We ALL have good rounds and bad but that is part of life. Don’t stay away, stay accountable. We don’t judge, we support.-Jpv,2/13/19
What we need to succeed is a sustainable way of eating, not a DIET we go on and off.
People say keto/LCHF isn’t sustainable. I’ve been doing it for almost 5 years with amazing results!
This is NOT A DIET. It’s a LIFESTYLE.

Day/Weight/Comment
8/25: 132.5 - Hmm, I seem to always start the rounds pretty well. Yesterday was a good day of workouts and good eating. Still need to work out getting to bed earlier.
8/26: 132.9 - A little bit of late night eating…
8/27: 134.0 - Yikes! We had nothing in the house to eat so we ended up getting falafel salad takeout. Got both my workouts in.
8/28: 132.9 - I don’t feel like I ate particularly well, but a lot of it was nibbles here and there. Got both my workouts in and slept in quiet late today.
8/29: 132.9 - Neighborhood block party/potluck that was well attended. Got to meet many of the new families that have moved in recently. Today will be prepping for a dinner party that we’re having tomorrow at our house. House is in good shape, so mainly figuring out what food I need to get ready for and what my refrigerator/freezer can actually hold!
8/30: 132.7 - I don’t feel like I deserve even this little/tiny drop on the scale since I ate a lot of junk yesterday. I had a couple of mishaps in the kitchen (I.e. had to remake a cake and even then screwed up the re-make) in preparation for having some friends over tonight. I should just throw the stuff out, but my husband doesn’t think it was that bad and is eating it. I had to balance prepping as much as I could with how much I could realistically fit into my refrigerator - it’s like jenga in there.
8/31: 134.7 - Double yikes! I haven’t tracked all my food for the last 4 days and it is showing on the scale. I”m getting lots of exercise, but you can’t out Jazzercise your fork. Last night was taco Tuesday with a side of enchiladas, margaritas and some wine tasting for a friend’s upcoming wedding. Oh, and the Tres Leches cake (the one I had to remake and still screwed up).
9/1: 133.2 - Still eating leftovers from the other night, but no cake. Saving the cake for a friend’s birthday on Friday. Oh, and no margaritas or wine. That helped.
9/2: 134.9 - Still eating leftovers - this time with cake and margaritas. Got two good workouts in yesterday.

09/01 -198.8- (Trend weight 199.8) A nice little drop without the water pill. I think it was from calorie burn. Had a problem with the garage freezer yesterday evening and I lost hundreds of dollars worth of food. I think it was related to when they were working on the electricity and I was unaware of the issue. Defrosted and re-organized now and I think all is well but keeping an open eye. Lots of mopping during defrosting. I burned a ton of calories and I did manage to save a lot of the food. Now, Dear God, just one question……can my trials stop already? I’m planning a good healthy eating day and waiting for my new exercise bike to arrive. I’ll be ready when I get the okay.
09/02 -198.8- (Trend weight 199.7) I made good choices yesterday but the quantities were a bit high. I am glad to see my weight stayed stable, my fat percentage went down and my trend weight continues to go down. Tomorrow is my daughter’s wedding. Hopefully even without that incentive to lose weight, I will still stay on track. My blood pressure continues to be too low and my glucose numbers are through the roof, even with the correct diet. And that is what is so concerning, when I know I have eaten all the “right” foods and my glucose numbers are not responding. The Endocrinologist is probably correct when he says I have become insulin resistant which means I will not respond to the normal oral medications for diabetes anymore. However, I don’t like him and I’m looking for another. So far, no other office within 2 hours of my house. I swear this doctor is at least 110 years old, practically needed help getting into the room, was a grouchy old man and won’t be around much longer anyway. Just being honest……
Okay, I’m off to paint my nails with French manicure. Wish me luck that I can finish them and get them dry before DGS needs too much.

