Thursday weigh-ins
11/01: 152.0 (Post-COVID wt. - I had dropped >6 lbs. in 1 week; I knew it wouldn't last, LOL!)
11/03: 154.0
11/10: 155.4
11/17: 153.8
11/24: 155.0
12/01: 159.0
RUH-roh! pre-, during and post Thanksgiving fallout! Time for a "DO-OVER"! I think I need to start posting my weight daily from now on, as accountability practice, for fear I might allow things to get out of hand again through the end of the year.
Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!
Have a nice weekend! (Carole)9 -

I have tried twice now to sign up for a weight loss program (they even send you scale) through my script insurance company. My friend told me about it; and it's free. You weight yourself every day on this program. And they have a good app for tracking. I like the whole idea because i like new things and challenges.
@RubyRed427 I signed up for something like that a few months ago. My health insurance company sent me an email offering the free scale and app so I signed up. They sent the scale and I installed the app but I didn't like the app so I deleted it. The scale sits in my closet. I can't remember what it was called.
I joined WW a few weeks ago, hoping to shake things up a bit and that it would encourage me to eat more veggies and drink more water. At the time they gave you an extra point for every cup of non-starchy veggies you ate and another point if you drank at least 64 oz of water a day. 2 days after I joined they changed the plan and took those extra points away, along with a bunch of zero point foods like potatoes and whole wheat pasta. I've been using the WW app, along with MFP, to track every day for the past 3 weeks and I can say that WW is nothing like I remember it to be many years ago, when I used it to lose over 90 lbs. Basically, if I don't stick to fruit, non-starchy veggies, beans, and chicken or turkey breast and fish I run out of points very quickly. I think I really need more flexibility since I am going to be tracking for the rest of my life. I joined for 6 months so I can't cancel it until then I think I'm just going to stick with using MFP since it has worked well for me so far.

I go to the dr today and was really hoping to be 160 but I am 165 so probably 170 when I get on her scale with all my clothes on. I am prepared for a lecture. I have not had any alcohol in 5 days (doing completely dry December and hopefully beyond) so I can at least score some point with her for that.5

The goal now is to do the cardiac rehab for 12 weeks, twice per week. Also, to work on lowering my cholesterol. Of course, losing weight always helps so the journey continues for a healthier lifestyle and a healthier heart.
12/05-197.8-(Trend Weight: 197.7)- It seems like I hover around the same pound or two for months, then finally see a nice little drop. My last substantial drop was when I dipped into Onederland. Now I seem to be staying there no matter what (yay) but not really making any lasting further progress again. Looking for my next real drop or whoosh. They need to come faster!

Nov 8 88.2 kg 194.4 lbs (Down 0 - 0 in total this challenge)

11/8 192.6 (3.2 lb loss )
11/15 195.6 what the heck! .2 lb loss from 11/1
Forgot to update my challenge a few weeks..
12/6 190.4 (5.2 lb loss this challenge)
I was on vacation last week and I feel like I have broken through my plateau. I did not eat much” vacation food “ or treats as I’m gluten free and vegetarian so that definitely helps keep me in check. My weight loss has been slowing for sure, but I’m visibly smaller so… 🤷🏻♀️
Just keep going! 💪8 -

12/6 123 (-1.8 lbs)
I'm hoping that this downward trend continues. Starting physical therapy for my shoulder tomorrow and hope to be back in the gym soon.
@IAmTheGlue - I am gluten free and vegetarian too! I know what you mean about not gaining on vacations. I frequently lose weight when I travel as there aren't many options for this type of diet in some regions of the country or outside the country as well. I lost 8lbs in one week when I went to Paris due to lack of food options (also all of the walking).5 -
The Dr appointment went well. I was 168 on her scale instead of the 165 I was at home but I had clothes on and it was the middle of the afternoon so this is to be expected. Grateful that everything was "normal" otherwise. This morning on scale I was 164.4 so very slowly going down. My weigh in day is officially Friday so I really hope to stay under 165. I'm walking my grandson around the mall in his stroller today while my daughter organizes her home so I hope to get in a few thousand steps.
Everyone here is trying so hard and I am inspired by your journeys. Thank you for sharing.7 -

My husband and I have been militant with our healthy eating this week. We have two shakes for breakfast and lunch, a few snacks like cucumber, hard boiled, and carrots....
The evening meal is something simple and healthful: one night I made a big salad and we had it with chicken and one potato each.
I have logged every single bite for three days in a row- I have not done that in years.
And I lost a few pounds this week. Of course, it may be water weight.
Also, we have not had our wine this week- not a sip. That will save hundreds of calories alone.
It's actually fun doing this together- we keep each other honest. We cut the veggies together and cook.
We may have some cheat days because of the holiday season, but plan on continuing this until end of January.
It's been a good week!10 -
@RubyRed427 It is so nice to start our improvements NOW instead of waiting until Jan. 1. I feel like resolutions on that day just doom me to fail...it's too much pressure. I'm glad this challenge takes us through the end of January instead of the end of December.
My weigh in day is tomorrow. If I'm down a lb, I will be happy.5 -
