10/15-187.0-(Trend Weight 186.6)- One perfect day with just a couple of evening gifted goodies can do so much more damage that I ever imaged. Iโ€™m sure the glycogen has refilled in my liver and I am experiencing that water increase in my body, among other things. Yesterday was picture perfect. I just need to remember that the body has itโ€™s processes and this too shall pass. I am also still having some TMI issues that Iโ€™m sure is not helping. It will all work itself out. I just have to stay diligent and committed.

10/16-184.6-(Trend Weight 186.4)- A successful day yesterday which showed up on the scale this morning. TMI good, shed lots of water and bloat and raked yard for 3+ hours burning lots of extra calories. Diet was on point. I am planning another good day with more raking and yard work to complete the fall cleanup hopefully. This should continue to work the scale back down.

I need to figure out how to best organize my posts...I can't find them to copy/paste previous posts. Ugh. Anyway, I'm weighing in weekly. At 235 today, down from 239 at the.1st of the month. Progress is progress. ๐Ÿ™‚๐Ÿ™ƒ

I do mine in my notes app, and then copy paste into this thread. It works great!

    @StirredIntention brilliant idea!! Thanks!!

Hi, I'm a 50 yo married female, 5'6", and tired of looking and feeling like I do. Iโ€™m making changes to get out of the Obese category, to look good in my clothing, and to have confidence in public again.

Heaviest Weight: 221 | Ultimate Goal Weight: 165
    Starting Weight Aug 2023: 212.7 | Sep 2023: 207.1 |

    October Goals:
    Lose 2 lbs. | Consistently log food | Bike &/or Treadmill 4 days a week | Aim for 7 hours sleep/day

    Oct 1: 205.5
Oct 2: 206.4 - A bit more sodium yesterday, and a piece of Naan. It was good, I'm just paying for it.
Oct 3: 205.4 - Going to try a different workout, and focus on me today.
    Oct 4: 204.9
    Oct 5: 204.6
Oct 6: 205.4 - Sodium up last night, but this will go down again. Feeling good overall.
    Oct 7: 204.9
Oct 8: 204.0 - I expected 2 lbs up this morning, so that might hit tomorrow. We splurged a bit yesterday.
    Oct 9: 205.4 - Yup.
Oct 10: 206.1 - Ugh. I have been off my exercise game lately. Definitely time to get moving.
    Oct 11: 205.4
Oct 12: 205.1 - I am prioritizing the workouts this week. I want this number to go down.
    Oct 13: 205.6
Oct 14: 207.1 - I even waited a couple more hours before coffee/meds to weigh myself, hoping sleep would trim this down. But no. Salty yummy food, I love you, and I hate you.
Oct 15: 207.8 - This morning I definitely about threw the scale. Some of this is week-before-cycle bloat (clothes are tight when they were great 2 days ago). Some I assume is still sodium related. The rest is that I dared stray from eating salad and chicken and the 10 foods I eat all the time. Tomorrow I will 100% be back on plan. Today I'm giving myself a damn break. I'm grumpy. I'm tired.
Oct 16: 208.9 - This has to be water retention. I even worked out yesterday.

Hello I'm Darlene and have been with this group for a few months now; my favorite support group on MFP. Retired, 63-year-old. Married (Greg), one adult daughter (Allyson), and one goldendoodle (Monty).

    My goals for October๐Ÿ‚ :
Lose 4 pounds (always my goal) - BUT I am only 6 pounds away from getting out of the obese category - so setting a stretch goal to get there by the end of the month. Usually if I announce something I do it so . . . .. fingers crossed. โš–๏ธ
Hit my orignal 1,960 mile goal. I am on a mission to get 2,023 miles in 2023, when I first started my goal was 1,960 - a good year. When I realized that I would achieve this early changed it to 2,023. ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™‚๏ธ
    17K Steps daily ๐Ÿ‘ฃ
Drink 6-8 Glasses of Water Daily ๐Ÿ’ฆ
    Strength Train 3 days a week ๐Ÿ’ช
Tai Chi or Some Stretching exercise 1 day a week ๐Ÿง˜
    Log daily ๐Ÿ“
Stay under my calorie range ๐Ÿฅ—