8/25 - 161 - 21,400/143. Need a good sleep.
8/26 - 161.1 - 19,000/112. Surprise attack on the big city and the weather has turned cold ish. Hope to get lots of walking in and maybe some shopping. Dinner with my brother a couple times. I did well yesterday was hoping for a good scale read. Oh well I’m destined to get there!! Maybe I’ll use his scale but it’ll be after meals, coffees and possible treats & wine!
8/27 - DNW - 20,000/83. Found a scale for yesterday. Not a good sleep at all. Time to get up and find some coffee. Hope for lots of walking.
8/28 - DNW - 15,100/54 - Bought a size 8 Lulu pants and a size 6 Jacket. It's possible that I purchased the jacket because of that 6.
8/29 - 163.7 -15.600/50: Busy weekend got home at a good time and did laundry and a clean up. Didn't plan meals well and ate a small bowl of salt water taffy, just kept eating them. So had a higher calorie day then usual. A couple lbs up due to wine and more carbs then usual plus that taffy incident. Back on plan today and I am fine with this I will enjoy special times out and a cocktail here and there. I ... JUST ... HAVE ... TO .... REALIGN ... AFTER.
8/30 - 165.9 -10,700/65. No second walk. Super tired and had a lot of salty snacks, didn't track well assume calories were high. Just so tired, achy back muscles and eye allergies? Bloated SO is home so calorie intake will be off
8/31 - 167 - 10,100/62. Need to pull it together. Terrible eye allergies again ugghh. Last day of August wow
9/1 - 167 - 12,100/73. Had a nice evening beach picnic. SO heads off to work next week and I'll be more focused then, it's been hot here and I haven't been getting my 2nd walk in. September watch challenge is just to close my rings 26 times. Happy September everyone!!
9/2 - 165.5 -10,200/63. Eye problem made an appointment with eye doctor can't get in until next week. Not sure if it's allergies or something else. Not sure if allergy meds make it worse. Will be lucky to get my steps in today. Eyes really do not like the light. This happened early in the season as well so it makes me think it is allergies. Sorry haven't been reading posts, hope you are all doing well.

Here’s to a successful new round for all!
8/26 - 178
I had an appt with a new internist today. Went well, and I like her. My bp is up slightly, so I’m motivated now to lose some pounds in the next 4 months to lower it (among other reasons) before my follow-up-on-tests appointment.
8/27 - 179
Whaaa??? Ok, whatever. Salt maybe. I did have some ice cream, but my total calories were still below goal. Have a great Saturday!
8/28 - 178.2
Beautiful morning here, and I’m off for a walk with Rory, my pup. It’s soup day—I’ve made a different soup every Sunday since the start of the year—so I’m trying to figure out which new recipe to try today. Fun! Enjoy your day, all.
8/29 - 178.2
Soup last night was zucchini and corn chowder—I used creamed corn and cut WAY back on the half & half the recipe called for, making calories per serving less than 200. It was delicious. But I did overdo it with snacks later. I don’t know why I get into crazy binges of meaningless food. We don’t keep any junk food in the house, but even so, I can find calories to ingest. Luckily I’m doing it less frequently, so there’s that. Ok, off to teach my competition obedience class and train my pupper. Have a great Monday!
8/30 - 178
I’m feeling very disinclined to do anything useful today.
8/31 - 178
Had some ice cream last night. Not really worth the calories. Oh, well.
9/01 - 179
I’m not surprised, as I’ve been doing some emotional eating lately. Problems with my dog (not new—ongoing since I got him and getting worse despite training and socialization) so I’ve been calorie compensating, which has to stop. Otoh, I’m getting lots of exercise between training and gardening and walking…. I’ll try to clean up my act.
9/02 - 178.4
We’ll, I probably won’t break even this round, but I’m not beating myself up over it.

Day, Weight, Comment
8/25: 218.8
8/26: 219.3
8/27: 219.8
8/28: 215.7 … stepped on the scale three times, I can’t explain this number
8/29: 216.2 … knee is feeling much better. I was able to move a lot more, I was considerably more active.
8/30: 215.7 … mildly productive day. Made better choices yesterday. I’m up and on my way to the gym today with my daughter at 5:45. Hopefully setting the stage for a great day
8/31: 216.9 … over did it on homemade monkey bread and cheese it’s. Only drank 47 Oz of water & didn’t get enough steps in. I always notice a bump up in weight when I start back at the gym. Something about DOMS and lactic acidosis retention, blah blah. All I hear is monkey bread & cheez it’s.
Waiting for my daughter to get up for day two of our 6:00 am gym sesh. Today is going to be chest & tricep.
9/01: 218.0 … my daughter punked on the gym yesterday, I told myself I was going to go without her, but I failed. I drank plenty of water, stayed in my calorie range and fasting hours. I didn’t move enough though. Spent three hours at a doctors appointment for my daughter. I only got 4.5 hours sleep the last two nights and I was just grumpy yesterday. Dinner last night was SUPER salty (don’t know how that happened) so, I’m hoping the jump in weight is just water. I’m feeling some residual ickies in my mood from yesterday. I forgot what time my kid said we were going to the gym today, but I am up and ready. Going to have some caffeine and go wake her up
9/02: 216.6 … made it to the gym yesterday! I love the slight sore feeling I get the next day. Took today off, daughter had 6am cheer practice. One of these days, I’ll have the guys & motivation to go alone. Did not meet my step & water goal, but I hit my calorie & fasting window.

