My brother sent this to me about my SIL Terry. So proud of her. The picture of her is in her twenties she does look much different today. She had the chance to go to the Olympics in the 60's, but lost her only brother about the time of the tryouts.
No the young man is not my brother.
Thank you for the wonderful tribute. I can attest to the fact that she loved every minute of it!❤️❤️

HAPPY RETIREMENT!
Please help us wish the very best for Dr. Terry Varney Freerks, who will be retiring from CSP at the end of this week after years of dedication. She has been with CSP since she was a tot in 1957! She started off as a CSP swimmer (still with Age Group records), moved to become a Head Coach, then Executive Director and Executive Director Emeritus. Terry has coached Junior and Senior Nationals Finalists along with Olympic Trial Qualifiers. Her love for the water and swimming has never tired, as you can still find her with a smile on her face, moving gracefully through the water at any given CSP Masters’ practice. In 2008, Terry was inducted into the 2008 Ozark Swimming Hall of Fame.
As a swimmer, Terry was a Collegiate All American, Masters All American, Age Group and Masters National Record Holder, Junior National, Senior National, and Olympic Trial Qualifier.
On behalf of the coaching staff (and swimmers) having been with Terry for a large portion of her incredible ride with CSP, we cannot say enough about the quality of her character and the example of commitment that she has shown us and brought into our lives. We always knew we were in good hands. We had not only an outstanding mentor, but a great advocate and friend. Terry was patient, understanding and sensitive to our needs. Quick to help solve an issue, laugh at a simple mishap, or give you an ear, she was always available. Through her hard work and professionalism, Terry inspires us to pursue excellence and passion to the sport, coaching and CSP.
We will miss her wisdom and guidance. Thankfully, we will still have her friendship and we will most definitely continue to see her on the pool deck.
Terry, we want to thank you for all that you have done for us, the community, the team, the parents, the swimmers and alumni, as well as, the future little CSP hands and feet that will learn to love the water as you do. You have and will forever, make a huge impact on the lives of so many, and we are genuinely grateful.
May you enjoy your retirement, Terry. We hope you and Stan get to travel, and do everything you dreamed about doing. We are so happy for you!7 -

2. Notice three things you find beautiful in the outside world. The blue water of Lea Lake, Snow on the mountains at a distance, walking a nature trail. All at Bottomless Lakes State Park.
3. Start today by appreciating your body and that you are alive. I am healthy and above ground. I can walk, talk, hear, see, taste, and smell (mostly). I appreciate that I alive and have a healthy body.
4. Notice how you speak to yourself and choose to use kind words. I will try…
5. Bring to mind people you care about and send love to them. I sent texts to my long distance friends to send them love.
6. Have a ‘no plans’ day and notice how that feels. Most days are like that for me. So much less stress!
7. Take three calm breaths at regular intervals during your day. Sounds like a plan.
8. Eat mindfully. Appreciate the taste, texture and smell of your food. Started at breakfast.
9. Take a full breath in and out before you reply to others. I will need to keep this in the front of my mind all day.
10. Get outside and notice how the weather feels on your face. Every day!
11. Stay fully present while drinking your cup of tea or coffee. In the process of doing that right now!
12. Listen deeply to someone and really hear what they are saying. I will have to really try to get this done today.
13. Pause to watch the sky or clouds for a few minutes today. I love doing this!
14. Find ways to enjoy any chores or tasks that you do. I made a necessary task to go for a liver scan enjoyable by buying lunch for myself for a change.
15. Stop. Breathe. Notice. Repeat regularly. I really need to do this today! Didn’t remember to do this.
16. Get really absorbed with an interesting or creative activity. I have stones to paint. Will be distributing along the trails in exchange for free peddle boat and paddle board rentals. Didn’t do this. Too windy out. I colored instead.
17. Look around and spot three thing you find unusual or pleasant. Will do. 1. Lady wanting us to cut a lock off of her propane tank. 2. The rock formations around the park. 3. The lake surface when wind blows over it.

The guns sold for half of what he wanted, but I convinced him in front of the dealer that we don’t go shoot them for target practice, that in fact, one was never shot at all. We didn’t need them. I didn’t care about the price, I just wanted them out. SUCCESS! Next, he has an ammo box we need to sell the bullet out of. There is some more cash. The goal is to save up for new camper tires to move out of this park. We’ve been here almost 6 years now and with the new ‘so-called management’ we have (which we have a very low opinion of) we need to move.
I have my old Windows laptop for sale for $150 and will clean my MacBook Pro and sell that to for about $100. I have reset the Windows laptop to factory settings and will do the MacBook next. I listed it yesterday and already have 2 offers. If any of you want one of these, let me know!

Karen and Machka thanks for sharing the videos on getting up and down off of the floor! My MIL has fallen several times and has had to wait for help to come to get up off of the floor. It’s not easy to get people up from that position if they have no strength to help. I’m going to start having my husband do those exercises with me since he has great difficulty. He has Parkinson’s like symptoms. I will eventually be his caregiver so maybe if we start now I will have less difficulty helping him later in life.

