@eleanorhawkins he's very upset with me atm. I didn't do the first 2 days, hen only 4.5k of 8 on my first run back. Was supposed to do a tempo run this morning but skipped cause I was really tired and all my muscles are so sore from yesterday's workout
Oh well.5 -

I know it's not easy! It's very difficult to find anything in Vienna nowadays too I housed a family of four for couple weeks, but we finally found them a more permanent place. But to me it looks like the influx of refugees in Austria is getting smaller - maybe I am wrong...2 -

@shanaber You are getting your exercise with Beaux. Love all of the pictures and video. They get along so well. As for temperatures, we're supposed to be 80 today and 28 Monday morning. These huge swings are horrible and playing havoc on the vegetation.
Nice run @rheddmobile . Sometimes it is hard to go slow enough to keep the HR down. That does seem like a fishy story from the young lady.
@Avidkeo Hal is going to give up on you. LOL

Hi y'all! I don't remember when I fell off the challenge, but as usual, I'm back.
With my coach, I'm never sure how many miles I'll do a month since she gives me my plan week by week. I would think 50 would be a safe bet. I did about 42 in March but that included my 30k (we won't talk about how that went...) and I had about 3 weeks off after.
I don't have any current races or goals so for the summer I am focusing on fat/weight loss. I'll be running around 15ish miles a week plus 1 bike ride, and 4 days of lifting. My long runs will only be about 6-8 miles until I figure out what I want to do. Plus I am tired of long runs in 90 degree mornings so a slower summer will be nice.6 -
The weathers been awful since Monday but got a run in today, it was still windy and I got rained on but its done. The wind kills me. Yesterday I put on my running gear at 12.30pm hoping for a little break in the rain but gave up by 4pm and did an hour on my spin bike instead.
01/04 2.12 miles
06/04 2.36 miles

I like to keep y'all on your toes! LOL1 -
Morning all!
Muscles have recovered enough that I did a tempo run this morning. Yay. I woke up early and didn't feel like running. But kept thinking I never regret a run, and I didn't.
It is a lovely cool morning, great to get out again. Calf is good and muscles were OK.
I'm on call tonight so not sure what I'm going to do tomorrow. I have a 5k on Saturday, after I RD Parkrun yay.
Booked flights and hotel for my HM. Mum is coming with me and we are making it a girls weekend away - actually staying at the Hilton! It's really close to the start line. Actually starting to look forward to it!7 -
@Avidkeo yay for a nice tempo run, and for making reservations for your HM race. I'm sure you will have a great time!
Did an easy 6 miles on the treadmill again. Felt a lot better today. The easy run actually felt easy 😁
My brother sent this to me today. Sometimes running is like this (thankfully not all the time).

Trying to get this right. I looked at my log this morning and noted I missed a day. The following should be correct:
April 1: 0.59 miles
April 2: 1.11 miles
April 3: 0.49 miles
April 4: 1.56 miles
April 5: 2.54 miles
April 6: 1.31 miles
Sorry to everyone facing summer temperatures already! We've been having alternating 70s and 40s. Keeping the jacket handy.
Soon to post pics of my 4 legged exercise companions, need a photographer!6 -
April Goal: 100 Miles
4/3: 10.02 miles
4/5: 5.25 miles
4/6: 5.31 miles
20.58/100 miles completed for April
I ran 5 miles this morning. It wasn't foggy like yesterday. There was a strong North wind today. Yesterday we were up to 95, but today it only got up to about 70. It's supposed to be in the mid 40's for my run tomorrow. I guess it is just typical spring weather.
Thanks for the tips @rheddmobile and @aine8046.
Good to see you back @RunsOnEspresso!

@kgirlhart - the weather is bipolar right now I think. We are in the low 60's one day and then 95 and 100 for a few days and back to the low 60's. The humidity is really low too - 7% today soo high fire danger.
@klt052194 - that is perfect weather temperature for running in my perspective!
@Scott6255 - love that meme! Perfect!
Went out for a run with both pups today but it was too hot and my arm was aching so we went for a fast walk again instead. The pups are so great together. Beaux encourages Hobbes to keep up and Hobbes keeps Beaux moderated. We're ready to go!