Oct 3: 173.4 ๐Ÿ‘ฃ๐Ÿ’ฆ๐Ÿ“๐Ÿฅ— ๐Ÿ“– ๐Ÿ–๏ธ ๐ŸŽฎ The Hogwarts challenge that I am in has an assignment this week to run/jog for 20 minutes. It doesn't have to be in one session. Years ago, I did the Couch to 5K and jogged a 5k on my 50th birthday (a time when I was almost at my goal weight). I thought about doing that again, but when I tried earlier this year my knees couldn't take it. I thought I would try again when I lost 60 pounds - I'm not quite at 60, but close - I guess this was a sign that I should try again. Yesterday I did day one, and it was fun. Keeping my fingers crossed because I really did love it.

Oct 8: 172.6 ๐Ÿ‘ฃ๐Ÿ’ฆ๐Ÿ’ช ๐Ÿ“๐Ÿฅ— ๐ŸŽฎ Happy with that - went out for a nice lunch, had a couple beers - it might be a day lag for the uptick - but happy that it stayed the same today.
Oct 9: ๐Ÿ˜ 172 ๐Ÿ‘ฃ๐Ÿ’ฆ๐Ÿ“๐Ÿฅ— ๐Ÿ“– ๐Ÿงถ ๐Ÿ–๏ธ๐ŸŽฎ Not a very good night sleep - couldn't fall asleep so go back up - read, knitted, played games on my phone - finally went to bed at 3:00AM, and back up 6:00AM. It's bingo night with Mom tonight so up later than usual - thinking I'll need to take a nap today - we'll see how that plays out on the scale tomorrow.
Oct 10: 172 ๐Ÿ‘ฃ๐Ÿ’ฆ ๐Ÿ“๐Ÿ“– ๐ŸŽฎ First day in forever I missed my calorie goal. Just a couple 100 over, but over just the same. It is my sister's birthday today - so had cake last night at bingo which put me over the top.
Oct 11: ๐Ÿ˜  173.2 ๐Ÿ‘ฃ๐Ÿ’ฆ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ“๐Ÿฅ— ๐Ÿงถ ๐Ÿ–๏ธ๐ŸŽฎ I guess Monday's overage, lack of sleep, and the fact that I was over on my sodium goal yesterday got me.

Oct 14: ๐Ÿ˜171.6 ๐Ÿ‘ฃ๐Ÿ’ฆ๐Ÿง˜ ๐Ÿ“๐Ÿฅ— ๐Ÿ–๏ธWell that was a nice surprise. It will probably be short lived. Going out to dinner tonight with the whole family. My sister was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in the spring. She has finished her treatment and after surgery and three rounds of chemo - they think they got it all. Going out to celebrate. Going to Japenese Hibachi - am going to figure out this morning how to count it so that I can determine what I can eat for breakfast and lunch. Hoping to still stay under the calorie goal - but am sure the sodium will be over the top.
Oct 15: 173.4 ๐Ÿ‘ฃ๐Ÿ“๐Ÿ“– Won't give myself a sad face - fully expected, but was a great night celebrating. Here is a picture of the family - Unfortunately missing Allyson, we were supposed to go last wekend but my nephew and hubby were still covid positive, so couldn't go. She had a wedding this weekend, so we missed her.
Oct 16: 173.6 ๐Ÿ‘ฃ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ“๐Ÿฅ— ๐Ÿ“– ๐Ÿงถ ๐Ÿ–๏ธ๐ŸŽฎ Ok, now I need to get motivated - been over my sodium goal three days in a row AND two days in a row not drinking the water - gets me every time.

I am planning another good day with more raking and yard work to complete the fall cleanup hopefully. This should continue to work the scale back down.

10/17-185.8-(Trend Weight 186.3)- I ended up going out to dinner after raking literally all day yesterday. I certainly didnโ€™t eat the amount of total calories that I burned including my TDEE. Iโ€™m thinking it is a lot of inflammation because I am truly in a lot of pain from all the work. Iโ€™ve been taking Aleve and it helps the pain. I hope it helps the swelling/inflammation. My poor son (who has been helping) is not even able to walk properly now. We really worked hard. Weโ€™ll see what the scale says tomorrow. Will it whisper or will it roar?

