@deepwoodslady I love my Renpho scale, it connects to an app on my phone that also links directly to MFP so I don't have to do anything more than open the app and step on the scale! They're pretty cheap, too, I think I paid A$30 on Amazon.

I absolutely love my Renpho scale. One of my friends had bought a very expensive scale wished she would have bought the Renpho scale instead. I showed her all the functionality of the Renpho app/usability-tracking etc.. She was impressed.

GREAT PURCHASE! I love my Renpho scale!

    07/14-197.4-(Trend Weight 200.5)-

07/15-198.2-(Trend Weight 200.3)- Okay, what’s going on??? Scale did not seem wonky today. Is it the healing from Covid? Still testing with one solid line and one very faint line. Feeling so much better! I have been CONSISTENLY a perfect dieter (lately). Hitting macros perfectly. Staying under on calorie and carbs. Glucose has really improved over this past week of following the eating plan. I’ve even increased the exercise after feeling better (and not having handymen here all day). Last night I danced to 5 songs (23 minutes) last night! The only other thing I can think of is that I’ve been trying to do some fasting overnight/morning and it’s pushing my meals out much later than usual. Dinner has been really late the last few nights. I’ll try to readjust it all and see what happens. I am still a bit worried about my scale, it was crazy yesterday and I don’t think I got the same reading twice. However, today, it seemed back to normal. I will keep watching that too. Handymen will be back today, but I’ll still try to fit in some movement. Of course, I will wear my continue wearing my mask during any direct contact for a few more days. My trend weight is still going down, I’ll take it!

07/16-198.8-(Trend Weight 200.1)- This is getting scary. Another huge jump up on the scale. Again, I stayed under calorie, under carb, met my macros wonderfully. I fit in 50 minutes of walking including inclines in two sets and I did some gardening and plant transplanting. I continued to log every bite. The only negative is that dinner was very late (after 11:00 pm) due to an unexpected phone call from an old friend in Tennessee. Scale was consistent with several weigh-ins. I don’t get it. I understand I am healing from Covid. I guess my weight drops were due to sickness, even though my appetite was fine and I at all my calories and carbs then too, even in the worst of the illness. Interestingly, my fat percentage has been staying the exact same and my trend weight continues to go down, even after several days of “gains”. Hmmm…..

07/17-DNW-(Trend Weight DNW)- I couldn’t bare to see another unwarranted gain today and it’s there, I can feel it. Taking a day off the scale and hoping it will turn around. Sticking to the plan.

07/18-200.8-(Trend Weight 200.2)- WTH? Goodbye Onederland! I was under calorie and carb again yesterday. A very high calorie burn for the day. Macros were good but sodium showed a little high due to a frozen dinner. I have not eaten back any caiories. Feeling pretty good. Still a bit of a cough but testing negative finally for the Covid virus. I still don’t get it. Especially since the gains have been higher than the original whoosh after testing positive for Covid. I’m really starting to feel sorry for myself here. This is not a plateau, it’s a steady gain for no apparent reason. I’m really starting to feel sorry for myself and that usually does not lead me to a very good place.

@deepwoodslady I know it's really easy to get caught up in the daily movement on the scale, but there really is so much more that goes into each day's weight than just how much/what you ate the day before! Calorie deficits take time to show up on the scale as fat loss...we retain and lose water weight for a million different reasons that don't always make sense at the time...our hormones fluctuate throughout the month which also has a huge impact...there are loads of reasons! The important thing to remember is that you have NOT eaten enough to gain 2 lbs of FAT in 2 days! That would mean eating at a surplus of 7000 calories over those two days - pretty sure you haven't done that! Which means that it's other factors at play, you haven't gained fat.
Also, a reminder to look at your trend weight this month - you've dropped from 203 to 200.2, which is 2.8 lbs lost in less than 3 weeks. I think that's pretty impressive in anybody's book!

