Lately we have been having our own and the results have shown up on my scale and my tight pants. When I really think about it, half is more than enough. Really, after 4 bites of anything you are no longer hungry. That needs to be my goal, not stuffed full.
I so very much agree with you. I never paid attention to portion control, but learned about it in these community boards. And now I realize, with portion control and sipping water with my food has produced amazing results for me.6 -

I signed up for Noom. 7 day trial- I'm going to do this for 6 days and then decide. It would then cost $160 for 7 months which is not too bad. I will determine.
Key takeaways:
weigh every day
record food (of course)

New link for next three months!!4 -
My name is Mary, 65 from Pennsylvania. I'm a RN and work long days.
Been MIA for a few months but still logging in everyday since I started MFP 5/14/21.
Unfortunately lost my mojo and gained a lot back but not all Thank God! Need to get back on track and focused. I bought a NEW to me, gently used, Commercial PreCor EFX 835 Elliptical. It was delivered the beginning of November, as others here know I wore my previous 10+ year old one out from my extensive workouts. Stopped using it mid November to get my Christmas shopping done earlier than my norm. I was planning to start back up a week ago but had a GI bug and very weak. I restarted today but very slow at 45 minutes and 3 miles compared to my 3 hour historical workout sessions. I will MAYBE workup to it again.
Heaviest weight 255 lbs, twice. :-(
9/14/20-255 lbs
5/14/21-232.2 lbs MFP start date.
4/6/22- 147.6 lbs (107.4 lbs lost) I did NOT have a surgery. Did Keto.
8/1/22- 167.2 lbs
12/1/22-198 lbs
1/1/23- 213.4 lbs
1/2/23- 213.4 lbs
1/3/23- 207.4 lbs
1/4/23- 205.8 lbs
1/5/23- 205.8 lbs
1/6/23- 201.4 lbs
1/7/23- 202.4 lbs
1/8/23- 204.4 lbs elliptical 45 minutes Interval setting
1/9/23- 204.4 lbs elliptical 46 minutes Interval setting
1/10/23-201.6 lbs elliptical 47 minutes Interval setting
1/11/23-203.6 lbs Not sure why the uptick. I stayed on track yesterday with my carbs/calories. I worked today. For new people I don't workout on work days. I'm a RN and work long days. That's why I used to do long elliptical sessions on my days off. To makeup for my work days. I work 4 days/week, 10+ hours.
1/12/23-203.8 lbs work day
1/13/23-204.6 lbs work day
1/14/23-205.4 lbs on call today, My Elliptical 120 minutes, Interval setting straight through this AM!!! 8.5 miles. Getting back up to my long sessions. Maybe I wasn't out of Cardiovascular endurance, as I thought. The previous sessions I wore a short sleeve shirt instead of a tank top as I did today again. (It's chilly in my basement.) Even though I had a fan on, maybe I just got to warm, which wore me down.
1/15/23-202.4 lbs My official weigh in day, My Elliptical, Interval setting, 120 minutes straight through again this AM, 8.1 miles.
1/19/23-199.4 lbs!!!! Finally Onederland again! 14 lbs down since 1/1/23. Off today. Did Elliptical Interval setting, 150 minutes for 9.7 miles. Getting my motivation back! Making a ham tonight so next few days will probably not be good. At least it will just be water weight from the sodium.
1/20/23-200.2 lbs off today Elliptical 150 minutes on Interval setting, 9.82 miles
1/21/23-203.4 lbs work day
1/22/23-200.2 lbs Off today Elliptical Interval setting 150 minutes for 10.05 miles Hopefully a whoosh after the ham is used up!
1/29/23-210.4 lbs :-( Elliptical Interval setting 150 minutes, Friday, Saturday and today, each day about 10 miles.

I travel this week on Mon, Tue, Wed and Fri of this week. That affects my ability to take my water pill so that is not going to help either. It’s going to be a tough week but I got this! Staying positive…..
01/30-194.8-(Trend Weight: 197.2)- It’s been a long week of working really hard at this. It’s paying off. I think pre-logging my food is helping the most. It really helps me stick to my menu. Good choices also helps me to get in more volumes of food so I’m not super hungry. All my “diets” work UNTIL the moment I get hungry……. Carefully planning is key for me right now. Travel this week is Mon, Tue, Wed. I’ve got to plan for this and not go off the rails. I think I can do it. The weight loss this week has made me feel strong and capable. I hope these feelings stick! I am EXACTLY at my January goal (5 lb loss) and I am going to be careful today as my last weigh-in is tomorrow (last day of the month).

I’ve been absent most of the challenge, for next challenge I’m going to be focusing on adding some intermittent fasting. This this year I’ve decided I really need to work on those habits to lose the last 15 AND keep it off.Challenge weight goal: 142lbs
Weekly weigh ins to avoid the daily ups and downs.

I was off for my beach vacation and arrived back hours ago, so wasn't tracking. Vacations are funny time for me because I usually have harder time finding food I eat, but I also pack food with me, and would be more calorie dense if consumed too quickly.
Let's just say I was so happy seeing broccoli and cauliflower few days ago lol.
However my phone also went missing or 'missing' , so tracking is more challenging currently.

01/31-194.8-(Trend Weight: 197.0)-I exactly made my 5 lb goal of weight loss this month. That is is 1st time in a very very long time. However, I am a million miles away from my goal for the total challenge. My desire to get healthier and to look and feel better is pretty strong right now. Last night I had a MAJOR set-back which did not hurt my bottom line this morning because God is Good. I know, of course, it can take a day or two to show up but I am praying that it will be okay. Today will be a banner day. Travel was cancelled for today so that will help. I will see you all in the next challenge. I am really proud of everyone who keeps showing up and never gives up on their personal goals and their dreams.
