@tarun_yadavA good plan to alternate days for a bit if you're feeling some twinges.
@ScienceofTeaching Ooooo, getting out of bed the first day of vacation is tough. Get it done though. You'll be so happy you did!4 -
June total: 16.2/100 miles
6/1: 10 miles

Another quick pre-work run this morning. The sunrise was really pretty this morning even if the weather wasn't.
1 more week until vacation!! I'm so ready.5 -

A solid treadmill jog this morning. Felt really good after.

@Scott6255 and @chris_in_cal - Yay for 1963! A good year to be born. Happy belated 60th, @chris_in_cal. I'll join you in August.
Dreadful week at home, so no running or walking to report yet.6 -
Got a HM done this morning while the fam was still sleeping. Apparently this is the longest run in 3 months. I knew I haven't done a HM in over a month, but didn't realize it was 3 months. Been really slacking I guess 😉

Thanks for the encouragement, @martaindale! You're right - I am happy that I made myself go out!
Did 1 mile of run/walk intervals, then decided I'd better not overdo it and did the 2nd mile as just walking. I felt like I could have run more, but since it was my first time running since getting sick in April, I decided to play it safe.5 -
6/1 - 4 miles
6/3 - 4.5 mile
June Total: 8.5/75 miles completed5 -
June Goal: 105 Miles
6/1: 6.25 miles
6/3: 10.25 miles
16.50/105 miles completed for June
There's a chance of thunderstorms in the morning, so I decided to do my long run today. It was warm, but not too bad for June. I ran 10.25 miles. It was 64°F at the start and 74° F at the end. The breeze was nice though and I enjoyed it.
Happy Belated Birthday @chris_in_cal!
Hope you feel better soon @Summerskier. That is a beautiful sunrise.

@tarun_yadavA You are being very patient to make sure it's all better. Hang in there.
@ScienceofTeaching Getting out the door is often the hardest part of a run. Glad you did it and smart to take it easy. There is the saying that the only run you regret is the one you don't do.
Oh yeah @Scott6255 , You're a horrible slacker! Great job on the HM distance today.
Great running everyone.3 -
June 1: Walk = 2.00 miles - trip to Hot Springs
June 2: Wun/Walk = 2.00 miles - also mowed mom's lawn
June 3: Walk = 2.00 miles - also mowed my lawn
6.00/80 mile goal
I had some minor tummy issues this morning, so didn't get a run in early. I was feeling better by noon, so I went out and mowed my yard. I push mowed it all, weed eat where needed, and used the leaf blower. I did take a couple of breaks in there. Total time spend on the yard was 1h44m22s.
After I finished and was cooling, mom called. She is having some issues with her water. She has a well and a tank. If the tank gets empty, it has to be primed again and we don't know how to do it. Our neighbor does, but he isn't home today. So, I took her some water that she can use for flushing the toilet. She had some to drink in the fridge. The neighbor will hopefully get home in time tonight to fix it (if that is the issue).
When I got back home, I went down and did a 2 mile walk on the treadmill. I was so tempted to not do it - or do only one mile. But, I sucked it up.6 -
@quilteryoyo oh dear. Sorry to hear your mother has no water... Hope it's resolved now?1
-
Thanks @tarun_yadavA . Not yet. The neighbor didn't get there until 9:45 pm, so she told him to just wait until today, after we get home from church. I hope it is a simple fix once he looks at it.1

This morning MFP said I have logged in for 2190 days in a row. That's 6 years!11

@Scott6255 nice streak!
@quilteryoyo I hope the water issue is quickly resolved today!
I had a busy weekend so didn't do any extra walking. Friday I actually had a bit of an LC-crash and was in bed all day. I was happy that it only lasted the one day, and I was able to function almost like a normal person on Saturday. We hosted a church barbecue in our backyard, and while I didn't have to prepare any food and my husband did most of the work, there was some setting up to do, and being present at the actual event. It went very well. I even made it to church today, but had to come straight home to relax afterwards. Maybe there's been progress... of course I'm afraid to even say that, because then I hit the next downhill on the rollercoaster... and as many of you know, rollercoasters tend to end up right back where they started, over and over again 😆 with some craziness in-between. 🎢 Guess I might as well throw my hands up in the air and enjoy the ride?8 -
June total: 19.5/100 miles
6/1: 10 miles
6/2: 3.1 miles
6/3: 3.1 miles
6/4: 3.3 miles
Treadmill miles today. Time to shift further into my summer routine. Last summer I settled on sleeping in a little on Sunday then running on the treadmill. It gave my body a break from tough summer conditions and let me have a day every week where I wasn't waking up to an alarm. I've been trying to get outside as we hung onto the last coolish mornings, but those are gone so might as well get a little extra sleep!6 -
@Scott6255 Wow! 6 years is quite a streak. Mega consistency!
@ScienceofTeaching So glad you were able to get yourself out the door! We all have those days where we just have to do it anyway. Way to build up the habit!2 -
-
@Scott6255 Amazing streak. I'd love to hear your insights about logging every day.
@quilteryoyo Is your mom's water issue resolved?
My daughter had a yoga class today, so I took the time to go for a short run. Didn't want to go too many days without running.

Hi everyone!
Unfortunately, I haven’t been able run these past days because of the pinched nerve in my upper back. Luckily I only had to spend 1 day completely in bed unable to move, even unable to help the kids. I am still feeling some restriction of movement, even with high doses of ibuprofen, but want to carefully try working out at the gym tomorrow. I am not certain running is in the cards yet because of all the repetitive shoulder/arm movement and downward impact. I want to go the @tarun_yadavA route and give my body some proper time to heal. Fingers crossed that I can find some sort of lower body cardio that doesn’t engage my back. I was thinking cycling and some light weights…. So much for my lofty June mileage goal . Oh well !
@quilteryoyo I hope your mom got her water issue fixed! It must be hard not to have running water!
@martaindale That sounds like a good plan to give your body some time to workout without the addition of the heat. Where I live, no one has air conditioning- so if we have a heat wave even going to the gym is hard/impossible. Windows open and tough it out if you can. It really zaps all your energy.
@scott6255 Way to go! 6 years is a good streak! Keep it up!6 -
