My name is Donna. I am 62 years old and I live in the Midwest of the US. I am 5β 5β tall.
Start Weight (from end of April, 2022 ): 203.2
Goal Weight: 198.2 (5 pound loss)
End of Challenge Weight: xxxxx
Ultimate Goal Weight: 145-155 (Iβll know it when I get there!)
May 01β¦..β¦..204.6 (Trend Weight: 202.5)β¦.. Wrong way!
May 03β¦..β¦..203.8(Trend Weight: 202.8)β¦.. Progress is good. I can do better. Lighter on the scale but my body feels heavier and bogged down. I have a lβ¦oβ¦nβ¦g way to go.
May 10β¦..β¦..203.2(Trend Weight: 202.5)β¦.. My 62nd Birthday! Not a very nice present on the scale this morning. Pretty good dietary choices yesterday which kept it under 1600 (my normal is under 1400). Moderate exercise. I had a big bump down, now a big jump right back up. I donβt always understand how this works for me but I do know that TMI is likely part of this equation today. Dinner out tonight with a friend and at a later time with my oldest daughter (maybe next week?)
May 17β¦..β¦..204.2(Trend Weight: 203.2)β¦.. So much travel this past week, and birthday celebrations. Got to turn this train around and try to get life back to normal soon!
May 24β¦..β¦..204.4(Trend Weight: 203.2)β¦.. My son and I were out of town for dental cleanings yesterday. A problem area in the gums is now turning into a root canal. I go back in June. Dinner was out so I am surprised to see a drop on the scale. Weβll see what the next few days hold. Today is a 3 hour appointment for my hair. Something new for me. Low-lights (instead of hi-lights). We are working around the previous cancer treatments and current cancer pill damages. We are also incorporating some gray throughout to match my roots. Getting old is hell LOL. Because of the long time in the car and the dentist chair, I danced to 5 songs last night and I am proud of myself for that. I didnβt do them all at once due to the difficulty breathing with the heart issue, but I scattered them about half hour apart. I also took a small walk (5 minutes) when I got home on my cul-de-sac. Itβs the part of my street with the least amount of incline due to breathing. It felt so good. Iβm going to try to fit it in several times per day this summer.

This week I can really notice how my tummy is shrinking. When I wear tight jeans There is no longer a visible, hanging bulge of fat above hip-height.
One reason I feel I should try to stay at a lower weight for my health is that my waist measurement is high compared to my hips, right down to a pretty low weight. At my highest weight my waist is two dress sizes higher than my hips, which makes buying clothes that fit tricky in many styles. And apart from that, at a healthy weight my mum experienced health conditions that are normally associated with excess weight at a βhealthyβ weight, so I wonder if I have genetics against me too.
I think 60kg should be the very top end of the weight range I aim for in the long run, so the aim now is to create a buffer below it so that life events donβt take me above it too quickly.6 -

75 Year old 172cm Male. BMI = (kg/1.72^2)
May Start Weight: 114.9kg BMI = 38.84 Severely Obese
May Goal Weight: 105.0kg BMI = 35.49 Severely Obese
Ultimate Goal Weight: 73.9kg for BMI = 24.98 Normal (healthy) weight

May 22: 112.9 BMI = 38.16kg Severely Obese
May 29: 112.7 BMI = 37.76kg Severely Obese
May 31:
Current BMI = 37.76 Severely Obese. I hate my BMI description of Severely Obese. Previously when my BMI was 42.12, the Description was Very Severely (Morbidly) Obese.
There is no cartilage in both of my knees which is very painful when I walk. Life has become unbearable for me. My aim is to go for knee replacement operations.
However the surgeon will not operate if I weigh more than 100kg.
I have lost 12.9kg in the 59 days since I started again on March 31st 2022 with the program.
This means I still have 11.7kg to lose until I reach 100kg
If I can get down to 80kg BMI = 27.04 Overweight, then maybe I will not need the operations!5 -

Well its the last day of the month. I haven't felt much like myself or maintained tracking my weight the last few weeks as I have been fighting off Covid. But I'm surprised and happy to say despite not being as active I met my May goal. Probably mostly due to the fact that I have been eating nothing but chicken soup for almost two weeks. But I'll take it
