Iโm a grandma from Ontario. 8 months ago my health really took a hit: diabetes, hbp, hardened arteries , arthritis, etc. Everything came on at once. I was heading for a stroke. Scared me into action.
I love this challenge, and the support and inspiration it brings. Even though I gained a little this past month, I believe this challenge helped me from gaining more.
One of my goals this month is to try and get some exercise every day.
Starting weight in March 2023: 230 lbs.
Goal weight: 120 lbs.
Height: 5โ2โ
Total loss: 42.6 lbs.
End of Sept. weight: 187.8 lbs.

Hi All, I am a busy mother of five slowly working my way to my goal weight. During September I entered my "Normal" BMI category and am now about 10 pounds from my ultimate goal. This will be my 3rd month in this challenge. I had never weighed myself daily before this challenge, and I am finding it to be so helpful and informative to weigh and check in daily.
My goal for November is to NOT GET DERAILED BY THANKSGIVING. ๐ฆ ๐ฅง ๐ Let me tell you, I can really get derailed by a holiday. I may or may not log on Thanksgiving or the day after, and that's OK. But my Thanksgiving goal is to log daily from Saturday the 25th through the end of the month.
Starting weight September 1: 141.0
Starting weight November1: 132.8
Goal for November: 130.4 Considering Thanksgiving, I'm setting my goal a tad on the conservative side.
November 1: 132.8 I logged ๐
November 2: 132.8 I logged ๐
November 3: 131.4 I logged ๐ Very happy with today's weight. Over the past week there have been several days that I ate at maintenance, and a couple days I ate well over maintenance. It was hard to tell if I was needlessly eating more, or if I really needed the additional calories. I've already got my activity level set to almost the highest one, and I haven't even gone running or done any exercise for over a week. I guess I walk constantly around the house, dealing with the children and doing housework, always on my feet, and I frequently have to do up and down the stairs to deal with something or put something away, so maybe that burns a lot sometimes. For a while there I thought I was "failing" because I could not hit my calorie goal.
November 4: 131.0 I logged ๐
November 5: 130.8
November 6: 132.2 I logged ๐
November 7: 131.8

Hi everyone!
I want to take my daily caloric goal more seriously. I'll post my performance here every day. Extra points for staying below it.
I will also weigh daily. I had good success with it in the past, so why not try again?| Day | Weight (morning) | Total cal | Cal remaining | |------------|------------------|-----------|---------------| | Mon Nov 6 | 125.5 | 1336 | 542 | | Mon Nov 7 | 124.4 | | |

Hello I'm Darlene and have been with this group for a few months now. Retired, 63-year-old. Married (Greg), one adult daughter (Allyson), and one goldendoodle (Monty). Been with this group since the spring - my favorite group for support!

Nov 1: 171 - ๐ฃ ๐ ๐ฅ 17K Steps Not off to a good start - but it's temporary!
Nov 2: DNW - ๐ 4K Steps Tough day for eating and exercise yesterday. It was our monthly visit to my husband's 91 year old cousin who lives about 2 hours away. Leave at 5:30 AM - have breakfast and lunch with her (not good choices) and then a long drive back home later in the afternoon. We got back home at 6:00. Lovely visit, but it makes for a long day and I am exhausted when I get home. I hit the left over Halloween candy for dinner, no exercise at all, couldn't sleep (probably too much sugar). It's just a temporary situation (didn't I say that yesterday?)! Will get back to it today!
Nov 3: 170.4 ๐ฃ ๐๐ฅ 23K Steps Good day yesterday; everything on track and on my way back. As a reward for making my 2,023 goal hubby said to get the new Garmin Fitness tracker that I have been eyeing. It came a couple of days ago and I've been trying to figure it out; wearing both the Fitbit and Garmin. Today will switch to totally Garmin. Hubby is getting the Fitbit.
Nov 4: 170.2 ๐ฃ๐๐ฅ 20K Steps A slow creep in the right direction. Girls day at the casino today - my sisters and aunt are going. Wish me luck! I should still be ok. I'm eating my breakfast before I go, will bring a protein bar and fruit for my lunch and will be home for dinner. And I won't be drinking (I have to drive home).
Nov 5: 170.4 ๐ฃ๐๐ฅ 20K Steps
Nov 6: 170.6 ๐ฃ๐๐ฅ 21K Steps Ugh - I've been struggling to see a decrease this week. The only thing I can think of is that I haven't been reaching my water goal. Will concentrate on that today and hope for a whoosh!
Nov 7: 169.6 ๐ฃ๐๐ฅ Finally back to my October ending weight. Now to keep it below the 170s for good.
@Rinoga Art festival sounds like fun - I wish it was warm enough here for a sunburn! ๐
@sands4 Welcome to the group. Fantastic job losing all that weight. This is a great group for accountability. No matter what - show up. There is no judgements in this group - but showing up makes you understand your own body and keeps you on track. ๐โโ๏ธ
@stirredintention - Go glad you had wonderful weekend and a great time with your best friend! Nice way to end it. ๐ถโโ๏ธ
@melwillbehealthy I hear you. I too got rid of a lot of clothes - I have smaller clothes for the next two sizes, but they are dated. Not buying anything new until I get to my goal weight so will have to stick with the old stuff for a while. Can't weight. ๐
@stormywxs288 Welcome back! ๐โโ๏ธ
@bittersweetVita - Hope the interview went well. Fingers crossed for you. You can always keep looking after you take it (and it may surprise you and be the best job ever). I always thought it was easier to find a new job when you had a job then when you didn't. ๐ค
@myhands4god I started this journey in January - been on a diet thousands of times without success.
I blame that failure on the fact that when I had an up - I gave up - saying why bother! This time around something clicked. When I had an off day - or when the scale didn't cooperate - I just kept going. Now down almost 60 pounds. One thing I learned being on this thread - the body is a confusing thing. Days I thought would be down I would be up, vice versa. The key is to just keep going - don't let the scale be your only motivation - if you do the work I promise you it will come off. Be strong, the tortoise always wins the race. ๐ข
@deepwoodslady Hope Harriet is ok. So glad they could get her in. ๐คlauramavity7293 wrote: ยปMy name is Laura. Iโm married with two boys. Iโve been on MFP for a while but this is my first time doing a community group discussion.

