Debbie: Prayers for Destiny
Margaret: My Dad had hydrangeas on Cape Code and they grew beautifully. The ones in your picture look lovely!
Kylia: I am glad Aubrey is doing well.
KJ(Kelly): 5 kiddos would be a lot for me!
Heather: I smiled when I read DH is going to help Edie sew but he himself has never sewed! They will make quite the pair!
Joy: Hope you have a good time in Ireland!
Grandmagege: Welcome Back!
Annie: Thank you for your kind thoughts!
Rebecca: Your talk of lasagna had me craving lasagna!
Tina: Triple AAA didn't have a battery for my vehicle. Sigh...But it all taken care of now! Company for 3 weeks this summer! Wow!
Debbie: I drink lots of seltzer water. I was drinking sodas while caregiving but was able to stop these pretty quickly once caregiving was over.
Katla: I try to avoid juices because of the sugar, but have allowed myself a little OJ recently!
Carla: I am glad you are now pleased with Rich's obituary. I did the rough draft to my DH's obituary and then my son worked on it further. I am pretty pleased with it and it is something I will have for years to come!
Nice weather the last couple of days! Maybe Spring is here. If so I will try to get out and clean up the garden!
I make a to do list every day and get through much of it. I am tired in the evenings. Tomorrow I head to Atlanta to see my son. I have never seen his apartment! I hope I don't get too tired, but the only way to do more is to do more!
Best,
Rosemarie from GA
It really made it unique when I sprinkled the sauted onions and mushrooms on each layer. I use both Italian herb paste, and roasted garlic paste. I also precooked the zucchini strips by baking them, with Italian seasonings. Just maybe 10 minutes, so not long. Just not raw when you assemble.
Its time for lasagna!💖👍🏻

Machka: My best accomplishment this week.... I'm over the Covid~ All symptoms gone and tested negative after 8 days. Whew.
A senior gentleman who lives across the street invited me over for a glass of wine. He has seen me walking Mars numerous times by his home. He even remembers my DH doing the same years ago. This invite came out of the blue and I accepted because I know that I need more personal interactions. J projects a friendly and positive vibe. I took Mars on the appointed day and learned that J welcomed Mars into his beautiful home back when this cat was a full grown neighborhood stray. The three of us had a lovely visit. J is divorced, retired from a successful career, well travelled and a voracious reader. His home is warm, beautiful and neat as a pin. He put out a generous platter of finger foods, and baked oatmeal chocolate chip cookies from scratch just for me. What a treat. I so enjoyed getting to know him better and hope that we can develop a deeper friendship.
Tomorrow I'll be getting back to work with 'my boys', the Denver Nuggets. While I was isolating with Covid I puttered around outside clearing up and getting ready for spring annuals. However, knowing Colorado, we still have alot of freezing temps ahead.
Speaking of looking ahead....two months from today I will be in Brighton, UK.... Details TBA.
Stay well friends. We can do this.

Good Friday evening,
Spent hour and a half this morning trying to figure out how to record snips from security cameras for police to download to flash drives. Luckily I don't have to do it often, but that means I have to relearn when I do need to accomplish this. Theft was next door at gym. Lots of thefts in gym parking lots!!!! Please leave valuables at home and keep your keys on you and not in locker. Young man's car was broken into using his key from his locker while he was working out.
After that, DH and I came home to meet furnace guy as our furnace was dripping water on floor. While they took care of that, I paid a bunch of bills to put in mail once I got back to shop. Finally made it to the bank to deposit the rent checks for March (better late than never). Then back to work we went. One mechanic left before we got back, SIL left 20 minutes after we got back, and second mechanic left at 3:00 and won't be in tomorrow. SMH! I managed. Just busy enough to not get a lot of paperwork done, but I did notice one thing.....my attitude is much better when I don't have to deal with everyone else's attitudes! Now, if I could just learn to accept work that isn't up to my expectations......Someone asked me if the mechanics had charged the battery on their mower. I responded with they are suppose to, so I am assuming so since the invoice said they checked the electric start. Anyway, good end to the day.
This is youngest granddaughter, 13 y/o, heading out to her 8th grade formal. How did she get so grown up?
Dinner done. Furniture loaded in truck to take to Kentucky tomorrow. Check books balanced and a couple more things taken care of bill wise. I will sort some paperwork for work as soon as I clean the kitchen up. We were going to get to see oldest gs play in a jv baseball game after work tomorrow as it is the only one scheduled when we could possibly go, but that has been cancelled as the field is under water.
Love you ladies!
I am so glad we all have each other's backs!

Good evening ladies!
Beth and Rori thank you!
Today I ate 1163 calories, a bit high for me. I had a deficit of 418 calories, Yay!
I did an hour of yoga, twenty minutes on the bike, and thirty minutes of aerobic walking. Yay!
I'm getting some sciatica in my weak leg. It mostly tingles, but sometimes stabbing pains. Something for me to watch. There's always something!

