Hello ladies!
There's lunch, then some mail to take care of, then groceries. I'm expecting a package with tee shirts from colleges I attended. And I have to find a birthday present for my sister. A routine day in a pleasant life.

Rita - I'm totally jealous, lol. Do you plant in 5 gallon buckets? The seeds staying in suspended animation for a year is wonderful. You never know what nature is going do.

I’m not sure how big those buckets are. My rancher friends gets minerals for his cattle in them and gave them to me along with ‘aged’ manure.
We did go and sell all the handguns yesterday. What a relief! I’m happy DH is finally coming to his senses.

Miles is sprawled out on my shoulder so my head is crooked.
Finally got a text from my brother,he hasn't been well and has been depressed so no contact. They are going to do some laser surgery on his eye.I asked if he is on any antidepressants ,didn't get a text back.So keep him in your prayers too.

5. Bring to mind people you care about and send love to them. I sent texts to my long distance friends to send them love.
6. Have a ‘no plans’ day and notice how that feels. Most days are like that for me. So much less stress!

8. Eat mindfully. Appreciate the taste, texture and smell of your food. Started at breakfast.

14. Find ways to enjoy any chores or tasks that you do. I made a necessary task to go for a liver scan enjoyable by buying lunch for myself for a change.
15. Stop. Breathe. Notice. Repeat regularly. I really need to do this today! Didn’t remember to do this.
16. Get really absorbed with an interesting or creative activity. I have stones to paint. Will be distributing along the trails in exchange for free peddle boat and paddle board rentals. Didn’t do this. Too windy out. I colored instead.
17. Look around and spot three thing you find unusual or pleasant. Will do. 1. Lady wanting us to cut a lock off of her propane tank. 2. The rock formations around the park. 3. The lake surface when wind blows over it.
18. If you find yourself rushing, make an effort to slow down. I will consciously try to do this. I completed this!
19. Appreciate nature around you wherever you are. Easy here. I do it every day! Appreciation list in spoiler

I am so thankful that my DH got me into a regular exercise habit. I think I introduced the weight bearing and lifting elements after my reading on the subject.
I used to exercise so that I could eat. Then because I felt better and healthier. Now it's because it enables me to do all the things I want to do and enables me to have an unrestricted life. And eat.
Picked up Bea today. It was spitting with rain, so I set off for home, leaving her with DH while she climbed trees. I had a quick look round a furniture shop, but didn't see any decent sofas. Apparently, Bea kept DH entertained all the way home with various performances of songs and dances and demonstrations of football moves. She ate a huge portion of farfalle and pesto, and then salted caramel ice cream. She is now playing a board game devised by Max with DH. I'm almost ready to serve my duck legs, so I hope my son collects her soon!

Moving a little more each day. Over 5 K steps yesterday for the first time since I caught the cold. Cold and rainy today but will hope for a break to take the dogs down to the powerline meadow. Time to stand up (hands free :> ) and get after that PT.

Been busy. Did Denise Austin Boot Camp DVD Sun. The plan for tomorrow is to do a body pump DVD.
Jess and Colby came here this weekend. We went to Hibachi Grill for their birthdays. Just got food off the hibachi but I did have to constantly remind them no butter. I did have a piece of cheesecake since when we go out is the only time I get it. Only water to drink
Had senior bowling today and tonight is the first time we’ll be at ceramics.
Been working on the xstitch for Jess, you know, the one that I made the stupid mistake on and couldn’t fix so I had to start from scratch. I’d like to get it done before this one gal at the condo leaves so I can text her a picture and she can show someone else. The lady is 89 and not real good with the phone. Made an amaretto cake for Jess and Colby (his birthday is Sunday). Walked down to the dollar store yesterday and got cards.
Got a stye in my eye. Have rice in a sock that I microwave and put that on my eye. It’s feeling much better since I’ve been putting the heat on it

Went to the dentist and was told that I need a crown and possibly more work done. Hope it isn’t a root canal. Have to go back next week. They’ll take off the crown that’s there and they may have to replace it
Katla – having your own stuff makes things so much better.
Better get dinner ready. Don’t have to do too much since I started to get it together and then Jess came in so I just put things in a microwave dish.

Last week I bought a bunch of mackerel in different flavors, some in a Mediterranean sauce, some in tomato paste, others in a lemony olive oil. I have only had tinned mackerel in olive oil and I just mixed with a bit of mayo and squirt of wasabi over sticky white rice. Do any of you have some suggestions?

Leaving work early to attend a funeral for a man from church and than need to make 2 cakes for a funeral for Saturday as a woman from church passed away.
Our friend is still in the hospital and sounds like she will be going to rehab and she may not be able to live a lone again. Life can change in the blink of an eye.

A surprise gift arrived for me today from my son & daughter-in-law in Virginia. It is a wreath with artificial flowers of pink, purple, and yellow, and is a very nice front door decoration. My daughter in law created it. I feel very lucky to have such wonderful family. 💖
I also got a present from my horse-crazy grandson here in Illinois. It is a set of notecards with pictures of horses. 🐎
What sweet surprises. It is NOT my birthday.

