Yikes! Time to turn this ship around5 -
Six days since I wrote last.
One day in between I had a higher sugar dinner, went up by 2-3lbs the next day. Still up by 1lb since I took my weight six days ago. (*sigh)
The scale has not budged since the last three days. Seems like an endless wait of eating low calorie, having calorie deficit, working a lot and still, the weight wouldn't come off4 -

What I do, is keep eating at the same level for 3 weeks to a month, and if not enough weight or no weight is lost, I reduce my energy intake. How much depends on the situation, but since 7700 kcal is seen as a reasonable equivalent of 1 kg of body fat, it makes sense to reduce energy intake by about 250 kcal a day if one kg of weight loss is desired in one month.
Needless to say, that may be too much if energy intake is already very low, but it is a nice rule of thumb to keep in mind, and to remind us that weight loss is mainly a game of patience.2 -
November to January Wt Loss Challenge
Looking back over past 4 or 5 years, with the exception of May to Aug 2021, all I see are unmet goals. Slow but steady 10 # backslide started Sept ’21. Seeing 167 last month sure was a reality check … only 3 below 170’s which took forever to get below.
New goal is to just move down the ladder 1 lb at a time. Get it off, hold, keep it off, then focus on the next pound. Dec 31st edit: Totally lost focus. Need to investigate whatever mind game continually results in this.
Dec 1st Goal change: to be below 160 by Christmas – my gift to myself! Another unmet goal … think know I need to incorporate this into a Determined Action for 2023!
Then another 5 off by end of January. Update: to get below 160 by end of January.
Nov 1st: 166
7th: 165.8
14th: 165.2
21st: 165.4 Sooo much stress everywhere! *sigh*
22nd: 165, finally w/i WW points for the day! 8+ water but no exercise
29th: 165.4
30th: 165.2 New WW plan. Didn’t slip into mindless eating this evening.

Thanks for sharing your journey
In the last two months I’ve gained 5 lbs
Being petite that’s a game changer for clothes fitting & feeling comfortable.
Today for cardio I completed 30 minutes on trampoline. Also made a big green salad to accompany lunch and dinner
Best wishes,
💞 Karen in Oregon

I read a very good advice on some other weight loss thread, to aim for 5% loss of the total weight. I found it a practical advice and have done that.
Now targeting the 5% loss of the current weight.

Let's do it!
I decide to start my new year by reading inspiring books (more like their summaries and videos) and I came across (again) "The Compound Effect".
I loved the idea of adding small efforts to achieve big results. The 5% weight loss is also a part of a larger weight loss, over a longer period. It helped me understand that consistency is more important and if I'm consistent, then the results will be inevitable!
Here is wishing everyone success in all their efforts in this New Year!4 -

I am going to try Dry January which will hopefully shed some pounds around my belly especially. I am allowing myself a little sweet candy in the evening to deal with any urge to drink.
We are also cooking a lot more at home.
Happy New Year!6 -
Today’s exercise was none existence. I napped for 2 hours and then laid around for the rest of the day. Just needed a day off.
Today's funny and how I felt 😂

Well I clearly went off the rails the latter half of December nearly gaining back all of the weight I lost last year . My goal for the remainder of this challenge is to lose 2 lbs; that seems like it should be doable. I have been back to the gym the past two days and threw out all of the leftover Christmas cookies and holiday treats. I am rededicating myself to good health and good habits.
We've got four more weeks in this challenge, lets finish strong!!7 -
I have rid myself of the last of the holiday sweets by taking them to a New Years Eve party. I also dumped out all open alcohol bottles so that temptation is gone. Progresso soup has many kind that are lower calorie/lower sodium so I have stocked up on those. Husband and I are both aiming for the 5% loss. That is 8 lbs for me. I weigh in on Fridays. Good luck to all and keep the tips coming!6

Very happy to see so many new and returning members joining in. Welcome everyone!
So glad to be going back in the right direction again and that my body released the pound I gained over Christmas weekend. It was a challenging week since I was stuck in the house with a head cold and had to skip an additional day of exercise, plus I kept feeling the urge to snack even when I really wasn't hungry.
I think that I may make my 10 lb goal by the end of the month after all.
Have a great week!

Going by the 5% suggestion, I'd like to lose 8 more lbs then reassess. I have been eating a lot (especially sweets) but I think this is my body rebelling against me withholding alcohol from it. That is OK. Better gummy bears than wine right now.9
