Hi friends! I am new here and very excited and impressed with this tool thus far. My main reason for joining is motivation to improve overall health and nutrition. I am a vegetarian and find when I am lazy and unfocused, I do not eat adequate protein. I want to maintain my weight and moderate activity level (yoga, hiking, swimming and pickleball) through my senior years. I am currently 62 and recently retired. Thank you!

    Hi, and welcome!

I'm an old-timer here (almost 7 years) and in the world (66 y/o), have been vegetarian for 47+ years.

Have you checked out the Happy Herbivores group here? It's only lightly active, but there is some current activity, and it's focused on vegetarian/vegan topics. Direct link:

I lost weight (on purpose!) and that was why I joined MFP, but I've been maintaining for 6+ years, still using MFP. One of the things I like is that I'm able to be more intentional about nutrition, not just protein, but across the board. Since I've spent quite a bit of time tweaking/refining my eating patterns, I don't have problems with protein - am actually more likely to fall a bit short on fats, if I don't pay attention. (That's not a problem most people have, it seems!)

I hope you'll find MFP a useful tool, and a useful Community, for accomplishing your goals!