Rain AGAIN today(with more tomorrow)
Had lots of exercise yesterday-81min walking the wetlands and it was AMAZING, then an hour of zumba last night, finishing out my day at just over 20,000steps/9miles. Then, after all that, I had trouble sleeping. Did fall asleep after my kitten came and snuggled under my chin.
No exercise today.
Started my day at the dentist again- hoping this is the last time to get the buildup done on the back of the tooth I broke. Rained all day, including while we stood out waiting for the kids to get out of school(and of course they got out late again)
Dh goes to work at midnight tonight(only day of the week he will be working again)then going straight to his mom's when he gets done so I won't get woken up at 7;30 which I am so looking forward to.
Just heard that Destiny will be having her surgery tomorrow to have her leg amputated. She really needs all the prayers she can get.
Debbie
I am praying Destiny’s surgery goes well and she adjusts quickly. My son’s 38 YO best friend had his leg amputated due to a diabetic issue and he was on a motorcycle a week after!!! That guy was determined. He still gets around as best he can like nothing happened! Strong man!
The dentist adventures I read about crowns, root canals, etc are why I simply have them pulled. One and done! That may not be for everyone, but I have had a partial plate since I was 18 so it is no big deal to just add another tooth to the plate. No more pain, insurance pays 100%, and one and done.

I know , I remember being his age yes Carmine is Taliah born a female, and will not have surgery.
Yes Machka very hormonal to say the least and just turned 15..
It is rough to say the least..
Im trying to look up places and can't find anything..
They don't have any savings and are flying by the seat of there pants..
I wish I could help more, but I did my child rearing and I wouldn't take on a teenager with 10 ft pole

29. Choose a different route today and see what you notice. Will drive to the Elks the “back way.”
Tuesday added dumbbells to PT and got the dogs down to the powerline meadow for the first time in two weeks. Felt good. Got all my RMD questions answered so was able to file tax returns. Looking forward to nice refunds, makes all that withholding worthwhile
Heather “. . . because it enables me to do all the things I want to do . . .” That’s why I do PT exercises and stretches daily-ish. Makes all the difference in how I can enjoy my life NOW.
Welcome @anitanap2 !
Katla, your very merry un-birthday presents made my heart happy.
Kim thanks to your alert, I’ve noticed another bad habit of mine, using my hands/arms to ease down onto chairs. When I catch myself I cross my arms over my chest but it’s gonna take a while to break this longstanding practice. Yours to Rebecca, with or without the eyes .
Beth all that picking up of sticks has got to be good for you as well as the yard.
Annie not just your scale but your cardiovascular system and probably measurements will know too. Well done!
Ginny thank you for yours to Allie about Carmine, and for all you do to keep children, even the difficult ones, safe.
Debbie prayer said for Destiny, her medical team and her family. May this be the healing step.
Karen, likewise thank you for yours to Allie and the How to Stand From the Floor. . . video. ((hugs)) Today will be better.
Terri How do you feel about Friday? Praying you get the relief and healing you’ve awaited so very long.

Machka love the “slowly enfold it in a careful embrace” meme.
Margaret your SIL’s joyful nature shines out from her pictures.
Rita sorry you feel you have to move away from the new management, but VERY grateful your DH agreed to sell the guns. Good luck!
Whoops where did the morning go? Time for PT, shower and line dancing. Hope I can stick it out for at least an hour.

Allie— My mom’s favorite cousin was named Rachel. She wore her hair in a short men’s cut that was called a ducktail back then. Mom took me along with her when she went to visit Rachel & I stayed close to my mom. I was shy. This was in the early 1950’s. Mom & Rachel were good friends. They were grownups. Carmine is young and trying to be her/himself. I suspect it will take time for Carmine to gain self confidence. You are likely a safe-haven for him/her. ❤️

Why is it so hard to lose weight and so easy to gain?? I have been consistent until we saw the grandkids then had a slightly higher intake. OK, s’mores, Coke, and donuts! However I did still lose .4 pounds 😳 this week.
Question has anyone on here used or have known anybody to use Frankincense, and or Aspero to improve cognitive function? Supposedly Aspero can rebuild and improve brain function. I saw it on Facebook today. Then I did a little research. I thought that if it works, it may improve neurological issues like Parkinson’s. I read that it improves symptoms in people that have Alzheimer’s and dementia. Machka it may help with your husband’s brain injury. Remember big Pharma does not want people to use natural remedies.

Dh eats his mackerel over rice with a little furikake.
I eat sardines on crackers- nothing fancy.
I think the tomato based mackerel I will mix with cold, cooked pasta and olives, then the olive oil based, I will have with my rice, or put in my Vietnamese rice paper rolls with rice and avocado.👍🏻 iI normally drain the oil off anyway. Is furikake the sprinkles in different flavors, seaweed, etc?

