Took a new hike yesterday that we have been meaning to try. Took the trail from Hurd State Park to Higganum Meadows. We hike at Hurd State Park a lot - but never took this trail. It was a little shorter than we usually walk, but a lot of up and down - elevation change 167 feet - didn't see a soul, so Monty got some off leash time.

I overindulged in cookies and birthday cake though and tonight we’re having a work dinner at a restaurant in Ann Arbor. I just have to keep it in check. No alcohol tonight since I’m such a light weight with drinks and I have a 45-60 minute drive home. Plus, alcohol makes me sleepy. Happy Monday!

I am catching up on everyone's journey these past few days. It's been a busy couple of days for me with many doctor's appointments for the whole family, moving furniture, trying to apply for Unemployment while looking for a new job, and then starting PT.

@joans1976 - Thinking of you. I have had a few months too where I cannot find the groove. There are things going on the inside of us with medications and healing that we are unaware of which takes its toll. Keep continuing to check in when you can and things will change one day. Hugs!

I have a lot of reading to do to get caught up on myfitnesspal, but I am back. I am three days late as it is Thursday, not Monday, but better late than never, as they say. I was overwhelmed with what I had to do to get the house ready for Father's Day (10 people for a barbecue) and when I am overwhelmed at home I eat. It's not what I need to do but I need to be doing something, so I eat. This very effective avoidance technique is EXACTLY the reason I am in this overweight, excuse me, Obese, boat! Going to a wedding shower on Saturday and getting out of my routine was a small part of it, and also my knee still being really sore, but it was predominantly my feeling of mental overload that did me in. And once started down that road it is very, very difficult to make a u-turn. And just for context, it was completely my idea to host this gathering. My dad is 87 and in a retirement home for just over a year. Mom passed away in November and Dad is so bored. He still drives, but he has nowhere to go. I needed to get him out of there and when my sister wasn't considering hosting something at her house, but visiting him instead, I took the bull by the horns.

And I agree with you about the 80's being the "fun" years. I started high school in 1980 and graduated from university in 1990, so the whole decade had some fun times, and some late nights, studying!

I’ll try pushing water today again. I had my truck repair appointment out-of-town at the dealership wrong. It wasn’t Monday, it is tomorrow. Luckily my daughter has her head on straight and we didn’t go. LOL. Today I take my teen grandson’s for their haircuts at my salon. Lunch afterwards. Since I’ll be out of town tomorrow for that 7 hour repair and 3 hour total drive, I’ll skip lunch today and just watch them eat.
06/22-DNW-(Trend Weight DNW)- I traveled today for the truck repairs. I hit the coffee hard before I remembered to weigh and didn’t have any time to post before travel. It’s been a long day. Tomorrow’s scale will likely be a morale zapper as it is usually up after travel. I may skip weighing and just check in as I’ve found that looking doesn’t change anything. It may even make it worse. So we will see.

The old me would say - "You go off your diet one day and you gain it all back; why bother"; the new me says "Let's hit the next fitbit badge today to make up for it". Woke up early - got a mile on the treadmill. Hoping I can beat my "best in a day" today and get that next badge.
Jun 11 - 192.8 😁 Well got that badge yesterday; 25,789 steps! My goal is to only use 1/2 of calories gained by exercise, did that. Drank all my water. I also rmet the 1,000 miles in 2023 milestone. I will be over halfway there today. So, I took a smile today. Somethings gotta happen! Maybe there will be a big swish tomorrow.

Jun 17 - 191 - Well is was a short stay, but hoping to relocate there for a longer stay this week! It is what I expected, so not disappointed. Had a wonderful day visiting my old work friends. They are all still there; reminded me how fortunate I am to have retired (they ciomplained a lot - LOL). Then had a nice dinner with my daughter and hubby. He decided he wanted to eat in, get pizza. She made a great dessert. I did stay within my calorie limit all day, but the sodium levels from lunch and pizza werre off the charts. Out for breakfast this morning to Hubby's favorite breakfast spot, then I'm back to the grindstone.

Don't get me wrong, the 1990s were good years (that's when my daughter was born), but the 80s were fun times (my twenty years).
Jun 22 - DWN -Don't Wanna Know! Trivia night last night, was under my calorie range for the day, but the salt from the pizza! We tied for first place, but lost the tie breaker so got second. I don't have any othre committments or distractions until our trip, so time to focus, focus, focus.

Luckily it was all hands on deck with the puppies. My son had to carry Nova outside over the roof debris to use the bathroom. She’s getting so big!!

I overindulged in cookies and birthday cake though and tonight we’re having a work dinner at a restaurant in Ann Arbor. I just have to keep it in check. No alcohol tonight since I’m such a light weight with drinks and I have a 45-60 minute drive home. Plus, alcohol makes me sleepy. Happy Monday!

We went to the Van Gogh exhibit here in town https://www.beyondvangogh.com/ and had a wonderful experience. We went out to eat after and then came back and enjoyed our pool. I was over my calories for the day but not by much. If you have a chance to do the exhibit I would recommend it!3 -