@anitanap2 hi! I would recommend you start with the book Strong Women Stay Young by Miriam Nelson. She has a complete routine with ankle weights and dumbbells that is tested and has all the right instructions.
I do over thirty exercises at home including squats, deadlifts, upright row, single arm bent over row, cross punches, triceps pullovers, wrist and bicep curls, chest press, overhead press, and flies. I also do a bunch of stretches, and some knee PT and planks and sit-ups. I do a little bit of everything, generally with only five pounds, thirty reps, and I keep moving. My tempo is too speedy by most muscle-building experts, but it keeps the calories burning.
Good luck developing a routine that works for you! Keep going, and adjust as you go.

Allie – I had an absolutely terrible night last night. First, my eyes were watering (I must be allergic) and now my sinuses are really acting up. Because I got bad sleep, I’m very sluggish today
I don’t understand the torn jeans, either. Ugly if you ask me. Another thing is people in a 2 piece bathing suit who should not be wearing one.

Took a walk down to the vet to get a prescription for Loki and then stopped at Food Lion (mainly to use their bathroom...lol). Got some asian pears (they are good) and this free rub that I’ll give to the soup kitchen

Allie ... the doctor said to remove sharp items from Carmine?? Is Carmine threatening self-harm? I'm wondering why the doctor didn't recommend a residential program or hospitalization if that's the case. Medications take time to take effect and Carmine's situation shouldn't be taken lightly.
I cannot get up from the floor without bizarre movements. I need to push myself out of both chairs and the toilet seat. Knees without cartilage that are waiting on replacement are the culprits.
Kim ... the bane of every wheelchair user is bathroom door widths. This was a problem for my son whenever we visited friends or family ... narrow doors.
Spent 30 minutes Sunday and 15 minutes today in "stick-pick-up!" Already see a huge improvement in the front yard clean up. Also continuing with my bike and treadmill, more for therapy at the moment than weight loss.
Speaking of leg cramps, had a doozy while seated on a bench at a Mexican restaurant today at lunch. Dang thing launched me out of my seat. My friend and I quickly paid the bill and left, hoping I would be able to drive. Heated seats did the trick. I think the bench was short and pinching a nerve behind the leg. So glad it released and I was able to drive my friend home. Never a dull moment.
But not as bad as your day, Machka! So sorry everything seemed to go wrong. Hoping you have a better day tomorrow.

Well I kicked up the resistance on my bike and got my heart rate to 140 which is the high end of the target range for my age. Yay! I did fifteen minutes. MFP only assigns calories by biking time and speed, so I get no extra credit towards my daily calorie deficit. But my scale will know!

I get down on the floor and back up 4 times a day because I sit on the floor to put the dogs’ harnesses on to go out for walks. Otherwise I doubt I would remember or be motivated to do it.
My goal is to get up from the floor from seated without using my hands (some day).

Thank you for the birthday wishes. I didn't mention my birthday because I don't make much of a deal about it, but Barbara remembered it since we've known each other on this thread for so many years. I got to celebrate with a day like every other day doing exactly what I wanted to do. We got take out tostada salads from Taco Time (the only kind of restaurant food we've eaten in over a year) and otherwise ate all the regular stuff (I call it "Barbie Chow"). My sweet husband knows that I want no gifts, no treats, no events, but a card is OK so he bought a wonderful card and wrote sweet loving words on it.
Just as I was reading about how important it is for us to be able to get down on the floor and back up again, Bessie threw up on the carpet under the table. That required five down and ups to clean up the mess and the carpet. I'm not as nimble as I once was, but at 77, I can still get down and up. I do a lot of yard work on my knees on a mat all spring and summer.
Poor Carmine. Being a teenager is so difficult and with gender confusion and a sibling that can do no wrong, it must be even worse.

Rita-glad you got the guns sold.
Rebecca-never cared for mackerel or sardines. Actually, have been making myself eat more fish last couple of years (my idea was Long John Silvers!). Cook basic tilapia-just fry with lemon pepper, use spray olive oil. I have also developed a taste for salmon. And of course, basic tuna fish.
Karen-thanks for sharing the video. I am working at getting back in shape for that-some days I do need to hold on to something getting up.
Allie-I do hope they get some help for Carmine. He seems to be really struggling.
Still need some more active minutes for the day. Steps, stand and move looking good-having to go to other building several times a day helps on that. Will get indoor walk again this evening-don't want to over do yet and if I go outside I will increase too quickly. Think I will take inspiration from Annie and carry my two pound weights while walking.

A residential program wouldn't be covered by Kyles insurance.
Tracy bent over backwards last weekend for Carmine took them to trampoline park had pizza and ice cream cake took him to a friends house ,went to pick him up at 9,all the kids hanging in the basement no outside light on,and Carmines phone is dead do you think he would do anything to contact Tracy?
Some other parents were showing up and kids were coming out so she asked one of them to get Carmine
And not a thank you at all for any of it..
Had an in school suspension today.. there is just no dealing with him..
Herr is hoping the meds help a little bit at least
