Snowstorms in LA!!
I am almost glad that I became intolerant to Red Wine, since I feel like that is mostly what I am craving with this Covid.
Apparently Covid is still circulating. I am 4X vaccinated, so am likely having an easier time with it? Two full days have now passed since testing positive, not being impatient at all, just resting lots.
@globalhiker
Yes, I believe that getting outside every day is important for all of us.
Of course I haven't been dressed in days although I did put a coat on over my pjs yesterday and take out the garbage lol.
@MissMay
That sounds like a fabulous doggie park! I am glad that you get to go there : - )9 -
I am Dawn, I live in SE BC Canada
My ongoing goal remains, 16-20 AF days per month.
I had 17AF days for January (a long month)
I do this diary style to keep track, and I post the next morning
Wednesday Feb 22 - AF - Left work sick. 2 of my friends that I went to the comedy show with on Saturday tested positive for Covid Wednesday morning. I have tested negative so far, but haven't had the energy to test again. I will later today. I had planned AF anyway for Wednesday and Thursday. Hard to eat much less drink alcohol.
Thursday Feb 23 - 1 1/2 drinks. Tested positive for Covid Thursday morning. I think that I got out of bed 10 times throughout the day, each feeling like a new day. Watched a little bit of TV, and the accompanying Alcohol made me feel nice and temporarily soothed. I don't even know what time that was. No hard and fast plans for AF, if I feel like it I will have it. Back to bed...
Friday Feb 24 - AF - found out that most of the others at our table for the comedy show have also tested positive. Mostly just really tired with sore sinuses possibly brought on from jamming a stick up my nostrils for the tests. Drinking lots of water, taking Tylenol, eating what I can. No loss of smell or taste. Again, no specific plans for AF.
Rolling total: 14AF days out of 24 days. 50% AF won't cut it to reach my goal in 28 days (reminder to self)6 -

I have heard from many dog owners aboutt the positive results from doggie CBD. Definitely worth a shot.
My guess for the photo is Kluane Yukon.
and inspiration guess Georgia O'Keefe3 -
Quick post before I get busy housecleaning and exercise. Had a busy week with lots of appointments last week so I will stay in today and enjoy the rainy day feels and get some things done inside.
Planned all my meals and 1-2 A for evening and will stay within my calorie goals.
February stats:
AF - 16
A - 8
Goals & accountability: No more than 2 glasses per day
I have never done a ‘less alcohol’ lifestyle approach while I was working in the corporate world for the past 20 years and this board is so helpful. Now that I am retired the stress is totally reduced as well. Who knew?!?
So thankful for that and I have much more energy practicing LA.
Have a great Saturday all!6 -
Feeling okay so far today. I took my Garmin off so no idea what my sleep score would be. Don't really care today. Going to shoot once again for AF. Not going to sweat it if I fail.Anyhow what I am saying is what you do for Mr.B is touching to my heart. ❤ And he appreciates everything you do for him.RockinRobyn672 wrote: »@Mfowler883 My son used chews for his aging and ailing furry companion, Winston. Also, great photo! I'm guessing Badlands.dawnbgethealthy wrote: »@mfowler883 I have heard from many dog owners aboutt the positive results from doggie CBD. Definitely worth a shot.

See that's what I mean, too many success stories not to at least give it a shot.
I'll give it 'til this evening to give up the location and inspiration. Definitely on the right track. I hadn't even thought about Georgia - like most, I typically associate her with her paintings and forget that she did a lot of great photography as well.

@dawnbgethealthy sorry to hear it’s Covid and that you feel so awful. Here’s hoping you feel better soon!!!3

@mfowler883 glad to hear Bentley had a good day, but yeah, tough decisions are very heart wrenching. All the best to you.
I was just about to reach for a glass of wine (the siren song of 5:15PM) , but after catching up with everyone’s post, I’m enjoying my mocktail! I’ll probably have a glass of wine with dinner, but I’d rather have one than two. So, thanks everyone!
I had an Old Fashioned after tennis yesterday with one of my friends, and wine with dinner, which I really could have done without. Slept terribly, but I blame my toe throbbing all night! I stepped on Moose’s ball last night, went down, and not only stubbed my toe, but took out a big chunk of my big toe as well! Ouch!!!!! I’m otherwise OK but I don’t relish the thought of exercising with a big open wound on my foot. Ok it’s not that big, but still…5 -
This is my dog Moose. He is half Toy Poodle, quarter Yorkie and quarter Pomeranian. 100% noisy.8 -
@mfowler833...When Middle Daughter was a teen I thought I had Ansel Adams living in my house. She took over one of our bathrooms as her personal darkroom, even put a padlock on the door after someone "OPENED THE DOOR !!"
We still have a family album of her black & white photos.
Best wishes to Bentley from Catpuccino.5 -
@globalhiker ...it is disturbing to have one of our most upbeat and positive posters sound so.......not. A vacation is definitely needed up there !!
Our Princess phone was baby blue. To match the sofa. My parent's decorating choice. 💺5 -
@forestdweller1 my grandmother had a party line into the mid 70’s. I had a pink rotary dial Princess phone growing out of my ear from 7th grade on. My mother couldn’t stand how I tied up the line on the wall mounted white rotary phone, so I got my own “teen line”. Bliss!!5

I would be furious, depending upon what stage of the process I was in. Once the film is processed, opening the door might be a huge inconvenience and cost some prints, but at least the shots aren't lost. I have a dark bag and canisters for processing film, been experimenting with different films and chemicals. Thought I could get by with a monobath but it's kind of a compromise. My last roll was shot with the Leica and I'm not entirely sure that my shutter speeds weren't off. I need to send it off for a CLR, anyway - the mirror in the rangefinder is really weak.
The location was Zabriskie Point, in Death Valley. The inspiration for that particular edit was Ansel. I feel like B&W images can often convey something more striking, more interesting; we focus on shape, on light and shadow, without the distraction of color.

We had a birthday party yesterday for my grandson's first birthday. Despite me having tons of beer and wine here, almost EVERYONE opted for NA drinks. We even did a champagne toast when it was time for the cake and way more than half the people opted for seltzer water in their glass. One of my nieces is pregnant and the other 2 must be trying because they stayed dry too. I'd say with 24 people here, 3 beers were consumed and 2 bottles of champagne. Unbelievable! I poured myself a glass of merlot when everyone left BUT I only had a couple sips and decided I didn't want it. Maybe that hypnosis I did the night before worked? I listened to it again last night as I was drifting off.
I am feeling happy and grateful for a lot of things. Oh, @MissMay the description of that dog park is delightful. I would love to see something like that. Once our 2 dogs are gone, we have decided not to have any more pets. We love them so much but we want to be able to travel more and they are just so sad when we go anywhere. I will just have to enjoy other people's fur babies.7 -

20 A days
6 AF days
Well, I sure didn't meet my goals for 14 days AF.
The positives:
Still lost 4 pounds this month
Logged food and drink every day
Didn't drink more than 2 glasses of wine on a work night.
The negatives:
Middle of the night self loathing - Why did I drink again?
Increases feel of anxiety the next morning
March goals: Not sure yet. I need to make it attainable.
