Lisa: Aw shoot!!! At least they cancelled before you had started the prep.
@Jenni4w I decided ages ago that gyms were unnecessary. I work out at home. It saves me time, and I can work out throughout the day when I have a a spare 10 minutes. I use YouTube vids. You can search for any exercise you want. Find something you like doing and do that. I like dancing, so that’s what I do. I have dumbbells and resistance bands.
Heather: What Lisa said.
Tracey: What a mess! I hope the lawyers can sort it out. You’re a good daughter to make sure mum has a functioning phone.
Lanette: 🥰 The cosy cafe analogy.

Thanks for the birthday wishes Barbara. Today is the day but I am celebrating this coming weekend. DD and I leave Friday for San Diego. DSon will pick us up and we will go to his home for a while then go to hotel in Anaheim. Having dinner at Cheesecake Factory, spending Saturday at Disneyland and one more night at hotel. Son will drop me off at my cousin's in Laguna Beach on the way back to SD. In addition to my son and DD we will have my DGS and his partner with us and also my DD's best friend. One of my friends from South Dakota was going to come but had to cancel due to a funeral in her family. DD will return home on Monday and I will come back on Wednesday. Looking forward to a fun time.
Rebecca- how much snow did you get on the island? We got a dusting here this morning.
Lisa - glad they let you know early. Now you can put off the dread for a while. Enjoy your egg.
Everyone take care, Sue in WA6 -

It's time to think about a fresh start in a new month. I've posted the new thread for February and hope to have all of you join me there. It feels good to turn the page on the calendar.

Despite 40lbs last year, I am still not there. The newness of our new digs is starting to wear off, including the draw of the delicious daily food menu in the Bistro here. There will always be delicious food here. If I am a bit more choosy, I will end this weight stall. I am exercising a lot because of the free classes, the 4 dog walks/day, etc., and am feeling more fit.
Hugs to everyone.

Karen - I think you're at a good place. You've done a great job losing 40 lbs and are smart to be reassessing your environment and figure out where to go from here. Sometimes not gaining is a better goal than losing, in my opinion. At least that's where I'm at.
Are you still liking/wearing your Crocs? Mine arrived yesterday. I like that fact that they aren't super cushy and are plenty wide. Not sure what I think about the nubbins other than maybe I need to wear heavier socks.
Lisa - Corey and that icy bridge gave me the willies yesterday. Glad they cancelled your procedure for now and you can have some normal eating days.

Yes I wear Crocs most of the time. I love them. I especially love a new pair, a gift from my spouse. They feel so cushy when they are brand new.

Sue: Happy Birthday
Jenni4w: I would work out at home and start with 30 minutes of exercise!
Viv: Glad you enjoy volunteering at the theater.
Heather: Glad you are more at peace now. I need to look up palimpest!
Craven Sunshine 71: Welcome
Barbara: Congrats on weight loss down to the 130's
Sandy: Welcome. I eat no sugar chobani. yogurt
Barbie: Is what your doing called second sleep. I think some of the early settlers in the Americas did this.
Tracey: Difficult time. Glad you spent time with your best friend and brother.
Kylia: Have a good time in Cincinnati
Terri: A virtual hug back to you!
Rori: The Row house sounds interesting!
Tired from the day...too tired to exercise...but my son came and got his dog, so I am hoping to sleep well tonight.
We are watching 1883 on tv and enjoying this. I am also watching SeaSide Hotel. There will be care giver at 8am tomorrow and I will go out and get my hair colored. Enjoying reading all your posts!
Best,

Happy birthday Sue
Tooth extraction went well. Had to eat soft foods today. Hurting a bit now but bleeding has basically stopped. Go back in early May to discuss implant process. I have read the whole process can take a year. Will need to see how that works with my dental insurance with work and if that is a factor in retirement date.
Heading off to bed. Work was rugged-several problems jumped to the forefront due to someone not staying on top of things. Will have to consider next actions after I cool down.
See you on the February thread!
Take care all,
