Good morning ladies!
Lisa glad that dental day is over! Hope your headaches get better.
Heather We are all so proud of you and your writing! You have achieved so much! Hope your back improves.
Kylia, Barbie and Katla, hope your DHs get good news about their ailments!
I had a good but busy day yesterday, winding up with my dumbbell routine. I skipped two things out of forty-some because my knee was sore from horseback riding. I'm not sure about yoga and fast marching this morning, but my instinct is to press on. It gives me twinges on the stairs but is quiet most of the time. I just don't have the patience for rehab!
Today's agenda is rather empty for me, so I will clean my desk a bit. I haven't used my filing system in so long I forget how it works. Too many piles of mail hiding important papers.
My mom is doing a little better with the sunshine and the B12. Yay! I am rethinking whether I can be away for a bit. I might get to the beach this summer yet!

Katie, thinking of you as you care for your dad. Such a kind and loving thing to do, and it can be so frustrating!

Yep Carol, still working hard every day for the good old Lakeville Area Public Schools. Thank you for your THIRTY YEARS!!! WOAH! God Bless y'all!
Hard to believe I've been doing this for going on 25 this year. smh. Started out as an ASD paraprofessional, added medical assistance billing under my hat 12 years ago, then switched to full-time MA about 6 years ago.
Only three things I've done longer than education. Live, marriage, and mom-ing. I'm just grateful that I was able to drop into this position that allowed me to work from home once CV hit. My knees would NOT allow me to para anymore! Hopefully, I'm going to live out my remaining 4-ish years from my dining room table, looking out my back door, while raking in the moola for the district. I sorta love to be able to say that I am the only employee who actually pays for their own position, while bringing in additional funds for the district.
OMG!!! Machka, your meme is spot on! The other side of that is how others see it too.
Mary, I am SO GLAD you found someplace to stay! And isn't it nice to have someone say that they found you to be a good fit too. I didn't know you were a teacher too? I just love all my edu-pros! We have a wonderful lot here in Lakeville. I've been very Blessed.
OH MAN, Lisa! That's wonderful... in a weird way. Wouldn't that be great if you found out that the tooth was (at least one) of the reasons for your headaches?!? I don't know about box breathing, but I think I've mentioned it here before, my mom was FAR ahead of her time and taught all us kids about transcendental meditation and deep breathing was a huge part of that. She always taught us breath "IN" and "OUT". Very simply, thinking the words "IN" and "OUT" as you were breathing so it took everything else out of your brain. It looks very similar. Interesting thing. That book that was all the rage, back in 1997 Don't Sweat the Small Stuff (and it's all small stuff), had a chapter on this and used this exact method.
So, it's raining again in MN, but it's still lovely in my backyard. Beautiful green and so lush that I almost can't see the neighbors anymore!

Son came over today and got a stuck on hose unhooked from the faucet outside and is cutting down dead branches from my Rose of Sharon tree/bushes that are dead and hanging on the ground. I am feeling blessed!

Ah, serendipity - it's funny what you end up grateful for... I checked with my dental plan online, and they will reimburse me for half the root canal price, so I will end up paying a bit more for the procedure, but much less than I expected.
Later,
Love,

I did Yoga for Sensitive Knees and a Walk a mile cardio. Yay! I held two pound weights but didn't swing them around much. That will come as I get more coordinated. I will, right? At least I broke a good sweat. Yay!3

Well our Covid Rate is 14 % here in Connecticut so im wearing a mask at the wake tonight ..im not messing with that..
Little boy is still sleeping in my lap, lordy he is heavy..6 -
Mary--Sounds like it is working out for the place to stay.
Lisa--Glad your dentist is over and it will not cost as much as you expected. Good news on both points.
I am so HAPPY it is Friday. I have felt just off all week. So much to get done and no engery. Tomorrow I am to talk about my story at women's group at church. Still trying to figure out how I got talked into this and not sure what I am going to say. Have a great weekend.

Dental work I’ve been told I need 4 crowns for the last 10 years. Refuse to get them. I have a partial upper plate that started with 4 teeth when I was 18 and now have 6. I’m perfectly comfortable with this and feel that if my teeth or tooth gets bad enough, I’ll just have it pulled for $500 which I Surabaya all of and added to my plate. Much more long lasting and cost effective. I had them compare cost of 4 crowns versus 4 pulls and addition to plate. Something like $2000 versus $100 with my insurance. Just my opinion and situation. Having had a plate so long leads me to go this route. I had 2 crowns once and the teeth that was left under it rotted and had to be pulled anyway.

