven't had an overnight jump that large in a while. My period did start yesterday. I ate on point though and walked almost 20,000 steps plus a Peloton bike ride. Had a very great day and off to make today another one.
11/9 / 198.6 / Donated blood yesterday. Super busy day today! Have moved a lot already so hoping to see the scale down some more again tomorrow.
11/10 / 199.2 / Got all my movement in early yesterday as we were volunteering at night. Ate a big salty snack right before bed but it fit within my calories.
11/11 / 197.4 / Alright - almost back to where I started. Yesterday we had a yummy salmon dinner and I rode my Peloton for the longest ride yet (45 mins).
11/12 / 196.6 / Got a lot of exercise yesterday and felt great about it. Today was a very busy day at work - so glad the weekend is here!
11/13 / 195 / Things are rolling now. It seems as I drop weight my body has become much more sensitive to my TOM than it did almost 100 pounds ago (or I was losing so fast back then it wasn't as detectable to me). In any event, it's interesting watching how the body works. Had a great day of eating again yesterday and got my exercise in.
11/14 / 192.2 / Wow - after holding on to weight for the first part of this round my body is sure flushing it out now! I have officially passed the 100+ pounds lost with this weigh-in! So excited.
11/15 / 192.8 / Did my first Peloton Bike Bootcamp yesterday (bike/strength combo) and it kicked my butt! So glad most of the big drop I had yesterday held.

@CamandJarvis, My thoughts on sharing posting responsibility is not one person taking it on for months at a time. More a team effort, taking the responsibility to post a few rounds and tag it to next person who has volunteered. I'm sure we can work this out so that it's not burdensome.7

11/8 206 Off to a better start
11/9 207.8 We went out for lunch yesterday and I had a cheeseburger with salty fries. I did drink more water than usual and I am hoping that is why there is a big gain. We will see if that is why tomorrow but staying vigilant today. My goal is to be under 200 and into the100’s by end of the year. I need to be better!
11/10 206.4 A lot of work outside with raking the leaves. Also it looks like water retention from Monday’s lunch is gone. Now to have a good day today. Husband is on radiation treatment #12 of 20 and everything at this moment is good. Keeping everything in perspective and positive.
11/11 205.6 I’m finally starting to see some progress. Just need to think hard about how to get through the holiday season. One day at a time I guess.
11/12 205.2 I’m happy with that. I really thought that I would be up a little bit today. When we began this round I thought my end round goal of 204 was a bit high for this time of the year but maybe not. I‘ll be happy to just get close.
11/13 204.8 Yeah! 😆
11/14 204.6 Not expecting this. We went out for lunch yesterday and I thought there would be a gain today. Any loss is a positive in my book.😄
11/15 204.8 Happy with this. Still staying basically the same.

Round 168 (100th for me). I prove yet again round after round that I need this to help keep me on track.
@QuiltingJaine-thank you for setting up the new round.
I was so disgusted and disappointed with myself the last few day of last round; so challenge for this round is to stay on track; I'm endeavouring yet again to have a binge free 10 days, after all it is only 10 days! – I want to drop a good few pounds by the start of December as I feel more comfy in a dress I want to wear for Peaky Blinders dance night – any loss will be a win!
Covid restrictions have mostly been lifted in England – we reached “freedom day” months ago, but remember there is still a pandemic, cases are continuing to rise: Covid is still around! Continue to wash hands, be kind, wear a mask in public indoor settings, always consider others.Achieved goal weigh of 125lb in summer 2016 by losing 66lb and then gradually gained between 7 and 11 since then & didn't want to gain any more, It's took me 75 rounds to achieve my under 130 target; back to maintenance again!! A healthy life style has to be a permanent way of life.

Day/Weight/Comment
11/8 136.2 – better numbers ! 7.3 miles walked yesterday, calories and carbs both just slightly over, no binge.
11/9 135.8 – yes! Back to where I was 5 days ago; 2 days to gain 3+ pounds, but 3 days to lose it and feel better for it ! A binge not only brings weight gain, but makes me feel bloated, uncomfortable, lethargic, generally disgruntled and my mouth breaks out in ulcers. It's about time I leant my lesson! 11.75 miles walked yesterday, a very good food day, calories well under, carbs just 9 over. No binge!
11/10 135 - 9.57 miles walked & then a good few hours helping DS with her newly purchased bungalow; taking up old wooden floor panels, underlay, removing skirting boards then loading into the skip. Reasonable food day, just about kept with in calories, but exceeded carbs.
11/11 135 – 10.01 miles walked yesterday, excellent food choices; calories and all macros in credit.
11/12 135.6 – 3 miles only walked yesterday. Over indulged on freshly baked crusty bread, but stopped myself going into a binge. Both calories & carbs over, but I did log every mouthful which is an improvement for me. Travelled up to childmind my little toddler DGS & took him up to spend the day with DIL and 2 DGDs aged 5 months & 3, we baked cup cakes with the older two then walked to the children's playground before the return journey. A wonderful family day .
11/13 136.4 – 10.78 miles walked, ate at an Indian restaurant at 9.00pm, as you all know, there are no low calorie, low fat or low sodium choices on the menu !!! But the company made up for this, and of course I did enjoy the food ! Had a very low calorie lunch in preparation and walked to the restaurant too. I didn't even try to calculate the calories in my meal, to be honest can't remember the name of it; something like Atilia sizzling lamb ? Served with mushroom rice and naan bread, the later two items I shared with DH AND I left some of my bread, that has never been known for me !!! Plan a low calorie first half of the day, but of course Saturday is pizza night, AND will really push the water.
P.S both spoiler & BBC have worked this morning without any additional intervention from me !!
11/14 135.6 – sodium flushed away !! 11 miles walked, calories well under, carbs 9 over. A good choices day.
11/15 135.6 – 7.6 miles walked yesterday, out for lunch with some long-standing friends who have returned from living in Spain and who we have not seen for 2 years. Delicious food and no evening meal as I was still full ! Just about within calories, but carbs over.
11/16 135.6 – 9.56 miles walked yesterday, good food day, calories & all macros in limits. Had my covid booster yesterday, really lucky to report no adverse reaction.
11/17 My 1000th post on JGM10Ds !!!!!
KEEP SAFE EVERYONE . Keep calm – Covid is still out there take care, we're still in this together!

