Relentless mindset in achieving goals, adjust and adapt along the way, celebrate victories enthusiastically!

In August of 2022, I made the decision to lose weight and focus on my overall health. I was overwhelmed at this seemingly impossible task. So, I did what Desmond Tutu once said about eating an elephant…you eat it one bite at a time. So, I made daily micro goals to make it easier to achieve my overall goal.

My daily micro goals:
• 1,780 total calories - religiously logged in MyFitnessPal
• Pruvit powdered ketones
• Small salad for lunch from Salata (370 calories)
• Snacks at work (peanuts 170 calories or popcorn 120 calories)
• Dinner less than 1,000 calories before 6pm
• 30 minute walk outside at night

My updated bloodwork. 8/2022 to 8/2023
• Total Cholesterol down 15%
• Triglycerides down 37%
• LDL down 23%
• Glucose down 18%
• A1C down 12%
• Increased HDL 17%.
• High blood pressure meds were reduced by half

Daily Medicine/Supplements:
• Whole Food Multi-vitamin with no iron
• Nature’s Made High Absorption Magnesium Glycinate 200mg x 2 daily
• Losartan-HCTZ 12.5mg
• Amlodipine Besylate 10mg
• Digestive Advantage Daily Probiotics

    Nicely done.
I am losing about 1.5/week but I am at 2k calories. If I go below that ATM I really struggle. But I just started in July when I got my diabetes diagnosis. Since I started all this I am down 17 lbs. So far so good. I also found your post to be very motivating because we're the same age and it makes me happy to see people my age succeeding.

Congratulations, job well done :) I started my journey seriously on the 24th of July, I have 140 lbs to lose but like you, I am taking it 1lb at a time. So far I have lost 15 lbs and I am very happy. At 58 years old, I know it is going to be an uphill struggle, but having given up smoking after 40 years, I am confident that I can achieve it, your post is inspirational, so thank you.
