It’s October! Autumn is in full swing with crisp nights and cool mornings resulting in some gorgeous fall leaf colors.
Fall is my favorite time of year. To me it signals the beginning of the holiday seasons starting with Halloween. 🎃 🐈⬛

Hi there! I’m Jacqie.
I’ve been on a mission to get back to good health habits and lose 75lbs.. Started almost 6 weeks ago. Down 7.5 lbs but still struggling with bad habits creeping back in (especially in the evening).
My goals:
Weigh in daily
Log everything daily (has been a challenge)
Drink more water
Exercise (imorove strength and consistency)

Hello I'm Darlene and have been with this group for a few month now. Retired, 63-year-old. Married (Greg), one adult daughter (Allyson), and one goldendoodle (Monty). Been with this group since the spring - my favorite group for support!
My goals for October🍂 :- Lose 4 pounds (always my goal) - BUT I am only 6 pounds away from getting out of the obese category - so setting a stretch goal to get there by the end of the month. Usually if I announce something I do it so . . . .. fingers crossed. ⚖️
- Hit my orignal 1,960 mile goal. I am on a mission to get 2,023 miles in 2023, when I first started my goal was 1,960 - a good year. When I realized that I would achieve this early changed it to 2,023. 🏃♂️
- 17K Steps daily 👣
- Drink 6-8 Glasses of Water Daily 💦
- Strength Train 3 days a week 💪
- Tai Chi or Some Stretching exercise 1 day a week 🧘

Hi I'm Marla, 67 yrs old and retired. I have been yo-yoing with 20lbs for the last 20 yrs. Right now at 150 I want to be 130. I am smaller and the entire weight is in my stomach making me look 6 months pregnant. Over the last 20 yrs I have been asked many times. Last week a lady in my Tai chi class asked me and I laughed and told her how old I am! But inside was the shame you feel for not having the control over food you want. So here I am again, and this time I am going to work on my mindset and thoughts.

Hello, I’m Stormy, a 73 male. 5’4”, 183.4lbs for my first weigh-in here in Oct. I bowl twice a week, play softball when it is warm, and pickleball (indoors) when it is not. I also work way too hard on my yard/lawn. I do intermittent fasting and Keto-ish. I’ve been a member of MFP since 2016 and during that time frame, I’ve weighed as little as 148 and as much as 209.
MFP has been good for me when I join a support group to keep me accountable. My goal for Sep-Dec is to finish off 2023 on a positive trend heading toward a healthy weight. I want to hit the ground running in 2024 instead of waiting for the New Year to make resolutions.

I’m a grandma in Ontario. 7 months ago my health really took a hit: diabetes, hbp, hardened arteries , arthritis, etc. Everything came on at once. I was heading for a stroke. Scared me into action.

My name is Theresa and this is my first month with the group. I'm 55, from Indiana, and have had weight issues most of my life. I've been on the dieting roller coaster for 30 years and try not to diet but to make better choices. Multiple times I was close to 400 lbs. While I still bounce numbers around, I'm usually a few pounds on either side of 235. I did not have weight loss surgery but have had excess skin removed. I would like to lose 40 more lbs. I stress eat and love to snack. I'm trying to get more under control.

10/01-187.2-(Trend Weight 189.2)- Yesterday everything was on point—diet, exercise, water, Potty. I wish everyday fell in line like that but that is not typical of my normal day. I had no handymen, no babysitting, no kids stop buy (with treats), no invitations from friends to go have lunch or dinner, it was a care-free day of self focus. Yesterday was one of the lower calorie/carb days on the zig-zagging I am doing so I’m not surprised to see the scale a bit more down because of that. It certainly likes to tip up a bit on the scheduled higher days so fair enough!

Hi everyone! (Thanks for starting this up for October, Jill!) I'm IN and plan to log, weigh and check in daily.
My name is Carole and I live and work in metro Boston (MA). I’m 65, 5’3” and I live alone. I still work full-time (in Cambridge).
My goals for October:
-Weigh-in daily; lose 5 lbs.
-Log daily and consistently.
-Housework: Cleaning, decluttering, downsizing for potential move (after 40 years).
-Avoid any and all consumption of alcoholic beverages (Will note this as "NO ETOH").
-Limit calories to 1,500/day (or less).
-Exercise at least 30 minutes, at least five days per week.