@TwistedSassette Thanks so much for the pep talk, it could not have come at a better time. I definitely am not used to doing so well this many days in a row and having a steady gain each and every day. I have seen it in so many others tho so I guess it's my turn lol. But you are right. I have eaten under 1400 calories and under my carbs every single day so something has got to give at some point. I'll wait for the whoosh. Don't worry, sometimes I give in (to cravings or social foody events), but I never give up! Thanks again for riding along with me on this crazy journey! You did make me feel much better.

    Current weight (Jul 1): 163.4

    Daily Focus:
🌼 stay in maintenance range (160-165)

July 1 - 163.4 (Happy Canada Day! Work gave us a four day weekend. My husband and I came up to the lake last night. Sun is shining!)
July 2 - 162 (We got a 60 minute walk in yesterday in the heat and had a few drinks to celebrate Canada Day. Night was cut short as we had a huge thunderstorm and the Internet was so bad inside because everyone was in their trailers so we went to bed early and had a great restorative sleep.)
July 3 - 165.2 (Up early and back home as we have a 75th birthday brunch to attend. Later today we also have dinner out with friends.)
July 4 - 164 (Happy 4th of July to all the Americans! Our work gave us a four day weekend for Canada Day so I was still off today. I did two Peloton rides and a 5 mile walk and food stop with my husband and dog... so much fun but I am wiped. Need to do some housework now.)
July 5 - 164 (Busy work day but I got away at lunch for a walk with my husband. After supper and some TV we went out for another walk with our dog. Lots of steps again today.)
July 6 - 164.6 (Didn't sleep as long as I wanted. Started with a good filling breakfast. Will get my 10K steps today and hopefully ride the Peloton too.)
July 7 - 164.4 (Had my long ride on the Peloton last night. Today I hope to get back on the bike but I also need to finish getting my house ready for my company tomorrow.)
July 8 - 163.4 (Started my day with the Stampede Parade and a breakfast. The sun is shining and our city has come alive. I worked this afternoon and tonight we are laying low because my husband is in a 160 KM Gran Fondo bike race tomorrow that we're up early for.)
July 9 - 163 (Up early as my husband is in a Gran Fondo bike race today. I am hanging out in beautiful Longview, Alberta waiting for him. Will try to walk and get some steps while I wait.)
July 10 - 161.2 (Today I want to do two Peloton rides, get a walk in, and then we go out for supper in downtown Calgary with friends.)
July 11 - 160.8 (Amazing dinner out last night at the top rated new restaurant in Canada according to a recently issued list. I had gotten a lot of of exercise and planned for it so the scale was kind to me this morning. This afternoon I have a party at a corporate tent for Stampede and then we go to the grounds for a concert. Will be a late night and my exercise will all be getting my steps.)
July 12 - 161.8 (Busy day to navigate yesterday. Worked from the office, went to a tent party for Stampede at 3, and then we went to the grounds for a concert. Didn't get home and in bed until midnight. Had one food choice I made for a cost savings reason than my waistline - you live you learn.)
July 13 - 161.2 (Kept indulgences to a minimum at my work party yesterday so I was in good shape to come home and ride the Peloton.)
July 14 - 160.8 (A work lunch, corporate tent, Peloton ride, and long walk with my husband were all highlights of the day.)
    July 15 - 162.8
July 16 - 166.4 (Didn't get time to check in yesterday.. it was midnight before I got home and I was exhausted. Had my final workday corporate event and then we met up with a friend at the Stampede grounds for two concerts. Another day of over 20,000 steps.)
July 17 - DNW (I always bring my scale to the lake but I forgot. Yesterday we went for a nice long walk around our park and met my 10,000 step goal.)
July 18 - 163.8 (Saw Elvis after work tonight. We are off to Ontario tomorrow to visit Brad's family and have a summer break there.)

    Daily Focus:
    🌼 Weigh in each morning
🌼 Eat at or under my calorie goal
    🌼 Log honestly and consistently
🌼Post each morning under this challenge

    Stretch Goals:

🌱Start my day with a 10 minute dog walk or 10 minute dance workout
🌱Plan & prep meals and log in advance
🌱Get 30 minutes of exercise or close my Apple Watch activity ring each day

July 1…218.1. Happy Friday and Happy July 1st! I love the beginning of a new month and the opportunity of a fresh start. I’ve packed my lunch and healthy snacks and even pre-logged for the day. Enjoy your holiday weekend!