8/25 / 162.6 / Good day at work yesterday, ate lighter than normal so I had a larger supper. Made sure to get my 10,000 steps.
8/26 / 163
8/27 / 163.4 / After an exhausting week at work, I'm at the lake relaxing for the weekend. Husband and I had a lovely campfire last night. I am going to pressure wash the outside of our trailer today.
8/28 / 163.4 / Pressure washing the trailer and our outside deck and furniture got me almost 6K steps and then I took my dog for a walk. Husband made ribs for us and our neighbors for dinner so I had late breakfast and then saved up for that meal. It was tasty!
8/29 / 164 / Rode the Peloton after work and it felt really good after a crappy work day.
8/30 / 164.6 / Stayed downtown after work to have drinks with a couple of my friends. Supper was therefore quite simple. Walked my dog when I got home. Lots of change at work so just putting one foot in front of the other.
8/31 / 163.8 / I had a work lunch for a coworker who is retiring next week. Tonight my hubby wanted a take out and TV night and I indulged him in that. Feeling tired.
9/1 / 163 / I knew I had a busy workday so I got up before 5 a.m. to ride the Peloton. Glad I did because I worked late. Hoping to do the same tomorrow but instead of work we are hitting the road to drive 11 hours east for my Aunt's wedding!
9/2 / 163.8 / Got up at 5 for my long ride of the week on the Peloton (60 minutes) before hitting the road. Did the first 5 hours of driving or so across the Prairies and now my husband has taken over. We should be getting to our destination in time for a late supper!

THERE ARE NO QUICK FIXES OR SHORTCUTS to achieving permanent change.
REMINDERS: One or two thoughts which might give heart to some of you.- Daily weight fluctuations are normal, and can be as much as 2 lbs a day for no apparent reason.
- A general downward trend is what we are looking for.
- Eating out can cause apparent weight gain because of high sodium levels, but usually goes quickly. Drinking extra water helps with this.
- The human body does not react instantly to what we do to it. Sometimes it can take several days to see results.
- Plateaus are a normal part of the process. The body is consolidating and adapting to your new way of eating/exercising.
- The closer you get to your goal weight, the more difficult it becomes to lose weight, as your body becomes more efficient at using what you feed it.
- When you exercise you build muscle, which takes up less space than fat, so use measurements as well as weight to assess your progress.
- Getting/Staying fit and healthy requires a lifestyle change for most people.

HW: 304.4 When joined mfp on (08/16/22)
UGW: 190 (I'm 6" ft)
Day/Weight/Comment
8/25: 300 ⬆️ (+0.8 oz) I had some peanuts last night that were too salty. I believe this was the reason for the increase. Luckily, it's only a small one.
8/26: 302.2 ⬆️ (+2.2 lbs) This is definitely my fault!
8/27: 298.6 ⬇️ (-3.6 lbs) Finally lost what I gained and now I'm just below challenge start weight. I'm heading in the right direction now. 😀
8/28: DNW (Rest day)
8/29: 295 ⬇️ (-3.6 lbs) Part of this loss is probably water. (Daily calorie 1,600 and I eat most of those calories.)
Ate pretty healthy yesterday, and stayed under calories. Wasn't able to finish dinner last night, because it filled me up before I had done with the meal. Had a type of Mediterranean stir-fry (vegetables, beans, and eggs, with chicken breast strips, in a light creamy basil spinach pesto sauce- no rice or pasta.) It was good.
8/30: 295.8 ⬆️ (+.8 oz) I stayed under calories and ate pretty healthy. I know it will come off again like it has previously.
8/31: 295 ⬇️ (-8oz) Must have been a little water gain. 💦 🙂
9/1: 295.4 ⬆️ (+.4 oz) Weight wants to fluctuate on me.
I stayed within range and ate pretty healthy. But, didn't drink enough water.
9/2: 293.6 ⬇️ (-1.8 lbs) I really don't mind a minor up in my weight, when the next time I weigh it shows a loss. I reached and passed my goal weight for this round of (296 lb) by 3.4 lbs and so far I've lost a total of (-5.8 lb). I still would like to lose some weight by tomorrow morning; but, even if I don't and it just goes up a little bit, I'm going to be happy because I met my goal and I'm below what I wanted to be for this round. 😀 🎉
@quiltingjaine- I've not been feeling good since Sunday morning. I've had a migraine and nausea and I'm still not feeling good. I'm going to take a break until after the holiday and be back on Tuesday. Hopefully, with some rest and down time I'll feel better by Tuesday. Thanks

