@Skyleen75 Do you have any advice for a good glute stretch? I cannot get into one that feels the same in both sides. My right and left are really imbalanced so I've been focusing on single leg work but it feels like it's somehow making the imbalance worse.

@SheilaBoneham Thanks for your reply. I'm so energized and in the zone right now that I feel like I can't miss the opportunity to share with people if I think it can help. Being able to share and get tips in this thread is sparing everyone in my social life from having to hear about my weight and fitness goals and habits. Please take it as a compliment that I was way off with your assumed age :) That's awful that following professionals' advice did so much harm to your body. Learning that they did that to you and from what I've been reading in this thread from others' dietician advice, I'm going to be a much stronger self-advocate when the professionals give instructions that contradict my instincts and knowledge about myself.

    @shmmm3 I don’t below I have this many years—I’m not that old! 😁

Robyn here in SE Virginia. My goals this round are: 1) to continue planning/logging meals; and 2) NOT to reward my last round's success with extra food intake (this is what I normally do). I lost 4.6 pounds last round (yay!). My plan is to hold off on weighing again until the end of this round.

    Day/Weight/Comment
3/3: DNW - Last night was a night out. I pre-planned my food choices, so did pretty well there, but I had an extra drink and a square of Ghirardelli chocolate once we were back at home. Today will be easier because I'll be cooking dinner. Nevertheless, this is still better than before I first joined "Just give me 10 days". I'm not sure when I joined. I think it was something like Round 205. Although I haven't made the progress I wanted, looking back I realize that I've come a long way since then. I'm doing a lot less late night/unplanned snacking. I really appreciate this group.

@RockinRobyn672 You're doing great!!! I'm glad you are stopping to reflect on your progress. :) I know we can reach our goals, as long as we keep trying. My personal mantra is, "I might go down, but I'm going down swinging". Thanks for your kind words. <3

If I let myself go to bed with too much of a deficit, I can't sustain my diet goals the next day.

@shmmm3 Excellent observation!! I have kind of come to the same conclusion: if I go too low in cals, I eventually end up eating the whole house. Better to just keep up with a small deficit and stay the course. Thanks for reminding me of that!! :)

@itladyee Thanks so much!! These 10 day challenges are awesome!! I find it so helpful to break it into chunks like this. You always know that if you mess up there is another round just around the corner. :) Thanks for your kind words and back atcha!! :)

@39flavours Awww. You're so sweet! Thanks so much. It is great to have your support and I love reading your posts. :)

I am LMAO at your comment about being happy that the family get-together is cancelled! Haha! I can totally relate!!

I have found that if I go to bed with my calories low, I end up waking up starving and it can set off a chain-reaction of over-eating the next day. I find it helps if I have a little something before bed (lately it has been a 70-calorie fruit cup) to help me sleep a bit better. (I am a verrrrry bad sleeper.) And I also find I need a bit more calories on the days I strength train. :)

Glutes are hard for me too. I find that certain yoga poses that are thought of more for the hip really get those glutes.
I’m sure there are lots of YouTube videos so I won’t attempt a step by step guide😂 but good form and tiny tweaks are super important.

Pigeon- but it’s too intense for my tight hips

classic supine twist- extending top leg

Prone figure four- I add just the slightest side to side hip rocking movement.

Best advice, find a yoga instructor you like (they are NOT all the same). I LOVE mine- she starts every class with- “what would anyone like to work on?”

3/04 - 161.1 - Bouncy bouncy. Lots of sodium, lots of movement. I was over calories (exercise included) by 92 on MFP and 132 on Fitbit. Stressful day as it was BF's mom's birthday and she passed Oct '21. We went out for Guinness on tap for her birthday (her fave) after I got back from the vet. And that vet visit was unexpected to get my poor Smoke's face cut open to remove an abscess that kept getting infected and causing his eye to squint from swelling. Then dinner at Fam's. Big breakfast this morning in hopes of holding off eating until dinner time, which I'm unsure of plans at this point. Their septic system is all messed up so they're working on that today and we're headed to help here shortly. Hopefully lots of movement on my end to make up for some things.

    Previous Day's Comments
3/03 - I was right, body was playing tricks and didn't want to show 150s last round. Hectic day. BigBro's birthday dinner (stromboli) and "cake" (chocolate zucchini bread and he opted for Andes mint melted chocolate glaze vs the lemon glaze from last year). Then BF found 3 beautiful "family" vehicles (3 row seating) at our local dealership on the used lot. He ended up getting approved and bought one (his credit was wrecked from his ex wife so I've been helping him and teaching him how to rebuild it slowly so this is a HUGE deal to get approved 100% by himself). Another nasty storm blew through right before dinner. Luckily the worst of it (hail and super high winds) just barely missed us. No walk with pups as we still had rain and horrible (40-60mph gusts) wind. Hoping better for today. Will need to go into town after work so hoping dinner is early enough to walk the pups after. About to knock out today's workout. I almost skipped it and slept in as my alarm woke me mid-dream. I didn't have the patience to set a midpoint alarm between my normal and my "you're late for work" alarm but I ended up waking up fully between my snoozed alarm and my bladder haha! I'm excited to sleep in tomorrow, though.
