Well, I got into the chips last night, so I am up half a pound on the scales this morning, which is to be expected. But every time I decide to throw my calorie budget out the window and eat chips in the evening, I forget how it affects my sleep. I ALWAYS have a restless sleep and wake up in the middle of the night, very thirsty, and have a hard time falling back to sleep. A good night's sleep is WAY more desirable than some stupid chips....so why do I always forget that part of the equation??

Pizza is the same way for me now. It's greasy, it's salty, and heavy. If I dare eat it for dinner (too close to bed time), I feel pretty bad at some point overnight. All that gunk swimming around and digesting. I wish we could make vegetables and lettuce taste like chocolate and cake. I know we already have veggie chips, but I can overdo it with those too. I keep waiting for medical science to find the switch that allows us to dial down the cravings for the bad stuff. But even a good salad I can overdo it. I just wish I could switch off the hunger and cravings so I didn't want to feel overfull all the time.

Hello my names Brenda and live in Muskoka Ontario Canada 6 months and Bluffton South Carolina 6 months. Two grown children, one married and one teaching in the uk, and our 11 1/2 year old white lab Tucker. I lost 45 lbs and kept it off but it’s starting to creep. I’m committing to weighing in daily. We have company starting tomorrow for the week , not a great time to start but there never is.

I’m a grandma from Ontario. 8 months ago my health really took a hit: diabetes, hbp, hardened arteries , arthritis, etc. Everything came on at once. I was heading for a stroke. Scared me into action.
I love this challenge, and the support and inspiration it brings. Even though I gained a little this past month, I believe this challenge helped me from gaining more.
One of my goals this month is to try and get some exercise every day.

Starting weight in March 2023: 230 lbs.
    Goal weight: 120 lbs.
    Height: 5’2”
    Total loss: 42.6 lbs.
End of Sept. weight: 187.8 lbs.
    End of October weight: 188

    Monthly Weight Loss:
    March-10 lbs. (2023)
    April- 8 lbs.
    May- 5 lbs.
June- 4.4 lbs. (trip to Europe)
    July- 5.6
    August-7 lbs. joined a β€˜challenge’
    September- 2.6 lbs. ( sick)
    October- (gained) .2 lbs.
November- goal lose 4 lbs. and exercise most days, count calories, log food
    December-

Nov. 1- 187.4 lbs. I feel like I’m back on track, and looking forward to beating this November challenge. Today, after my osteoporosis class I rode the bike in the gym for 15 minutes.
    Nov. 2- 187.2 aqua fit
Nov. 3- 186.8 osteoporosis fitness, stationary bike
Nov. 4- 186.2 swam in pool

Nov 1 βœ”οΈ it is black walnut season so after work I spent over an hour picking them up. This morning I did treadmill and upper body.
Nov 2 βœ”οΈ today I did a MFP workout video. It was the kettlebell lower body day 1. So many squats!!! I had to modify some but I pushed through.
Nov 3 βœ”οΈ- really proud of myself today. I didn’t want to get up and workout. My legs hurt from all the squats I did yesterday. I got on treadmill for 30 minutes
Nov 4 βœ”οΈ weight- 193- my plan today is to clean out my garden and flower beds. My legs have hurt so bad today.
Nov 5 βœ”οΈ-weight- 192.6-I am glad for the loss but for having over 1700 steps yesterday and working so hard in the yard, I was sure I would have lost more. But I am learning the scale is just a tool it is not a definition of me

Well, I’ve been trying to hook up my Aria smart scale through my Fitbit to my new Ipad so I can log my weight. It’s not working and I don’t know what else to do other than change the batteries. The scale is varying by 3 to 4 lbs. every time I stand on it. I’d love to take the lowest weight, but I’m sure I’d just be kidding myself.
Yesterday, cleaned another bag of clothes out of my closet. Many of them still fit, but sick of the ugly, baggy looking thingsπŸ˜’. Boy, when I get slimmer, I’m going to get some cute looking clothes.πŸ‘—

Hi All, I am a busy mother of five slowly working my way to my goal weight. During September I entered my "Normal" BMI category and am now about 10 pounds from my ultimate goal. This will be my 3rd month in this challenge. I had never weighed myself daily before this challenge, and I am finding it to be so helpful and informative to weigh and check in daily.

My goal for November is to NOT GET DERAILED BY THANKSGIVING. πŸ¦ƒ πŸ₯§ 😊 Let me tell you, I can really get derailed by a holiday. I may or may not log on Thanksgiving or the day after, and that's OK. But my Thanksgiving goal is to log daily from Saturday the 25th through the end of the month.

    Starting weight September 1: 141.0

    Starting weight November1: 132.8

Goal for November: 130.4 Considering Thanksgiving, I'm setting my goal a tad on the conservative side.

