💖I wasn't motivated after going from 288 LBS down to 256. Now I am at 171 what changed?

My journey started many years ago, it's still "on going" though I am no longer losing.
I started at 288 lbs, lost pretty quick to 256!! I was so excited to be losing, until I didn't. I knew I was in deep doo doo if I didn't lose. Diabetes isn't anyone friend, neither was the depression I was in at that time. I went online to find HELP where I did not have to leave the house. I did at that time mostly use a power chair. I found an online site that did exactly what I wanted, they helped you to lose weight! WOOHOO!! I went down to 174, but that site closed (Sparkpeople). We needed a new site to land on and continue to be successful, WELCOME TO MFP!!
It's on MFP that I jumped into maintaining my weight!! HOW you ask did I lose it? How am I keeping it off? I needed support, more so I needed motivation. I am primarily LAZY TO THE MAX!! I just assume stay cuddled up with one or both kitties instead of up and moving, but MOVING I MUST!!
I had found that on Sparkpeople it was so scary when the site was closing!! WHAT WOULD I DO? I am on the 5% Challenge there are 5 OALs (Over All Leaders) we went searching and searching for a site that would suit our needs! I'm so grateful!!
You see even with losing 114 LBS I am STILL on the lazy side if I were not with my teammates Id not exercise or nearly as much as I do. We are welcoming new and returning members to the 2024 Winter 5% Challenge!! Here's the description of the 5% Challenge.
Plz join and have fun as we lose 5% of our weight, improve our health and make new friends. Race to Fascinating Places for 10 WEEKS! Now you can write your own success story! Have a chat or post questions in the Airport Lounge Discussion. Your friends are welcome too. Start date Saturday January 6th.
NOTE: This is an active team. We ask that you report your exercise preferably 2 times a week (many of us do so daily it only takes 3 minutes once you are used to it) as well as the LTGL (AKA Healthy Habit) we work on (DO NOT Worry these are very easy to keep track of, such as one week it may be how many glasses of water did you drink? And did you track your food? The next week it may continue with "Did you track your food?" And add in a new habit "How many hours did you sleep?" Each week are helpful hints to do!! PLUS if you wish to chat with team members or ask any questions of leaders and or team members that's here for you also!! Oh, when I first was losing I had so many questions my teammates were happy to help!! How can I stop snacking when I am not hungry? I am upset about work, how do you handle stress? Oh the list went on and on!!
This challenge runs for 10 weeks starting on Jan 6th but you'll have a practice run the week before just after Christmas starting perfectly on Dec 30th!! That is not far away, meantime on the 2024 Winter 5% Challenge we'll have "countdown activities" to help you have a solid plan. These are done slowly if you wish, as you can, or you can do at any time of the challenge!!
