Iโ€™m a grandma from Ontario. 8 months ago my health really took a hit: diabetes, hbp, hardened arteries , arthritis, etc. Everything came on at once. I was heading for a stroke. Scared me into action.
I love this challenge, and the support and inspiration it brings. Even though I gained a little this past month, I believe this challenge helped me from gaining more.
One of my goals this month is to try and get some exercise every day.

Starting weight in March 2023: 230 lbs.
    Goal weight: 120 lbs.
    Height: 5โ€™2โ€
    Total loss: 42.6 lbs.
End of Sept. weight: 187.8 lbs.
    End of October weight: 188

    Monthly Weight Loss:
    March-10 lbs. (2023)
    April- 8 lbs.
    May- 5 lbs.
June- 4.4 lbs. (trip to Europe)
    July- 5.6

    August-7 lbs. joined a โ€˜challengeโ€™
    September- 2.6 lbs. ( sick)
    October- (gained) .2 lbs.
November- goal lose 4 lbs. and exercise most days, count calories, log food
    December-

Nov. 1- 187.4 lbs. I feel like Iโ€™m back on track, and looking forward to beating this November challenge. Today, after my osteoporosis class I rode the bike in the gym for 15 minutes.
    Nov. 2- 187.2 aqua fit
Nov. 3- 186.8 osteoporosis fitness, stationary bike
Nov. 4- 186.2 swam in pool
Nov. 5- DNW grandson is a scout in the Remembrance Day parade to local cenotaph. Going with family.
    Nov. 6- 187.2 dance aerobics
Nov. 7- 186.8 lbs. must be patient, weight loss is slow
    Nov. 10-
    Nov. 11-

@waxingturtle I do not buy protein bars as a rule so I can't suggest one that has less fat.
    !

Iโ€™ve been using premier protein shakes. I buy the pre-made ones for now because Iโ€™m nervous to spend money on the powder if I donโ€™t like it. They are 30grams of protein and 160 calories regardless of flavor. I started with a variety pack so I could taste the different kinds. Very helpful sometimes for breakfast on the go or after an intense workout. Iโ€™ve also had a part of pumpkin spice flavored premier protein shake after dinner when I was craving something sweetโ€ฆtasted just like pumpkin pie. Usually have one per dayโ€ฆ I think more than that would make me constipated. ๐Ÿซค

My name is Donna. I am 5โ€™ 5โ€ tall, 63 years old and from the Michigan USA. In 2016 I weighed 253 lbs. I am on a journey of health and to get back to the real me.
Every healthy habit brings me closer to scratching each of these off to NEVER see them again!

11/06-185.4-(Trend Weight 184.3)- Travel again today about 90 miles round trip for my Cat. Harriet does not seem to be eating very well and it looks like she is losing weight. Also her fur is changing. It looks nice, but she is looking more like a short-haired cat than a long-haired one. Very strange. This is the cat I got from my brother when he passed away less than 2 years ago. I am still learning her habits but I do feel that something is wrong. I made this appointment last Friday so I am glad they could get me in pretty quick. Sheโ€™s a sweet timid girl. She has been through a lot.

11/07-183.6-(Trend Weight 184.3)- ) I had to put my cat (from my deceased brother) down yesterday. It was not a good day. It was unexpected. Complete renal failure and a mass on the kidney. I also found out, based on her vet records, that she was 12 years old, not 6 years old like I thought (and was told). I am heartbroken. I will miss my Harriet. She was such a good girl. She will be cremated and returned to me.

Hello I'm Darlene and have been with this group for a few months now. Retired, 63-year-old. Married (Greg), one adult daughter (Allyson), and one goldendoodle (Monty). Been with this group since the spring - my favorite group for support!

My goals for ๐ŸฆƒNovember๐Ÿฆƒ - simplifying them this month - too hard to keep track of everything last month

โš–๏ธ Lose 4 pounds (always my goal) - bringing me out of the obese category and into overweight
๐Ÿ‘ฃ 17K steps daily with one day of rest
    ๐Ÿ“ Log Daily
๐Ÿฅ— Stay under my calorie range

    โš–๏ธ๐Ÿ‘ฃ๐Ÿ“๐Ÿฅ—

    Highest Weight: 228
    October Ending Weight: 169.6

    Nov 1: 171 - ๐Ÿ‘ฃ ๐Ÿ“ ๐Ÿฅ— 17K Steps Not off to a good start - but it's temporary!
Nov 2: DNW - ๐Ÿ“ 4K Steps Tough day for eating and exercise yesterday. It was our monthly visit to my husband's 91 year old cousin who lives about 2 hours away. Leave at 5:30 AM - have breakfast and lunch with her (not good choices) and then a long drive back home later in the afternoon. We got back home at 6:00. Lovely visit, but it makes for a long day and I am exhausted when I get home. I hit the left over Halloween candy for dinner, no exercise at all, couldn't sleep (probably too much sugar). It's just a temporary situation (didn't I say that yesterday?)! Will get back to it today!
Nov 3: 170.4 ๐Ÿ‘ฃ ๐Ÿ“๐Ÿฅ— 23K Steps Good day yesterday; everything on track and on my way back. As a reward for making my 2,023 goal hubby said to get the new Garmin Fitness tracker that I have been eyeing. It came a couple of days ago and I've been trying to figure it out; wearing both the Fitbit and Garmin. Today will switch to totally Garmin. Hubby is getting the Fitbit.
Nov 4: 170.2 ๐Ÿ‘ฃ๐Ÿ“๐Ÿฅ— 20K Steps A slow creep in the right direction. Girls day at the casino today - my sisters and aunt are going. Wish me luck! I should still be ok. I'm eating my breakfast before I go, will bring a protein bar and fruit for my lunch and will be home for dinner. And I won't be drinking (I have to drive home).
    Nov 5: 170.4 ๐Ÿ‘ฃ๐Ÿ“๐Ÿฅ— 20K Steps
Nov 6: 170.6 ๐Ÿ‘ฃ๐Ÿ“๐Ÿฅ— 21K Steps Ugh - I've been struggling to see a decrease this week. The only thing I can think of is that I haven't been reaching my water goal. Will concentrate on that today and hope for a whoosh!
Nov 7: 169.6 ๐Ÿ‘ฃ๐Ÿ“๐Ÿฅ— Finally back to my October ending weight. Now to keep it below the 170s for good.
Nov 8: 168.4 ๐Ÿ˜ ๐Ÿ‘ฃ๐Ÿ“๐Ÿฅ— My first smile this month! Woo Hoo! Guess who is no longer "obese"! ๐Ÿ˜‰

