I did great yesterday until about 3:00 in the morning when I hit the candy dish (leftover Christmas chocolates etc still in there which I have had no problem resisting for 2 months now!) It was emotional eating 100% due to something that happened. When I say I gorged myself with it, I mean that I put a handful of it in all at once until I actually coughed and choked on it. But I still managed to swallow it! Of course, glucose is up this morning but scale was good because my exercise level was good and my overall day was on plan, otherwise. However, we all know it may still show up on the scale. I’m just sharing, my friends because you know who you are and you are not alone. Back on track today. DD and grandson will arrive this afternoon and hopefully she will not spend the weekend trying to feed me! Last weekend she brought very very high calorie and high carb soup she made. I promptly put it in the freezer in multiple measured servings. I will be refeeding it to her during times she is hungry and don’t know what she wants! Revenge!
02/10-193.6-(Trend Weight 196.0)- It has been since approximately the end of 2021 since I touched on 193. I am very happy to see this number. I know that counting my carbs and keeping my calories within limits is making all the difference. It takes both for me. I am still tweaking the menus, figuring out what my triggers are etc., finding my worst temptations and what I simply can’t resist so I can keep it away from me. It’s a learning process, this carb AND calorie counting, but I’m getting a little better at it every day. My first dietician appointment (for diabetes) is next Thursday. They will likely help me navigate the 3 diets I need all at once, weight loss, heart healthy (low fat) and low carb for the diabetes. In the meantime, I’m sticking to mainly healthy fats when I dip into the calories. Let’s get ready for Spring, my friends! It’s hard to imagine it after the snow storm last night and the loss of power this morning for a couple of hours, but the wildlife is telling me it’s on the way!

02/11-193.0-(Trend Weight 195.7)- A great foodie day yesterday, a horrible foodie night in front of the TV last night. God must have intervened. I didn’t really deserve this drop but I hope it will stick. I put in extra exercise last night when filled with guilt and regret. I will watch my diet today with a Grateful Heart. I hope this number sticks and continues its downward trajectory. It’s beautiful and (finally) sunny in Northern Michigan today. Wow, how it lifts the spirits! We are expecting unusually warmer temps this week for our mid-winter area. So excited for this!

02/12-193.6-(Trend Weight 195.5)- Well, it looks like my little last minute mini-binges during this past week have shown up. I’ve just got to deal with it. Yesterday was a perfect day filled with pre-logged food and lots of movement and exercise. No sleep again though. They have changed my Restless Leg Syndrome medication and it has to be ramped up over a 90 day period. So what I am getting is not enough. Lack of sleep does affect my losses so I hope it won’t stand in the way of my goals. Thursday night: 1 hr 42 min., Friday night: 2 hrs 47 min., last night: 4 hrs 7 min. That’s just not good enough. Tomorrow is travel with my biggest eating friend. Love her, but food is her main focus. I will try to make good choices and ignore her plate at the restaurant. It is a bit of a far travel to see the endocrinologist (finally). It’s been a long 6 month waiting list to get in. There, we will make decisions on my diabetes treatment plan since what I am doing now is clearly not working. I’m praying insulin is not the answer and that the doctor will give me a medication change (non-insulin) and more time for self-improvement. I have lost some weight since I first signed up for the diabetes center and I have improved my glucose numbers. However, if she just goes by my last A1C (a six month study) which was before all the positive changes (and right through the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays), I’m in trouble. Fingers crossed!

02/12-193.6-(Trend Weight 195.5)- Well, it looks like my little last minute mini-binges during this past week have shown up. I’ve just got to deal with it. Yesterday was a perfect day filled with pre-logged food and lots of movement and exercise. No sleep again though. They have changed my Restless Leg Syndrome medication and it has to be ramped up over a 90 day period. So what I am getting is not enough. Lack of sleep does affect my losses so I hope it won’t stand in the way of my goals. Thursday night: 1 hr 42 min., Friday night: 2 hrs 47 min., last night: 4 hrs 7 min. That’s just not good enough. Tomorrow is travel with my biggest eating friend. Love her, but food is her main focus. I will try to make good choices and ignore her plate at the restaurant. It is a bit of a far travel to see the endocrinologist (finally). It’s been a long 6 month waiting list to get in. There, we will make decisions on my diabetes treatment plan since what I am doing now is clearly not working. I’m praying insulin is not the answer and that the doctor will give me a medication change (non-insulin) and more time for self-improvement. I have lost some weight since I first signed up for the diabetes center and I have improved my glucose numbers. However, if she just goes by my last A1C (a six month study) which was before all the positive changes (and right through the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays), I’m in trouble. Fingers crossed!
02/13-192.2-(Trend Weight 195.2)- Travel today. Heading out early. Pleased with my progress. Yesterday was a low physical activity day but a good low cal/carb day. I think maybe my body needed the physical break. No sleep again last night 2 broken hours.