    November 1: 132.8 I logged 🍁
    November 2: 132.8 I logged 🍁
November 3: 131.4 I logged 🍁 Very happy with today's weight. Over the past week there have been several days that I ate at maintenance, and a couple days I ate well over maintenance. It was hard to tell if I was needlessly eating more, or if I really needed the additional calories. I've already got my activity level set to almost the highest one, and I haven't even gone running or done any exercise for over a week. I guess I walk constantly around the house, dealing with the children and doing housework, always on my feet, and I frequently have to do up and down the stairs to deal with something or put something away, so maybe that burns a lot sometimes. For a while there I thought I was "failing" because I could not hit my calorie goal.
    November 4: 131.0 I logged 🍁
    November 5: 130.8
    November 6: 132.2

Welcome to the group, @sands4 ! Congrats on getting started, regardless of what's in progress - agreed that there's no great time to start. <3 Lots of great support here, you're in the right place.

Hi, I’m Stormy and I’ve been with this group since September. I had to take a two-week break because my household and normal routine have been in chaos. Bathroom renovation and cataract surgery.

I’m back now and ready to weigh in and post every day again. September was good and October was up and down. However, I’m on an overall trend, in the correct direction, from my starting weight of 190 lbs.

My goal for Nov and December will be to stay on a downward trend through both months. These are typically my worst weight-gaining months. I call this the eating season. I tend to fail to the temptations during the holiday seasons. Then, when I fail, I give up and tell myself I’ll start again when the new year comes around. My hope is you will all witness the breaking of my "Eating Season" cycle this year!

Hi, All! I am a full-time chaos coordinator with a husband and four kids and a two-time cancer survivor, which means I always seem to have something on the mend. Lol. My goals this month are to manage my stress, lengthen and strengthen my muscles, and move down a decade this month. All the best to everyone on their goals this month!

    01: 181.2
    02: 182.4 - Sodium I do believe.
    03: 183.0 - Gotta watch the carbs.
04: 182.1 - Small win of not eating my usual late night after-work dinner.
    05: 182.3 - Went over calories.
06: 181.0 - Very busy shift at work and ate way under calories.

I have yet another interview today. This job is not ideal, but I need something. Cancer screws up your body and your finances. Most days, I am pretty up in mood, but some days are just hard.

My name is Donna. I am 5’ 5” tall, 63 years old and from the Michigan USA. In 2016 I weighed 253 lbs. I am on a journey of health and to get back to the real me.
Every healthy habit brings me closer to scratching each of these off to NEVER see them again!

Weight in blue makes me blue because it’s a gain. Weight in fuchsia pink makes me feel cheery because it’s a loss. Weight in black means no change.

    11/04-184.0-(Trend Weight 184.2)-

11/05-184.6-(Trend Weight 184.2)-. I’m confused by today’s weight after having only 1010 calories and very low carb yesterday. It was an early weigh in and I’m still struggling with TMI so it’s probably that. Traveling today. We’ll be having Golden Corral for Lunch/Dinner for my daughter’s birthday which is such a treat for a rural girl like me. Tomorrow’s weigh-in won’t be pretty. I hate that it will be so close to the end of the round with only one day to recover. I’m going to try to remember that as I spoon things onto my plate. Yeah, good luck with that Donna!

11/06-185.4-(Trend Weight 184.3)- Travel again today about 90 miles round trip for my Cat. Harriet does not seem to be eating very well and it looks like she is losing weight. Also her fur is changing. It looks nice, but she is looking more like a short-haired cat than a long-haired one. Very strange. This is the cat I got from my brother when he passed away less than 2 years ago. I am still learning her habits but I do feel that something is wrong. I made this appointment last Friday so I am glad they could get me in pretty quick. She’s a sweet timid girl. She has been through a lot.

But I am learning the scale is just a tool it is not a definition of me
Nov 6 βœ”οΈ- weight 194.6- not sure what happened. I have been careful. This is usually when I give up. I can’t give up now. I did eat 2 cookies but they were no flour peanut butter cookies. On the plus side I portioned out 2 cookies.

Hello I'm Darlene and have been with this group for a few months now. Retired, 63-year-old. Married (Greg), one adult daughter (Allyson), and one goldendoodle (Monty). Been with this group since the spring - my favorite group for support!