It does seem to have slowed down, and everyone helping has gotten more organized.
But having to sign them up for school BEFORE being able to submit paperwork for getting financial assistance means that we're now somewhat locked into finding housing in this neighborhood so that the children don't have to switch schools. I'm checking real estate announcements daily. The few listings aren't even close to affordable (almost what we pay for renting an entire house, for 1 or 2 rooms), and one listing that I inquired about only stayed up for 4 hours. It was too expensive as well. And the lady from the government office isn't responding to my calls, probably busy with everyone else.5 -

4/1 – 5.41 miles
4/4 – 4.21 miles
4/5 – 5.37 miles
4/6 – 4.56 miles
After work yesterday, I went to our local park that has a one-mile loop that is mostly through the woods but circles around the baseball field on a grass path and then on the pavement for a few yards. Unfortunately, the high schoolers were using the baseball field for a game and I didn’t want to be running alongside the outfield where everyone’s attention was focused. So, I ran the section in the woods repeatedly. I ended up walking quite a bit because this was where all the hills are plus it was a beautiful 73F. It’s hard acclimating the body to that bipolar weather.
Thanks for the pictures @shanaber. They are both so cute! Hobbes was looking quite the gentleman in his bow tie yesterday. That was a fast walk pace you had there!
Welcome @klt052194!
Good to see you back @RunsOnEspresso.
Continued prayers for your guests and for others from and still in Ukraine @polskagirl01. Prayers for you and your family also.
Way to work the wind @Mari33a!

@shanaber The puppies are so cute! 😍0

Just joining back in—this was such a wonderful community for me and I was scrolling through the April pages happy to see familiar names!
April goal here: I’ll go for 70? I’m doing a HM on May 1, so it’s pretty determined as long as I keep up with the plan.
I struggled with plantar fasciitis in the Fall of 2019 and then once it was better signed up for the Vancouver BMO half in 2020, and once that was cancelled, have been pretty off and on with my running—some consistency but low volume.
Hi to everyone!!
4/2 10 mi
4/5 5 mi
April total: 15/70
Races:
March 27 Seattle Cherry Blossom 5K
April 9 Tenacious Ten 10K
May 1 Vancouver BMO Half Marathon9 -
Darn it. I am behind a couple pages already...
Welcome Kathy to the zoo...
Goal 125
April 1 - 7.01 miles
April 2 - 4.21 cum 11.22
April 3 - 10.01 cum 21.23
April 4 - 4.03 cum 25.26
April 5 - 4.01
April 6 - 5.02
April 7 - 3.01+2.02 sprint cum 39.32 miles
Yesterday's run I managed to pull a muscle in the middle of my back somehow so I wasn't sure how it would be today. Ran 3 pretty slow this morning with no expectation of speed or distance. It did not seem worse so I did my 2 per sprint workout. It continues to amaze me what strange and out of the blue things our bodies like to throw at us.
MFP on my phone just seems to get worse and worse. Tech support emailed that it was going to be fixed (IOS thing) but whatever they did now I can't seem to even USE the ap at all much less see photos.
Guess it's always darkest before dawn?
To end on a positive note, the cold front which blew in yesterday morning is making for very nice running humidity and temps even if a bit windy. Better than 96 deg f on Monday afternoon.4 -
4/1 – 5.41 miles
4/4 – 4.21 miles
4/5 – 5.37 miles
4/6 – 4.56 miles

Winter is back in my and @quilteryoyo’s area of the world. I headed out for a short run at 6:45 this morning and it was 34F. We are under a winter weather advisory for this evening and tomorrow with snow in the forecast. Come on Spring – look at the calendar! It was a beautiful morning though and I’m glad I got out. The clouds are already filling the sky.Hope your back is feeling better today @summerskier
The sun was making it's way up this morning
Welcome back @simcon1!

What a gorgeous sky, @Teresa502!
It hit 76 degrees here yesterday so I had a lovely, sunny, summery run. But I think the 10K tomorrow morning is supposed to be in the high 30s with showers. And there’s a winter storm in the mountains that ends tomorrow morning, so we may try to squeeze some late-season snowboarding in this weekend. Spring!

