It was simply by hard work!! No fads, no gimmicks, (these things may LOOK GOOD on ads, but the reality of them never work out long term). I cut back my calories, I tracked all of my food, I started off so slowly with exercise because when you weigh 288 lbs it's NEVER EVER EASY!! Now I am at 175 (BYE BYE 113 lbs!)
What did it cost me? Just time, and learning to care about myself. SURE I did give up some of the stuff I enjoy, though not really. I've learned that cooking some, helped me, but I did not cut out any types of foods. Why NOT? I've seen to many lose the weight they wanted by not eating what they enjoyed, in the end, they reached their goal, left the site, stopped tracking, eventually stopped exercise, than they come back gaining some or most of it back. I did this also the first time around. I am NOT now.
BUT we need support!! And I've found it with the 5% Challenge. Here's your chance to also find the support I have, other members who goals is lose weight, but in a manner you enjoy, while also exercising at your CURRENT level (I was a total couch potato and due to health concerns, right now I am about 20 to 30 mins a day (some days 0) and yet the weight IS coming off. Slowly, but it's coming off!!