    Starting weight September 1: 141

    Goal weight for October: 132.8

    October 1: 136.2
October 2: 137.0 I logged ๐Ÿ‘ Wow, my weight can really spike up quickly. On Sept 30 I was 134.8. Now 2.2 lbs higher. But this is not a surprise. On Sept 30 my mom took me out to lunch; and the mac & cheese was sooooo bad. I just had to go home and make mac & cheese to go with dinner, the proper way, with all the butter and flour and cream cheese and buttery bread crumb topping. And I ate too much of that mac & cheese. And then yesterday we had a long party with friends, and there was a ton of great food & wine. So I overdid it there. So, now back to the plan. My goal is to get back at daily logging & daily meeting my calorie goal, AND to drink lots of water. Cycle day 1 should be right about now too, so the weight could stay here or go up again. Just going to get back to the plan and try to stick with it from here!

October 9: 135.0 I've been super slack with logging. But I am signed up for my very first 5K tomorrow, so that's exciting. This will be a run/walk for me. For about a month I've been working on it and now I can run up to about 3-4 minutes intermittently with about 1-2 minutes walking, for about 25 minutes. I never believed I could run for 3 minutes straight, so this is a huge improvement. Hopefully I won't wake up sick or something (there is sickness going through the house.)

    October 4: 136.8 I logged ๐Ÿ‘
    October 5: 135.2
    October 6: DNW
October 7: 135.2 Had crazy crazy days both Thursday and Friday...

    October 15: 137.0
    October 16: 136.4
    October 17: 136.4
October 18: 135.6 Could be worse, considering I haven't been logging and I keep eating too much. I keep getting hungry and eating over my calorie goal, and then I just throw in the towel. My goal for the rest of the month is to stop with that perfectionism and to keep logging even if I'm going to be way over on calories. Also, more protein in the early afternoon might help with my afternoon cravings.

10/18-185.8-(Trend Weight 186.3)- Well I spent all afternoon until dark burning leaves. Lots of small-time raking into the firepit and raking to adjust piles but nothing like when we actually raked the yard. I did very well with my diet but had a forbidden snack last night that I should not have wanted or needed. I will be out burning again today until dark especially since rain is expected overnight and all day tomorrow. I will not nearly finish today. That will take many more dry days, but I will get as much done as possible. In the meantime, the house is piling up and nothing else is getting done. When I figure out how a person can be in two places at one time, Iโ€™ll let you all know.

    October 3: 137.0 I logged ๐Ÿ‘
    October 4: 136.8 I logged ๐Ÿ‘
    October 5: 135.2
    October 6: DNW
October 7: 135.2 Had crazy crazy days both Thursday and Friday...
    October 8: 134.8
October 9: 135.0 I've been super slack with logging. But I am signed up for my very first 5K tomorrow, so that's exciting. This will be a run/walk for me. For about a month I've been working on it and now I can run up to about 3-4 minutes intermittently with about 1-2 minutes walking, for about 25 minutes. I never believed I could run for 3 minutes straight, so this is a huge improvement. Hopefully I won't wake up sick or something (there is sickness going through the house.)
    October 10: 134.4 I logged ๐Ÿ‘
    October 11: 134.6 I logged ๐Ÿ‘
    October 12: 135.2 Awwww, I'm kinda disappointed.
    October 13: 136.0 -Sigh.-
October 14: 135.8 Looks like today or tomorrow will by Cycle day 1... that seems to explain some things with my hunger and eating the last couple days and, uh, some moodiness, LOL! Perimenopause is interesting... I never know what's going on.
    October 15: 137.0
    October 16: 136.4
    October 17: 136.4
October 18: 135.6 I logged ๐Ÿ‘. Could be worse, considering I haven't been logging and I keep eating too much. I keep getting hungry and eating over my calorie goal, and then I just throw in the towel. My goal for the rest of the month is to stop with that perfectionism and to keep logging even if I'm going to be way over on calories. Also, more protein in the early afternoon might help with my afternoon cravings.

