Hello I'm Darlene and have been with this group for a few months now; my favorite support group on MFP. Retired, 63-year-old. Married (Greg), one adult daughter (Allyson), and one goldendoodle (Monty).

    My goals for October🍂 :
Lose 4 pounds (always my goal) - BUT I am only 6 pounds away from getting out of the obese category - so setting a stretch goal to get there by the end of the month. Usually if I announce something I do it so . . . .. fingers crossed. ⚖️
Hit my orignal 1,960 mile goal. I am on a mission to get 2,023 miles in 2023, when I first started my goal was 1,960 - a good year. When I realized that I would achieve this early changed it to 2,023. 🏃‍♂️
    17K Steps daily 👣
Drink 6-8 Glasses of Water Daily 💦
    Strength Train 3 days a week 💪
Tai Chi or Some Stretching exercise 1 day a week 🧘
    Log daily 📝
Stay under my calorie range 🥗
    Read daily 📖
Do something creative or fun daily 🧶 🖍️ 🎮

Weight Loss to Date: 53.8 Pounds

    🎃👻🍂Happy October!🎃👻🍂

    Oct 1: 😁 173.8 A good start 👣💦📝 🥗 🎮
    Oct 2: 😁 173.4 👣💦💪📝🥗 📖 🖍️ 🎮
Oct 3: 173.4 👣💦📝🥗 📖 🖍️ 🎮 The Hogwarts challenge that I am in has an assignment this week to run/jog for 20 minutes. It doesn't have to be in one session. Years ago, I did the Couch to 5K and jogged a 5k on my 50th birthday (a time when I was almost at my goal weight). I thought about doing that again, but when I tried earlier this year my knees couldn't take it. I thought I would try again when I lost 60 pounds - I'm not quite at 60, but close - I guess this was a sign that I should try again. Yesterday I did day one, and it was fun. Keeping my fingers crossed because I really did love it.

My name is Donna. I am 5’ 5” tall, 63 years old and from the Michigan USA. In 2016 I weighed 253 lbs. I am on a journey of health and to get back to the real me.
Every healthy habit brings me closer to scratching each of these off to NEVER see them again!
    250’s; 240’s; 230’s; 220's; 210's; 200's; 190's; 180’s; 170's; 160's; 150’s

    Goal: 184.2 (Four lb Loss)
    Actual Ending Weight: xxxxx

**************************************ONE DAY, ONE STEP, ONE DECISION AT A TIME************************************

Weight in blue makes me blue because it’s a gain. Weight in fuchsia pink makes me feel cheery because it’s a loss. Weight in black means no change.

    10/04-186.6-(Trend Weight 188.5)-

10/05-185.8-(Trend Weight 188.2)- I was happy to dip into the 185 range this morning, However, I travel today for my bone density scan. I’ll do my shopping while out-of-town and also have a nice lunch or dinner with my son so I know the weight will be back up tomorrow. I did chose my highest calorie/carb allowance day on zig-zag for today because of the travel. I know I went over that but I will be following today with the lowest allowance for the zig-zag week tomorrow as part of my plan. Hopefully this will mitigate the damage and will be good like a bad dream before you know it.

10/06-188.0-(Trend Weight 188.2)- Well, it is exactly as I expected so I have my work cut out for me. My menu is pre-logged and I’ve already done 21 minutes of my planned exercise. Handymen will be here any minute so more exercise will likely be late tonight. No worries.

So happy to be home after 3 days away. Conferences are great, until you have no choice over 2 of your meals each day. I packed healthy snacks and did my best to stay on point...until I didn't. 🤦‍♀️. I've done well today but was short on protein so dinner is a lot of chicken and some protein pudding for dessert. Looking forward to the weekend and being back in as much control as possible.

Thank you! I can't take credit - another member of this group months ago used to do it and I stole the idea from her.

Happy Thanksgiving by the way. Hope everything works out for you.

