Well as usual a day late.....LOL. Started the month with 2 beers with a burger yesterday. Then disaster struck. I won't bore you with the details, it was not life and death. Just clumsy fingers and a broken jar. I make a tincture with THC & CBD and I will use this for pain from arthritis. It can get very expensive to make but will last me a long time. So poof just like that it was gone with the broken jar. <sigh>.

We are sorta at a standstill for packing. As we discuss what is staying what is going and when do we want to pack the everyday stuff.
We are thinking that when we return to rent a U-Haul to pack the day to day essentials then. After the remodel last summer I am not living out of a 'tub' with my kitchen things.

@forestdweller1 An electric skillet is not on our list to take in the car but I did put them in the skillet with the lid on for about 5 min, flipped them and finished cooking. They turned out great!

After the shift I just had, wine night was very welcome! One glass was all I needed to help deal with the busyness, high maintenance patients and a bunch of schedule changes! No need to have more when I came home.

@RockinRobyn672 youve made great progress with your healing. It just takes so much time. But we all want it to go faster!!!

@lmlmrn...so nice that your skillet biscuits worked out..save some cold for breakfast with strawberry jam ?? My first FIL and I would slip out at dawn to his Pond lot in New Hampshire. I'd build a fire & make biscuits in a cast iron skillet while he fished for breakfast. Never have fish tasted so good since. MIL will be 95 this month and all the friends and relatives will be "card-bombing" her on that day. She is beginning to "forget" but we hope that she will remember enough of us to be pleased and happy. The very bestest person ever in my life.

Only a couple days into my virtuous AM plans...land mines exploding !! On a 3 way call with a SIL, Middle Daughter, and moi, I was enjoying my planned air popped corn & 8 ounces of wine ...when news of a verdict in a trial we had been watching came on the news...reactions...more corn...discussions...more wine...opinions...more wine...AWWWK!! How did the bottle get empty ?? How easy it is to slip back down that slope...

Yes, @globalhiker , sliding into bed with a book is a great option. One of my favorites. But who can resist the siren call of a loved one on the phone ??

Need to get past my Covid induced lethargy and heart attack induced fear of exercise before I turn into a Reality Show creature...somebody come slap me into sensibility.

An almost 70 degree day brought out the flies from where ever they hide in Pittsburgh...Joy to the pussycats !! Catpuccino has clawed a few screen holes near his dining room cat tree...not worth repairing as the "Fly Of The Month Club" brings such happiness and exercise . The 20 minute chase & capture is fun for the humans to watch, and an aerobic exercise with a snack for the feline.

Hello! I’m Amanda, I’m a crazy cat lady from Michigan! I joined this forum in June of 2022 and since September I have decreased my drinking to one day a month! This is a huge accomplishment from where I was and I absolutely could not have done it without the wonderful mix of people in this group!

March goals: just make it through the month unscathed! (27 doctor appointments)
Alcohol goals: 95-100% AF

3/1: AF
Yesterday was a rough one but I didn’t even think about having a drink. Radiation continues to suck the life out of me but I can’t fight it, I have to do this. After today I will be halfway through treatment!

It’s almost Friday!

3/2: AF
Yesterday was a tough day on the radiation front. Skin breakdown and fatigue affecting my daily routines. I have 10 more sessions of radiation, or 2 weeks and then those effects can continue for up to 4 more weeks. I’m trying to manifest the complications away!

@lmlmrn Your life has been in a constant state of flux since I joined last June! I don’t know how you do it, I need my down time. Too much down time.

@forestdweller1 Is that the Murdaugh (sp) trial you’re talking about? I went to bed at 7 last night and didn’t know there was a verdict. Must Google ASAP.
Also, you can have cats or you can have nice things (couches, carpet, screens, curtains) not both. I pick cats.

@forestdweller1 *smak* for you and a *smak* for me! I sooooo want to blow off my workout this morning, but off I go. I’m always happy to have exercised. Plus the scale is telling me to get it in gear. Lots of thin crust pizza this week, this fat isn’t going away, and muscle ain’t gonna develop itself.