Yes- haha- Sprinkles is what my son used to always call it. He had to have sprinkles on his rice.
I use a lot of that, not only on rice(if I eat rice, I too have to have "sprinkles" on it- can't eat plain sticky rice. I also put furikaki on steamed veggies or when I make the tomatoes/cucumbers w/rice vinegar.

Terri - Very best wishes for your procedure. I know you must be nervous about the amount of time in hospital.
Margaret - Such a great tribute.
My friend G wasn't feeling in the best form today, but we had a pleasant lunch. She didn't hang around afterwards, so I went to the pottery place and booked our next painting session. The sausage shop was shut, so I went off to M&S. Suddenly felt very dizzy. Too much to eat, lack of sleep, lunchtime wine, and a very aching back and hips. Had to sit down in the shoe department! Then, at the food checkout, I felt very faint. Found a chair.
Fortunately, the bus stop is just across the road, so got home OK. DH made me a cup of tea. G got home and went straight to bed! Two old crocks!
I've eaten DH 's chicken soup, but don't feel great.
Tomorrow I've signed up for a Zoom session with Saga, in order to earn £100 in retail vouchers. It's about energy, exercise and nutrition levels. Always happy to get a little money for not much effort! I said I wanted to talk about sleep and energy. I hope the vouchers are for somewhere decent.
Quiet evening ahead. Still not right. Hope it wears off. Headache.

He hates the school he is at,but its a technical high school, but we all went to Portland high school and it got us nowhere. And Tracy wont let him go back there.
He just doesn't know what he wants..
His pediatrician prescribed the celexa.
my son HATED school in middle school and high school. I really didn't know if we would all make it through those years intact. Lots of anger management problems which he took out on me.
He would refuse to get up to get to school on time. Found out he hated his second class so much that his solution was to not get up until that class was over.
I talked with his teachers and found so many that told me they spent more time trying to control their classes than actually teaching. Jona has always been very quiet, not asking for help when he needed it. Even back in second grade he told me he would rather fail than ask for help. Those two issues do NOT work well together. His teachers just said, we didn't know he needed help, he didnt come to us and ASK.
We ended up pulling him from the school and did independent studies. He did his work at home online and went to meet with his teacher once a week. Yes, we did have a few problems with him going that day in the beginning but the teacher really got to know him and found things Jona was really interested in. He was taking classes that would usually be at the junior college(NEVER at his regular high school) and he went from being three or four semesters behind to graduating less than one semester behind. He really loved the classes he took.
I know this is not the best solution for all kids but I am so glad we found it for ours.
Yes, he does have a little anger management issues but only rarely and they are never towards me. They also aren't as severe or as long.
I took the brunt of most of it and didn't let dh know about them because he also has the same anger problems. He either wasn't involved at all or he came in, over the top where I had to break them up.

Well I made it to the start of page 87. I will have to start there tomorrow.
Heather: The tandoori Chicken with Raita looks delicious!
Lisa: I wish I knew the annuals from the perennials better! I hope your daughter likes Hawaii. I was able to go there for several weeks and enjoyed it!
Pipcd34: Almost 4 hours of housecleaning! Good for you! I don't have that kind of attention span!!!
Annie: You do so well with your calorie count!!! I do fairly well...but not today...today I got Crystal cheeseburgers and was fairly hungry!!!
Kim: A free massage!! That's great!! I know how stressful caregiving can be! A massage is great!!!
Katla: We took a trip to the North GA Mountains and the porch had hummingbird feeders. My husband could hardly walk at this point but we really enjoyed the hummingbirds!
Kylia: I have done what that woman was probably doing...leaving the house and going off and crying in the car. I wonder if she is a local person and if you will see her again.
Jeannie: Glad you had a good day on the Saturday you volunteered. I am also going to be doing some volunteering.
Fanncy0626: I am glad you are now able to work on getting back into shape. It isn't easy!!!
Beth: Good for you....getting back on the exercise equipment!!!
Mary: I love the picture of the grandchildren and the ducks!!!
Machka: Sorry your husband got stung by angry bees!! Glad he is okay!!
Lanette: I hope you found the squirrel or whatever was in the shop attic!!
RVRita: Good your husband sold the hand guns. It is the safest thing at this time!!!
Well I have been to the animal rescue the last 2 mornings. I worked in the cat house which had flooded from all the rain. I mopped the floor 2x and worked with the kitty litter. The people are nice and the cats are very pretty. They look at me but do not come to me. They are mostly strays and are not socialized as of yet. I haven't tried to touch one yet but hope to get the courage to do so. I am surprisingly sore from this. There is a lot of squatting and bending over. The squats have made my legs sore. It is good to be out and this does take my mind off all the caregiving that I did.
I miss my husband. He was my biggest cheer leader and I wish I could tell him about the volunteering.
Best,
