Itโs October! Autumn is in full swing with crisp nights and cool mornings resulting in some gorgeous fall leaf colors.
Fall is my favorite time of year. To me it signals the beginning of the holiday seasons starting with Halloween. ๐ ๐โโฌ

Iโve been on a mission to get back to good health habits and lose 75lbs.. Started almost 6 weeks ago. Down 7.5 lbs but still struggling with bad habits creeping back in (especially in the evening).
My goals:
Weigh in daily
Log everything daily (has been a challenge)
Drink more water
Exercise (imorove strength and consistency)
Find my groove! ๐

Hello I'm Darlene and have been with this group for a few month now. Retired, 63-year-old. Married (Greg), one adult daughter (Allyson), and one goldendoodle (Monty). Been with this group since the spring - my favorite group for support!
My goals for October๐ :- Lose 4 pounds (always my goal) - BUT I am only 6 pounds away from getting out of the obese category - so setting a stretch goal to get there by the end of the month. Usually if I announce something I do it so . . . .. fingers crossed. โ๏ธ
- Hit my orignal 1,960 mile goal. I am on a mission to get 2,023 miles in 2023, when I first started my goal was 1,960 - a good year. When I realized that I would achieve this early changed it to 2,023. ๐โโ๏ธ
- 17K Steps daily ๐ฃ
- Drink 6-8 Glasses of Water Daily ๐ฆ
- Strength Train 3 days a week ๐ช
- Tai Chi or Some Stretching exercise 1 day a week ๐ง

I'm Stormy, 73. Back with this group for a second month. I the holiday season, however, this is a difficult time of year for me to fight off bad food choices. Perhaps daily accountability with this group will motivate me to make better choices as we approach the "Eating Season". See you all tomorrow for the first weigh-in for October.2

Hi I'm Marla, 67 yrs old and retired. I have been yo-yoing with 20lbs for the last 20 yrs. Right now at 150 I want to be 130. I am smaller and the entire weight is in my stomach making me look 6 months pregnant. Over the last 20 yrs I have been asked many times. Last week a lady in my Tai chi class asked me and I laughed and told her how old I am! But inside was the shame you feel for not having the control over food you want. So here I am again, and this time I am going to work on my mindset and thoughts.
My goals for Oct:
Lose at least 4 lbs.
Yoga, Qigong at least 10 min daily
Walking daily
Weighing daily
Smaller portion sizes
Cut down on sugar & fat

Hello, Iโm Stormy, a 73 male. 5โ4โ, 183.4lbs for my first weigh-in here in Oct. I bowl twice a week, play softball when it is warm, and pickleball (indoors) when it is not. I also work way too hard on my yard/lawn. I do intermittent fasting and Keto-ish. Iโve been a member of MFP since 2016 and during that time frame, Iโve weighed as little as 148 and as much as 209.
MFP has been good for me when I join a support group to keep me accountable. My goal for Sep-Dec is to finish off 2023 on a positive trend heading toward a healthy weight. I want to hit the ground running in 2024 instead of waiting for the New Year to make resolutions.

Iโm a grandma in Ontario. 7 months ago my health really took a hit: diabetes, hbp, hardened arteries , arthritis, etc. Everything came on at once. I was heading for a stroke. Scared me into action.
I love this challenge, and the support and inspiration it brings.

My name is Theresa and this is my first month with the group. I'm 55, from Indiana, and have had weight issues most of my life. I've been on the dieting roller coaster for 30 years and try not to diet but to make better choices. Multiple times I was close to 400 lbs. While I still bounce numbers around, I'm usually a few pounds on either side of 235. I did not have weight loss surgery but have had excess skin removed. I would like to lose 40 more lbs. I stress eat and love to snack. I'm trying to get more under control.