Hello My "LA" friends! Happy March! I am SO ready for spring! This month my goal is 16 AF days and limit drinks to 2 on A days. I usually post in the morning.

3/2: Drinks (3) - We went to a favorite nice seafood restaurant last night. My planned menu choice worked out and I drank my two planned glasses of wine. Once we were home I had an unplanned Old Fashioned and a square of dark Ghirardelli chocolate. Still, it's way better than in the past. But enough with the humdrum. I have what I think is a hilarious story to share, so here goes. The owner of the restaurant is an avid hunter apparently. The restaurant itself has a great atmosphere, but there is a "gauntlet" of deer mounts that one must walk through down a narrow hallway to the restrooms. It's a bit creepy. Right before we left, someone in our group headed that way and we started wondering what was taking so long. As we were walking to the car he recounted why. In the men's restroom there is a deer mount over the urinal. When this person was standing there in front of the urinal, he reached up and patted the dear on the nose, apologizing to it for having been made into "wall art". As he did this he lost his balance a bit and held on to the mount a little more for support. Can you guess what happened next?!? It fell!!! It fell and he caught it, right between his arms by the antlers, but it was so heavy that it went down far enough that the "stream" caught it between the eyes before he could react. So he set it down, cleaned it up as best he could with wet, soapy paper towels and was able to hang it back up. This dear mount now has a new hair style - a mullet! Try as he may, he could not get the hair to smooth back down! This morning we learned that he has bruises on each arm where the antlers landed. All-in-all I'd say this is one lucky guy. My imagination takes it to other "what if" places. It could have broken the toilet, poked out an eye, broken an antler, punctured other body parts (yikes!), etc. In this case, "the bucked stopped with his arms"! .... ROFL

I've not been to Bunco for years as I moved from regular to sub after the pandemic break. I felt myself falling into old bad habits and caught myself ... poured the rest of the glass of wine into the sink as I walked by when we switched tables.
Kept the count to 2 glasses of wine.

@RockinRobyn672 ~ thanks for sharing! Prayers that you continue to recover quickly! That IS a crazy story and amazing that no one was in the restroom at the time or walked in immediately after ....as there would be questions!! Oh my. I hope he's ok and not too bruised up.

As a former female hunter can I just say for the record what happened to the mount is not usual in the buck world.
Your male friend was just, ummm, MARKING HIS TERRITORY as they say in deer land. Very funny though and a once in a life time story to tell.

I am Dawn, I live in South Eastern British Columbia.
I joined this thread in November of 2018, a daily drinker at the time
My primary goal with drinking less is weight loss.

My usual goal is 16-20 AF days for the month,
I had 16AF days for the shortened month of February.

I do this diary style

Wed March 01 - 2 drinks - Still off of work this week from Covid
Thursday March 02 - AF - Starting to feel better, but my sleep schedule is all over the place, mostly up all night now.

Rolling total: 1AF day out of 2 days.

I was dry in January (as was my goal). I drank on two occasions in Feb. Both were within reason and wonderful!

My goal for March:

- Four alc days max total
- No drinking on work nights
- Two drink limit any day

AF last night so I am 1 and 1 so far this month. No big plans for the weekend. Might have a couple of drinks tonight.

My sister joined us. When she arrived at 4pm I offered her a non alcohol Fever Tree. She was surprised that I was not offering wine.
We had 1 bottle of wine for the evening (no more in the house and we asked that she not bring any). Instead of opening a bottle, DH and I held off until serving the meal and sitting down. We got 6 glasses of wine out of the bottle (2 glasses per person ... so they were not large pours).

March accountability: 1 days AF
Alcohol: 2 days (4 drinks)
Days over 2 glasses: 0
Goal: Limit 2 glasses per day; 12-16 AF days this month.

@itladyee - Thanks! Yes Bunco can be mindless drinking. Congrats for learning to stop at 1 glass of wine. You are doing great!

@Womona I have many potions for the skin breakdown. Unfortunately no single one seems to work. Maybe I will have to quit my job (👏🏻👏🏻) and become a full time lotion putter-on-person.