I have done this challenge before and it really helped keep me on track to healthy living. I have since gained most of that weight back (and then some) but I'm not discouraged. I am a 21-year old varsity college athlete who is just looking to lean up a bit - taking small goals at a time as weight-loss isn't my goal - just trying to lean myself into a healthier lifestyle.Round 146: -5.1lbs

Day/Weight/Comment
8/25: 189.4 - just can't seem to break 189...
8/26: 188.4 - wondering if I'm entering too large of a deficit to lose, finding it difficult as I burn around 1,000 calories during training camp a day to eat enough to even come close to a -250 cal deficit, it's always usually around -1000 cal
8/27: 187.6 - finally dipped back down to that number I saw in the last challenge... now the goal is to maintain it
8/28 - 187.2
8/29 - 187.6 - haven't posted but weighed - not bad considering I binged last night
8/30 - 188.0 - more binging last night and a rest day... seems to be particularly bad on rest days
8/31 - 188.0
9/1 - 187.0 - such an encouraging number. Yesterday was an excellent day. Ate out at lunch but stayed within my deficit, got hungry late at night and instead of making a big snack I just ate a small portion of food until I wasn't hungry anymore. Things are starting to look up I think.
9/2 - 187.8 - tomorrow is game day and then I will be binge drinking that night for the first time in a while so we'll see how that goes. It'll be a big calorie burn day but also large cal intake day so who knows?

8/29 - 152.5 - Celebrated my daughter's birthday yesterday with Mexican food and birthday cake.
8/30 - 150.5 - I'm hoping this sticks. I've been working really hard to get my 10,000 steps a day. Yesterday, I walked in place in my office while reading reports.
8/31 - 149.5
9/01 - 150.5 - I had a feeling yesterday's weight was too good to be true.
9/02 - 149 - The scale flashed between 148.5 and 149.5, so I'm taking the average. I have managed to hit 10,000 steps a day for the past week. I haven't changed my eating habits much, so I think the extra movement is helping to bring down my weight.
9/03 - 149 - I'm happy to end this round at this weight.

8/16: 172.2 not sure if this is from not drinking enough yesterday, or if it's because i've already eaten scrambled eggs and tomatoes
8/17: 172.2, 171.4, 171.2 take your pick. these are the options my scale gave me all within 1/2 hours time with no variable. do the spring scales do the same thing? ...back on topic....ate a maintain amount of calories yesterday, but it was high in carbs (ramen noodles). i did get to finally go for my walk! not as epic as the exclamation point implies. it was just a mile, but weight loss rate.
8/18: 171.2 good calories, good macros, and a good 2 mile walk
8/19: 171
8/20: 170.4 since i usually weigh myself before i eat, and i have already eaten today this weight is probably just more nonsense my scale is spitting out.
8/21: 171 over calories yesterday even with getting my walk in. seems like i do this at least once every challenge and always promise to correct myself.
8/22: 171.2 very disappointed with how i'm doing this round. reading my notes back, i should have been expecting such a poor result.
8/23: 172 i'm fine with this weight. i'm probably the same weight as yesterday. i usually weigh myself wearing my exercise (running shorts/shirt) clothes. today i'm wearing a t-shirt and and sweats which i'm sure weigh more. this will be my last post for this round. i will be taking off for almost a week. i'll be posting this in the new challenge, so i can find it easily upon my return. sure hope i can behave myself without having a scale to weigh food, or a scale to weigh myself.