My goals for πŸ¦ƒNovemberπŸ¦ƒ - simplifying them this month - too hard to keep track of everything last month

βš–οΈ Lose 4 pounds (always my goal) - bringing me out of the obese category and into overweight
πŸ‘£ 17K steps daily with one day of rest
    πŸ“ Log Daily
πŸ₯— Stay under my calorie range

    βš–οΈπŸ‘£πŸ“πŸ₯—

    Highest Weight: 228
    October Ending Weight: 169.6

    Nov 1: 171 - πŸ‘£ πŸ“ πŸ₯— 17K Steps Not off to a good start - but it's temporary!
Nov 2: DNW - πŸ“ 4K Steps Tough day for eating and exercise yesterday. It was our monthly visit to my husband's 91 year old cousin who lives about 2 hours away. Leave at 5:30 AM - have breakfast and lunch with her (not good choices) and then a long drive back home later in the afternoon. We got back home at 6:00. Lovely visit, but it makes for a long day and I am exhausted when I get home. I hit the left over Halloween candy for dinner, no exercise at all, couldn't sleep (probably too much sugar). It's just a temporary situation (didn't I say that yesterday?)! Will get back to it today!
Nov 3: 170.4 πŸ‘£ πŸ“πŸ₯— 23K Steps Good day yesterday; everything on track and on my way back. As a reward for making my 2,023 goal hubby said to get the new Garmin Fitness tracker that I have been eyeing. It came a couple of days ago and I've been trying to figure it out; wearing both the Fitbit and Garmin. Today will switch to totally Garmin. Hubby is getting the Fitbit.
Nov 4: 170.2 πŸ‘£πŸ“πŸ₯— 20K Steps A slow creep in the right direction. Girls day at the casino today - my sisters and aunt are going. Wish me luck! I should still be ok. I'm eating my breakfast before I go, will bring a protein bar and fruit for my lunch and will be home for dinner. And I won't be drinking (I have to drive home).
    Nov 5: 170.4 πŸ‘£πŸ“πŸ₯— 20K Steps
Nov 6: 170.6 πŸ‘£πŸ“πŸ₯— 21K Steps Ugh - I've been struggling to see a decrease this week. The only thing I can think of is that I haven't been reaching my water goal. Will concentrate on that today and hope for a whoosh!
Nov 7: 169.6 πŸ‘£πŸ“πŸ₯— Finally back to my October ending weight. Now to keep it below the 170s for good.

@Rinoga Art festival sounds like fun - I wish it was warm enough here for a sunburn! 😁
@sands4 Welcome to the group. Fantastic job losing all that weight. This is a great group for accountability. No matter what - show up. There is no judgements in this group - but showing up makes you understand your own body and keeps you on track. πŸ™‹β€β™€οΈ
@stirredintention - Go glad you had wonderful weekend and a great time with your best friend! Nice way to end it. πŸšΆβ€β™€οΈ
@melwillbehealthy I hear you. I too got rid of a lot of clothes - I have smaller clothes for the next two sizes, but they are dated. Not buying anything new until I get to my goal weight so will have to stick with the old stuff for a while. Can't weight. πŸ‘™
    @stormywxs288 Welcome back! πŸ™‹β€β™€οΈ
@bittersweetVita - Hope the interview went well. Fingers crossed for you. You can always keep looking after you take it (and it may surprise you and be the best job ever). I always thought it was easier to find a new job when you had a job then when you didn't. 🀞
@myhands4god I started this journey in January - been on a diet thousands of times without success.
I blame that failure on the fact that when I had an up - I gave up - saying why bother! This time around something clicked. When I had an off day - or when the scale didn't cooperate - I just kept going. Now down almost 60 pounds. One thing I learned being on this thread - the body is a confusing thing. Days I thought would be down I would be up, vice versa. The key is to just keep going - don't let the scale be your only motivation - if you do the work I promise you it will come off. Be strong, the tortoise always wins the race. 🐒
@deepwoodslady Hope Harriet is ok. So glad they could get her in. 🀞

Hi, I am Lisa. I am 57 years old, 5'5" tall and I live in Tillsonburg, Ontario. I am married with two grown sons. One son lives in town here with his girlfriend, and the other is single and lives in Zurich, Switzerland. We have a family farm supply business that I work very, very part time at, filing invoices and stuffing and mailing monthly customer statements. I damaged my knee at the end of May and by the end of June I had given up. However, losing weight would be the single greatest thing I could do to help my knees, my feet, and any other body part that is screaming at me at any given moment!!

It's time to get this weight off for good! My first goal is Onederland....again :(

I have to scroll through a few posts to find my last one so I can modify it. I noticed a few of you are having a good first week: @smoran98 @lauramavity7293 @Rinoga @stormywxs288 @Rh1aB1a Well done!!

@waxingturtle I do not buy protein bars as a rule so I can't suggest one that has less fat.

@myhands4God Well done on only having 2 cookies!! And like Darlene said, if you know you have done everything right, then you just have to stay the course and be patient for the results to show on the scales. Because they will!!

@ddainiak Congrats on getting back to the 60's!!

@jm216 How are you doing, Jill? Holding steady is never a bad thing; definitely beats gaining!