*********************************************
11/08 146.6 (trend 146.6) was hoping to start this round at a lower number after seeing 145.# several times last round but hey ho. TOTM started today with a vengeance, which explains why I've been such a monster to my family the last few days! Feeling pretty nauseous and weak, must try to avoid stuffing my face for comfort. Not sure what to set my goal weight at this round, I'll aim high but any loss will be a win.
11/09 145.8 (146.5) Hopefully this is the end of the bloat, fingers crossed. Didn't make the best food choices yesterday, had no breakfast, bolognese and veg for lunch and a piece of fruit... all good but then I scoffed a portion of chip shop chips with loads of ketchup, doh! Still came in just under calories though, phew!
11/10 145.2 (trend 146.3) November is going so fast! Starting to feel like I'm treading water again with my weight loss and I need to find a way to get things moving again. I definitely feel like I'm losing better and feeling better now that I've upped my calories a bit (conversely) but my activity levels aren't that great in the evenings. I work on my kitchen reno until it starts to get darkish at 4pm then there's not enough light in the room to see what I'm doing so I get changed and basically sit for the rest of the day, not good.
11/11 147.0 (trend 146.4) Didn't want to post this today but I have to stay accountable. Had a blow out yesterday, beers and nachos at the pub then pizza and chocolate at home.
Hope I haven't messed up the whole round, still 6 days to pull this back.
11/12 148.6 (trend 146.8) Yikes! Need to get back in control, desperately!
11/13 147.2 (trend 146.8) Well I think I'm getting the hang of this new format, ish! I have saved links to my mfp bookmarks into a folder on my phone home screen so that they are easier to access. Still finding it tricky to browse the forum but at least I can now find my challenges quickly!
The daily habit of checking in with you guys, sharing your struggles and successes and staying accountable through the highs and lows is probably the only way I've managed to stick at this for this long! I don't think it's an overreaction to feel some distress when you can't find an important tool in your tool box for fixing something that affects your physical and mental health. Happy Saturday my lovelies 😘
11/14 146.2 (trend 146.6) Totally knackered from painting the walls and ceiling of a 12' by 15' kitchen 3 times in the last 3 days. Two more coats to do on the walls tomorrow (at least) but just think of the calories burned! It would be great if everyone else in the house took up some of the slack and cleaned up after themselves, as I'm watching the house turn into a pigsty while I'm busy and knowing I'm gonna have to tackle it once I'm done! Gah.
Too tired to cook so it looks like canned soup for dinner, argh, salty!
Sorry for whinging x
11/15 145.0 (trend 146.5) Phew, I'm so relieved to see my weight coming back down again at last! Lesson learnt after a carb fest this week when I'm usually lowish carb. Chips, pizza, naan bread, nachos, chocolate etc, yikes! Oh, and lots of salt! I've been so bloated and uncomfortable, still feeling a bit puffy but much better. Gonna avoid grains and starches for a few days and drink lots of water.
11/16 145.2 (trend 146.3) Think this uptick is just because of no tmi this morning. Yesterday was better food-wise but I still didn't track properly, I really need to make that my absolute priority next round if I'm ever going to get out of the overweight BMI category. Just 2.4 little pounds to go, I can do that surely!

@39flavours I get bloated and miserable from carbs not salt. One issue I have had is cramping in my feet so in the evening I eat pink salt. What ever trace minerals are in it make a difference.
Thank you for the insight! I have black salt in the cupboard, no pink salt, but apparently black salt has de-bloating properties too
From webmd:
"Health Benefits
Black salt has antioxidant properties and has surprisingly low sodium levels. It also contains important minerals like iron, calcium, and magnesium, which are essential to healthy bodies.
Other added benefits of black salt include:
Reduces Heartburn and Bloating
Black salt stimulates bile production in the liver, and helps control heartburn and bloating. It restricts acid levels and reduces reflux. A pinch of salt can reduce the formation of gases and limit bloating and flatulence.
Digestion
If you have digestive issues, black salt is a good remedy to help your liver make bile and improve the body’s fat-soluble vitamin absorption in the small intestine.
Heart Health
Black salt contains an Ama, or toxic remains of improperly digested food in the stomach, reducing property. This component helps reduce cholesterol.
It also regulates blood pressure by acting as a natural blood thinner. Doctors recommend no more than 6 grams per day, as taking more than this can raise your blood pressure. If you have high blood pressure, do not take more than 3.75 grams per day."
I have been looking into FODMAPS and thinking of trying an elimination diet
Also need to eat more live yoghurt and get better gut bacteria