Rori, Brighton?!?
Pip Kirby’s apple fell not far from his father’s tree
Kylia neither did your beautiful granddaughter’s.
Thanks all for the tipping recommendations. Pickup went smoothly, was ready right on time. Two items out of stock and one low stock but that’s not bad for a trip to Freddie’s. Lunch with D was delicious and accompanied by a ukulele player with a lovely warm Hawaiian voice singing favorites from the 60s. Post office line was short and there was no one else at the recycling center. A successful first outing but now I’m wiped out and off to early bed.
Lighter, lovelies!

Kim—You are remarkable and generous with your kindness. Your mom is so lucky that you are her daughter. (((❤️))). I hope you will be able to get needed rest and time for yourself.
Rose Marie—I was frequently drinking cranberry juice at breakfast when I realized the sugar level in this cranberry juice was not good for me. I have been much happier with cool water. 😘
Pip— Kirby’s dad’s picture & the knife case is a lovely display. Very nice! 😊
Rori— Enjoy your trip to Brighton. I think the trip will be wonderful. ⭐️ I hope you’ll tell us about your favorite things & places there.

Sad news, but I think it is the right choice but it was definitely not a decision we took lightly. If we did not make this decision then she would have keep bleeding and not be able to live, or do things she wants to do. Or even be able to get on any type of chemotherapy or even on a trial. So if all goes well and her platelets go up and stays up by next week they will be taking her leg off next week.
She needs some encouragement because this was a hard decision she made and she is nervous and scared.. But she wants to fight. She doesn’t want to give up.. and she needs prayers. That all her scans come back good. ( which scares the heck out of me that they won’t)
My heart goes out to her. Continuing prayers.2 -

What is your greatest achievement this week - small or large? For me, it would have to be starting yet another new job. I always find the first 2 or 3 weeks in a new job difficult.
Fortunately, I know a lot of the people around me, although I haven't worked directly with my new little unit before. This unit went through a shake-up about a year ago, and it was down to one person. That person became the manager (one level higher than me). In the past 4 or 5 months, they have hired 3 of us. I think we might be all at the same level or close to it - all 3 of us are listed as Senior Officers.
None of the 3 of us have worked directly in this area before so we're all learning. That helps. And we're all on a new floor of the building so we're all finding our way around.
But while the other 3 are kind of generalists, I will be specialising in one area. 3 days in and I've already been added to a working group, have set up meetings, and I've signed up for a newsletter. I've also waded through all sorts of legislation, statements of intent and other documentation.
Thank goodness it is the weekend!!
But also this week, I've put together and sent out a newsletter for my cycling club.
I've processed the results for 3 events with my cycling club.
I've run errands which involved a trip into the city on Monday, while I was still on leave.
We took Rhody to the vet for his vaccination and check up.
I tried to book an Easter getaway but we're too late. That's OK, I think I'd prefer to stay home.
I've dealt with heaps of emails.
I moved into my new office which involved finding the stuff I like to have with me and bagging it so it was ready to take.
We cycled three times earlier in the week and I've started climbing stairs again.
All while dealing with digestive issues from the antibiotics.
Oh, the 22nd was also the 5th anniversary of my husband's accident. I made it through most of the day all right, but broke down in the evening when all was quiet.

Debbie we’re keeping Destiny in our prayers 💕2

Machka..I love the above post! It is vital that we do the above things so that we maintain a strong sense of self. Only by having a strong self, can we participate meaningfully in relationships. I love the asking for your needs to be met...so important to figure out what your needs are, so that you can clearly communicate them. People are not good mind readers.