Iโve been using premier protein shakes. I buy the pre-made ones for now because Iโm nervous to spend money on the powder if I donโt like it. They are 30grams of protein and 160 calories regardless of flavor. I started with a variety pack so I could taste the different kinds. Very helpful sometimes for breakfast on the go or after an intense workout. Iโve also had a part of pumpkin spice flavored premier protein shake after dinner when I was craving something sweetโฆtasted just like pumpkin pie. Usually have one per dayโฆ I think more than that would make me constipated. ๐ซค4 -

Also her fur is changing. It looks nice, but she is looking more like a short-haired cat than a long-haired one. Very strange. This is the cat I got from my brother when he passed away less than 2 years ago. I am still learning her habits but I do feel that something is wrong. I made this appointment last Friday so I am glad they could get me in pretty quick. Sheโs a sweet timid girl. She has been through a lot.

Hi, I'm a 50+ yo married female, 5'6", and tired of looking and feeling like I do. Iโm making changes to get out of the Obese category, to look good in my clothing, and to have confidence in public again.

Today we start putting new flooring in our master bathroom. I expect chaos will abound again for at least a few days. We still have vanity countertops and painting to do. Anyway, I'll have to deal with the interruptions to my normal routine.

Hi, I am Lisa. I am 57 years old, 5'5" tall and I live in Tillsonburg, Ontario. I am married with two grown sons. One son lives in town here with his girlfriend, and the other is single and lives in Zurich, Switzerland. We have a family farm supply business that I work very, very part time at, filing invoices and stuffing and mailing monthly customer statements. I damaged my knee at the end of May and by the end of June I had given up. However, losing weight would be the single greatest thing I could do to help my knees, my feet, and any other body part that is screaming at me at any given moment!!
It's time to get this weight off for good! My first goal is Onederland....again

I fell off the wagon and into some carbs....many, many carbs. There were a few factors. Since I can identify them, I can work on them! Not enough steps to generate enough calories to make me feel satisfied, so I was already over by 6 pm and still hungry. Part of that was that I didn't have the right groceries in the house so I had consumed some empty calories. And Tuesday night is when my husband curls, so I have got to come up with a plan for being home alone in the evening!3 -
@deepwoodslady Ugh, I cried just reading your post. I had a very similar vet visit once and I know at a soul level what a hard thing that is to go through. I am so sorry for your loss.1

I missed a day of posting, and there are so many people to respond to.stormywxs288 wrote: ยปMy goal for Nov and December will be to stay on a downward trend through both months. These are typically my worst weight-gaining months. I call this the eating season. I tend to fail to the temptations during the holiday seasons. Then, when I fail, I give up and tell myself Iโll start again when the new year comes around. My hope is you will all witness the breaking of my "Eating Season" cycle this year!
Stormy, I hear you! I can usually get through Thanksgiving, but the 3 weeks leading up to the end of the year are typically the worst for me too. I hope we can both get though this without much damage.@ManifestingToday thank you so much๐ how do I add to my post daily.?
Sands4, unfortunately there is no way to add to a post in these forums. What you will need to do is copy your previous post, paste that into a new post, and then add your next line of data. So you'll be making a new post each time you respond in the forums. The quote function pastes the entire post you're quoting, and you can edit those down to just the text you want to include. It's not really user friendly, and I'm probably not doing a great job of explaining it either. But we all had to figure this out for the first time at some point.BittersweetVita wrote: ยปI have yet another interview today. This job is not ideal, but I need something. You are amazing. I am wishing for good things either with this interview, or for the right job arriving soon.myhands4God wrote: ยปNov 6 โ๏ธ- weight 194.6- not sure what happened. I have been careful. Weight can fluctuate for so many reasons. That's really the lesson from these threads. You can be doing everything right, but a monthly cycle, inconsistent body functions, more sodium, etc, can swing the numbers. As long as that overall trend is downward, you're doing things right. Keep going!
Welcome to the group, @ozdeelite !

Hi, All! I am a full-time chaos coordinator with a husband and four kids and a two-time cancer survivor, which means I always seem to have something on the mend. Lol. My goals this month are to manage my stress, lengthen and strengthen my muscles, and move down a decade this month. All the best to everyone on their goals this month!

03: 183.0 - Gotta watch the carbs.

05: 182.3 - Went over calories.

08: 181.2 - I did well watching my calories on a traveling day.3 -
Hi All, I am a busy mother of five slowly working my way to my goal weight.
November 7: 131.8 I logged ๐
November 8: 131.4
November 9:4