Hi, I’m Tiffani. 41 female 5’1. Lost 20lbs 2 years ago and felt so good but I’ve put it all back on and I’m finally ready to get back on track. I’m only tracking food right now and will add in movement at some point.

    1: 159.6
    2: 159.0
3: 159.0 (ate good yesterday despite having lunch provided at a work event. Very proud of myself and I’m sure that’s why I didn’t jump back up in weight this morning:) I’m trying to listen to my hunger cues…something I’m not very good at.
4: 159.6 ate good yesterday. Definitely didn’t go over my cals so I guess my body is fluctuating water weight. I feel really good about being back on track and doing something rather than just wishing I was thinner lol
5: 159.8 I ate a little more yesterday but still under maintenance by 1-200 cals. I think the bump up was because I ate more towards the end of the day. I know if I keep on keepin on it will eventually show up on the scale
6: 159.6 I ate over maintenance tonight so hopefully that doesn’t set me back too far. Only by about 150cals so shouldn’t do too much damage.

    Starting weight September 1: 141

    Goal weight for October: 132.8

    October 1: 136.2
October 2: 137.0 I logged 👍 Wow, my weight can really spike up quickly. On Sept 30 I was 134.8. Now 2.2 lbs higher. But this is not a surprise. On Sept 30 my mom took me out to lunch; and the mac & cheese was sooooo bad. I just had to go home and make mac & cheese to go with dinner, the proper way, with all the butter and flour and cream cheese and buttery bread crumb topping. And I ate too much of that mac & cheese. And then yesterday we had a long party with friends, and there was a ton of great food & wine. So I overdid it there. So, now back to the plan. My goal is to get back at daily logging & daily meeting my calorie goal, AND to drink lots of water. Cycle day 1 should be right about now too, so the weight could stay here or go up again. Just going to get back to the plan and try to stick with it from here!
    October 3: 137.0 I logged 👍

My name is Donna. I am 5’ 5” tall, 63 years old and from the Michigan USA. In 2016 I weighed 253 lbs. I am on a journey of health and to get back to the real me.
Every healthy habit brings me closer to scratching each of these off to NEVER see them again!

Weight in blue makes me blue because it’s a gain. Weight in fuchsia pink makes me feel cheery because it’s a loss. Weight in black means no change.

10/06-188.0-(Trend Weight 188.2)- Well, it is exactly as I expected so I have my work cut out for me. My menu is pre-logged and I’ve already done 21 minutes of my planned exercise. Handymen will be here any minute so more exercise will likely be late tonight. No worries.

10/07-186.8-(Trend Weight 188.1)- I forgot to close out my day last night on MFP but I had an okay day. Scale is going back down from the travel day. My exercise was limited to just 20 minutes of aerobic dance due to the handymen being here so late. Today will be a slow rainy relaxing day but I may go check up on my older friend today and spend a little time with her. Tonight I hope to get some snuggled up reading in with a nice cup of hibiscus tea.

7: 159.6 well…one of these days maybe I’ll see some downward movement😅 Non-scale victory is I did not eat donuts with the kids this morning I made some eggs👍🏻

I’m a grandma from Ontario. 7 months ago my health really took a hit: diabetes, hbp, hardened arteries , arthritis, etc. Everything came on at once. I was heading for a stroke. Scared me into action.

Spent most of the day driving home and didn’t get any exercise. Just not really motivated to do much other than get ready for Thanksgiving. Had a great time in the Soo, on the train, and hiking in the woods yesterday. It was beautiful. It did turn a bit cold, and I didn’t bring a warm coat, but I always get hot hiking, so I was fine. Heard it might snow there soon.
Have my family coming over for Thanksgiving and I do all the cooking. I’m well prepared though and enjoy it. Glad to be able to cook my own food. I didn’t eat well while away even though my calorie intake was fine.
I think we were a little late for the fall colours. They’re even prettier around here.
