I think you might be mis-remembering -
Fresh crisp green beans sautéed in olive oil with lots of garlic, sliced almonds, and a bit of salt. That’s how you eat green beans 😃
What no butter or bacon grease or crumbled bacon - eh - I’ll give yours a shot -
The bacon grease sounds delicious actually. I could cook it that way
It’s kinda Texas Roadhouse style and I do like their greenbeans.
That’s a real place? I have never been there
Oh it’s real. And my daughter wrote a paper on it. And I quote: “And on a birthday they put you on a saddle which is very fun.”
I don’t think this mentioned all the animal heads on the walls. Which, during a field trip there, we were told were fake because real ones would be cruel.
This is amazing
I especially liked the part about the free dessert "which is so very good".

I remember walking home from school in winter, it would be raining and cold. I actually liked it, I'd be wringing wet and shivering and go straight to the shower when I got home. That warm shower was the best. 😄6

Your eyes are limpid pools of desire and shopping lists1 -
I remember being with my Dad at the hospital during his final days. He was on large amounts of painkillers, hadn't moved or spoke a word for 4 straight days.
My uncle walked in to visit him...hadn't seen or spoken to him in years, but death will usually bring a family together.
We started reminiscing about my Dad's childhood. My Dad started flailing his arms and trying to sit up when he heard his brother's voice. We weren't exactly sure if he was upset or just wanted to be in on the conversation, but I'll never unsee that moment.
It was then I believed that your hearing is definitely the last thing to go. Talk to your loved ones, they hear you. ♥️7 -
I remember when I was a kid- my mom, sis, and I would enjoy an awesome thansgiving dinner and hen wuld get in the car and visit all my aunts.3

I remember howling at the moon every time I saw a full moon as a kid. Admittedly, I still do but it’s usually under my breath bc the world can’t know I am like this… a…. beast! Rawr uwu
Anyway, it’s toasty in here and I’m consuming toast
delectable
Respectable
I also remember eating carrots like a bunny and my siblings and I would race each other for who could nibble the fastest. 🤦🏻♀️ And of course the obligatory bugs bunny “what’s up doc?”
Space jam changed my life3 -
The Christmas lights & displays in Howard Beach1

I remember driving down a country road clear dark night when I spotted the moon being full and bigger than I had ever seen it before and it seemed to be a beckon asking me to follow it as it moved across the sky. I actually did just drive in it's direction for a while, keeping it pretty much as forward as roadways allowed. As I did, I wondered where I would end up if I just continued to drive that way until the moon set.1

I remember getting on the bus at the bus station downtown at midnight.
I remember the bus stopped at every tiny town along the way.
I remember sitting by myself in the Dallas bus station at 4:00am waiting for the bus to Houston.
I remember getting off the bus in Houston and seeing my boyfriend waiting for me.
I remember when his dad discovered I was there and called my parents.
I remember flying home.
I remember marrying that boy and having a son and now grandchildren.

Yes. When I was in Elementary school I read a book called cute is a four letter word and it was about a girl named Clara who decided to have year of the Clara and she became a cheerleader or something and then dated the Jock and she had a cousin named Halcyon who looked like a model on her day off2 -
My wife considers "snow" a 4-letter cuss word.5

I remember my grandfather keeping a batch of sourdough yeast alive in his fridge. Every time we'd visit, he'd make sourdough pancakes and sourdough grilled cheese sandwiches.2

I remember when my sourdough starter became too much of an obligation so I killed it3

I remember that Wednesday morning when everything felt so perfect in my world. I want more of those days.3

I remember my 7th grade crush, *Greg, telling my bff "he wouldn't touch me with a 10 foot pole."
I remember running into *Greg in a bar when I was 21, he bought me a drink and I declined. As I was leaving I stopped and asked him if he knew who I was, he said "No, should I?" I smiled and walked away.
*Name was not changed to protect privacy

I remember my dog dying when I was about 6 years old. We buried him in the back yard and I'd go sit with him every day. I'd bring him snacks, read him books, bring his favorite toys, and even bring a blanket when it was cold outside6

Peachesnstuff's memory reminded me that I learned at an early age about life and death of pets and people. But it never got any easier!2

I used to cry over my cat while she was still alive because I understood her eventual death was inevitable. Yes, I still grieve things before they end. Especially summer

Yup. You and I have had this conversation before. I often tell my dogs to please outlive me bc I don't ever want to feel that pain. 💔3 -
Make your next pet a tortoise, which often live well over 100 years, and this'll never be a problem again.3
