I am not sure who mentioned the books "How not to die" and "How not to diet" by the same authors. I think they were on this challenge. I just want to say that I ordered it with the hopes that it has ideas to use food to improve my overall health.

In the meantime, I am still in the middle of 5 books including "The case for Keto".

Hi @deepwoodslady , I'm reading both right now too! Both Keto and WFPB have plenty of benefits that, IMO, comes down to removing ultra-processed foods from our diets. Anything that helps me not to return to the standard American diet and order a pizza delivery every weekend is good for my overall health :) I'm finding the WFPB to be the approach that seems to be fitting me best and the argument that I needed to not bring dairy back into my life. I'm actually interested in trying a keto WFPB diet sometime soon because I'm wondering if the main reason I could never feel great on keto was because of too much dairy. That'll be an interesting experiment.

A really gentle but effective way of relieving TMI is to take 1-2 tsps of Epson salt (pure not scented). It pulls water into the intestines. If it doesn’t work after 6 hours do it again.

It will create a gentle but irresistible urge so don’t stray too far from a toilet!

I wish I could be normal. LOL this has been a life long problem for me. I think I’m going to go back to last month and look over my foods, bc it seemed to be a lot better then. But I’m down for trying epson salt! I work from home tomorrow so that sounds like a plan to me! Thanks 😊

He has a lot of videos on YouTube. I listen to his podcast when I drive. There’s a ton of info on this website as well. I need to read his books as well. When I can squeeze another 5 minutes into my day. 😊

@shmmm3 You may know already that I don't eat fruit AT ALL and I hate 99.9% of all veggies and don't eat most of them. I did hate 100% of them (except potatoes) but through Keto I have learned to "sneak" in a few in various ways. Plant based is not something I could ever do completely for sure. At times, I have come to the conclusion that I am lactose intolerant. I've never had that diagnosis or discussed it with a doctor, but the bloating can be horrendous. I do buy Fairlife milk (lactose free) and I do spread my cheese products out a bit in my diet to help. Anyway, all the different approaches fascinate me, and knowledge is ALWAYS power so I can't wait to get these books. I'll make them next on my list when I finish at least one of the 5 I am currently reading lol.

    64 yr young F, 5ft 4 Round 219 (my 150th). As always, thank you. @QuiltingJaine you are a star!
Starting this round at the same weight as last. Goal for this round; I really need to continue to reverse this increasing trend, again I'm not looking at a specific number, any loss and keep my binge free streak going, keep that April Fool’s dunce’s hat in the corner! – be mindful when I’m tempted! Keep within calories & macros. I can do this but, consistency is paramount, let’s do it for just 10 days as the reward is great!!
Achieved goal weigh of 125lb in summer 2016 by losing 66lb and then gradually gained between 7 and 11 since then & didn't want to gain any more, It’s taken me 75 rounds to achieve my under 130 target; back to maintenance again!! But then I crept up again, so need to get back to around 130. A healthy lifestyle has to be a permanent way of life.

    SW RND 219 139.8

4/2 139.8 – 8.6 miles walked. Starting this round at the same weight as last. Want to try to be at a lower number by the end ! Good food day yesterday, stuck to pre-logged plan again. Feeling better physically & mentally, just a couple of pounds makes such a difference!
4/3 139.8 – 12.69 miles walked, pre-logging first thing worked again for me. Hoping the scale will start going down soon.
4/4 139.4 – 9.7 miles walked, hungry yesterday; all exercise calories eaten back.
4/5 140.4 – 8..04, ate late last night at an Indian restaurant with friends, just had to guess at calories, but expected sodium overload, drank a pint of water before bed & still woke up with a ranging thirst in the early hours! Had eaten light earlier on in the week to compensate.

    100-day Binge-free Challenge starting March 31….=1 day.
    ⭐️= 5 days ****

4/6 140.4 – 6.11 miles walked; lots of other commitments. Not a good eating day, a mini binge.

@renepink11 I too was chronically constipated, which lead to permanent hemorrhoid issues (could put a description in a spoiler if you want). I am on miralax "for life" according to my colorectal surgeon. I do no start a day without a scoop of miralax in my morning coffee. I do do other things as well that keep me regular.

@RenaPink11 Yes, it occurred to me last night that I haven’t taken any of my supplements in 4 days and magnesium citrate is one of them. If I weren’t so lazy I would fill my pill boxes. I do 8 weeks at a time when I do them.

@LisaPower123 Epsom salts are also magnesium. I’ve even read that soaking in a bath with then, magnesium is absorbed by your body.

@shmmm3 I DO love my cheese and heavy cream but I seem to have the best results when I eat carnivore. Beef is my favorite - even as a kid on the rare occasion of a family trip, I wanted a hamburger for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Now I skip the bun because I know it messes with my appetite. Even eating too many of the good veggies (low carb) will cause me to not lose. My faves are asparagus, Brussels sprouts, cauliflower, and spinach.

I use to put miralax in my coffee every morning too. I think I will go back to that bc it did help. Yes, I am now experiencing hemorrhoid issues that started about a year ago. For whatever reason, I stopped the miralax and when I changed my foods, it seemed to get better but not permanently. I go next month for a colonoscopy so I'm wondering if they will say anything. I feel like part of the reason I don't go daily is bc of hemorrhoids blocking the exit!