    Oct 17: 208.7
    Oct 18: 207.5
Oct 19: 205.7 - No cycle, but at least the water retention is less. This round really damaged my mindset too. I felt afraid to post my weight, felt fake for posting because it just looks like I'm off plan when I wasn't. Just glad the number is better.

@ManifestingToday Please Please never feel afraid to post your weight. Never feel fake. Remember, you are not posting for us, you are posting for YOU. Also, we are all anonymous. No judgement here. The posts are really to help you monitor and track how things are affecting you in your journey. Water fluctuations, how certain foods affect your scale, bathroom habits, hormone changes. What happens with certain workouts (weight loss? recovery fluid retention?) It really helps us make good choices. Also, reading other comments can give us really good ideas of things that we've never tried. When you are being honest, you are really being honest with yourself and we all know that we must do that to be successful.

It's true, weight loss is not linear. Sometimes I do everything right and I gain. Even potty can make a difference in the scale. Other times, I go off track a little and still lose weight on the scale tomorrow. It doesn't always make sense but usually it's because our changes don't always show up the next morning. It really can take a day or two, good or bad. Medications and health conditions also play a part in all this and we all know that so don't worry about what we "think". MFP is great to learn your body, your fluctuations, your habits and how they hurt or help. It's a great tool and I hope you will look at this journey with hope, not embarrassment, shame or fear. We are all in this together and we all succeed differently. Yes, I said succeed, and that you will! Congratulations on going from 221 to 205. Keep going! You've got this!

10/19-185.6-(Trend Weight 186.2)- I was hoping to see a little more of a drop but I have just went through some higher calorie and carb days on the zig-zag so luckily itโ€™s not done too much damage. I hope to choose a lower calorie day today but we will see how the nighttime munchies get me. Sometimes I have to switch to a medium or higher day at night, last minute, because of an extra snack. However, inevitably I get to those lower calorie ones somewhere by the end of the week and must face the fiddler, bite the bullet, so to speak, and get through the lower days too. I do like the flexibility of this plan so far. Tonight I am planning some skinny popcorn for a snack so I hope that feeds the night monsters. I have to go to bed early tonight because of an early morning tomorrow to get DGS ready for school and get him to the bus stop so that should help. Just a friendly reminder: Remember, that Halloween candy is for the children! Letโ€™s do well.

Had another good day today and made some good choices. Meal planning is an important part of my day. I have a staff meeting tomorrow and there are usually snacks. I plan to bring my own so I can snack too.

8: ๐Ÿฅ™๐Ÿงถ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿ’งI hit all of my goals today โค๏ธ A great weekend with the family
9: ๐Ÿฅ™๐Ÿงถ๐Ÿ’ง๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ hit all my goals today, even if my walk was interrupted by a sudden rainshower. Looking forward to fall activities and don't mind the rain as the trade off ๐ŸŽƒ
10: ๐Ÿฅ™๐Ÿ’ง late night of fall baseball and then target runs to prep my teen for homecoming. Definitely went too long without eating and then ate an oceans worth of fishsticks. Heading to bed and starting over tomorrow

12:๐Ÿฅ™๐Ÿงถ๐Ÿ’ง๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ I will never not be humbled by a zumba class. I went to my second one today and man it was so fun, but I accidently looked in the mirror and I looked like an electrocuted jellyfish every time I waved my arms...
13:๐Ÿฅ™๐Ÿงถ went over my calories and missed some goals, but the day was good despite it and I'm excited for a whole weekend free โค๏ธ

16: ๐Ÿฅ™๐Ÿ’ง๐Ÿงถ I'm celebrating 30 days of consistent tracking. I'm trying to focus on what things feel sustainable, and what can make my weightloss a long term change. I love the classes at the gym, and how much easier my mornings are when I meal prep. I like that I don't feel stuffed when I'm done eating and that I can tell the difference when I've drunk enough water. I'm looking forward to what I notice at day 60 ๐ŸŽ‰๐ŸŽ‰๐ŸŽ‰๐ŸŽ‰๐ŸŽ‰๐ŸŽ‰