July 2…219.7… yep, I knew yesterday’s weight was a gift. Logging is feeling better. It’s my accountability time. Reminder that I just have to watch portions and eat more veggies.
    Happy Saturday 🥰

July 10…219.9…Restart day! I’ve Prelogged my meals and I’m ready to take back my health! Todays goal is to stay at or under calories. Back to baby steps.
    Happy Sunday!

July 11… 220.9…even though the scale is up, I’m getting back to better habits… not perfection but progress. Time to log for the day!

July 12…220.6…today is day 3 of pre logging. Still not yet eating at my calorie goals, but I will! Right now it’s just getting back to healthier habits… more veggies and less fast food. Tonight I’m going to see Train in concert… I’m so excited!!

July 13…220.6…went to the doctor today because my mini migraines are getting more frequent. He ran some blood tests and said that I’m anemic and need more iron, vitamin D and B12. He also reiterated that I need to get back to eating more veggies, fruits, and lean meats. This is the kick in the pants that I needed to get back to moving 30 minutes each day and back to food prep.

July 14…220.6 getting healthier groceries today… and cutting the grass. It’s absolutely beautiful this morning, so it’s time to get things going. Have a terrific Thursday!

    July 15
July 16… 222.8… 🫠 So frustrated with myself!!! Today my goals are to log and stay within my calories. Small changes for better health. 🥗 for lunch… cucumber snack. Why do I fight it so hard? I’m worth feeling better about myself! Time to do it and stop the self sabotage! 10 minutes of fun dancing with Gina B on UTube to kick off my day. 💃🏻 Have a Happy and Healthy Saturday. Today is my day 1! I am not a quitter! Thanks for listening. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

July 17…220.3 Yes!!! Logged everything today, but went over calories late last night. Progress not perfection. Got in an 18 minute walking workout. 👍

July 18…220….🥰… I love to see the scale going down. Each day is a new opportunity toward a healthier you. ❤️ Happy Monday!

July 19…221… got a mini migraine yesterday at work. This is my 5th one in 3 weeks. So I now have an MRI scheduled for July 29th… just to rule out other things. I think it’s hormone related mostly… but who knows for sure. My snack monster was on the loose yesterday.

07/19-200.6-(Trend Weight 200.3)- The scale is finally leveling off. There is even a small 0.2 drop today. Maybe it will turn completely back around and wander back into Onederland. I took a long walk of over 30 minutes in my neighborhood with my son last night. The hardest part was my own driveway and my own street due to th4 steep inclines. The rest of it was broken up between hills, inclines and flat areas. Just random enough to make it possible for me. I don’t think my son was too thrilled but I know he is trying to help me keep my heart strong. He took it all more seriously when he saw me on the heart monitor at home with all the wires. Truthfully though, he needs the movement as much or more than me. He is 5’ 6” and weighs about 306 pounds. His BMI is over 50. He is 26 years old but his autism keeps him from fully understanding the gravity of his situation. I hope to get him out even more. Also, to get him dancing with me again! My blood pressure ran low all day yesterday. About 98/52 most of the day and evening. This morning running about the same again. I have no idea if I should be taking the BP meds when it runs this low. Anyone happen to know anything about that? I’ll also google what I can.

My name is Donna. I am 5’ 5” tall, 62 years old and from the Midwest USA. In 2016 I weighed 253 lbs. I am on a journey of health and to get back to the real me.
Every healthy habit brings me closer to scratching each of these off to NEVER see them again!

07/20-199.8-(Trend Weight 200.2)- Still not doing anything any differently but it’s finally turning back around. In fact, no water pill yesterday, no TMI x 2 today and a little less exercise/movement yesterday, but here I am, dipping into the Onederland pool again. People are slowly starting to re-enter my daily life. Gotta stay the course here!