I found the late fees at the library a pain too. We have a local thrift store that sell paperback books for 50 cents an inch. They stack the books you are buying and measure. I have been buying from there and then donating them again or I will send them to my Mom if I think they are ones she would enjoy.
Hardcovers are 1.00 each.
Allie - did you mention the teething necklaces to Tracy. I swear they made a huge difference with my grandchildren.
Rita - Great pictures.
Illnesses are work - this is the first place I have ever been told to stay home if I’m sick, even before Covid. I was always firmly “encouraged” to go to work. This is also the first place that has sick time available so I could afford to stay home.
Pip - I’m so sorry, I would be devastated too. I hope you are able to look forward to the next trip and that you feel better soon.
Kelly - he sure is happy. My granddaughter had to have the tongue tie procedure done. It didn’t affect her a whole lot.
Barbara and Barbie - I really enjoy cleaning when I’m alone. I only do it so things done look insanely messy when Rodger is home.
I have been planning some rearranging projects in my mind. I want a sectional couch so need to save up for that first. I think this weekend I may put some yard decorations out.
Lisa - we need to look at dentures for Rodger. I think he will feel better having them. I need to convince him first that he is worth the money they will cost.
That’s way too long in a dentist chair. I am petrified of them.
Machka - I am the same way with breakfast. The only thing I have in the morning is coffee. I eat lunch around 1-2 weekdays and usually on the weekends too, sometimes I don’t eat at all on the weekends.
We are wearing masks at work, medical facilities and public transport. I mentioned to DH the other night while watching the streets after the hockey win that you wouldn’t think Covid was still a thing. There wasn’t a mask in sight. I don’t think they even track our numbers anymore and few people can get tested.
Katla - isn’t when DH isn’t feeling well a day he should be seen? Hope he feels better soon and gets in for his checkup.
Michele - groceries everywhere are getting more expensive. I paid 7.00 for 4l of milk last night. That’s close to a gallon I believe.
Kay - sorry your Dad is being a difficult patient, that doesn’t make it any easier for anyone.
Barbara - my heart filled when you wrote that Joe brought home a puzzle. What a great thing.
Heather - what should I look for to know where to have a book made. I have tried a printing company here, but they only do coil. I have searched book binding but wasn’t successful. Is there a specific word I should be using? I want to see what I should be looking at for format before I start my work.
Vicki- my friend told her story at church a few months ago. She sent me the online video. She talked about how being taken to church with my family saved her from her turbulent home life. We have been friends since grade 2. She was actually the last “family” that saw my Dad alive. He had encouraged all of us to go home from the hospital. At 2 am she couldn’t sleep and drive back to the hospital to see him. She stayed for two hours praying, reading scriptures and singing hymns to him. He passed at 6am. He didn’t want anyone around because he even had the nurse leave the room.
I am off today and don’t go back to work until Tuesday. I needed the break.
Tomorrow I am going out for lunch with a coworker and my old supervisor.
I think I may go bring the grandkids out on Sunday.
It’s been too long since I’ve seen them.
I should go do something, it’s taken me 2.5 hours to catch up this morning.

Carla out!
Haha- I am just the opposite- I have done education(taught preschool and have done licensed daycare for just over 40 yrs, married(this time)30yrs this Sept. and mom for just 24 yrs. - have lived longer than the rest though
Loving the features on my Fitbit but it is a bit off on my sleeping pattern this morning. I was up at 8:15 but the graph shows I woke up at 9:35 this morning( guess I am typing in my sleep)
Most of the time it is close- does register that I am asleep when I am just laying down resting. I like seeing how much of each type of sleep they say I am getting. Deep sleep is very rare for me I guess.
Also like the note to get moving every hour.
Still figuring it out but it is so much better than the generic tracker I was using.
Got up this morning and get a text from the daycare mom. She forgot to tell me that her dad is picking the girl up from school today so I am off. Nice surprise but would have been even nicer if I knew on Wed. as I am off on Thursday- Four day weekend for me.
Going to go dead head my roses before it gets too warm, as soon as I finish my tea.

Vicki — TGIF!!! Have a good weekend.
Rita — Both of my parents had dentures. They went to a denturist when they needed to be repaired or replaced. The denturist was a family friend. I hope things work out well for you.
Tracey in Edmonton — DH is resting this morning. I am happy that he is getting needed sleep. He has an appointment scheduled with his doctor.
My morning began with a telephone call from a neighbor who lives in a nearby floating home. He noticed that a fishing boat was sinking at the dock in our marina. I called one of our neighbors with the information. Both of us walked down the dock and saw the sinking boat. The owner of the boat was notified.