8/29: 169.8 i'm super excited over this. i'm expecting it to go up again, because sat & sun were heavy carb. days.... but at least it looks like i can self monitor to not gain weight when the tools are not available.
8/30: 173.8 not exactly sure how deceitful that weight is. i have a dentist cleaning today, and am weighing in wearing my heavy bathrobe. i am expecting some weight gain from my heavy carb days also. oh well, i'll get it all figured out another day when i don't have morning appts.
8/31: 174.4 well now, all i can do is shake my head. i went shopping this morning, and gathered up some fruit and veggies. have already made myself a nice little kielbasa/green bean/ mushroom/potato/onion hash and portioned it out into 275 cal. portions. this weigh in is happening in the afternoon, so again.... not sure how deceitful the weight is. i know it's not far off (my short trip away, my friend made me cornbread.... i love cornbread) cornbread came home with me, i'm kinda in a hurry to get rid of it, so of course i'm eating it. can't waste a good cornbread. i did go for a walk this morning, so that's a plus.
9/1: 174.4 OK, now i know.... it's not a deceitful weight. it's my honest weight. it's looking like i most definitely CAN throw away good cornbread! calories were over by 130 yesterday, but that was prior to walking. getting back on track..... i really want to see the 160's!

9/3: 171.2 i have no idea what's going on with me or my scale!6 -

SW: 196.8
Goal this round: -3 lbs
8/25 - Did not weigh - My husband and I booked a trip to Disney and we will be leaving on Oct. 15!
8/26 - Did not weigh - Not fully committed, but realized I needed to start working towards a healthier weight.
8/27 - 196.8 - Let's do this! Committing to working out 3-4x a week & making healthier choices
8/28 - 195.2 - I had eaten a pretty heavy meal Friday (8/26) night so I’m sure that is why I dropped so much between yesterday and today!
8/29 - 195.4 - it is hard for me to make healthier choices. Plus I am sick so I’m not working out right now.
8/30 - 193.8
8/31 - 195.0 - this is why I don’t stick with anything 😞 I fluctuate like crazy!
9/1 - 196.0 - I did not eat healthy yesterday. I am going to try and focus on healthy eating today. Also, I will be drinking more water!
9/2 - 195.4 - I’m struggling keeping with it
@savvyrose88 you're doing great! don't get discouraged. take a look at the catastrophe i've been this round!
@quiltingjaine thank you for the encouragement. it's so appreciated!

9/3 - 187.4 - and a good end to this challenge!

Generally, show some semblance of discipline. Exercise more. Eat less.
Major Goal this round is to make even a little bit of progress toward my maintenance range.
Most Important….Resist mindless shoveling of food into my cake hole! This is a big one.

/mowed grass/ As you can see, I did NOT do a good job of maintaining. We found an ice cream shop near us that had non-dairy ice cream for DW. I may have had a snaccidental malt a time or two..

Only down a net 1.8 lbs but with my trip at the beginning of the challenge I was going to be happy if I maintained. I didn’t achieve any of my non-scale goals other than fasting most days, but I’m going to thank travel and covid for that. Today is our 6th wedding anniversary. It won’t be very festive since we are all still sick. Ah well, we’ll have a bunch more if all goes according to plan! See everyone next round!5 -
❤️Round 197❤️
August 25 - September 3, 2022
Please join us starting on 8/25 for JUST GIVE ME 10 DAYS, when we will begin Round 197!
Anyone can join us at anytime during the round.
Join us! If we stay mindful we can do this, you can do this.
Welcome back past members, welcome new members, let's keep each other accountable for another 10 days!
Here is what you do: Post your daily weight and add little comments along the way of how your day went. Post everyday to let us know how you're doing! Copy and paste the days in your response--tell us how much you lost and other non scale victories (NSV) you'd like to share.
FOR NEWBIES - I find it easiest to copy the dates to a document or note in my device and edit it each morning. Then copy and paste to the message board. MFP will return you to the spot on the board where you left off on your previous visit which is nice to know if you like to scan all of the posts.

09/01 -198.8- (Trend weight 199.8)
09/03 -199.0- (Trend weight 199.6) Normal fluctuation, no worries. Congrats to all the successes! See you all next round. DD’s Wedding Day!
Every healthy habit brings me closer to scratching each of these off to NEVER see them again!

9/03 - 179
Not unexpected. DH made taco casserole last night and I had ice cream again later. Gotta get the emotional comfort foods under control. Oh, well, onward.

@quiltingjaine- I've not been feeling good since Sunday morning. I've had a migraine and nausea and I'm still not feeling good. I'm going to take a break until after the holiday and be back on Tuesday. Hopefully, with some rest and down time I'll feel better by Tuesday.
Migraines are miserable. FEEL BETTER!

What we need to succeed is a sustainable way of eating, not a DIET we go on and off.
People say keto/LCHF isn’t sustainable. I’ve been doing it for almost 5 years with amazing results!
This is NOT A DIET. It’s a LIFESTYLE.