Today we start putting new flooring in our master bathroom. I expect chaos will abound again for at least a few days. We still have vanity countertops and painting to do. Anyway, I'll have to deal with the interruptions to my normal routine.

Hi, I am Lisa. I am 57 years old, 5'5" tall and I live in Tillsonburg, Ontario. I am married with two grown sons. One son lives in town here with his girlfriend, and the other is single and lives in Zurich, Switzerland. We have a family farm supply business that I work very, very part time at, filing invoices and stuffing and mailing monthly customer statements. I damaged my knee at the end of May and by the end of June I had given up. However, losing weight would be the single greatest thing I could do to help my knees, my feet, and any other body part that is screaming at me at any given moment!!

It's time to get this weight off for good! My first goal is Onederland....again :(

    30: 207.8
    31: 205.8
    1: 205.2
    2: 206.0
    3: 207.2
    4: 205.2
    5: 205.8
    6: 203.8
    7: 203.6
    8: 204.8

I fell off the wagon and into some carbs....many, many carbs. There were a few factors. Since I can identify them, I can work on them! Not enough steps to generate enough calories to make me feel satisfied, so I was already over by 6 pm and still hungry. Part of that was that I didn't have the right groceries in the house so I had consumed some empty calories. And Tuesday night is when my husband curls, so I have got to come up with a plan for being home alone in the evening!

I missed a day of posting, and there are so many people to respond to.
My goal for Nov and December will be to stay on a downward trend through both months. These are typically my worst weight-gaining months. I call this the eating season. I tend to fail to the temptations during the holiday seasons. Then, when I fail, I give up and tell myself Iโ€™ll start again when the new year comes around. My hope is you will all witness the breaking of my "Eating Season" cycle this year!

Stormy, I hear you! I can usually get through Thanksgiving, but the 3 weeks leading up to the end of the year are typically the worst for me too. I hope we can both get though this without much damage.

@ManifestingToday thank you so much๐Ÿ’• how do I add to my post daily.?

Sands4, unfortunately there is no way to add to a post in these forums. What you will need to do is copy your previous post, paste that into a new post, and then add your next line of data. So you'll be making a new post each time you respond in the forums. The quote function pastes the entire post you're quoting, and you can edit those down to just the text you want to include. It's not really user friendly, and I'm probably not doing a great job of explaining it either. But we all had to figure this out for the first time at some point.
I have yet another interview today. This job is not ideal, but I need something. Cancer screws up your body and your finances. Most days, I am pretty up in mood, but some days are just hard.

You are amazing. I am wishing for good things either with this interview, or for the right job arriving soon.
Nov 6 โœ”๏ธ- weight 194.6- not sure what happened. I have been careful. This is usually when I give up. I canโ€™t give up now. I did eat 2 cookies but they were no flour peanut butter cookies. On the plus side I portioned out 2 cookies.

Weight can fluctuate for so many reasons. That's really the lesson from these threads. You can be doing everything right, but a monthly cycle, inconsistent body functions, more sodium, etc, can swing the numbers. As long as that overall trend is downward, you're doing things right. Keep going!

Welcome to the group, @ozdeelite !

Hi, All! I am a full-time chaos coordinator with a husband and four kids and a two-time cancer survivor, which means I always seem to have something on the mend. Lol. My goals this month are to manage my stress, lengthen and strengthen my muscles, and move down a decade this month. All the best to everyone on their goals this month!

    01: 181.2
    02: 182.4 - Sodium I do believe.
    03: 183.0 - Gotta watch the carbs.
04: 182.1 - Small win of not eating my usual late night after-work dinner.
    05: 182.3 - Went over calories.
06: 181.0 - Very busy shift at work and ate way under calories.
    07: DNW - Travel
08: 181.2 - I did well watching my calories on a traveling day.

Hi All, I am a busy mother of five slowly working my way to my goal weight. During September I entered my "Normal" BMI category and am now about 10 pounds from my ultimate goal. This will be my 3rd month in this challenge. I had never weighed myself daily before this challenge, and I am finding it to be so helpful and informative to weigh and check in daily.

My goal for November is to NOT GET DERAILED BY THANKSGIVING. ๐Ÿฆƒ ๐Ÿฅง ๐Ÿ˜Š Let me tell you, I can really get derailed by a holiday. I may or may not log on Thanksgiving or the day after, and that's OK. But my Thanksgiving goal is to log daily from Saturday the 25th through the end of the month.