Tracey - I have always used Amazon, KDP . They talk you through the steps, but there is quite a lot to get to know first. It's all there, but a lot of reading. It's free if you DIY. I am always terrified, but it works out alright in the end! Remember to start your first reading page on an odd number. I start the actual text on page 5.
I am the least technical person in the world, so, if I can do it ............. Their new thing is hardback, which would be nice for your project. I might do that for my projected poetry book. Lisa also did it on KDP.
My books are available on my author page, Heather Eyles. Read the blurb carefully to see if it's for you. Trigger warning. There are also my old children's books on there. Mostly remaindered. My recent books are also on Kindle.
Back making progress. Slow progress, but going in the right direction.
Lamb Tagine was heaven. It's from the Hairy Bikers first diet book.
Love Heather UK xxxxxxxx

I'm going to get up and start cleaning as soon as the radio plays a reasonable song. Lol😊 Really the whole point of classic rock is to play songs I know, after listening to classic rock for fifty years!!2

Who else counts sweeping/mopping the floors as exercise? I do because it is like cleaning a bowling alley at my house. Also it is not just sweeping and mopping. I vacuum the entire upper floor then sweep the hard surfaces then mop. This takes me about 45 minutes to complete.
Oh, I also count changing the sheets because I have one of those adjustable king beds which has two xl twin beds so I have to put the heads all the way up then squeeze myself behind the bed to get the tops of the sheets in position then squeeze backout to do the foot of the beds. Once all the corners are in place I have to practically lift the bed to push in all the sides. Then I have to put the top sheet in place just right then the blanket not to mention the pillows, I have 5. I used to change my sheets every week but now with this bed I switched it to every two weeks unless we are super dirty or the dog gets in the bed.
I am exhausted from this all but it is so worth it to have it all clean.

I found a new faux ice cream with half the calories! Yay! It's nature's promise coconut milk mint chocolate chip at 160 calories per 2/3 cup serving. Now if I can only count coconut milk as a vegetable!

Im sitting at my uncles wake.. sheesh is it loud, not a ton of people but still loud..
Waiting until it dies down a bit to give my cousin her things..and then will go home..4 -
Rita there is new technology for root canals involving lazers that is more effective at removing decay and saving the tooth. Not all dentist do this and it is not done in the canine world. So a dog with a bad tooth it is best just to pull it. This was discussed at the dog detox summit.0

Tracey in Edmonton— DH has been seen by healthcare providers at our home. Today the person was Steve and he did a great job for DH. Health professionals have visited DH at home, usually about 3 days a week. We are very pleased by their skills, kindness & care.
Sue in Missouri — I like long walks in the neighborhood on pleasant days. I haven’t been able to go to yoga classes, though. I miss them.
Allie — So sorry for the loss of your uncle.
Earlier today I got a phone call from a neighbor who told me that a boat was sinking in our marina. I called a good friend who went right down and got things stabilized.
Just now Greg C gave us a salmon fillet for dinner. It was generous for him to bring a fresh caught fish. Greg is a long time friend who lives in a floating home down the road.
DH is sleeping. He’ll be pleased to know we have a nice salmon dinner. 😊

Been back home for an hour..so nice to see everyone. My cousin very touched that I brought the painting and photos.. and they had a tv with lots of pictures.. some with my brother and I in them.. yikes not at all flattering as a child ha ha ha.. but hopefully will get to spend more time with them after the service tomorrow...
It is supposed to be 98 degrees tomorrow ..yikes...6 -
Worked then the soup kitchen then home and into the pool. Ahh...it’s so nice to be back.
Realized that I need a new timer so went to Ollie’s where I got it before. They didn’t have any so I thought “well, Vince needs bananas anyway so I’ll try WalMart.” The only one they had was this teeny tiny one, there’s no way I’ll be able to see it without my glasses. So I thought “oh, the dollar store will have it”. Went to Dollar Tree. They only had this teeny one too. So thought “I’ll try Dollar General, hopefully they have something more substantial”. Nothing. So I came home, guess I’ll just use the one I have for a bit and keep looking.
I have to renew my license this year and want to get one of those enhanced ones
The guy was VERY late today making the delivery to BK. Jerry has to stay and put away things that they ordered. I was finished all my prep by around 9:45. I don’t mind taking Jerry home if he’s finished, but I have no desire to sit around for maybe a half an hour doing nothing so that I can take him home.
I know Jerry wanted me to wait for him. Not going to happen! I was able to get home, get dinner prepared, yogurt in the IP, then went to the post office to mail a card to Denise (even tho we’ll see her about a week later. She’s so materialistic that she’ll want her card on her birthday. The first year she was a mother, I sent a shirt for PJ along with her card. She mentioned how PJ gets something, I just said “welcome to motherhood”. So now every year I send something small for PJ
Previously, when we were up in DE, Denise gave us the excuse “I don’t know how to take the car seat out of my car”. This year since we’re coming up and staying in a hotel with a swimming pool that PJ can use, she seemed to be more willing to take the car seat out of her car for us to us. What can I say?
Allie – so sorry about the loss of your uncle

Carla I love Lakeville, very pretty area! My sister and niece live there. We're going to help my other sister move to Faribault next week. That's a nice area as well. We even looked for RV resort all around that area and everything was booked!
Vicki I love hearing God stories 💞 what a great opportunity to touch others!
We're still working hard and hopefully get most of it done by Sunday night. We have a little time Monday morning to get a little more done.
Have a great night everyone!