I have no idea how many miles I'll run in April - whatever my coach my has me run! But I'm always in for some extra accountability!3
-
I was supposed to do 3 miles today but I determined sleep was more important. 😴 😆
Tomorrow is supposed to be high 90s so I'll try to get out early for my 5 miles.4 -
2.4: 3.0km in 25 min
8.4: 4.2km in 34 min
Was away on a short vacation where I walked a lot. Back to running. I hope to run 5km this weekend for a stupid garmin watch badge Running still didn't go well. Still not possible with slow breathing. And I seem to have a foot problem; either tight muscles or a strain at a really odd place. Running still kind of worked, but afterwards I limped home.
Meh of the day: It's not dark anymore when I got for a run I enjoy running in the dark.4 -
Morning all. Its a cool start to the day today down here 7C or 44F. I'm up early to RD Parkrun, then will be doing 5k at intended HM pace. I'm a little nervous for it because it's been a while since I've done this pace. Looking forward to the run though2
-
I've been reading and giving likes and hugs as appropriate, but no time for much commenting. Sorry. Welcome to all the knew folks and welcome back to those who have been away for a while.
@Teresa502 It was beautiful this morning, but after the wind picked up and it got cloudy, it was really cold. I'm glad you got your run in early.
Good luck with your race tomorrow @simcon1 . I hope the weather isn't too bad for you. I would much prefer 70 to 30, but that's just me.
@SwimBikeRun_Mom We are good at keeping you accountable....well, being interested in how things are going. No judgement here, just lots and lots of support.
@Avidkeo Looking forward to hearing about your race and time away with your mom.
@shanaber Love the pictures of Hobbes and Beaux. So fun for Hobbes to have a playmate.
@SummerSkier I hope your back is feeling better.

I had hoped to run more this week, but life circumstances got in the way. I did at least keep up my walking streak and was glad that I didn't have to go into work until 11 on Wed and Thursday so I could get my walk in before hand.
My close neighbor passed away on Sunday. His visitation was last night. I wound up staying a lot longer than I meant to so that I could be with his daughter, who was up from FL. She isn't close with her step-mom or aunt, so was feeling alone. Then, when I got home, I spent almost 2 hours getting the phone company to set up a service ticket for mom's phone, which was out again. After doing a few more things, it was almost 1 am before I got to bed. I had the alarm set for 5 because I needed to be at work at 7:30. I only worked 2 hours and then was able to leave, and not go back, so I could come home, change clothes, and pick up mom to go to the graveside service for my neighbor. It was cool when we left home, but the wind picked up while at the graveyard and everyone was freezing. Still, I was glad we went. When I got home, I was really tired. After eating a big sandwich and some chips and dip, I sat/laid on the couch most of the afternoon. I had just changed into my pajamas when I got home since I knew I wasn't going to do anything heavy. When I got up, I decided to do a mile on the treadmill - in my PJs. That's a first, but at least I got it done. LOL I hope I get more/better sleep tonight.

Will catch up on posts in a bit but saw this in a running group post on FB and had to share. As a true math nerd, I love Fibonacci but I had never made this correlation! I love it!!
The Fibonacci sequence can help you quickly convert between miles and kilometers. The Fibonacci sequence is a series of numbers where every new number is the sum of the two previous ones in the series.
1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, etc.
The next number would be 13 + 21 = 34.
Here's the thing: 3 mi = 5 km. 5 mi = 8 km. 8 mi = 13 km. 13 mi = 21 km, and so on.
This works because the Fibonacci sequence increases following the golden ratio (1:1.618). The ratio between miles and km is 1:1.609, or very, very close to the golden ratio. Hence, the Fibonacci sequence provides very good approximations when converting between km and miles.8 -
@quilteryoyo sorry about your neighbor. That was very kind of you to console his daughter for so long.
@simcon1 good luck on your race tomorrow. Hope the weather isn't as bad as forecasted.
@shanaber looks like Hobbs and Beaux are becoming good friends!
@yirara sorry about your foot and running not being so fun right now. Hope it gets better soon.
7 miles this afternoon. So f'n windy outside I was happy to do another PT session on the treadmill. Not gonna lie...the thought of running outside this weekend scares me a little. Probably will not run very long. Build up my tolerance for cement again slowly.
