7/6 229.0 A bit out of control this weekend. I broke my cardinal rule and didn’t log everything I ate and drank for three days. Especially drank. Lots of get-togethers with friends that took me out of my comfort zone. Now to get back on track, effective immediately.
7/7 227.8 Glad to see the scale start moving back down. Had a good day yesterday and hoping for a great day today even though I’m not feeling so hot physically. Meals are planned and logged; lots of leftovers from the weekend but we’ll eat them in a sensible way. Welcome to all the new members (and welcome back to the returners) - I hope you find this group as supportive and helpful as I have!!

7/6 - 136.8 – Today we are rounding up volunteers to trim part of the hiking trail. Not a lot of walking more bending and stooping.
7/7 – 136.4 – Yesterday I decided I need stronger legs so I can get off the ground more gracefully. I did 2 seta of squats. Sore legs today. Off for a walk today with a serious hill.

07/06 …..203.2 ….. (Trend weight 203.6) A great day yesterday on the diet front. Logged every calorie and made great choices. Closed all my circles on my fitbit which always makes me feel like a winner! Water pill yesterday puts me down almost 2 pounds. So this is my true weight without the water retention. Not happy with the number-Much more work to do. I got some stationary biking in but I did not get a walk in. However, my friend Amy and I (and her son Kyle) got the 5x10 Catio up. Now, to get the roof on and furnish/decorate it! Pebbles and Harriet are going to love it! I think they will prefer it over the leash.
07/07 …..202.0 ….. (Trend weight 203.4) No sleep last night. Feel horrible. No TMI day 2. I did have the water pill yesterday. Some weeks it ends up back to back because I take it every other day, so not today. Zapped of energy. I just want to lay on the couch but two handymen are coming. Cardiologist’s RN called yesterday and said I have 50% ejection fraction. Should be 60-75% so I am what they consider on the borderline for heart failure. That’s on the left ventricle issue. New issue showed up on the rest test. Lower part of my heart has scarring on two of the walls which indicates I’ve had a heart attack. We don’t know when. Good news is that blood is still flowing all around the bottom so no real bad damage at this point. Bad news is that over time the scarring will cause a stiffening that will make it hard for the heart to beat. July 12th is the appointment when we discuss treatment plans if any. Could be much better, could be much worse. All I know is that I absolutely cannot breathe when exerting myself.

This is my first entry.
I will soon be 66 yo, retired, widowed and struggling. Sometimes getting out of the house to participate in activities even with my children is hard.
My goal for today is to drink at least 100 oz of water and add exercise which I have been slack on. I am going to prepare some meals today so I can eat healthier.

7/7 164.4 / Today feels like a bit of the calm before the storm. Starting tomorrow, I have a lot of corporate events for the Calgary Stampede, and in less than two weeks we're on our way to Ontario to visit Brad's family. Oh, and my brother is coming tomorrow to stay for a while too! Lots to do. I did get my long ride in on the Peloton last night and will try to ride again tonight if I can fit it in.

7/6 101.2 Well that's a nice little drop! I did get my jillian michaels workout in and a 5km jog in yesterday. Also did some work on my allotment! Food was a bit over the 1800, I had an ice cream!!! But macros were fine, water was a bit low too! Bit more attention on what goes in my face tomorrow. I also seem to have hurt my right knee so might not workout today, well maybe just a cycle!
7/7 101.6 hmm... not impressed!!! But I did expect it as the drop was just due to a mild stomach bug. Didn't do my jm workout, just 19km cycle. Going to rest my knee again today, just a 5km jog to get in! Focus on the water again!

JULY focus:maintain weight < 140 (I have been maintaining since July 2019)I liked this so much I'm borrowing it.
Work on improving stamina, strength, flexibility, which may impact the scale
Every healthy habit brings me closer to scratching each of these off to NEVER see them again!

THERE ARE NO QUICK FIXES OR SHORTCUTS to achieving permanent change.
REMINDERS: One or two thoughts which might give heart to some of you.- Daily weight fluctuations are normal, and can be as much as 2 lbs a day for no apparent reason.
- A general downward trend is what we are looking for.
- Eating out can cause apparent weight gain because of high sodium levels, but usually goes quickly. Drinking extra water helps with this.
- The human body does not react instantly to what we do to it. Sometimes it can take several days to see results.
- Plateaus are a normal part of the process. The body is consolidating and adapting to your new way of eating/exercising.
- The closer you get to your goal weight, the more difficult it becomes to lose weight, as your body becomes more efficient at using what you feed it.
- When you exercise you build muscle, which takes up less space than fat, so use measurements as well as weight to assess your progress.
- Getting/Staying fit and healthy requires a lifestyle change for most people.

Hi everyone 👋 Susan here.
This is round 1 for me. I'm tired of getting in my own way. I don't know why, but I do. I've been on MFP since 2011 but hardly ever used the app. Hoping that joining a challenge or two will help keep me motivated.

7/6: 256.2 feel pretty good. I kept within my calorie goal the last two days.
7/7: 253.4 I don't know what happened but I'll take it. I'm just hoping 🙏 I can stay within my calories tonight also. Worried because I'm feeling hungrier than usual today 😕

7/6: 153.3 - it’s time to start thinking about eating in maintenance calories and upping my protein because I want to work on body recomposition. Maintenance calories scare me. Once I hit 151-152, I’ll be slowly upping my calories and watching what the scale does. Also, I’m excited to be back for my second round!