We were shocked to find out yesterday at Latin that one of our members has passed away. No details yet, but he was a lovely man. Carpe diem. Make the most of every day you are blessed with.
Our daughter delivered her old dog, Jack, to us yesterday just before dinner. He has settled in well. She will be away for 8 days.
Her younger dog Sidney will be happy in his usual kennels, where he is a favourite if the owners.
Continued prayers for Destiny 💕
Intentions for March:🔹Maintain weight < 140 (I have managed to stay at the lower end off the 140s)
🔹Continue with Solid Habit development
Intentions for today:
📍Solid habits
📍general chores
📍local shopping
📍work on art display
Virtual (((hugs))) and 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 for all those those who need them.
🙋♀️ Miele failte to the newbies.
☘️ Terri
March Action for Happiness:1. Set an intention to live with awareness and kindness. I intend to live with awareness and kindness
2. Notice three things you find beautiful in the outside world.Trees silhouetted against the sky; the appearance of snowdrops in spring; the sound of waves breaking on the shore.
3. Start today by appreciating your body and that you are alive. I meditate on this each morning when I wake up, and am grateful for each new opportunity to have a good day.
4. Notice how you speak to yourself and choose to use kind words. Positive affirmations are very powerful. Be kind to yourself, always.
5. Bring to mind people you care about and send love to them. We chatted with our girls about other family members, and raised a glass to them.
6. Have a ‘no plans’ day and notice how that feels. I will do this tomorrow (7th)
7. Take three calm breaths at regular intervals during your day.Resisting the temptation to plan my day. Serendipity reigns today.
8. Eat mindfully. Appreciate the taste, texture and email of your food. ✔️
9. Take a full breath in and out before you reply to others. I’m a great advocate of deep breathing, and find this works well.
10. Get outside and notice how the weather feels on your face.I wasn’t looking forward to going outside this morning as we had snow overnight and it seemed very cold. However, the sun shone in a clear blue sky, and the wind had dropped right down again, and I spent time with my eyes closed feeling the heat on my face before I went into the centre for Latin Study.
11. Stay fully present while drinking your cup of tea or coffee. Always! Gives me calm thinking time.
12. Listen deeply to someone and really hear what they are saying. When I tried to do this with DH this morning, he got distracted by a discussion on What the Papers Say on TV. 😝 However, we often have in-depth discussions, usually over lunc and dinner.
13. Pause to watch the sky or clouds for a few minutes today. The sun was valiantly trying to break through rain clouds just after sunrise, but the forecast is for heavy showers, but I’m watching the blue patches in hope that it clears up.
14. Find ways to enjoy any chores or tasks that you do.Doing the task isn’t the problem 😝 It’s getting started that’s difficult. I sometimes put on my favourite music, or listen to a podcast.
15. Stop. Breathe. Notice. Repeat regularly. Having coffee after putting away the week’s groceries. There is pink blossom on my prunus purpurea, magnolia buds are beginning to colour up, tulips and daffodils in the containers outside the window are beginning to bloom. There are lots of little birds flitting about in the trees. Spring is doing its best to banish the winter cold. This is a regular joy in my life.
16. Get really absorbed with an interesting or creative activity. I am preparing some paintings for a display of my Monday Painters work
17. Look around and spot three thing you find unusual or pleasant.Today it is more like autumn tha spring. There is a thick sea mist. My usual view of countryside is reduced to about 500 yards. Everything looks damp and grey.
18. If you find yourself rushing, make an effort to slow down. Took things slow and easy today. Planning to do the same tomorrow as it’s Mother’s Day in UK.
19. Appreciate nature around you wherever you are. My writing desk has a lovely view of the countryside beyond houses. And there are lots of bird life flying about amongst the trees in the neighbouring gardens..
20. Focus on what makes you and others happy today. My writing, and my art always makes me happy, and sharing it with like-minded people makes them happy. That means that today was filled with focusing on what makes myself and others happy.
21. Listen to a piece of music without doing anything else. ’Love Affair’ - Rainbow Valley. (NOW! That’s 60’s)Hubby came home and disturbed me 😝
22. Notice something that is going well, even if today feels difficult. My prep for the art display next week is going well. Most members have already given pieces for display.
23. Tune into your feelings, without judging or trying to change them. I am fully in the moment, relaxing, and contemplating what I will have for breakfast, and how I will spend my day. DH has gone out for the day so I am free as a bird so to speak. (My natural bent is positivity. I choose to be happy in the moment. I acknowledge all my feelings, but on the rare occasions when I feel down, I choose to count my blessings, put in some music and dance.)24. Appreciate your hands and all the things they enable you to do. I am grateful for all the pleasure I get from working with my hands at my art and crafts.
25 Focus your attention on the good things you take for granted. Positive thoughts are so uplifting26. Choose too spend less times looking at screens today.
27. Cultivate a feeling of loving-kindness towards others today.
28. Notice when you are tired and take a break as soon as possible.
29. Choose a different route today and see
what you notice.
30. Mentally scan your body and notice what you are feeling.
31. Discover the joy in the simple things of life.6 -

Walking so far this month ...
Today was hauling more rocks for the garden and then a 12.22 km bicycle ride. I know it says 11.22 but Strava didn't kick in for a bit because I updated my phone.

Several Christmases ago my stepdaughters gave me some beautiful cake tins. I never used the big one, because it was enormous. Today I realised I could use it to keep all the sewing stuff in for Edie and Johnny. It has just been sitting on the floor of DH'S study, clogging up the place, so I'm delighted to at last have a use for it.
Edie took a cello exam yesterday. I screenshotted this pic from the videos my son sent us. He said she'd done 'really well', but they won't get the marks until next week.
No writing today for the weekend. I'm going out in a minute to buy full milk and yoghurt starter, plus crême fraiche and eggs. I was rooting about in the freezer to find the skate, when I came across forgotten smoked haddock. I see Kegeree in the future for tonight. One of our very favourite things. I use a Delia Smuth recipe, but add frozen peas. I expect we will also have broccoli as a side.
Officially, Brighton is now 'the City of Brighton and Hove'. They two towns merged in 1997 and it was awarded city status in 2001. In the old days, Hove was always known as the elderly, genteel end. Brighton had a racy reputation. Now, Hove is much quieter than Brighton, but it has a younger, trendier image than it used to.
I still say, "I live in Hove." And I say "Hove" in a mock, posh voice. Or even, "Hove, you know."
