WELL. My effort was a failure lol - my knee gave up with 1 km to go to the top, and then less than an hour later my trainer unsynched from Zwift and brought the entire ride to an end. Gonna soak in the tub and recover - maybe tonight I'll work on finishing the Wahoo climbing challenge (less than 3,000 feet of climbing left) and the Strava January climbing challenge (less than 6,000 feet of climbing left, but only 2 days to get it done), if my knee's up to it.

@wendsg Bummer about the knee but sounds like you still accomplished great things before that happened.
I'm having a little funny business in my left hip flexor so I'm going to take a rest day off the bike today... I was all geared up for a 60 minute ride first thing this morning but better safe than sorry I think

Had to test the trainer and make sure it didn't need troubleshooting. Fortunately it worked fine. Just did the shortest available circuit in Zwift to check everything out.

Unfortunately, the knee said 'nope, you're dumb,' so it looks like my rides will be at minimum resistance setting for at least a week while I let it recover. 😖

@wendsg - sorry to hear about the knee, glad you're easing up on the resistance!
@ashleycarole86 - hope the hip flexor responds to the rest!
    @pridesabtch - Migraine, ugh!!

LOL Looks like @Bill70sStrong is the only guy hangin' on without injury! 🤣

Tomorrow I'm trying a 2 hour low resistance ride in Zwift with a smidge of climbing. We'll see how it goes.

Thanks all. It's still there, I hate taking rest days off the bike but I suspect all my increased intensity with higher than usual resistance in the last week overdid it. I'm part of a challenge that has 5 rides I need done by next week... trying to rest so I can get it done as prescribed but we'll see.

Well, my knee officially hates me. And its twin is joining in thanks to me compensating for it. But turning the resistance off on the H2 trainer definitely made this ride accomplishable. While it's not impressive for the distance, I got a good chunk of climbing done! Only 5,800 feet of climbing to finish before February 26th to finish up this challenge now. (if only I could power up these climbs like normal, though - stupid joints.)

Knee's still not pleased, but it felt decent enough that I was able to turn the resistance up a bit on the trainer for my Zwift ride this morning. It also (mostly) survived delivering the kiddo's bike to school (it was 34F this morning so she didn't want to ride to school, but with temperatures in the mid 60F range for the afternoon, she really wanted to ride home. Leave it to Mom to deliver her bike to make it possible!).

Moto to live by - The Body Always Wins!

My foot is getting better but now I have some light back pain - probably from all the limping. But this too shall pass, I hope :)

Total for the month 152.14 miles almost 11 hours. No real treadmill walking but no rush.

Sorry so many are having niggles and pains. It's very frustrating when you want to push on.

@wendsg - I saw you did the virtual Mont Ventoux stage. We watched the 2016 stage there. We almost got to the top but the police where turning people back as it was too windy, so then in Aug 2019 we did a driving holiday in France and went back to Mont Ventoux and took in some of the other Tour de France climbs including Alps d'Huez, Col du Galibier, and Col d'Izoard. (All driving :) ) It was an amazing time.

@Mari33a That is so cool!!! I would so love to be able to ride Mont Ventoux and Alps d'Huez in real life, but as my chances of making it back overseas are slim, I settle for the Zwift version. I've heard that the Ventoux is much more forested in real life! That'd be so sweet to see. Though forests usually = bugs, so.... maybe sticking to virtual isn't terrible?

And congratulations, @ashleycarole86 , for getting that ride in! Hopefully your leg makes a full recovery quickly!

@ADC0809 Gah, as the queen of back pain, lemme just wish you a swift cessation of pain. It sucks. At least the foot's on the mend!

And 'gratz everyone else for the continued uptick of the miles! Only month 2, and we're all doing great! (I remember 2019 where I joined an insane challenge and did 1000 miles in one month - never again  So much better to space it out over a year! Two months isn't impossible, but ugh)

Today was a weights day, but I got to deliver the munchkin's bike to school LOL - every little bit helps! And this time, my left knee was popping but never developed pain and straightened itself back out on the jog back to the house. Right knee gave no issues (it's normally my problem knee), but my quads were on FIRE riding a size XS frame (on a fixie cruiser with its seat looooow) vice my typical 55cm/size M road bike frame that I'm used to  Gah, delivering her bike's a pain! And I'm doing it again tomorrow. Save me.
